He has futaba he already knows what it must be like for you maybe even worse, so he brings you stuff you like in hopes you don't turn into a fire breathing dragon and spit fire (futaba)

Offers to do your homework for you or help you with it. He wants you to rest, don't stress about it too much not like he memmorised your handwriting for this exact purpose. So what if they aren't causing you that much pain you rest watch him speed run homework.

He lays his head on your stomach sometimes, this could lead to teasing unless you were actually about to make futabas story real. "Hey leave my girlfriend alone stomach" "stop qouting that!" Getting you to laugh made it worth it

He will lay with you even if you don't ask you could take a nap and wake up with him on his phone next to you. "You're awake?" Scooing over with a chipper grin on his face he shows you his phone "take a peak at this" as he shows you the video you don't notice him sneaking his arm under your torso to pull you into his chest. "Felt that" "awe" you feel him lean over you to kiss your cheek "I woulda got you this time sure of it" smiling weakly you kiss him back "not a chance"

He does cook for you during these times. The godsend of his cooking always make you forget about the pain and misfortune of these unfortunate times. "I can spoon feed you if you want" "YES"

He looks like his brains about to explode when he learns your on your period. "Ohhh that time of the month. No biggie!" Until you didn't show up to school one day because of your cramps

He did come running to your house with pads and the plush you kept hugging when you stayed in his. "Miss l/n it's an emergency please let me stay with your daughter!" "Oh you must be Ryuji! She talks so much about you!" Her eyes water as she fondly tells him about the times you spoke about him. It was nice but what was great was sneaking away mid rant. "Y/n!" "Ryuji?!"

He takes oddly great care of you, offering you food and bringing a game with him. "You brought alot-" "well yea I didn't know what you were in the mood for so I brought everything I knew ya liked" "They're gonna last me years..." "perfect!"

Only lays next to you if you ask him to. Feels like if he moves the wrong way it'll make you uncomfortable. So when you eventually get him to lay next to you he's just a board, his mind comming up with all sorts of theories for what would happen if he even breathed wrong.

So the next day you came to school the guy was with you every step. "Ryuji your classrooms next door" "what if you pass out" "they aren't that bad worse case I end up vomiting" "what if there's no bag!" You sigh patting his shoulder "listen I'll be fine" it's gonna take the bell to ring for him to finally give in. Doesn't mean he isn't walking you home keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

maybe this is biased, but i feel out of everyone on this list hes the most prepared.

like, hes not overbearing but he knows just enough to spare you both any awkward conversations.

he doesnt have any feminine products in his bathroom since its technically shared with leblanc customers and he doesnt want to embarrass you or anyone else, but you know theres always a few of whatever you need in his school bag or his dresser!

hes a very calm person, which can be very relieving, especially when you accidentally bleed on something.

you both were hanging out one day after school, and when you got up off of his bed to go make some food, you noticed a red spot on the sheets.

you were internally freaking out, trying to figure out what to do knowing how some guys tend to find it gross, while ren literally just comments "dont worry about it, i needed motivation to do laundry anyways." and asks if you need anything.

you feel like youve just been given whiplash, no way thats it, hes so cool with it?

he even gives you a pair of his boxers and sweatpants since you bled through your clothes, and when you come out of the bathroom hes got a steaming hot cup of coffee and some chocolates on the counter all ready for you. <3

confused, embarrassed, and a little bit (a lot) dramatic. he tries to act like its not a big deal, but in reality he doesnt really know anything about periods, and hes convinced youre secretly in a lot of pain. (which i mean, you could be depending on cramps… but you get what i mean.)

hes horribly uneducated on this topic, and definitely the worst person to be stuck with when you start. 

hes calling ann asking her to explain what to do with the reddest face youve ever seen. 🧍

ryuji definitely thought it was a little gross at first too, but once he understood it was just a normal thing your body did he felt more okay about it.

hes trying super hard to be a good boyfriend, but hes stuttering over his questions. barely able to ask you if he needs to get you anything.

i swear his eyes almost popped out of his head when you said all you wanted was for him to shut up and cuddle with you. 💀💀

he tries to be there for you as much as possible, but if you tend to get more angry, just note that hell try to stay away a bit. 

he has issues keeping his temper under control, even when it comes to you, and he doesnt want to start any unnecessary arguments.

at the end of the day, communication is key when it comes to you guys relationship, he just wants whats best for both of you!

yusuke has probably never felt the touch of another human being before you so hes very… confused to say the least.

what do you mean youre bleeding? and its normal? this happens monthly? his mind is blown.

i dont see him being weird in the way he wants to use your period as inspiration for a painting, but weird in the way that hell track it.

maybe this just a personal thing who finds it weird when a guy wants to track when your on your cycle, but it seems right up yusukes alley 😭.

hes a little strange, and he just wants to help! but he also doesnt really know what hes doing, so his presence can be a bit overwhelming.

