But if you have to choose between Newtmas and Minewt, which one you prefer ? I'm not a big Newtmas fan either, but i do love Minewt and Thomally (+Brenderesa).

Interesting question! I’d probably pick Minewt. As a preference I mean.

Wasn’t always this way, like I said, I do kind of view newtmas (or at least newt pining for Thomas) as canon for the movies. But there’s something about it that leaves me a smidge ruffled that I don’t feel in literally every other ship newt is involved in. I think it’s the way Newt’s commonly characterized in newtmas. Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a bash — there’s a reason why I do go to newtmas for fluff and flower crowns and sweet simplicity ( @onceuponabluemoon ‘s recent Greece fic for example is great and everyone should read I love their dynamic there) — but… I like Newt strong. Independent. Take no shit and even be kind of mean sometimes, he had a scathing wit in the books. To me, it seems he’s more often characterized with those things in tact with other characters (like Minho) than with Thomas. That’s why I tend not to seek Newtmas out. But maybe that’s a false perception on my part, but it’s just what I’ve seen.

dang, this was fun! I've only ever read thominho for the tmr fandom, so whilst i generally prefer enemies to lovers over friends to lovers, i think this trope fits better for my otp. and there's so much pink because we're indecisive tonight >< i've read oblivious pov and pining pov for this ship and enjoy both immensely depending on my mood (aka when im *normal* vs when im sad af just cuz). love the glade fics with special attention to snippets of their lives there, also super interested in post-tdc hcs. aus and canonverse both slaps for my otp. and my favorite tmr/thominho fanfiction is based on the books, but there are so many great ones based on the movie, as well. ehem, that bit toward the end of tst? y e s. describe to me how thomas lost his shit-

1. What job would you have if you were in the Glade? Hmm, i’m sure i couldn’t be a runner cause like… i can’t run. Being a medjack would be cool but since i’m italian i’ll probably say a cook :’D 

2. You can choose to save one person from the first book/movie, who would it be? The first uh? Not like… the last one eh? Well from the first one the answer would be Chuck <33

3. Favorite Glader slang? ALL THE SLANG TBH! It’s so cool!

4. Would you rather fight one giant griever or 25 puppy-sized grievers? 25 puppy-seized grievers…. i’d wear some thick and high boots so they can’t sting me and i’d just stomp on them, muahahah

5. Which Hogwarts house(s) do you think the mighty gladers are in? AH, that’s hard! I always wonder about this but i’m really NOT SURE! I feel like somehow they could all be Gryffindors and I honestly think Thomas is a Gryffindor. Newt could easily be an Hufflepuff tho, it would fit him so well :’) As for Minho, i remember reading a very interesting post once, explaining why he’d be a perfect Slytherin and MAN, that would be great as well! I’d like to have them all together in the same house tho :’)

What’s your OTP for your Muse?:  Let it be known that I’m a ship whore especially when it comes to Beth but my main OTPs for her are Bethyl; and BethxCarl. But if a ship is built the right way with me and developed then I can easily make something my OTP. 

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?: I’ll do just about anything when it comes down to it. As long as there is a good plot behind it then I am all for just about anything. 

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?:  This is a tough one obviously. I think that there are very few older FCs that I am willing to ship Beth with and it isn’t because of like the sex appeal or the age difference, it’s because of the chemistry. I mean obviously my OTP has a decent age gap so I think as long as there is the chemistry there, the age is kinda on the back burner. At the same time, I never rule out age difference because sometimes it just gets creepy af. So I really don’t have a definite answer for this.

Are you selective when shipping?: yes definitely. I honestly am just selective because I want ships to be developed into something not just like ‘ hey i like you. let’s fall in love. ‘ 

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NS.FW?:  probably when clothes start to come off but at the same time when hands start wandering? think around there. 

Who are other muses you ship your muse with?: I don’t really have many ships anymore but I mean... i’ve shipped with Ricks, Negans, I’ve only ever shipped with one Shane and that’s @cxldlxghtxfday ( because Quen is fucking bae ). I have OC’s that I’ve shipped with like @revolutionaryborn ( because Alister and Beth are basically OTP ). For my genderbent!beth I have a ship with a Sophia ( @havetokill ) which actually never meant to be a ship but lol look how that turned out they ruined my life. I mean as long as the chemistry is there then I will be more than happy to ship it. 

