Taking daiya fic requests

Trying out taking requests in 2019 - Misawa, Ryouharu, Furusawa. Ask me about other Act I ships and I’ll see if I can figure something out - like whether the prompt and ships can be woven into a fic in my head! I’ll post the requests on ao3 and link them here.

If you have a prompt such as an event, setting, item or whatever just let me know! Something brief is best because it allows more freedom to create/interpret the idea in a given direction. Also a warning, my work is usually NSFW so please bear that in mind when you request - apologies if that’s not your thing!

Fic: Interdependence

A/N: Haruichi tries to be there for Ryousuke in his own way.

Haruichi follows wordlessly behind him, head bowed down as his hands wring nervously in front of him.

"Stop following me." Ryousuke’s voice cuts through the silence as he reaches the entrance of the dormitories, coming to a stop at the gates. Even after a few years of separation, Haruichi can tell that his voice is tight and notes the slight tremor of syllables - but that isn’t enough for him. He wants Ryousuke to turn to face him, unguarded: he wants to be able to tell how much - and for how long - he has strained himself; he wants him to stop hiding everything and give him a chance to be his support, even if only once.

"Aniki," Haruichi whispers, the underlying plea unmistakable as he forces his feet forward till there’s only an arm’s length between their bodies. He can see the stains of mud from the practice earlier; a translucent patch where his shirt sticks to his back with the layer of sweat and Haruichi notes how he is leaning his weight on a particular side. His fingers twitch by his sides, itching to gather the material of his shirt and pull him close.

Ryousuke pauses for a fraction of a second after he calls him and continues forward to his room. Haruichi hurriedly trails after him, chewing worriedly on his bottom lip. Though Ryousuke hasn’t complained about his injury, he can tell he’s limping, however subtly and - scarily - well he’s hiding it.

"Are you going to come in, too?" Ryousuke’s hand hovers over the doorknob as he averts his face slightly to his direction, and Haruichi barely resists from flinching at how bitingly cold he sounds. Straightening his back, he raises his head and nods resolutely.

Ryousuke pushes the door open and steps in, not bothering to close it. Taking it as an invitation, the younger Kominato enters the room and shuts the door quietly after him. He finds his elder brother sitting on the bottom of the bunk bed, his fingers steepled, arms resting on his lap. Haruichi takes in several deep breaths, focusing on the pile of textbooks neatly stacked on the study table just next to him, it’s almost difficult to breathe - it has been too long since they are left alone like this.

He pushes his thoughts to the back of his mind - there’re more pressing matters to attend to now. Not deterred by the fringe that’s often thought to obscure his vision, he sweeps his gaze around the room, “Where’s the kit?”

"Bottom drawer, left of the table," comes his reply a second later. Haruichi is momentarily startled by his willingness to cooperate but doesn’t show it, finding the kit where Ryousuke had mentioned it was. He makes his way over to the bed and kneels down before him, flipping the kit open. This has to be the first time he’s taking care of Ryousuke - all the while he has always been a reliable older brother, giving support where Haruichi needs the most. He has always wanted to do something for him in return, but..

It’s quiet for a few minutes as Haruichi unscrews the cap of the ointment and applies it to Ryousuke’s swollen ankle, feeling his brows crease - it looks worse than he thought it’d be. He chances a look at his brother’s face as he starts massaging his ankle with careful pressure; but it is phlegmatic, save for the sweat trickling down his chin and the clenching of his jaw as the elder Kominato watches him work. One of Ryousuke’s brows raises slightly and Haruichi realizes abruptly that his hands have stopped moving. Muttering an apology and ducking his head as his cheeks burn, he berates himself to concentrate on the task at hand. He swallows the plea for Ryousuke to take a break from practice as he makes a final rub on the purplish-red blotch and reaches for the roll of bandage.

"You do remember what I told you about following me," Ryousuke says as Haruichi starts to wrap the bandage around his ankle.

Haruichi nods.

"You aren’t little anymore."

I know. Haruichi doesn’t say anything else as he secures the cloth and shuts the kit, swallowing hard, fingers tightening around its handle. When he was still small, Ryousuke never said anything - not much - about him always following him; there were even times he’d backtrack to check on him when he realized that he was missing. Haruichi wasn’t an idiot, nor was he dense; the scratches and wounds Ryousuke bore when he got home after Haruichi went home crying was definitely not caused by clumsiness - for one, his brother is one of the most graceful person he had ever known.

Something curls and settles queasily in his gut. He looks up slowly to see Ryousuke staring at him, and realizes with embarrassment - while his heart squeezes - that the elder Kominato has been doing that for a while now.

He takes in a deep breath and pushes the kit aside. Pushing himself up from the ground, he stands before Ryousuke, hands bunching and releasing the material of his pants as he slowly musters up courage.

Ryousuke’s lips seem to curl a little more; taunting, as if waiting for him to make his move. Haruichi presses his lips to a firm line. 

Then he reaches around Ryousuke’s head, fingers burying into his silky, pink locks - though damp from sweat, Haruichi finds that he doesn’t care. Ryousuke doesn’t move away though Haruichi can feel his muscles lock tightly in place at his display, nor does he reciprocate the action. Instead he merely comments, “I’m sweaty.”

"I don’t care," Haruichi replies, still pressing Ryousuke to his body, heart thumping wildly at the close proximity - his chest is tightening so much he can barely breathe. There’re times when he wonders what exactly he feels for his brother - it’s difficult to comprehend: this nervousness, this need for him to acknowledge him, not only as his brother, as a player, but something more.

He feels the small shudder of Ryousuke’s shoulders as he lets out a small chuckle. Tension seeps out from the elder Kominato and Haruichi smiles as he relaxes, leaning against his body.

Ryousuke sounds almost affectionate as he murmurs, “As stubborn as ever.”

A/N: Lack of Kominatocest, I swear. They are too cute together. I couldn't help it. The feels attacked me at the wee hours of the morning.

Where it all began... RyouHaru

I started writing Ryouharu Daiya no Ace fics in 2018. Something about the impact of the fics I'd read in the preceding year meant that RH was the second fic I wrote. I've written a few RH over the years, and some are pretty awkward, but these ones are my favorites:

Back in Your Life Again

When Haruichi follows him to Seidou, Ryousuke is faced with a boy who has developed feelings for him - someone stubborn, driven by his desires, inconsistent... not the sweet little brother that he used to be.

His Brother's Legs

Ryousuke had always loved his brother's legs, but when Haruichi lay on his floor in those tiny, tiny shorts... he didn't feel brotherly at all.

Haruichi's Dreams

Ryousuke likes to spend time with his sleeping brother. On one occasion, when he visits Haruichi, things take a very different turn. (omegaverse)
