took dewey out again tonight for more socialization — some soft boofs were had but by the end of the ~30 minutes he was quietly watching instead (:

he of course did suuuuuper well with everyone who asked to meet him! young kids, parents, some all at the same time. not fazed even a little (and someone even guessed that his name is deputy dewey because of scream — finally!!!!!!)

we worked on “focus” and “off”/“leave it” while there too. a good evening

#text #it’s always been more important to me that dewey like PEOPLE and be safe around PEOPLE of all else #i can manage guarding food around other dogs.#i can (obviously) train him to tolerate being near strange dogs (as long as he isn’t having outbursts!)#but my hope for him first and foremost was that he would love and trust people — and he does 💛#idc if he ever gets excited to play with other dogs. my other 3 dont #ryker lovessssss to be out and about but is aloof with other dogs. idc!#as long as my dogs trust me to keep them safe and thus ignore strange dogs. we gucci #(heck. i don’t even trust strange dogs ahdjjsjcjd)#egan being attacked by one as a young dog is what triggered his reactivity