gets pouty when you end up snapping at him, but once you explain why hes a lot more aware of how much hes bothering you.

hes also willing to get you whatever you need, as long as youre buying.

one time you had asked him to get you pads/tampons, and he called you 30 minutes later saying that he didnt have any money…

however, unlike someone else on this list, hes not embarrassed about it. more so genuinely curious, as he loves learning about you and he thinks its important to know how your body works!

hell probably draw you something nice as well if it makes you feel better. :)

oh boy, akechi sure is a character. and i think with him it depends.

usually though hes just a pretty average guy. hes not stupid, but he also isnt the best at understanding your emotions, or his own, for that matter.

youre in public, akechi talking to one of the tv hosts after hes finished appearing on a show, and you gently tug on his jacket to let him know you started your period, and need the restroom. 

hes conflicted, whats supposed to come first, you or his reputation? when it comes to him, he makes any simple situation way more complicated in his head.

he makes an eternal sacrifice to shoo away the people talking to him, and he quickly takes off his jacket to wrap it around your waist. you both find a bathroom nearby and he paitently waits for you outside.

when you walk out, he offers to pick up whatever you may need (including some food) and take you home.

at your front door, he kisses your cheek, but cant help but noticed the nervous expression on your face.

its only then when you mention that akechis jacket is, in fact, a light color, and is most definitely stained now with bright red blood. his face goes blank, and youre worried for a second he might be mad.

he only shrugs at that, same detective prince smile as always, and jokes that youre paying for his dry cleaning.

Akira can do more then just hunting. But he prefers not to kill. He rather drinks blood that was donated.

However he would never hurt you. If he is hungry or if it's Blood Moon he will stay as far away from you as possible. He couldn't never forgive himself if he hurt you.

Akira will do everything to protect you if you are a dark fantersy being yourself. And if not he will protect you from them.

The Thieves made a pact to never Touch each other's S/O. Wich means you can chill with everyone in the room even if Akira is not there. All Thieves will protect you.

He is a Changeling. He can take on forms that you will never be able to Think of.

He once pretend to be your dead sibling wich made you sad. He never did this again after that.

Changeling's form a bond with theire s/o. Said bond won't allow them to hurt/eat there s/o.

He will protect you from everyone and everything. He loves you dearly, and no-one will hurt you under his watch.

Drawing with blood is normal for Yusuke. After what happens mit Madarame he started painting his with blood.

Yusuke Kitagawa: a strong and dangerous Ghoule. He eats basically everything.

Do not talk to him wenn he is eating. Ghoule's don't like this. And Yusuke is no exception. However his reason is to not traumatize you. After all he literally heat Humen Organs.

He would never hurt you. Even if he has the urge to bite you and eat you alive. But he will just leave and get something to eat.

However if you are a dark fantersy being yourself he will help you hunt prey

No matter what being you are, your safe around Akechi. He mind look every dangerous with the black liquid coming from his eyes, and the dark aura that surrounds him, and he is dangerous if need to be, but in private he is soft and rather lovely.

Akechi is a fallen Angel. His black angel wings and his bloody red Hailo glow in the moonlight. Both part are hidebly. If you didn't know better you couldn't think he is a humen.

If you are a dark being he will go hunting with you, cover your tracks and shears his meals with you.

Akechi still is a detective. He covers the murders that the Phantomthieves do. He is loyal to them. The thieves safe't his life. He is greatfull to them.

Its feathers are soft yet sharp. He lets you touch them, but he makes sure you don't hurt yourself.

He can take of his Hailo aswell. So if you want to wear it he will put it on your head. He can't take it. You are just to cute.

Honestly just imagining short people Kabedon makes my heart flutter in happiness, I can’t imagine how cute they would look like. but thank you for the request, here you go ayaseijuuro - Also lowkey trying my best to deliver a kabedon experience and this is probably gonna be shit because I never thought of short people kabedon-ing

Even with his perceptive, quiet, and quite observant nature; he couldn’t see this one coming. The last thing he expected from his timid S/O was an attempt at a Kabedon.

Once S/O slams their hand against the wall, which barely reaches Akira’s chest in terms of height; he presses his back in surprise and looks at them with a confused expression.

He’d be quick to pick-up and process what’s happening but, he was definitely caught off-guard.

Kneeling down a little and allowing his gray eyes to meet S/O’s alluring eyes; he’d give a faint smile and a slight blush would be apparent on his face.

He’d immediately play along and be the role of the victim, faking being trapped in a box between their hands and under their mercy. but he certainly enjoys it.

Ryuji

I can imagine him being quite intimidated by the thought of doing a Kabedon to his S/O, he’s quite afraid of any physical interactions and he’s constantly worried if he, somehow, upset them by attempting to do any kind of affectionate interaction. Of course, this only happens early in the relationship.

