Annual Writing Self Evaluation

Thank you for the tag @louandhazaf!!! I’m honestly clutching my chest that you tagged me, so thank you xxx especially since i love this little self eval that i think @juliusschmidt came up with all those years ago and we just keep perpetuating it haha

this... is going to get long, though. since it asks me to list my works published this year and that is 24. so. here goes.

2. Work you are most proud of (and why):

every time i think about this question i’ve got a different answer, to be honest. i do think my I Go Down Blazing, Feeling Like I'm Going Crazy series is probably what i’m most proud of, though. as soon as i knew @runaway-train-works was going to be hosting the heartbreak weather fic fest, i knew i wanted to write dear patience, but as the idea grew and grew and more ideas solidified and i realized what the story was turning into, i realized it was so much more than i originally thought and i needed a second song to help me fully get a solid grasp on it. in the end, it was a hard duo of fics to write, mainly because i honestly don’t know much of anything about golf, i was still trying to create fully the way soulmates worked in the world, and there’s just not all that much about rory online to find, so i was winging it haha but i’m so incredibly happy with the world i made and the fics i wrote, even if i don’t know that they’ll ever get to like 200 hits or whatever hahaha i love them.

3. Work you are least proud of (and why):

uhhhhh you know looking at this list of fics i have, i’m actually proud of every single one for some reason and i don’t know if there’s any of them that i’d even label as “least proud”.

4. A favorite excerpt of your writing:

i hate this question and forget that it is on this list every year lollll let me see if i can find something i really like. okay i found one, it’s from my long grouis haha and i’m apologizing now for it being so long. you can skip ahead to the next question if you like, but i’m just incredibly proud of the banter and the way i wrote this section, PLUS those damn joggers actually happened because he posted a photo of himself wearing them in the shops on instagram and that inspired this entire thing so. enjoy. (i’ve italicized it and indented it to hopefully make it easier to skip it’s so long i’m so sorry)

“It’s safe for you to come back in here,” Louis called out as he closed his computer.

“Thank goodness, I was getting so exhausted of hiding in your bedroom and snooping through all your shit,” Greg said as he walked out wearing a sheet mask and a pair of grey joggers that did nothing to hide what he was packing.

Louis smirked and wanted to say something, but Greg kept going.

“Did you know you have like five different deodorants in there?”

Louis threw his arm on the back of his couch and nodded.

“Why?” Greg asked, throwing himself down onto the couch and placing his stupidly long legs on top of Louis’. “Who legitimately needs five different deodorants? Do they have different uses or something? Some were even women’s deodorants, so I wasn’t sure if they were your sisters’ or what. Oh, and I helped myself to one of your fancy toners. It had rosewater in it or something.”

“Well, for the deodorants I just like trying different scents and I switch them up based on my mood. And actually, the one I use most often is a women’s deodorant. It works great. Plus I smell fresh and clean like baby powder all day.” Louis shrugged. “And that wasn’t my toner. Dunno who left it. Just showed up one day and no one says it’s theirs, so I kept it. It’s quite nice, isn’t it? Lotts said it’s supposed to help even out the PH balance of my skin or some shit, but I’ll be fucked if I know what that actually means.”

��Oh, that does sound fancy,” Greg agreed, checking the time on his phone. “I’ve got five more minutes on this mask, don’t let me forget. Don’t want to leave it on so long it burns my skin off or summat.”

“Sure,” Louis said, laughing. “So are you actually wearing anything under these or are you just that excited to see me?”

“Eh?” Greg asked before looking down at his crotch. Of course, now he was sitting down it didn’t show anything. “What are you on about?”

“Stand back up and look in a mirror, mate,” Louis said, laughing. “You’re dick was trying to tell me hello a minute ago.”

“I didn’t tell it to do that,” Greg muttered as he shifted so he could stand back up again. He walked into Louis’ bedroom, and Louis could hear when he’d seen himself. “Oh my God, that’s obscene! Does it always look like that when I wear these?”

