Y’know I’d thought I heard all the disgusting bullshit names aimed at Blake, but now after clicking a particular vid I’ve got another to add to the list. Some dumbass calling her “Yang’s chew toy”, like wtaf? And this moron actually proceeds to think he has any ground to comment about Yang daring to move in-between Blake and Ruby. How awful that is and launching into how if anyone does that their scum of the earth. And trying to sell the idea of himself being pro-BB till that made him hate it (cause yeah, I believe that like a believe I can hurl a truck into the atmosphere). And ofc the comments (which thankfully there’s only 2 of) have some of the dumbest shitlords saying how BB ruined Yang and/or that they hate Yang now. Once again all Yang did was move in-between Blake and Ruby; and likely for BOTH of their sakes; these dumbasses acting like she raised a fist against her.

That’s even diving into the attacks on Blake cause how dare she cower or show any uncomfortability at having someone raising their voice and being confrontational. “Wasn’t she part of a radical group? Blake has degraded so much”; or she’s hearing this from someone she’s close to and wouldn’t have expected to hear it from. Or that she’s y’know AN ABUSE SURVIVOR whose mind reacted to something in that gave off vibes. inb4 anyone misconstrues this, it’s NOT saying Ruby was being abusive or like Adam (there’s a whole ass list against that bullshit). It IS saying that like nostalgic things that trigger responses based on happy imprints in the brain, there’s things that do the same for trauma. Ruby is valid in having her reaction to the pressures put on her, so is Blake for having her reaction towards stressful situations that hit certain veins psychologically. Then again these types of morons would fail to grasp that as they have been doing for years now.

Then again the whole thing is just that an act, cause the reality is that it’s just them using it as a front to mask their homophobia and issue with BB. Fuck that bullshit, Yang was fine in her reaction and fuck any-damn-body trying to vilify her. As an older sibling myself, I’ll easily say that if my bro started going after my partner that I’d tell him to back the fuck off and move between them.

Just to be clear cause I saw that Phoenix/Night also put up a vid today about Ruby’s breakdown and whatnot; he isn’t the one this post is about.

Rant and spoilers for 9x07 below the cut:

Y’know it’s truly pathetic to see a shitbag like Moist Critical (I’m intentionally spelling it different) bitching about RWBY, fully stating and showing he has no clue about what’s going in the show yet rolling his eyes about events going on as not making sense. Like yeah, dumbass you haven’t watched show to know what’s going on; ofc it’s not going to make sense.

Also undoubtedly jackass needs some glasses considering he tries to compare RWBY’s animation which is top-tier to fucking Ex-Arm. Oh but ofc not when Monty was alive, then it was fine because Monty. Legitimately despise these up-their-own-asses pricks.

So glad I don’t follow or even heavily know anything about the piece of shit and what I do know furthers it. Like how he’s into people slapping the shit out of each other as some kind of sport; or having numerous guns on hand. Oh and his big pull to peek back into RWBY is the “homophobic Ruby memes”, like that’s not a good reason to get pulled towards something. Once again people in the know-nothing camp should learn to keep their obnoxious mouths shut.

Spoilers below the cut (9x07):

As usual with RWBY I love it’s subversion of tropes. Namely in this case:

- the trope: MC being boosted moved ahead and placed as leader of her team that normally is seen as a reward, what should be the case cause “MC”, and ‘how good of Oz”.

vs.

- the reality: putting a massive burden on the at the time fifteen-year-old Ruby and how badly it’s fucked her up inside.

- the trope: heroic character saves a village and protects the residents of the village cause that’s the heroic thing

vs.

-the reality: character keeping a village of people wanting to move on from doing so in order to try to make up for an action he did before and has guilt over as well as viewing “moving on” as an end/bad thing. Essentially holding the village as pseudo prisoners. (Just to be clear, this isn’t bashing Jaune as he’s mentally unwell and honestly probably has the same “heroic ideas” in his head as we would).