That is, until S/O attempts to Kabedon him, trapping him between their two arms while they keep their head down.

He would most likely be flustered and he would blush a lot, not really knowing what to do in this situation and being lost in thought; but S/O’s voice snaps him awake after a few minutes of silence.

“W-Why aren’t you doing anything?” They say, “..I-I’m sorry, I don’t know what to d-..” He would cut himself off and take a deep breath, he gently grabs S/O’s arms and flips them over, switching the roles as they get cornered between his arms.

“I think this is how it should be, yeah?” He would say while blushing, trying his best to maintain his composure as he looks down at S/O’s demure face.

Yusuke

He’s quite dense when it comes to physical affection, and he probably doesn’t even know what a Kabedon is.

Their S/O would put a hand in front of him and try to pin him against the wall, but they are much shorter than him and most likely lack the muscles to be able to pin him in place.

“Is there something wrong that I’m unaware of?” He speaks in a soft voice tone, adjusting a strand of his hair as he leans onto the wall, completely oblivious about this sign of affection and misinterpreting it as a sign of their anger.

Once S/O proceeds to explain to him through a reddening blush, he would give a soft chuckle and quietly ask if they should be the one doing this to him.

Whatever their choice, he would agree and play either of the roles.

However, he does find it quite intriguing that their S/O would attempt to do such a thing, their hands are on the same level as his waist and he would need to glance down in order to look them in the eye.

Overall he’d be quite fascinated by this new prospect.

Akechi

With his busy high school life, he wouldn’t have that much time for his S/O,  To put it another way, he needs the time with his S/O to get a breather from all the work and the stress he’s going through.

A Kabedon is most likely a pleasant surprise for him, and the fact that S/O is shorter than him makes it that much more stimulating for him.

He would immediately bend down slightly to maintain an eye to eye level with S/O, and he would have the most appealing facial expression.

“So you’re finally deciding to give me what I want huh?” he says with a smile, before looking around slightly. “But maybe we shouldn’t be doing it in public, you know how it is with me and the public.”

But S/O’s stubborn and pushy essence wouldn’t give up so easily, they would pin him a bit harder and he would immediately reciprocate with pushing back slightly and gently, making it clear that he appreciates them doing this for him. and how much it is proving useful in calming him down.

But he wouldn’t hesitate to tease them afterwards, and would most likely kabedon them himself sometime in the future.

You spent your entire free period up on that roof, hoping by some miracle that you weren’t crazy, that the group of second-year students that had seemingly vanished before your eyes were in fact pranking you, and upon seeing that you weren’t amused, would get tired of hiding and pop out, finishing the surprise. No such luck, however, and so you left, the second-period bell forcing your hand. Spending the first period of your day - a bit of free time meant for studying, finishing homework, or otherwise enriching yourself educationally - up on the roof and unaccounted for by any teachers was a bit risky already, and you were a decent enough student. There was no way you could just sit there all day, skipping the rest of your classes. Sighing, you resolved to just give up the hunt for your destined main character and by extension the group of potential new friends.

Often after school, you headed to the library, which stayed open along with a select few other areas of Shujin for student use after the last bell rang. Today, however, you felt drawn back to that place, back to that rooftop where you’d seen Akira, Ryuji, and Ann disappear hours earlier. It just wasn’t sitting right with you; you felt a stirring in your soul, like a tiny voice in your head, a shimmering blue butterfly in your stomach. Lucky for you, the rooftop was also open, though you’d never really spent time there. Certain students, including another third-year you admired raised plants up there where the sun could reach them, while others simply came up there for the view or the breeze, some private space to study.

Today, the breeze was indeed blowing, and you sat there writing as it whistled past your ears, polishing up some plot points, scrawling down ideas for your protagonist straight from the imagination, since it seemed you wouldn’t be finding any real-life inspiration anytime soon. It was frustrating, writer’s block, and for the past month or so, it’s all you could do to write a single paragraph. You always found yourself lost in the pages of the novels you loved, and you could identify great writing, appreciate the artistry of another writer, but it was sometimes so hard to put your own thoughts down on the pages of your journal. Why was it so hard? You knew what real romance was. You knew which themes and cliches were overdone and unrealistic. You had a mature and healthy outlook on real relationships and could pick apart the stereotypical female protagonist who was strong and independent until she met the man who would break down her walls or the toxic bad boy who women loved on paper but would cry their eyes out over in real life. You’d read thousands of books and fan-fiction, listened to hundreds of audiobooks, watched tons of romance movies, so why, lately, was it not clicking?! Where was the disconnect between having thoughts and transcribing said thoughts down into your very own masterpiece? Fantasy came so easily to you, sci-fi, non-fiction essays for class, mysteries, research papers, but romance, the genre you loved the most, seemed to purposely elude you.