Louis laughed and walked into his bedroom to see Greg’s eyes wide as he shifted himself around and walked a bit, appalled that no matter what he did, nothing seemed to make it any less there.

“I wouldn’t know, I’ve never seen you in those. You usually nick a pair of mine,” Louis reminded him. “Do you wear them without pants often?”

“I never wear pants with these,” Greg said, rubbing his forehead. “Fuck, I’ve likely given that nan that lives below me too many looks at my cock without even realising it. They’re my softest, most favorite pair of joggers! I wear them to the shops when I’m too knackered to get fully dressed!”

As Greg continued to narrate the various escapades he’d had over the years in the joggers without even realising what he’d been doing, Louis settled onto his bed, propping himself up on his elbow so he could still watch Greg as he motioned about in distress.

When it was clear Greg wouldn’t be stopping anytime soon, Louis pulled out his phone and started filming. There was no one he could share this with, but it would be good for a laugh later on.

“Fuck, and you didn’t remind me to take off my mask!” Greg cried, rushing back into the bathroom to remove the sheet mask and do whatever else he had to do when he used them.

Greg was proper obsessed with them, said they were relaxing and kept his skin soft. Louis just liked knowing they were one of Greg’s things, like taking regular baths with a bottle of wine and perusing various adoption websites for dogs he could possibly give a good home to.

“Sorry, love,” Louis said, as Greg walked back out of the bathroom. He really was sorry, but he also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to keep taking the piss. Greg was too much fun to rile up. “Was distracted by your big dick flopping about whilst you remembered all the good times you’d had in the joggers.”

5. Share or describe a favorite review you received:

i’ve had a few this year that told me they don’t usually read that pairing or they don’t usually comment on fics, but for various reasons they gave the pairing a try or wanted to comment because of something specific and those were particularly lovely. that said, every comment is so so great, they really do boost me up to see them and i need to do better with getting my anxiety in hand and responding to them regularly.

6. A time when writing was really, really hard:

this entire damn year, man. all of the time i’d carefully carved out for myself over the past few years to write was basically blown to shit with the pandemic, which also was so exhausting it didn’t leave me with much energy to write. but i still somehow posted 24 fics?? i dunno, dude. i think writing saved me and gave me something to look forward to, tbh.

7. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:

most of my advent fic, tbh lollll a lot that was in there wasn’t really brainstormed ahead of time, it just happened, and i forgot some of the details even because i just flat out didn’t remember what i’d put in there, so i’m STILL surprised haha i love when fics happen like that

8. How did you grow as a writer this year:

i always think of challenges as fun and then i look back and wonder if i was insane because i thought it would be fun to try something new but it was mostly really fucking hard haha i wrote a lot of pairings and combinations of tropes this year that i never have before as well as stretching myself with writing emotions and situations i never have before, so i’m quite proud of myself for continuing to push the envelope and try new things like that.

9. How do you hope to grow next year:

i mostly hope that i’ll be able to carve more time out for myself as things HOPEFULLY settle down a bit more. i might not be as impulsive when it comes to choosing things to write at that point, but we’ll see. lol

10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

i... hmm. there’s a lot of people i’m thinking of right now, but it’s hard to choose just one. i think actually there were two and they were @louandhazaf and @disgruntledkittenface. i very much admire both of them for their own writing and works, but i am particularly inspired by how many pairings they write and the variety of fics they have posted. it’s definitely because of them that i’ve tried writing a lot of the pairings that i have, and that’s before you even start to look at the help they’ve given me with betaing certain fics (usually rare pairs lollll). they’re just both so supportive and open to so many things, and i am so much more open to all sorts of things because of them. i CANNOT answer this without mentioning the Write Your Way Out GC either, though. Y’all are my crew in SO many ways and you let me rely on you in every way through this past year. it really does take a village, doesn’t it?

