🄻🄰🄼🄴 I've been watching BREAKING BAD lately and this word (LAME) comes exactly from the TV series. I'm pretty sure that it was Jessie who used it ;) because LAME is often used in SLANG. But let's start from the beginning… 🟠LAME /leɪm/ 1️⃣ Unable to walk properly because your leg or foot is injured or weak (🇵🇱kulawy): 🇬🇧Our dog is lame after the accident. 🇵🇱Nasz pies jest kulawy po wypadku. 2️⃣ A LAME excuse or explanation is weak and difficult to believe (🇵🇱kiepski): 🇬🇧Sam gave me some lame excuse. 🇵🇱Sam podał jakąś kiepską wymówkę. 3️⃣ IN SLANG, LAME is boring or not very good (🇵🇱słaby, nudny): 🇬🇧Their last album is lame. 🇵🇱Ich ostatni album jest słaby. 🇬🇧The party was lame. 🇵🇱Ta impreza była słaba. 🟠IDIOMS 1️⃣ A LAME DUCK is an IDIOM and it is a person or business that is having problems and needs help (🇵🇱nieudacznik, firma przynosząca straty). 2️⃣ In American English we often say A LAME ASS (🇵🇱frajer) 3️⃣ Another IDIOM with LAME is: HELP A LAME DOG OVER A STILE - it means to help somebody who needs help (🇵🇱pomóc komuś w potrzebie): 🇬🇧Mark is very kind. He always helps a lame dog over a stile. 🇵🇱Mark jest bardzo dobry.