You were shaken out of your frazzled state when something caught your attention out of the corner of your eye. Shaking your head a bit to try and focus your vision, you looked over your shoulder to see that the black spot on the fringe of your blind spot was in fact actually there. You rubbed your eyes just to be sure, but there it was, a wavering black inky spot hovering in the air. Another appeared, then another, now red in color. You were beginning to feel insane for the second time that day, but rather safe than sorry, you quickly stood, shoving your work and pencils into your bag and shuffling away from the blobs, which were now oscillating and dancing around each other, phasing in and out of existence like a fisheye lens. This was a bit too freaky for your liking, and you were beginning to feel a frightening chill up your spine. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up, and you elected to put some kind of barrier of safety between yourself and the floating bubbles. Like any rational person, your mind was screaming “unknown situation: possible threat: run!” but again, that little butterfly in the pit of your guts was saying there was something worth staying for. So, running to the door to the roof, you swung it open, a ringing in your ear starting to buzz and chime. You closed it frantically, pressing your nose up against the small glass windows that allowed a limited view of the roof. A small gasp escaped your lips, and you instinctively grabbed onto your bag a bit tighter.

The red and black splotches began to dissipate and fade like some kind of glitch in reality, and three figures appeared like mist, like ghosts before beginning to solidify and slowly become tangible silhouettes. Then, as if some kind of magic ritual was coming to a close, the figures poofed into existence, and your brain processed the scene before you.

“Holy shit…” you whispered. There, clear as day were Sakamoto, Takamaki, and the new kid. They were just standing adjusting their clothes, stretching their arms and legs, situating their personal items. It was just then that you saw a little furry head poke up out of Akira’s school bag. Your harsh, analytical gaze softened a bit upon seeing the small black cat that appeared. Had he been carrying that cat around all day? Surely not, right? How would he keep it quiet and still? “What the…?” The inquisitive glare returned to your features when they began… speaking to the cat. It wasn’t the cute baby talk people often use with their pets, either. It was a full-on, serious conversation, and the cat was meowing back, clearly, in response to their statements.

It was a bit muffled by the thick door, but you could make out bits and pieces.

 Metaverse? Palace. Shadows... treasure? Kamoshida? Great, that asshole, but what could he have to do with this? What even was this? 

You were questioning everything you knew. You were wondering if the juice you had this morning at breakfast was spiked. There was no winning in this scenario, either you were crazy, or these kids were. You looked downward, contemplating your navel as your mind tried to make sense of the events of today. You glanced up again, trying to eavesdrop a little better, get some more detail. You took a step closer, trying to will the sound of their voices through the door to be just a little louder, just a little clearer, when Sakamoto suddenly pivoted, stretching and cracking his spine with a sigh.

“Gah!”  You shouted out. His eyes met yours through the window and widened like a kid caught in the cookie jar. You jumped with a start, taking a cautionary step back and nearly tumbling down the stairs. It was a miracle you caught yourself in time, but your little outburst had definitely caught the attention of the group. Your cover was thoroughly blown. “Oh, no…” You cursed under your breath, spotting both Ann and Akira’s eyes on you now as well.

“Shit! Do you think they saw?” Ryuji’s hands flew to his hair, mussing and working out his frustrations on the dyed strands while simultaneously, Akira was already in motion, rushing toward the door to apprehend the unwelcome listener.

Your heartbeat sped up, and like a gazelle spotted by a lion, a fire was lit under you and you began to sprint, clumsily fumbling down the stairwell and onto the flat platform where the stairs rotated 90 degrees and continued downward. Inhaling sharply, your foot, nervous and supporting jelly-like legs, missed the final step. Your belongings, along with your body, spilled across the square, flat platform, and the door behind you slammed open.

“Hey!” Akira’s yell echoed through the stairwell, and your thoughts bounced off the walls just like his voice. Scrambling, you scooped only the essentials into your hands: your journal, the phone of course, a few homework binders, ditching the easily replaceable items like chewing gum and pencils. Taking to one scraped-up knee and ready to bolt, you felt a hand close upon your bicep and clamp down firmly. “Hey, hey… slow down.” Akira again, now gentler with his tone, spun you around to face him. You stood clutching your things to your chest like a life preserver. “I’m not gonna like… kill you or anything.” A breathy chuckle, and now he was on the platform next to you, scanning you up and down for injuries with his hands in his pockets. “So, uh… so don’t kill yourself by fallin’ down these stairs, huh?” He played off the tense feeling in the air with humor, but the sheer proximity of him, standing there in front of you mere inches away in the cramped space, it was like you could hear your blood pounding in your ears.

What was he thinking right now? Did he think you were some weirdo stalker? I mean, you’d just met him this morning and now you were watching him through a small window like a creep after school… after following him there. Wait, that wasn’t important right now! Was he going to kill you? He didn’t seem like the type of guy to do that, but then again, he didn’t seem like the type to phase in and out of existence either… neither did Ryuji and Ann… what were people with powers like that capable of?