11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:

lmao i’m sure. but all i’m thinking of at the moment are the tumblr posts and canon compliant shit i based the fics on, so nothing off the top of my head apparently haha

12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:

hell if i know. maybe just... write for yourself. i think that’s why i’m so proud of every fic i wrote this year. i really was writing for me and if others like it too? bonus.

13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:

my big bang!!! that’s the big one. i’m so excited for it. i have a whole list of other fics, too, though. hahaha i’m also super SUPER excited for both of my omega harry fics to post hehe

Series Summary:

Jamie Luna is an American in London. She’s managed to get herself stuck within Mycroft’s web and is sent to watch Sherlock’s every move. What She’s not prepared for is the love and friendships of a life time.

Chapter Summary:

Jamie Luna has just had to most romantic date that even had a little sizzle... and now she gets to go to work. Sherlock said to be a 221B asap, he’s on a case and needs someone else’s presence besides John. But how long before Jamie gets to see Greg again? It may be just around the corner...

Couches are not as comfortable as one expects. Well, Sherlock’s couch isn’t anyways. I roll onto my side, watching Sherlock pace back and forth across the flat, talking about his latest case. He seems to be having a mental breakdown.

“He’s not.” John states from his chair as he skims today’s (well, yesterday’s) newspaper. I stare at him, hoping to burn a hole in the side of his head.

“What do you mean he’s not? Of course he is! LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE JOHN!” Sherlock shouts. John glares up at Sherlock and tries so damn hard not to roll his eyes.

“I was talking to Jamie. About you. That you’re not having a mental breakdown. ” John cracks the newspaper and continues reading.

“Why do I need to be here Sherlock? John says you’re fine. I think you’re raving mad because it’s THREE IN THE FUCKING MORNING!” I yell as I throw the blanket over my face.

“You didn’t seem to mind being awake when you floated in here earlier” I poke my head out to see Sherlock cocking his eyebrow at me. I roll my eyes over to John, who has both his brows raised in questioning.

“You came in with your makeup done to perfection, that’s not out of the ordinary but it was a little more heavy than normal. You have on a tight, short leather skirt suggesting you want male attention especially since you thought to forgo any tights. Your red- um no- orange top suggests a somewhat professional gathering, perhaps old colleagues, but the buttons could be undone further if you happened across someone that met your checklist. Your lips are stained dark pink suggesting that you had lipstick on but didn’t bother to reapply or, more likely, someone else removed it for you.” Sherlock spins on his heel to stare down at me on the couch.

“It’s called a lipstain Sherlock, it’s meant to fade over the course of the night.” I drag the blanket back over my head. Sherlock frowns and turns to John who shrugs his shoulders.

“Have you told Mycroft I’m mad?”

“I’ve told him that your brain is reeling on a case, but the only drugs you’ve taken are three nicotine patches.”

“Two” John corrects.

“Three. He put one on his other arm when you were making tea.” I mumble through the blanket.

“Well, be thankful he hasn’t gotten a hold of any weapons yet.”

I poke my head out and open my mouth to respond but I would rather not press for details, my job was to report on Sherlock’s current well being, not to unravel his past. Sherlock continues his pacing and problem solving and I must have nodded off at some point because John is gently shaking my shoulder.

“Jamie, Sherlock is out for a walk. Said he’d be back later.” John whispers. I crack my eyes open, glaring at John for not waking me when Sherlock left.

“Here’s a strong tea, extra sugar; now hurry home and do what you need to do before he calls. Don’t you grumble at me missy! Off you go, hurry before he has a break though in this case.” John peels me off the couch and practically pushes me out onto the landing.

