Six Sentence Sunday - Russell Shaw x Cassie Dewell - 6/9/24

A/N: This is the one shot I currently have in the works for these two (When the Past Comes Knocking). A little longer than six sentences. All unbeta'd.

She finished the message to Jenny, confirming she’d meet her for drinks later at The Boot Heel, and pushed her phone into her jeans pocket, frowning when she didn’t get a reply from the older woman. “Denise?”

Still no reply. 

She immediately rounded the corner and found Denise standing there, staring towards the door, mouth hanging open in disbelief. “Hey, you okay?”

Cassie turned to see what she was looking at when her eyes landed on a man who had just walked in. There stood Beau’s twin. Granted his hair was a bit longer, his beard a little fuller than Beau’s though still managed, his sunglasses sat on top of his head, he was dressed differently (Beau’s jeans fit him perfectly while this cut was different), and the look in his green eyes was not one of recognition. Not until they landed on Cassie that is.

“Beau?” She let out in a quiet gasp of surprise. Why hadn’t her friend told her he was coming? And why was he dressed like this? What was with the new look? Had something happened?

Beau’s brows furrowed in confusion. “Who?” The accent she’d been endeared to was all but absent.