Right now, you were just going to mind your business, and play it safe. It wasn’t worth getting mixed up with people who warp through a “metaverse” and talk to animals just for some good writing material, not if it turned out to be dangerous.

“Well…” you hesitated, “it’s none of my business, what I just saw, and I won’t tell anyone.” You breathed a little easier, tried to regain your composure, to not look too weak.

“So they did see! Awww, shit!” Ryuji’s head popped through the door, interrupting the uncomfortable conversation, and the hot air of the enclosed space was cut through by a gust of wind from the now open rooftop door.

“Now, just hold on, Ryuji,” Akira held out one hand to placate his rather temperamental friend.

“No, no really it’s fine that you talk to your… cat and just… vanish... and I’m sure it’s all fine and multiverse-y and…”

“Metaverse.” Akira corrected you with a small smile, bending down to pick up the rest of your scattered objects.

“Dude!” Ryuji ran a hand down his face in defeat.

“They saw us, no point in being tight-lipped,” he stood, handing them to you.

“Metaverse… right,” you took them, watching every move he made carefully. “Sorry, I’m… a bit more... eloquent in my writing,” you moved to the side, ready to sneak past and descend the rest of the stairs. Anything to get on with your day and escape this unbelievable situation. Akira shuffled, mirroring you and completely blocking the stairwell. There was something clever about him, something sharp and charismatic. He knew exactly what he was doing, what he wanted to achieve, and he knew how to calmly and smoothly execute his plans, unlike Sakamoto, who was far less… organized.

“Writing…?” He was keeping you locked into this conversation, as gently and amiably as he could, and you were not leaving until he was sure he could trust your word.

“Uh… yeah, that’s why I was up…” your eyes met his, quickly recoiling and looking toward the floor again, “...up on the roof. I was just looking for a quiet place to write.”

“What, uh, what kind of stuff do you write?” Ann had now joined Ryuji at the top of the stairs, leaving you feeling completely caged in. Ann threw Akira - who seemed like the leader of the small band of misfits - a desperate glance, a sort of look that seemed to ask: “Where are you going with this? Are we screwed?”

“It’s… it’s kind of private. It’s just… romance stuff. I don’t know, I do all kinds of different stuff, whatever I’m in the mood for.” Akira nodded, more to his friends than you, something you had a feeling you weren’t supposed to pick up on. He stuck his hand out flat, gesturing toward the rooftop behind you. You took the hint, heading a bit anxiously back up the stairs, Ryuji and Ann making way for you.

“You any good?” Akira followed behind you, and now on the rooftop once again, the cool air felt freeing, less constricting, though his question felt a bit insulting, a bit nosey.

“I don’t know… I’ve been told I am…” The three friends took a seat in areas that seemed very familiar to them, like they’d been up here warping in and out of this realm many times before. Now settled into place, Ann spoke up, obviously as apprehensive as you were:

“Well do you… do you think…?” Her high-pitched voice seemed to be hesitant, not yet confident in her next words, not sure if they were all on the same page.

“Yeah, my thoughts exactly,” Akira smirked as if the three had one mind. He turned to you, trying to make eye contact that you vehemently avoided. “How would you feel about helping us out?”

You’re taking requests you say? How about Ryuji and his childhood friend who’ve known each other since for ever coming together after years of mutual pining? Like, super obvious for everyone else but somehow not obvious for them pining?

Finally it’s out! Hope this satisfies all of you who wanted a reader x Ryuji. Not gonna lie but um, I’m not too good at writing for Ryuji. But as always, I tried. Now, do I make this filled with angst, or leave it be? Hmmm…..K, lets see where this goes. 

Becoming friends was destiny.

But what about becoming lovers?

Ryuji and you have been best friends since forever. With both of your moms being very close, It was only fate that’d the two of you would eventually become best friends too. Ryuji still remembers the time when the two of you were goofing off in the park not to far from your house, when you were 4 years old. Maybe the two of you should’ve thought twice before climbing up that tree.

“Errrr..Ryuji?” You clung tightly to one of the branches on the tall, sakura tree. “Yeah?” Ryuji stood tall with a bright smile etched on his face, looking proud; being able to climb this tree. “H-how are we supposed to g-get down?” Ryuji’s eyes widened in shock as he realized the situation they were in. As soon as the shock settled in, Ryuji scoured the area in search of anyone who could help the two of you. He didn’t see anyone around. To get out of this predicament, there was only one solution; jump.

“Uh y/n?”

“Y-yeah?”

“We’re gonna hafta jump.”

“….WHAT?!”