I steadily make my way back to my own flat, walking instead of taking a cab. It’s about midday, the sun is out but it brings no warmth. I quickly undress as I walk into the flat and jump right into the shower. I try to recall the details of the current case as I scrub my body clean but I can’t remember anything after the exhaustion set in last night. Before that… I can still feel his hands on my body. The way his mouth moved against mine, how he smelled musky but not too strong, how I wanted him to explore every bit of my body... OH MY GOD! Did he call? I didn’t even check my phone when I left baker street! I rush out of the shower quickly throwing my hair in a towel and running to my phone. Of course it’s fucking dead! I jam the charger in and finish drying my body as I mentally beg my phone to resurrect faster. The logo flashes on the screen and then my phone buzzes three times.

Messages from last night:

Mycroft: Good. Make sure he stays that way. Don’t let him out of your sight.

Sherlock: Went out. - SH

Messages from this morning:

John: Sherlock’s back. Laying on the couch, hasn’t said anything in 20 minutes. Be ready to meet us somewhere soon :)

I sigh as I crash onto my bed. Nothing from Greg! I guess he does work for Scotland Yard so I can cut him a little slack. Maybe he wasn’t interested. I push the thought out of my head and get ready. The cute little coat I wore out last night was not cutting it earlier; so I grabbed my oversize tartan wool coat out of the closet. I think I’ll take my time doing my makeup today, never know who you’ll bump into when you’re running after Sherlock; or working for Mycroft for that matter. I just finish filling in my eyebrows when my phone lets out a few dings.

SH: This address. Hurry - SH

JW: This address. See you there!

(?): Hi Jamie, had an amazing time last night. Maybe we could do dinner tonight? - Greg

HA! He texted! I happy dance and nearly trip over my two feet when another ding sounds.

Greg: New case just came up. Rain check for breakfast tomorrow?

Awww man. I have to wait until tomorrow??? That’s just not fair! I reply as I make my way out the door:

To Greg: I had an amazing time too <3 Sounds perfect! Let me know where :D

To John: See you there! Maybe I’ll get to cross the tape this time!

To Sherlock: Hurrying!

I quickly shoot Mycroft a message with the address of the crime scene and reread Greg’s message so I can over analyze it (as one does). I look at mine again as well. Oh… no… I put a heart?? Will he think that’s weird? We kinda went on one date… and I’m sending hearts. I gotta remember hearts, the cry laugh emoji and the phrase “lol” do not need to be in every message!

I arrive rather quickly at the crime scene, they’re just now taping off the area, although it is much later in the evening than I expected. I take my post at the edge of the tape near an ambulance that has pulled up. It’s the perfect spot to hear their conversations as well as anything coming through their radios. I give Donovan a little wave, but she purses her lips together and goes back to talking to one of the officers. I make small conversation with some of the medical workers, very friendly people.

After about 20 minutes I can hear Sherlock yelling throughout the apartment building. I blink and see a black blur come flying out the door and into a cab. I walk towards it but it’s already pulling away, leaving me standing in the middle of the road. He left? He left! What the fuck am I supposed to say to-

“Left us here, did he?” John says behind me. I turn to him and shake my head.

“How do we follow him John?

“We don’t for now. He’ll be back at the flat in no time.” John gives my shoulder a squeeze.

“Jamie? Jamie Luna?” Someone behind us shouts. John and I both turn and my jaw hits the pavement. It’s Greg! We meet him at the edge of the tape, he lifts it for John and I to cross under.

“Jamie, Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade. Although I assume you already know that.” John says, the Cheshire grin on his face growing wider by the second. “Greg, Jamie Luna.”

“Yes, we’ve met. Good to see you Detective Inspector.” I can’t help but smile like an idiot. The title suits him, as does the suite...

“We have indeed. Where’s Sherlock gone?” Greg asks, his question directed at John but his eyes never leaving me.

“Off to think we presume.”

“We?” He glances between John and I.

“Remember when I said I was basically a nanny?” Greg’s mouth falls open astonished. “Ya I get to follow Sherlock everyday, text his big brother where he is and get paid loads of money.” I squish my lips together and brace myself, not sure if Greg will think I’m crazy or not.

“Bloody brilliant! Didn’t think anyone could one over Mycroft.” The three of us share a laugh, the silence no longer awkward.

