Truth be told, they weren't expecting this to be quite so... frustrating.

They had begun mentally preparing themselves for it - the devotion they had to foster in exchange for a second chance at life, all in the name of the deity behind the very prophecy that had left them as the last lamb alive - since they'd found their first follower, but no amount of words from Rutau or their god would've made their mission easier.

While adding so many to the cult's following within the first week was good for productivity, most of said new followers often approached The Lamb with complaints or requests of their own.

Some were genuinely helpful, and they brushed their exhaustion aside to thank them for their suggestion...

Others were disrespectful and demanding, asking for things they didn't need or obviously couldn't have yet - was it truly so bad to sleep in a bedroll rather than a tent? - and The Lamb found themselves going on crusades more often than not.

It was after one of these crusades fueled by frustration that they all but barged back into the clearing, allowing their axe to transform back into the Red Crown as they stopped to both catch their breath and regain their composure.

The scowl on their face deepened as they watched their flock react, hoping that it would discourage those who'd take the opportunity to badger them once again.

Inhaling sharply, The Lamb pushed an impassive look onto their face and strode purposefully into their temple, relieved when no one dared follow.

...Except for one, who knocked timidly on the door.

"Begone." they called, "We must prepare for today's rituals. If you value your life, you will interrupt us no longer."

It was admittedly a little much, but they did not want to reduce their flock's numbers over a bout of uncontrollable anger. Not to mention that it worked well, hooved footsteps retreating hurridly, leaving them in blessed silence.

As tempting as it was, it would do no good for them to simply murder those who got on their nerves.

No, no. The Lamb had much bigger plans for them.

so ive been reading DitSoH for like, the third time? and i wondered if you had anything in mind for what ucevi did on balmorra besides the canon SW missions, if any? like did she meet lt. rutau, go through the arms factory missions, meet cessik, etc? i ask just bc ucevi has such interesting reactions to things and… balmorra is certainly interesting.

Oh, thank you! And oh my! That's a huge compliment that you've reread it three times! You've definitely made my morning.

I started writing Dance almost 5 years ago and I never wrote down which planetary missions she did specifically. The non-class missions were mostly divided between Ucevi and Zas, with a few things done by the other two classes who haven't appeared in Dance yet.

Ucevi mostly got the ones that called for straightforward assaults: destroying assembly lines and R&D in the droid factory, destroying gun emplacements, the assault on the Arms Factory for Lachris. So yes, she met Lt. Rutau and made sure he got back to help. She's a loyalist with a military/strategic mindset and she doesn't (yet) question the Empire as a whole on Balmorra. Something is a military target or it isn't, and the resistance is a military force. She disapproves of terror tactics in general or targeting civilians or slaughtering non-resisting prisoners, but she's pretty ruthless about military targets (i.e. General Organa's command post on Alderaan.) While she was already attracting favorable attention from the Imperial military, though, they would have assumed she'd be more likely to destroy data than recover it (obviously incorrect, but how would they know?) They turned to the most powerful other Sith on planet at the time, Zastelar.

For the most part, the investigative missions (where stealth was an advantage) were done by Zastelar. Zas met Cessik, for instance. She investigated the cave with the Force sensitives. She also volunteered for "Toxic Bombs," because she has some resistance to the toxic waste. And she and others were sent on diversionary missions to lure out resistance forces and create weaknesses in their defenses just before the assault on the Arms Factory; that's a normal military strategy, even if it wasn't explicit in game. And the Resistance weren't really a disciplined force so it would probably work on them.

Some of them make sense for others to have done, especially the ones that occurred after the Arms Factory, like "The Republic's Last Gasp". I think my BH would have been given that mission. They also got a lot of the colicoid missions at Bugtown, which makes sense because we know that their targets on Balmorra ar actually responsible for the colicoids' increased aggression if I recall correctly. And the agent got most of the routine intelligence recovery missions like "Crash Course" and "Missing Agent".

Hopefully that answered your question! Did you have any others in mind specifically, besides Rutau and Cessik?

26. Who is/are your favorite non-companion NPC(s)?Hmmmmmmm this one is hard, man!!!! I LOVE Cole Cantarus. He’s a real bro. I also love Darth Vowrawn because he’s just so sassy. And, surprise, I love Lieutenant Rutau? Who is one of the Imp NPCs on Balmorra. He’s the leader of the platoon that got demolished in the Okara factory. Don’t ask me why I love him but boy do I.

I’ve generally just said “painkillers” or something when it comes up. Iirc Lt. “please take a nap” Rutau mentions he’s on ALL the painkillers when you talk to him at the Okara droid factory, so there’s that, at least.

Elara mentions giving wounded NPCs medicine of some kind to ease their pain a couple of times if you have her out. I just leave it at "painkillers"

I just use myocaine, it's mentioned in passing in OT era comics and I'm just WHATEVER IT'S MINE NOW