Yeah, he didn’t like the idea either, but it was the only way out of the tree. He offered to jump off first, then he’d catch you when you’d fall. You reluctantly agreed, still clinging tightly to the branch even as it scratched your arm if you moved just the tiniest bit. Ryuji jumped off of the branch and on to the blades of grass, landing on his feet, retaining his balance. Now it was your turn. You felt like a cat stuck up in a tree, except the cat was more likely to land on its feet than you surviving the fall. “y/n! C’mon, I’ll catch ya! Don’t worry!” and with that, you slowly got up, gripping the tree for support, and jumped. “AAHHH!!” Ryuji tried to catch you but he was far off from the place he’d thought you would land. Ryuji ran to you to see if you were alright but instead, he found you crying. You scratched your knee badly in the aftermath of the fall. “H-hey don’t worry, let’s go home and patch that up!” His reassurance calmed you down and you tried to get up. Unfortunately, your knee was in worse shape than it looked. You winced in pain as you tried to get up. Ryuji realized that you couldn’t walk and felt responsible for this whole situation. “Don’t try to walk. Here, I’ll carry you on my back!” He got down so you could limp over and climb up on top of his back. Ryuji quickly got up and rushed to get you back home. “I’m s-sorry. For let’n you fall back there.” He said, sitting beside you on your sofa as your mom tended to your wound. “No worries, I don’t think I could’ve caught you either.” The two of you laughed off the whole situation..

When the both of you started kindergarten, you two stuck to each other like glue. Quite literally in fact. Being the mischievous kids you were, for one experiment in class that required super glue, the two of you stole it while the teacher had been facing the opposite direction. Both of you messed around with the sticky substance and when you tried to give Ryuji a high five for completing this heist without the teacher finding out, you soon realized that your hands were stuck to one another. After your many failed attempts of freeing yourselves, the two of you gave in and let the teacher know about the ‘sticky’ situation you had gotten yourselves into. That only lead to more trouble involving your parents. Although, your parents only blamed the teacher for the situation the two of you were in. I mean, who allows super glue into a class filled with kindergarteners!?

Everyone in the whole school knew about how the two of you were inseparable. Always together no matter what the situation, and always backing the other up whenever the other was in an undesirable situation. Many strangers would usually confuse the two of you as siblings. Eventually, the two of you stopped trying to correct them and instead sarcastically said, “Yeah, we’re fraternal twins.”

You trusted Ryuji with all of your secrets like he trusted you to listen to his troubles. There was a day when Ryuji’s dad beat his mom up, giving her a black eye. You were there listening to his anger and hatred towards his so-called dad. That day you took Ryuji out to get some steak at the beef bowl shop. After the two of you finished, you bid your farewells and parted ways. Although he was heading back home, you decided to make a quick stop at the convenience store.          

The next day Ryuji woke to the sound of his dad crying about his car. He went outside to figure what happened, only to see that the tires of the car had been slashed. Your name was written all over this ‘crime’ or how he like to call it, revenge. He quickly ran over to your house and gave you the biggest hug he could muster up. Although the two of you hugged each other several times before, to him, this one felt more special.

When puberty hit Ryuji, the relationship between the two of you stayed relatively the same except, Ryuji grew romantic feelings for you. He loved the smile you gave him when he would make you laugh, that smile could even make the darkest of times bright. How you always checked in on him to make sure of his well being. Even if it was just by a simple text, it meant the world to him. Ryuji cherished the times your cheeks would turn into a light shade of rose whenever you were.  His adoration had reached the point where his heart would beat rapidly whenever he was an inch to close to you.

He would occasionally try to make a move by taking you out to places you liked, buying you whatever it was that you had your sights on. You would argue with him to not spoil you with all by buying you all those little trinkets, but he never seemed to listen. He would also compliment you at every given moment. Although to you, you took his overly generous behaviour as nothing more than him being friendly. Including that one time in middle school where he brought you a bouquet of your favourite flowers. Two days before he brought the bouquet, you had told him about how your dog had gone missing. You cried your heart out to him as he sat there listening and comforting you. So you ended up thinking that the bouquet was just a kind gesture, not a romantic one.

You even told Ann, who at the time was one of your close friends, about how sweet it was for Ryuji to give you a bouquet for the loss of your dog. Although the whole time, Ann stared at you with one of the most questioning glare you’ve ever seen. You asked her after what that face was about. She answered with a question of her own, “Are you sure that’s why he gave it to you?” You took a moment just analyzing what she had meant. “Yeah, obviously. Why else would he give it to me?” Ann simply replied with a simple ‘Alright’ before changing the topic. Although, Ann’s question stuck with you the whole day. You couldn’t get it out of your head. ‘I mean, why else would he give it to me??’ You repeatedly told yourself throughout the day.   

Ryuji wasn’t as big of a fool as everyone thought of him to be. He knew how clueless you were to his attempts at flirting. He tried his best at stepping up his game so that you would finally notice that he’s been trying to flirt with you. But as overt his flirting was, you never seemed to get the hint. At this point, Ann had enough of Ryuji’s fruitless endeavors at flirting with you. Ann had just been sitting on the sidelines watching all of this unravel, cringing at Ryuji’s very pathetic flirting. Having seen enough of this hopeless, lovestruck train wreck, she offered to help Ryuji confess his love to you. Or at least make it known to you about his feelings.