“Well I best be off, have a date in a little bit. Greg, mind walking Jamie home? Her flat isn't too far.” John says, his voice a normal tone but his eyes are full of mischief. I give him a little glare before turning to Greg.

“It’s alright if you can’t, you’re obviously working.” I point my words at John.

“Of course I’ll take you home, just give me a few minutes to wrap up here.” He gives me a lopsided grin. I shake my head in agreement because I do not trust any words that will tumble out of my mouth. He shakes John’s hand goodbye and goes back to talk with Donovan.

“Do you actually have a date this bloody early?” I glare at John.

“I might.” He grins at me, gives a slight bow and catches the next taxi.

I waited around for half an hour; but since Greg let me into the taped off area I decided to poke my nose around. I saw the paramedics take a body out of the building, but it was in a bag so I couldn’t see anything. I got to talking with the CSI photographer and a few other detectives about possible events leading to this accident.

“Ready Ms. Luna?” Greg whispers into my ear as he puts his hand lightly on the small of my back. I nod and quickly tell the people I was talking to goodbye. “I hope you don’t mind if I just drive you?”

“Oh how horrible! You’re going to make me sit for the short car journey instead of making me walk all over London like my boss?” I laugh. He flashes a brilliant smile and I have to remember not to melt into a puddle. We chat about the case, well about Sherlock’s deductions. He may sound raving mad but Greg tells me he’s more brilliant than half of Scotland Yard. He pulls the car up to the curb, both of us sitting in silence for a few moments.

“Would you like to come in for dinner?” I squeak. I glance at him, his mouth is slightly ajar. Moving too fast? Assuming too much… No. He drove me home of his own free will, and he keeps smiling at me like that... it can’t just be in my head right? “There’s a homemade deep dish pizza calling our names...” I sing-song.

“Pizza with a beautiful woman? How could I say no?” He reaches over to push my hair off my shoulders, his thumb light grazing my neck.

“Well, ok then” I breathe out. He gives me a little smile, his thumb moving back and forth along the side of my neck. Wait… he said yes! I jump out of the car and race to my door. I quickly unlock it and begin picking up the clothes I peeled off earlier and throw them into the dryer. I race back to the front door and try to conceal the fact that the tiny sprint I just did has left me short of breath.

“Well this is posh...” Greg mentions as he looks around. I haven’t been living in my flat very long so a lot still needs to be decorated.

“Yes, Mycroft said it would be better if I was in the general vicinity of Sherlock. He also assured me that if I moved to 221B I would most likely never get a good night's sleep.” Greg chuckles at that, I imagine working with Sherlock as much as he does gives the same effect. I quickly heat up the pizza and set the table. Last night I made a mental note on what beer Greg was drinking but the food delivery was set for tomorrow.

“I don’t have any beer, but will wine do?” I shout from the kitchen, trying my hardest to reach the darn wine glasses. I feel his hand rest on my hip, his body lightly pressing against my back.

“Yes love.” He answers right next to my ear as he stretches to grab the two glasses. He sets them on the counter in front of me. His arm snakes around my waist and he nuzzles his nose into my hair.

“Miss me Detective Inspector?” My voice comes out more even than I though possible.

He hums in agreement, brushing my hair off my shoulder and laying a gentle kiss on the base of my neck. I take a deep breath and twirl around so now our noses gently brush each other. He presses his lips gently to mine, my heart threatening to leap out of my chest.

*DING DING DING*

“That would be the pizza” I mumble against his lips, my eyes still closed.

“Guess we will have to finish this later.” he gives me a quick peck and grabs the pizza out of the microwave.

We settle at the table, and raise our glasses.

“To unexpected meetings.” I say, tilting my glass towards Greg.

“And risks taken” he adds as we clink glasses..

I have NO idea what to call this fic :’) it’s multi chapter, but is not reader insert. I’m super sorry, but I just really wanted my character LOL. So here’s part ONE!