Does one have to ask to ship with you?: I mean if we are writing and our characters just click then you don’t even have to ask but I’m always afraid that I’d misinterpret something so it really never hurts to ask. I’m also extremely shy asking other people to ship or even interact so it gives me a piece of mind to know that we are on the same page if you do ask. but like I said if it’s a natural development and you like where things are going you don’t even have to ask. you can literally just be like ‘ WHY ARE THEY SO CUTE TOGETHER ‘ and I’ll probably be like ‘ IDK BUT I WANT MORE OF IT ‘. usually how my shipping convos go. 

How often do you like to ship?: I definitely don’t need to ship but I absolutely love writing ships and developing them. so often enough? 

Are you multiship?: you know it.

Are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?: I mean I can get ship obsessed but that’s just because I enjoy the ship and I love them together. I don’t need to ship Beth with everyone but when I do find a ship that I love it’s kinda hard not to be. 

What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?:  I’m just a few fandoms but for all of them ... TWD: Bethyl / Gleggie; TMR: Newtmas,/ Minewt ; GOT ( can i even be considered in this fandom ?? i’m still doing it ) : Jon x Ygritte, Sam x Gilly, Bran x Jojen.

Newt In A Suit: Chapter 5

Chapter 5 The quiet drive to the flat was interrupted by my phone ringing. Glancing at the name on the caller ID I couldn’t help but groan. It was my supervisor, James. I let the phone ring for a bit before answering the call.

“Hello James!” I said in the cheeriest voice I could muster. 

“Hello Newt,” James answered. “I’m calling about the blueprint project that you’re working on." 

 "Yeah? What about it?” My interest was suddenly peaked. 

The project was supposedly classified. I was only brought in on it because of Thomas who had insisted I help him with it. 

“Well I need you to come around to WICKED so that we can discuss it." The mention of WICKED brought my mind to Thomas. He was there too wasn’t he? No, I told myself again. You can’t keep thinking about him.  "Newt?” The voice on the phone broke me out of my trance. 

 "Yeah, yeah I’ll be there, sorry, kinda zoned it there for a moment.“ 

"Don’t worry,” James chuckled. “Happens to even the best of us. So can you drop by around four today?"  

"Of course." 

"Great! I’ll see you there." 

James hung up and the silence settled in my car once again until I reached home. Four, I thought to myself. That’s plenty of time to shower and… an evil thought popped into my mind. What if I surprised Minho and gave him the time he wanted? That’d definitely get my mind off of Thomas and back to the person that really mattered in my life, Minho. I already had an amazing idea in order to surprise Minho by the time I pulled into the parking lot and entered the flat.

Thank you for such a long answer, i still don't really like Newtmas but i understand your point of few even tho i never saw Thomas liking Newt that much in books,but i respect your opinion and it's nice you reccomend your ibfs ffs, if it was other ship i would probably checked it. Now I wonder what your Minewt long thougts are ?

Minewt long thoughts? I think you better articulate them than me in your other ask you sent me, (which are fabulous by the way don’t worry about “boring” me) but there’s just a lot of checking in that happens there that I think is just… good. I don’t know if I prefer them as a brotp or as lovers, like both just fine, but there is such good potential there. I particularly love it when Newt’s strengths are used to help Minho with his tough challenges (see @un-ah ‘s and for a woman wert thou first created for one example of a peak Minewt au with this dynamic, I also love the mob au with Minewt called Out of the Fire, there’s so much more out there too).

They’re sassy boys, who I think challenge each other but also know when to slow down. They aren’t exactly the iron sharpens iron dynamic I love of Thomally, but they’re… they’re something like it. They’re more runners who know how to set each other’s pace — they know when they need to push the other to keep time and break their record, and they know when to slow down so the other doesn’t hurt themselves. It’s built on trust, it’s built on care, it’s knowing the other is strong independently but together they’re a force.
