Aight, some of ya’ll gotta chill.

Some of ya’ll REALLY gotta chill when it comes to that Weiss and Jaune scene. Weiss being attracted to maturity ain’t a new thing but ya’ll are blowin that up a bit too much. Small comedic moment, Jaune is happy to see his friends. The girl thought he was handsome don’t mean She’s gonna fuck him right then and there or in the future.

Let the White Knight shippers have their fun and stop bashing the White Rose guys. Hell, even YANG thought he was handsome you people gotta chill the hell out.

And to all those Whiterose / WhiteKnight shippers out there being idiotic and toxic—-chill. It was a joke, a brief one. She found the guy physically attractive for a moment doesn’t mean it’s endgame and your ship is being sunk. Hell WhiteRose aint even endgame rn either despite there being way more evidence for the latter.

Speaking of that for those of you ‘jumping ship’ because of that little moment—-you’re ridiculous and stupid and you were never a true WhiteRose shipper. If THAT is enough to make you jump from the ship you never truly shipped them in the first place.

Try and enjoy the ride, go to fanfic and fanart or look back on earlier seasons for your fuel. It aint going anywhere enjoy the comedic moment with Weiss and what she found physically attractive for a moment and move on.

She’s attracted to maturity and loyalty. That fact applies to Pyhhra, Yang, Ruby, Ren and a whole buncha other people. In jaunes case the last time she saw him he was still the same age, a dork and she had an impression of him.

Here he is clearly different and she liked that for a moment PHYSICALLY.

Just for ONCE can we not blow something out of proportion when it comes to shipping in this FNDM? Please?

Is that too much to ask?

One of the things I like about RWBY V9 and Ruby's arc in it is that she's not framed as naive. I don't see it as much anymore, but I used to see a lot of theories that Ruby would breakdown because she's too naive. That she needed a 'wake-up' call to see the world as it 'really is' (read awful) which I always thought was a misreading of her character.

Instead of being uniquely naive in a terrible world, Ruby is struggling with the same problem that multiple other characters have struggled with. It was Ironwood's downfall, the reason Ozpin lost hope, and Jaune's main struggle. The desire to be The Hero. The need to help people, to never fail, to always have the answer, to be a beacon of hope. And it's crushing (or has crushed) all these characters.

It's really telling that Jaune literally became a fairy tale hero this volume and it wasn't good.

I looked forward to Ruby realizing that she can make mistakes and that's ok. That being Ruby Rose is enough.

RWBY update

Well I’ve finished V9 of RWBY so now I can join everyone else in waiting a year (or whatever) for new episodes. 😭 I’m just so impressed with the show. The quality of the writing is so good and the way it tackles really serious themes like loss and failure while also having lots of action and humour is just so impressive.  It has episodes that made me think “Wow I wish I could write something this good.” Blake and Yang’s scene in V9 ep 6 is one of the best-written love confessions I’ve seen in years.  It’s the sort of show that just makes me wish there were more like it. I’m absolutely going to be rewatching this series. I can’t believe I was missing out on something so good for so long.

Ruby Sees Crescent Rose and Almost Has A Panic Attack

The fact that Crescent Rose the thing that has been ‘her baby’ since day ONE of this series is something that triggers her is amazing to me. You’d think it’d give her comfort but no, it represents the past, the past her. The very same past version of herself that’s put her down and it also represents her struggles.

Crescent Rose represents Ruby Rose the Huntress…but what has she achieved?

What use is Crescent Rose to her if whether she has it or not she’s inferior to her mother?

What good is the weapon of Ruby Rose the Huntress when she feels like her title should be Ruby Rose ‘The Failure’.

Lets Talk About: The RWBY Yang/Blake Bumblebee Kiss

Okay. Okay so hear me out right quick and try not to send me any death threats in my ask box.

Let me start off by saying that the entire scene was fucking great. I loved the concept, I loved the animation and I loved the kiss itself. The facial animations were on point and the way they got to each other by just laying it all out there to make a bridge to one another was amazing.

I loved the concept of the scene….however, I also feel like it was out of place.

My own feelings on Bumblebee have gotten complicated over the years. I like the ship yes but when it comes to canon I’ve just kind of gotten meh about it. Like I said in my last post I’m happy people are happy because it’s been a long time coming but it’s BECAUSE it’s been a long time coming that I don’t have as much excitement as I should have.

They’ve been baiting the hell out of us for a long time and dragging their feet to the point that the entire FNDM came together at one to curse out CRWBY for how they were handling the ship. Hell, a few of my friends told me one of their biggest reasons for hating the whole Yang, Blake and Robyn scene in Volume 7 was because it felt like Yang was going along with what Blake wanted because she loved her instead of using her common sense.

However, NONE of those reasons are why I feel like the kiss didn’t work for me/ should have gone in another scene or episode.

I say that because while, once again, I’m glad we got the kiss my attention is focused way more on what was happening with Jaune, Ruby and Weiss.

The entire Crossroads section they had had me sitting up with rapt attention in my bed. Not a moment there lost me because we were discovering things b=about Jaunes time in the Everafter and just as importantly getting more insight to Weiss and Ruby’s mental state.

We got a little of Weiss true feelings on how she’s processing things in the last episode with her saying that she’s “Tired of leaving things in ashes” because that’s exactly what they did to Atlas.

What they did to her HOME.

And in the end they still failed their real goal with Penny dead and Salem having two relics at her side. Another interesting point was the reflection we got from Ruby with it reflecting Summer Rose instead showing off how bad she’s started comparing herself to her ‘Hero Huntress’ of a mother.

Then we go into Jaunes time here, alone and stranded and waiting for his friends to arrive as the years pass by and instead he finds Alix. We saw his panic at the story changing at how Alix betrayed him and how he assumes he sacrificed her brother to the tree something the Cat seems to agree with because HE got tricked.

The cat himself leaving the group and the utter pain on Jaunes face is something I wished we focused more on instead of the kiss.

This whole episode should have been about that I feel because even after their out Ruby almost has the worst panic attack of the volume at seeing her weapon and BMBLB is in the background as it should be because I’m focused on her.

I’m not saying the kiss was bad or that I wished it never happened, I’m just saying that it should have been the focus of the next episode or another one entirely when we focus on just those two instead.

Look i love that they FINALLY fucking did it especially after teasing/baiting us for fucking ever and i’ll fully explain my feelings in my next post when I fully talk about it but—-i dunno.

I thought i’d feel more excited instead of…off. There was nothing wrong with the scene in fact the idea in how they confessed was great but the placement felt—wrong.

Like i said I’ll explain more in my next Let’s Talk post but i felt i should leave this tidbit here in case I don’t get around to posting it today.

Alrmtbrlfltrb What!?!?!

No—no that is NOT how Ironwood felt at all Yang what in the HELL are you talking about that is the literal opposite of how he felt.

Even at the end he was focused on saving HIS people. All of Atlas, sure his plan was never going to work in the long run and he was making some HEAVY short term decisions but that never changed his goal.

I’m all for trying to look on the brightside but Weiss and Ruby have a point here. Especially Weiss cause…you know, it was her bloody home too!?
