uh I’m kind of distracted rn but MAN those writers sure did their best to make John and Annie’s stories creepy as hell right? John Wheeler, protege of the local pedophile and drug trafficker, telling teenage Audrey that he remembers when she was a little girl...YIKES

anyway aside from that he’s...skeevy and creepy and charmless. he makes my skin crawl

i do find it funny that little girls are like. Horror Trope scary but grown women are not? like bruh whats a little girl gonna do

i mean spooky little kids have a particular kind of Creepy and i think there’s some level of “you don’t want to hurt a child, what do you do if a little possessed demon baby is attacking you, are you gonna kick a baby” psychological complication there

but then, yeah, an adult monster/villain/etc is a WAY bigger threat :’) 

women in horror are so frequently trapped in “you’re either Sexy, an old hag, a spooky child, or a screaming shrieking banshee” and its. disappointing

are there any slasher films where the killer is a woman. i cant think of any other than jason’s mom in the first friday the 13th but everybody pretty much only remembers jason, you dont get, like, mrs voorhees merch

I literally did not know rollar coasters were ever a stereotypically “manly” thing lmao

it was like... at the beginning there was a kid joking to his friend like “haha dont be such a GIRL” bc he was scared to go on a ride (despite the fact that there were....girls... riding behind them... who were fine...) and then daphne was like “ugh who wants to go on some dumb ride and make yourself sick. only a BOY would like that” but then she finds out she loves rides, and it has nothing to do with making herself sick/anyone being sick, and she was never scared in the first place, and velma’s just kinda There, so im not really sure what point they were trying to make either
