The first time Ryuko comes home from elementary school with scratches all over her arms and a puffy face, Katsuki’s heart sinks. His baby girl looking exactly how he did defending Deku all those years ago? Now he gets how his mom felt that day, but he knows now how to handle this before getting explosive.

“Little rough on the playground today, Princess?” He teases before picking her up and holding her to his chest. He pushes a stray hair from her face and cradles her head against him. “Wanna tell me what happened?”

“Stupid boys,” she mumbles as she stretches her little arms up and around Katsuki’s neck, moving to nuzzle into his shoulder. “Made fun’a my friend.”

“Did they hurt you?”

Ryuko shakes her head. “No…m’okay. I’m tough like you, Daddy.”

“Damn right you are.” Katsuki’s smile spreads like wildfire over his lips. “Let’s get ya cleaned up before Mama gets home. Proud of ya for standin’ up for your friend, peaches.”

Ryuko quietly giggles and closes her eyes, sighing contently. “Sorry for fightin’. I know Momma doesn’t like it.”

He laughs. “S’okay baby, ya did the right thing. Just don’t make it a habit, yeah?”

She nods her head against his shoulder. “Mhm.”

one kill la kill detail that's particularly dear to me that ive never seen anyone talk about is how blatant mako's crush on ryuko is from the get-go

like, mako doesn't really go out of her way to make friends. she's sometimes friendly with people, especially when she happens to be around them (i.e. maiko, gamagori, satsuki), but we don't really see her seek out friendship in the way she does with ryuko. they meet briefly before school, but ryuko doesn't even say a word to her. but then mako does stuff like immediately eagerly waving ryuko over in class, trying to tackle-hug her, declaring them besties because they're desk neighbors. do you think she and that guy ryuko replaced were bffs bc of this? or any of the other people mako has sat next to? no. and while one could argue that maybe she tried and failed with everyone but ryuko, her persistence when it comes to ryuko (which ryuko herself comments on and which is evident before ryuko really accepts her company (i.e. before she moves in with the mankanshokus)) doesn't seem to be present with anyone else. mako knows what it's like to be lonely, but she has no reason in particular to latch on to ryuko, other than, perhaps, that shes someone she hasn't tried yet. but she meets new people pretty often, and that doesn't lead to much interest on her end.

it seems more likely that something about ryuko caught her attention from the jump, likely how cool and pretty she is (something she talks about a LOT.) she talks (with her family) about how hot ryuko's body is, how good her old pajamas look on her, compares her tit size to satsuki's (which means she was either staring at both of theirs or that she simply feels that ryuko's are bigger, likely out of loyalty or respect for her (think big dick energy)), etc etc etc. like she's always fawning over her and cheering her on and showing her off as her "bestest friend" to mikisugi and aghhhghdfhgdjdjdh she's so gay man. what the fcuk

this isn't really present throughout the series, but she's often seen blushing or sprouting nose bleeds or ogling ryuko in early episodes. like any time there's a WOAH!!! HOTTIE BOOBA NAKED crowd reaction shot there'll often be a little mako alongside the horny guys blushing or peeking between her fingers or whatever like. she checks her out

she also is immediately very welcoming and supportive of ryuko. she tells her family to leave her alone when she's talking to senketsu and that it's not that weird, defends her in the fight club episode, literally invites her to uhaul on day one (classic lesbian maneuver) like. and she's also always talking about how close ryuko and senketsu are, that ryuko and senketsu are closer to each other than anyone else, that, while she's in ryuko's corner, she never really asserts herself as ryuko's best friend, even though she's very clear that ryuko is her best friend. she thinks she comes second. she's a very good sport about it, but something about that natural assumption that she's not her #1 is a little sad to me, though maybe she's just giving ryuko space and understanding in a very generous way. again, she's very supportive. like she's always doing what she can to cheer ryuko up or help her along, like bringing her lunches and standing up for her when the students of honouji bend the rules in their favor (like in the tennis episode). she's very "ily!!!! no pressure. but you're great :D" and i love that for her (though occasionally when shit gets dire she'll put her foot down, especially as the series goes on, i.e. rebelling against satsuki, the wedding dress scene, insisting this and that about the ryuko she knows (esp right after the time skip)

she's also got her cuddly streak. about half of it's reserved for hallelujah moments but there's also the scooter ride and her calling back monster-ryuko and the post-recovery nuzzling (i love that scene ehehhehdhdhshdgcvzkzh) and the epilogue moments and her GLOMPS

anyway my point is she loves ryuko and she does from the jump and she's great and i love her and ryuko loves her too but that's a separate post and yeah!!!!! girlfriends <3