1977

Allison Leigh Baker, was a petite young woman with brown shoulder length wavy hair, glass green eyes, and had a love for music. Self taught with piano and singing, she practices daily at the local music shop to get a break from the electric keyboard she had at home. It was nice feeling the real thing under her fingers, the pedals adding emotion. She always played a specific baby grand, beautiful white finish with gold accents. The sound it gave when it was open was angelic, and she loved how loud it was. It was definitely her dream piano, but there was no way she could ever afford it.

She had always been shy, the first few times she went to the store she used the soft pedal to keep the volume down, and always had the back of the piano shut. She hated being a bother, but she eventually accepted that it was a music store, and people come in to practice all the time. A few weeks had gone and she was soon recognized by the owner, happily welcoming her when she walked in. She soon grew out of her shell a little bit, saying hello and engaging in conversation when she wasn’t playing.

She played mostly Queen, with a few Beatles arrangements thrown in, but it was almost always Queen. She didn’t know as much as her friends did, but she did like their music. Being unable to afford her own record player, her friends would make her mixed tapes from the radio so she could listen to them. She fell in love after hearing “Bohemian Rhapsody”, learning it instantly on keyboard. She mostly stuck to the slower songs because they were easier to learn, but she’d throw in some harder ones occasionally.

She arrived at her usual time, just after lunch, giving a smile to the owner as the bell rang with the door opening. “Hi, Greg!” She called, walking to her weekly piano. “Good afternoon, Allie. Playing anything new today?” He asked, tuning an acoustic guitar. Allie sat down at the bench, her bag next to her. “Yeah actually. I’ve been learning Spread Your Wings.”

“Oh, that’s a good one!”

Nothing more was said, and she raised the cover on the keys, looking to the door as the bell chimed. A tall gentleman walked in, giving a polite hello and wave to Greg, heading for the guitar section. Well he’s cute. She watched him for a little bit longer than she should have, her cheeks flushing as she noticed Greg caught her with a smile. She gave a nervous chuckle before shaking her head and beginning to play. Her body swayed lightly, her arms forming goosebumps. This sounds so good. She thought before beginning to sing as quietly as she could to herself.

The man who walked in was John Deacon. He didn’t usually come to this store, but being on this side of town and out of strings, he needed to stop by. He paid no mind to the other people in the store, until he heard a very familiar sound. He carefully took a few steps back to see a young brunette effortlessly gliding through his song. His stomach fluttered as he watched and listened, the owner stepping over to him. “That’s Allie. She’s in here every week playing your band’s stuff. She doesn’t think we can hear her, but her voice—“

“She’s incredible.”

John cut him off, a small smile tugging at his lips. Greg huffed a chuckle.

“She won’t know who you are though, John. She just has mixed tapes, never bought an album because she can’t afford it. Keep that in mind when you talk to her.” He gave a wink and nudge, obviously coaxing him to do just that. John nodded.

He watched her as if he were entranced, not realizing he was stepping toward her as the song was ending. He came back to reality, only steps away. “I like that one. Probably one of my favorites.” He said with a cheeky grin. Allie turned to see who it was, her cheeks flushing when she saw it was the cute guy who walked in earlier. “Thank you!” She gave a smile, turning her body to face him.

Oh wow, she’s really cute.

“39 is probably my favorite, but I haven’t figured that one out yet.” She chuckled nervously, her hand fiddling with the edge of the keys. Of course Brian’s song is her favorite. John thought with a mental eye roll. “I like that one too. Did you know there’s a double bass in it?” He loved that she didn’t know who he was, it was a relief honestly.

“I didn’t! That’s really cool.” Her words were genuine, the cadence sincere. She loved learning new things, especially about the music she listened to. The two of them locked eyes, and for a moment, time stood still. Her cheeks tinted a deeper color before the man introduced himself with an outstretched hand.

