I'm finally playing s5 of love island the game and they really made this whole thing just to psychologically torture the new mc huh? MC's gonna leave the villa needing 10 years of therapy to get over this shit. I'm all for exploring toxic characters and dynamics but holy shit??? Isn't this supposed to be a game? Aren't games supposed to be fun? I'm just sad and frustrated the whole time, I'm playing S2 in-between S5 chapters just to get some serotonin.
Seriously they introduce her shitty irl ex who she was with for a long time only for him to cheat on her with a waitress he spent months flirting with
Then they reveal in a challenge that MC bought a ring to propose to him with just a day before she found the pic of him with the waitress on his phone
Then they introduce the girl he cheated on her with!???
Remember when S2 had a whole discussion about how "no means no" and even if the person doesn't directly say the word "no" if they're uncomfortable and showing signs they want to stop/be left alone that should be respected and when one of the LIs gets too forceful when flirting with MC, he gets called out by both MC and whoever she's dating at the time and then he apologises... REMEMBER THAT? Why is S5 MC's cheating ex so insistent on flirting with her and even after she says no he's like "i know you i know you don't mean that" bitch leave her alone this has been going on for almost the whole game and I'm so frustrated and at this point it's become weird and creepy. And the fact that all the others characters think MC still likes him even after she says she doesn't??????
The fact that she decides to get serious with the guy she's coupled up with only for her to walk in on him kissing another girl (his best friend's "girlfriend" btw) less than a day later????? Because he thought she cheating on him with her weird clingy cheating ex?????? when in reality creepy-ex was trying to flirt with/kiss MC and she was trying to get him to leave her alone???? And when MC gets pissed at current-boyfriend for kissing another girl he begs for MC to listen to his reasons but when she tries to tell him the truth about what happened with her ex (which her current partner didn't even witness for himself and only heard a rumour about from the villa's most unreliable gossip) he says he doesn't want to talk with her???????

my current theory is that PJO TV is gonna go the exact same route as the movies:
Movie/Season 1 - The writing is meh and is criticized alongside the heavy deviations from the original series. Some people are staunch believers that it is too harshly criticized for being a derivative series, and they're probably right to some degree. As a stand-alone media it's somewhat confusing without original context and generally received as Medium-At-Best, but not the worst thing ever.
Movie/Season 2 - The writers respond to criticism by making changes recommended by feedback to the first [season/movie]. These changes to be closer to the books are generally regarded favorably. The second [movie/season] is regarded with little fanfare. They solve too much way too early on and essentially kill any chance for them to continue the series, but set up a continuation anyways by introducing Thalia. They announce plans for the third [movie/season] and everyone is confused.
Movie/Season 3 - Is announced but never comes to fruition and everyone is kind of relieved by that. Also I personally hope Disney+ will be dead by this point. Maybe Netflix will pick it up to go with the TKC movies. I dunno.

Hear me out (or don't... it's fine I'm just venting and mean) yeah um I don't believe Chakotay was saved in Prod*gy s2.
#the 'time travel' makes no sense when you think on it. What happened to Prime Chakotay? He got killed they showed that.#At the end s1 Janeway finds an 'alternate chakotay in an alternate timeline' and that's the one they go and get#we saw the original get merc'd in the message. That ACTUALLY happened. Lmao.....#They didn't prevent THAT death because they didn't go to THAT Solum with the Infinity and stop it from happening#instead it was 'ALTERNATE#' implying other.#OG Chakotay wasn't taken over by the alternative one either nothing suggests that was the direction for him in s2#they didn't do anything like 'well you see chakotay because at the end of s2 when we converged timestreams you have merged with your other'#if they did want to recover the original from s1 then keep that clear instead of being convoluted dont use an alternate timeline wtf#instead the plot was focused on gywns stupid fucking paradox plot and her being fixed#chakotay was the one in a paradox too did that not matter nah dw about it he had to die for this outcome or someshit lmao why#In the extended message given to admiral janeway it shows him clearly getting left behind and surrounded. I've calmed down a bit and the feeling I'm left with is the same as when your friend did something to hurt you the day before and then never apologized but instead gaslights you that it actually wasn't that bad and actually tries to justify it instead but... it really did hurt, because, I like David and trusted him, and even though I'm hurt, that feeling doesn't just magically go away, and I do hope he's okay, because if I feel this betrayed by him, I'm sure he must feel it too with so many people vocally upset. I do think he genuinely cares about the fandom and this show, I just think this was a massive mistake that wasn't thought through at all.