To ME, the Ryuko/Félix (Ryulix?) dynamic is both of them being fully aware that usually Félix is perfectly fine protecting himself even without a Miraculous, with some exceptions, but Ryuko still likes to carry him like a princess and fiercely defend him from anyone who threatens and/or insults him, and Félix is blushing and giggling and kicking his feet because his queen is protecting him and it’s so nice to feel protected by someone else. They both highly capable people who like to protect AND be protected, so they take turns.

I love kill la kill. I love how seriously it takes itself. I love that it is the most unserious show I've ever seen. I love how it somehow tricks you into getting deeply invested in a genuinely philosophical battle against the very concept of clothing. I love that it does this by showing you big titty anime girl fights with animation that rivals every other show I've ever seen. I love the lesbians. I love how it fails in its concept at times, and I love how much it succeeds. I love every dumb plot twist. I love that the villains genuinely do fucked up, unforgivable shit. I love the commentary on the nature of fascism and its relation to fashion. I love every dumb joke. I love how they made an 8 foot tall muscle man who's obsessed with discipline and school regulations and then made him a giant fucking masochist with a pain kink. I love that they made that one guys nipples glow pink for literally no reason. I love the insightful commentary on the social construct of nudity and what being naked really means, and how our bodies are morally neutral. I love the dick jokes. I fucking love this show.

not to be THAT one piece fan but i will point out that in the earlier one piece seasons the fanservice isn't nearly as bad. like, this is what the main two female leads looked like at the beginning.

don't get me wrong, they definitely both had boobs but the fanservice was ignorable if you didn't want to focus on it and the majority of their outfits were actually pretty conservative as far as female anime characters go. tbh, you cou'd argue that the anime sexualized zoro a little bit too. i think the girls only got sexualized in later seasons bc of pressure from shonen jump to appeal more towards a young male audience and the fact that they got older (i don't think the mangaka knows how to realistically draw a female getting older)

but as someone whos seen fairy tail and one piece (and enjoyed both for the record) i have to give one piece it's flowers for it's writing of female characters. these two women (and many others in the series) are so fucking cool and developed and strong in a way thats really rare for a series from it's time. oda really DOES know how to write a female character, even if he's a bit shameless with how he draws them.

i miss these designs so much. nico robin (the lady in purple) is so mommy. i bet you'd like her.

ahhh i completely understand what you're saying but T-T T-T for some reason the anime double g cups and four inch waist rendered specifically in this style just hits me straight in the body dysphoria. i can't speak on the fan-service or how they're written, but unfortunately i simply Cannot View these beautiful ribcage-less women.

i don't think it's even a sexualization issue, tbh. i'm a pretty die-hard studio trigger fan so artists drawing a specific character with a pencil in one hand and their dick in the other generally doesn't bother me, but i think the one piece girls are just a little south of my 'unrealistic anime proportions' limit. uta of one piece red fame also doesn't bother me (as tested by the half million times i've watched the backlight clip), so i really think i am just deeply put-off by the absolute lack of space for internal organs in nami and robin's torsos in specific. i didn't realize the existence of anime women's small intestines was so important to me, but apparently it is.

Perfection is The Episode of all time

Cat Noir: Utterly, absolutely, totally in love! She's so amazing; I could talk about her for hours! I mean, I won't, because that would put our secret identity at risk. Ladybug: It doesn't really matter who she is, what matters the most is that she loves you back. (grunts) So, does she?

I can't believe they straight up reenact Ikari Gozen's fishing rod thing with the point of beginning for Marigami (the TV show friendship game), and then ended at City Hall (That's where all legal weddings take place) and then they pull up a barge, and the Liberty is where Kagami accidentally discovers Maribug's identity. And then we get this:

Cat Noir: What matters isn't what you tell me, it's what you tell him. (breaks the akumatized object, releasing the Megakuma inside.) Did you tell him how you feel? Ladybug: (upon capturing the Megakuma) Oh... (laughs awkwardly) everything's so natural between us we don't even need to say anything. Miraculous Ladybug! (throws the small kettle in the air and chuckles)

And the rest of the episode is Marinette fretting about Kagami for hours and not communicating because she doesn't want to disappoint her.