“John. Greg told me you’re Allie.” She shook his hand with a smile, then giving Greg a sort of side eye. Not that she was upset, but he knew how shy she was. “Yeah, I’ve been coming here for a few weeks.” She said nervously as she tucked her hair behind her ear after pulling her hand from his. John knew that as well, but definitely didn’t want to make things awkward. “Well you sound amazing, your voice too.” He said with a small tilt of his head. The tint in her cheeks came rushing back as she smiled, her feet now messing with the pedals.

It was just about to get awkward before Allie cleared her throat and stepped more out of her comfort zone, reaching into her bag. “Well if you’d want to listen to me play more,” she began to write out her number, handing it to him. “You can call me and I can meet you here. I don’t have a fancy piano at home.” John took the piece of paper and smiled, slipping it into his back pocket. “I think I will, thank you.”

You couldn’t see it, but Allie was freaking out on the inside. She never did these things, but she really wanted to see him again, so why not?

“So, what instrument do you play? You’re obviously here for something and not just me.”

She laughed, John followed suit.

“I play bass guitar for a band.”

“Oh that’s cool, what’s it called?”

Shit, don’t say Queen. He thought.

“Uh, The Kings.”

Dumbass.

“I’m sorry to say I haven’t heard of them, but I’m sure you sound great.” Allie smiled, her eyes shimmering. There was definitely something about him that made her comfortable.

“We play fairly often, I can bring you to a show sometime.” John regained his confidence, standing up straight and smiling.

“I would love that! I’ve never been to a concert before.” She had no idea.

“Really? Well then I’ll be sure to bring you to a good one.” He winked before checking his watch. “I gotta get going, I just came for extra strings.” He motioned to Greg who already rang him out, not bothering to even charge him. “Gotta get back to the studio and all.” He said, stepping back.

“Oh, okay! I’ll talk to you later then.” Allie gave a smile and a wave, watching John grab his strings and leaving the store. When she could see he was gone, she let out a huge sigh. “Oh my God…” she said quietly.

“He’s a good guy.” Greg quipped with a laugh. “Insanely talented too. I think he’s taken a liking to you.”

“Thank you Greg, I think I’ll handle it from here.” She laughed back at him. She grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder then closing the piano. “I’ll be back tomorrow!” She waved him goodbye, leaving as well.

The Actual Chapter 6 is up of ‘Domestic Bliss Must Suit You’!

I accidentally said yesterday’s 2nd one was chapter 6 when it was chapter 5 lol. This chapter follows Molly and Sherlock’s work life with a bit of hurt/comfort at the end. Reviews are always welcome, I feed off of them lol

*thunk*

Molly and Sherlock had run into each other as they rushed around the flat getting ready. They were both incredibly late leaving for their respective jobs. Sherlock was supposed to have met Lestrade at New Scotland Yard twenty minutes ago and Molly was at least fifteen minutes late. They scrambled around, tugging on clothes, ducking in and out of the bathroom and making a quick coffee. Once situated, Molly started to stroll out the door but turned back and skipped over to Sherlock, giving him a quick kiss.

“I’ll see you this evening,” Molly called out as Sherlock looped his scarf around his neck. He only gave a wink in return before making his way out of the door himself.

“Where the hell have you been?” Lestrade questioned, his feet resting upon his desk.

“Didn’t hear my alarm,” Sherlock waved off carelessly. John rolled his eyes at his best friend as they listened to Lestrade’s case.

“Molly, you’re late,” Mike Stamford pointed out, ever the observant one. “You’re never late.”

“I know, I know, sorry. Stupid faulty alarm; I told him to buy a new one but does he listen? Nope,” Molly ranted on as she straightened her lab coat. “It’s not entirely his fault; I should’ve just used my phone’s alarm.” Mike just shook his head with an amused smirk plastered on his face.

“Interesting,” Sherlock muttered, studying the tear in the deceased woman’s coat.