For the next year, Ann would continually ask you on your opinion of Ryuji. Everytime you’d respond with the same thing “His the best friend anyone could have!” Tho, you grew very suspicious of this paraphrased question, you never asked Ann about it. Sometimes Ann would nudge you into telling her what kind of guy you were into. This got annoying really fast so anytime she would bring up anything about boys, you’d quickly evacuate the scene without sparing so much of a glance towards Ann. She would quickly catch up to you and apologize profusely, and with a huff you’d forgive her. But even this didn’t stop her from asking what you thought of Ryuji. Slowly that question was drilled into your mind to the point where you weren’t so sure what you felt for Ryuji anymore.

Was it admiration? Or could it have been a-affection?

‘NO! No? No, It couldn’t be! We’re just friends, I mean, isn’t that what he thinks of us, right?’ You rolled over on your bed, hiding your heated cheeks in the pillows.

After that thought loomed in your head, you felt just a tad bit awkward around Ryuji. It was weird. You never felt uncomfortable around Ryuji before, in fact you felt right at home whenever he was around. So why was the thought of either one of you have feelings for one another urking you? After all there was a hidden part of you that longed to be with Ryuji, locked far away in the depths in your heart.

Yes, it was true. You began to have romantic feelings towards too. Except you would never reveal them to him for the simple reason; you didn’t want things to change between the two of you. You liked the way things were between the two of you right now, and you were afraid that if you told him, things between you and him would never be the same. Still being the clueless anime protag that you were, you had no idea that Ryuji had feelings for you too. You still wanted to confess your heart out to him, but you were just too afraid to do so.

“Whad'ya mean you’re moving?!” Ryuji exclaimed as he shot up from the school bench. “Ryuji be a little quieter! We don’t want the whole world to know!” You retorted back to the distressed teen. “Okay, okay but you’re seriously leaving?! Whadda ‘bout High school? Weren’t we gonna go together?” He asked, sounding increasingly distraught. “I-I don’t know..We’re leaving later this month. Dad got a promotion in Yokohama, so w-we’re moving there. I really don’t want to go, Ryuji..I don’t wanna leave you..” Your voice became softer and softer until it was nothing but a murmur. Ryuji saw tears swelling up in your eyes. He sat back down on the bench and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer to him. “Hey, It’s gonna be ok. I’ll always try to visit, and oh we can talk over the phone all the time too! This won’t change nothing, we’ll..we’ll always be best friends..” His heart hurt saying that, but Ryuji knew that you didn’t need a confession right now. What you needed was your best friend being there for you. If he confessed right now, you’d feel even more guilty having to leave.

After you left, things only went down hill for Ryuji. Losing his best friend created this hole in his heart which refused to seal itself. High School was only hell waiting for Ryuji to enter it through its doors. After Kamoshida broke his leg and took away the only thing Ryuji had going for him (the track team), he became an outcast. A delinquent, a vulgar boy, not to mention the track traitor. All he ever wished for was that you’d move back and be there with him. He already knew that if you had been here with him, nothing else would matter. Not how the teachers viewed him, not how the students judged him, not even how the whole world saw him. It wouldn’t have mattered since you would’ve been there for him, that’s all he needed. He would text you everyday, and call every so often. But it all seemed to change so quickly. You grew busy and the calls stopped. You would text each other when you could, but even that stopped when you two reached the second year of highschool. Ryuji’s feelings never seemed to fade even after you left, so when the texts stopped, it hurt him worse than any beating from Kamoshida could.  Although the world wasn’t as cruel as it seemed to be after all, he joined the phantom thieves and went on one of the greatest adventures life could’ve offered him. He was lucky to make such great friends as well as playing a part in saving all of humanity from ruin. He was finally happy, only one thing could make him more happier than he already was; telling you he still loved you. With a heartfilled text he wrote to you that he missed you, and wanted to be able to call you his. Now, he anxiously waited for your response, but it never came. A week later, he found out why.

“Ryuji dear, is that you?” Ryuji turned to see an elderly women dressed in all black. Ryuji immediately knew who this lady was, it was none other than your mother. Something was wrong, it was evident through her expression. “Mrs. l/n! What’re you doing here? I-is y/n with you?” Ryuji stuttered. The women looked up at Ryuji, tears filled her eyes. “I’m afraid, she’s..she’s g-gone dear.” With that, the world around Ryuji collapsed. Shattering into little pieces that vanished on impact; never to be seen again. “W-what d-do you mean?” Beads of sweat began gathering around his crown, anticipating an answer that would prove that you weren’t dead. Something to tell him that you were ok and were maybe just on a trip or something. “A week ago, she decided that she was going to pay you a surprise visit, but that never happened. On her way, she was killed by a-a speeding truck driver. S-she didn’t get out of the way fast enough. I came here to invite you to her funeral, she really liked you. S-she wanted to tell you but never got the chance.” The tears in the lady’s eyes poured out. Ryuji was stiff. He fell to the ground, crying up a rainstorm. You died because of him. If he hadn’t confessed that day, you would’ve never come running for him. You would’ve still been alive and happy without him. This was all his fault. If he wanted to confess, he should’ve done it while you were still beside him. He was a fool to think that maybe you could’ve been his. It was never meant to be. Ryuji looked down at your grave, planting beside it the same bouquet that he gave to you as kids. He bent down, the snow on the ground damping his knees.