The latter of those really hitting on a subject that in recent years, even I’ve shifted on and even wobbled back and forth on. Namely the idea of a sickly person that chooses to live their life on their own accord to the end when having a terminal illness or even chooses to have “one last great day” before ending it vs. those that push on and do whatever to stay in this life. I’ve always been and admittedly still am more leaned towards “fight, clench, dig, etc to stay in this world as long as you can.”; but I’ve shifted to accepting others not having the same and understanding why they’d choose opposite. It’s a really complicated territory and having relatives that are or have dealt with cancer relatable.

RWBY spoilers below the cut (also a minor bit of rant):

Okay, no shade at anyone; but whether the BB kiss happens in 9x06 or 9x07 or further I’m fine with it and it’ll be perfectly fine in terms of build up. I don’t take issue with wanting more, but the idea that there isn’t already enough is a “wtf are we watching the same show?”. Like the build has steadily been raising up just in v9.

Also unless one is expecting a full-on Jaune flashback (which is unlikely to be a thing), there’s plenty of time to have what’s going on with him + Ruby’s ongoing trauma conga-line + BB having a kiss and emotional moment. Especially after their high as a kite trip that had them refocusing themselves.

Once again no issue with those that think it’ll happen later or want more build to make it that much better; only those that are acting like there’s not enough build already in place.

welp someone put up a vid of the Puerto Rico RWBY panel, so I know what I’ll be watching for the next 50+ mins xD

2mins in and Barb did the joke about Blake and Yang being “just friends” in a mocking tone (cause fk the ignorants and homophobes, my words not hers) xD Also Arryn once again not being able to sit in her chair cause “bisexual” xD

Slowburn, figuring themselves out cause they’re teenagers, including who and what they like etc; y’know the exact things BB’ers have been saying about BB for years cause we knew.

Going to paraphrase the next bit cause really don’t want to transcribe the whole thing but:

“I know there’s a lot of people upset about Bla/cksun, but I feel like what happened is just what happens with teenagers...“ “...I feel Sun definitely really liked Blake, but I think Blake was going through such a thing at the time. Because of seeing her parents again and being so anxious and upset and disappointed in herself. So she wasn’t exactly focused on “love somebody” instead “let me love myself”, -Arryn about that side of things.

- Granted this is the VA speaking not the writers, but I do love that both Barb and Arryn lowkey gave a little ground for Yang following hetero norms, when looking at the boys but really focusing on Blake in the lead-up to their first talk.

- Lindsay when asked about songs in regards to the show going into “Mad World” cause of 9x08. They have to be having so much fun cause they’ve been wanting breakdown-Ruby for years.

- Lindsay mentioning it’s only to get better (in regards to rewarding to them seeing Ruby’s journey)

- Barb mentioning about the next two episodes being her “best episodes of all time” and that if you’ve been enjoying v9 then “just wait” excitedly; so adding to that hype train xD

- I think Arryn was essentially saying she enjoyed getting to basically get to play a longing Blake xD

- When asked what they’d each do if they had control over 1 episode and could whatever they want with it:

     -ofc Kara is going with Weiss and Jaune together forever (she’s never giving up on White Knight) xD

     - Barb wants either a beach episode or a Yang working out scene to show her muscles (not said but her body language gives that impression xD)

     - Arryn wants that ^ but Blake in a corner watching thinking/saying “this is good” xD Also joking about filming it with a “this is for later” xD

     - Lindsay would do a party arc cause of how depressing v9 has gotten xD

- Kara struggles with Schnee-snow-shoe-shipping xD

- Barb mentioning voicing Jensen and spitting cause of the voice including “it was a very wet session” and Arryn did a “that’s what she said” joke xD

- Arryn ofc continuing with the RWBY x Fortnite

- Fav OP’s: Kara & Arryn = v1 (cause it’s the start and has a nostalgia to it);  Barb = v9; Lindsay v9 (and pointing out how it harkens back to the v2 OP “there’s a point where it bends, there’s a point where it breaks”)

- Lindsay getting all deserved praise for their work in 9x07 and 9x08; while Lindsay gave deserved praise to Miles.

- Brought up when responding to a question about the food fight in v2: Kara has now eaten swordfish; Barb can’t get over that Yang fisted 2 turkeys. And Barb ends up loading up food fight to see what food Blake used during it xD

-Confirmed that the scene Barb didn’t think she did “right” was indeed the BB scene.