“It’s just a tear; what makes it so intriguing?” John asked as Greg gave him a shrug of confusion.

“As ever, John, you see but do not observe,” Sherlock pointed out. “The tear here began at the seam and was made to stretch further. This is obviously a woman who takes extra care of her wardrobe and would have had such a tear fixed before wearing it out in the public eye.”

“Made? You mean the tear was placed on purpose? She didn’t just get the tear while on this outing?” John inquired curiously.

“Precisely. The tear began at the seam, so it was obviously done with a seam ripper. There are signs of forced ripping of the fabric as if it were being tugged rather hard. It was made after her murder, but the question now is why?” Sherlock explained, completely in the zone.

Molly made her way to the morgue for an examination. When she began to peel back the sheet, she was nearly startled to death when she saw black curls but breathed a sigh of relief that it wasn’t Sherlock. Though it wasn’t what she had feared, she allowed tears to slip from her brown eyes as she was a bit shaken up. She performed the autopsy quickly and efficiently. Her break had come around and there was no stopping her from crying the waterfall of tears she had held back during the procedure.

Her break was cut short when another body was brought in, a murdered woman named Sharon Bennett. Of course, it was followed by the familiar sound of Sherlock’s footsteps.

“I need to use the lab, is that alright, Molly?” Sherlock asked before noticing her eyes. They were pink and raw, as if she had been crying, he deduced to himself. “Molly,” he spoke in a gentler tone, “are you alright?”

“Yea,” she sniffled, “I'm—I’ll be okay.” Sherlock gave her a look that said we’ll talk later and Molly nodded in agreement.

Sherlock was home before Molly, which didn’t happen often. He had no idea what had upset her so much earlier, but he wanted nothing more than to try to fix it or at least hold her until she felt better. His head turned as she shuffled through the door, looking completely spent. Neither of them said anything as she went into the bedroom. Sherlock followed soon after. Molly had already slipped off her blouse and then tugged the elastic from her hair, allowing it to fall over her right shoulder.

He appeared beside her, softly running his fingers through her silky strands and placing a kiss to her temple. Molly pulled him to her, burying her face in the crook of his neck.

“Molly,” Sherlock spoke softly, “whatever happened today, I’m sorry that it upset you. You don’t have to tell me about it if you don’t want to.”

“It’s n-nothing, really. A bit silly of me, I suppose,” Molly replied, her voice cracking every now and then. “I just had a scare is all. A body came in earlier and when I started to pull the sheet away, it looked like your hair and—.” She trailed off, allowing more tears to fall. “I’m sorry, it’s stupid. It just got me thinking about how it would be if I had lost you and I know I shouldn’t think like that but –” Sherlock pressed his lips against hers, rubbing circles against the bare small of her back to calm her.

“It’s alright, my darling Molly, I’m here,” he assured her, his soft tone soothing her. He sat them down on the bed and lifted her gently into his lap, holding her tight against his chest, rocking her as if trying to lull an infant to sleep. Sherlock continued to place kisses wherever he could. She fell asleep in his comforting arms. “You are my everything,” Sherlock whispered against her hair, knowing she probably couldn’t hear him. What he didn’t see was Molly’s lips quirking into a small smile.

Jonas and Chopra finally, kinda, made their relationship debut on Instagram, with Jonas sharing a video of the actress shimmying towards the camera in the Mumbai monsoon. “Her 😍,” he captioned the video, with a heart-eyes emoji. Only a few days later, Chopra mirrored the post with her own Instagram story of Jonas captioned, “Him 😍”. The post was taken on the other side of the world as the couple hopped on a plane once again, this time from India to Brazil for a concert performance by Jonas. Chopra took the Instagram video from her spot in the audience, capturing the singer in action like a number one fan (or super cute girlfriend?). There’s been no official announcement yet, but after these super sweet matching posts, we think it’s safe to say that something is definitely going on here and whatever it is, we fully support it!

Jonas and Chopra have continued to be attached at the hip.