“I’m sorry..”  

The Phantom Thieves were all anyone could talk about. No one really knew who they were, or how they pulled off their heists. Ryuji was a very lucky one to be able to say how they were able to pull off everything, because he was one of them. The team consisted of him, Akira, Morgana, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto and Futaba. Currently, the fearless team was lounging around, relaxing after another energy depriving metaverse trip. Makoto was finishing whatever was left of her homework at this point. Futaba and Yusuke were bickering about another one of their random topics again. Akira sat beside Makoto with Morgana on his lap, lecturing him to get to bed on time. Ann and Ryuji sat together, Ann looking through a fashion magazine while Ryuji fiddled with his phone trying to start a conversation with you again. “Who’re you texting?” Ann asked abruptly, gaining everyone’s attention in the room. “N-noone! W-why didja wanna know anyway!?” Ryuji retorted, still startled by her question. “OOOOOO! Are you texting y/n again?!”  Ann exclaimed with a twinkle in her eyes. “y/n?” Yusuke asked. “Yeah, she’s been Ryuji’s best friend since forever. She moved away like 3 ish years ago. Ryuji here, had a gigantic crush on her but was to much of a coward to just ask her out.” Everyone’s gaze fell onto Ryuji who was basically a tomato at this point. “H-hey, I tried ask’n her out but..y’know, I couldn’t tell if she was into me that way.” He explained sheepishly. “Why don’t you try to ask her now?” Makoto spoke up. “I-uhh, I dunno.” Ann shot up, startling everyone yet again. “Why don’t we set the two of you up!? It’ll be perfect! You to can meet up, talk for awhile, then baam! Hit her with the question!” Everyone agreed, wanting to help their hopeless lover out. “Then it’s settled! Let’s get this show on the road!”

Ryuji waited for you at the train station, wearing the cleanest clothes he had. God knows what Ann would do he he wasn’t. Ryuji started to sweat profusely as train got closer to the station. The thought of seeing you after 3 years was absolutely terrifying, especially since Ryuji was going to confess to you today. The train arrived and Ryuji’s heartbeat was rapidly beating. Then he saw you and his cheeks turned bright pink, you were absolutely stunning. He saw your face light up when you saw him. Suddenly you raced towards him, tackling him to the ground him, giving a hug. “Ryuji! I missed you so much!” You exclaimed. “I-I missed you too y/n.” Ryuji was flustered, heat radiating from his face. You got off of Ryuji before you created a scene in the train station. You helped Ryuji up and before he could say anything, you confessed your feelings to him. “Ryuji there’s something that I’ve been wanting to tell you forever, and I’m gonna tell you this now before I lose the chance to!” Ryuji was shocked. This was the moment he’d dreamed of since forever. “I love you, and I’ve had these feelings for you since we were in middle school.” You fiddled with your hair nervously, looking down at the ground. ‘Well, this went better than I thought It would! We didn’t even needa go through with the whole plan!’ He lifted you chin up, so that you were looking directly into his eyes, he continued to plant a soft, sweet kiss on your lips. It was as if his body moved for him, acting on impulse. His lips parted from yours, yet they were barely an inch away form them. He thought before he spoke up. “Truth is, I love you too. I’m just kinda sorry it took me this long to tell ya.”

honestly, yusuke gives off theater kid vibes too so i see him being really excited to catch you singing!

you were over at his dorm, watching him sketch out his newest painting. there was some conversation between the two of you but you let him do most of the talking as not to disturb him too much.

you ended up suggesting to play some music in the background to fill the space, to which he nodded to, not really paying much attention.

you both sat in silence for a bit, simply enjoying each others company as the music played in the background.

was he disgusted? or just really surprised? it was always hard to tell with him.

you prayed it was the latter, and continued to sing along, more dramatically, like it was the most important performance of your life. you could see him laugh fondly.

once you were finished, he set his bag down on the kitchen counter to greet you properly.

“i didnt know you were so talented.” he responded blankly, “is there anything you *arent* good at?” he joked.

you laughed, pressing a kiss to his cheek before playfully responding, “oh no! looks like the detective prince caught me!” and running to hide under a blanket on the couch.
