WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF PARENTAL NEGLECT AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE
CALYPSO spent the entire summer alone, her home was full of people, her six siblings who bounced between their Upton estate and the several others they took up residency. Her parents were too wrapped up with each other to notice whenever she would enter the room. Not even a loud fake cough or shattering glass would break them from their love-bound spell.
So Calypso had no choice but to occupy herself like she had been doing throughout her adolescence. Books mainly kept her company, well until television flashed before her and she made friends with the people on the screen. Sure she called her friends, who startled her with their active lives. They asked about what she was getting up to, and the answer was always the same, up to no good. It wasn't a lie. She really was, a quick fuck here and a few books there, until the words on the page didn't quench her thirst. After all, she was a university student who needed fun, and so she found it, all over town until pleasure faded and she had no choice but to find long-lasting love between the ancient tales she read.
She wanted love, she craved it.
And when she arrived on campus again she saw it, standing as tall as the clouds, sporting a nice blue jumper, and holding a cigarette. And so she smiled, no, she wore a Disney-like-grin and picked up her step.
"Well if it isn't the spoilt brat?" Farleigh's remark, made everyone follow his amused gaze as they gathered in the courtyard.
"Like you're one to talk Farls," Calypso teased, quickly being met with welcomes and hellos from Oxford's most infamous college.
Her light and lure were effortless and travelled to the small group like a virus. She either received a hug or small talk before her gaze landed on what belonged to Felix Catton; the knight and shining armour of the university. His white cloak and the sword were his cheeky smile and cigarette, the latter he dropped to the ground to pick Calypso up, neglecting to see the envy splattered across some of their faces.
"I've missed you," he mumbled into her neck as she snaked her arms around his, legs wrapping around his waist.
She was lucky she was wearing jeans or her whole world would be on show.
Her heart fluttered as she whispered, "I've missed you too."
"If you're not gonna fuck her, you should put her down Felix," Farleigh called out after taking another drag, nauseated by how they stared into each other's eyes. It was always like that, yet admitting feelings was never on the table, so instead they fucked other people in private and acted like a couple in public. "At least let the girl unpack."
"I could help you," Felix offered, carefully placing her down next to a displeased Annabel.
India stood near Farleigh, forcing herself to pay more attention to the smoke drifting around them than the affectionate scene.
Calypso waved her off, "Already done."
Felix nodded slowly, keeping his eyes solely on her as he shuffled closer.
Alicia questioned, "Did one of your fit brothers help?"
That seemed to uplift some of the girl's moods. The Danforth brothers were royalty around there despite not being alumni. They were notorious for being good-looking and total catches until they got bored and focused on someone else. Players, unlike their parents, but what's wrong with a bit of eye candy?
Felix caught the stiffening of Calypso's shoulders as she answered, "As if they would come here, they're busy and it's too mad for them."
"Not all of them," Farliegh muttered as Jake joined them and said a quick hello to the Danforth girl.
Calypso reassured, ignoring Farleigh's quip, "Besides, it didn't take long."
"Unlike my –" Jake's jest was cut short by their collective groans.
Felix said, "I would've helped you."
Settling down a hand on his arm, Calypso nodded, "I know Lix."
Felix smiled like a madman, unbeknownst that the entire interaction was being observed.
___
Dinner at Oxford was a lively event, well for some at least. Arriving at the intimate venue where the lights were low and the tables were packed amused Calypso dearly. The first years arrived as groups or on their lonesomes. She, of course, knew Felix and Farleigh. Old friends of the family, the Cattons and Danforths went back decades but regardless of their bonds, she quickly made friends with a girl on her course.
Monika Jain, a gorgeous girl with big brown eyes, dark skin and black silky hair. Like Rapunzel if she had a foul mouth and passion for ancient philosophy. She was surprisingly welcomed into their group the second she was introduced, whether it was because of her family paying for her tuition or the fact her father owned establishments in various parts of London.
Calypso chatted away, sitting between Monika and Felix, wearing her glasses since the lighting was grating on her eyes and her contacts were too irritating to put in. She was unaware of how much Felix thought the specs made her look sexy, especially when she read or concentrated on things.
The food was average. Not the best for what they paid for each year but it was edible enough.
Farleigh was on the other side of his cousin as they talked with their other friends, laughing at the gossip they had to spill whilst biting and down on all they could stomach. Well, that was until a harsh yell came from the opposite table.
Everyone collectively stilled only to recognise the voice of Michael Gavey. Or the freaky little git, Monika's voiced after moving in. He studied maths and made sure everyone knew.
"Gavey. The voice of serenity," Monika muttered, sharing a giggle with who sat Alicia opposite her.
Calypso cleared her throat, "As I was saying, if you want to really feel it, you have to do a double not a single."
"Laughing gas is old, playing in the snow is much better," Farliegh piped up.
"You don't play. You explore," Calypso basked in the laughter she received before Felix leaned down after swallowing another bit of food.
"You're gonna tell me what you did this summer. Really, what went on, Cali?" He whispered, glad that everyone returned to their own conversations, even his cousin.
Calypso wanted to tell although, preferring not to talk about her family but his soft tone did wonders for her ears. It was so caring and kind, even when he was throwing a strop.
She gulped, gingerly staring into his eyes, "Not much. Parents were around but not really."
Felix smiled, "You should've come to Saltburn. Dad needed someone to go bird-watching with. Mum was talking about how she missed your presence and the smell of your hair oils. Going on about how they added a tropical vibe to the grounds. And there was Vee, pestering me about when you would come and see her as if you're not my...friend."
"I just might come this year. Friend," she winked, earning a chuckle as he shook his head in disbelief.
Felix hated calling her a friend but there wasn't a word to replace it. Not right now, not when her presence made his head cloudy and confused. Every sound she made drove him up the wall. It was infuriating that he couldn't do more, that they couldn't do more, not when they still had people on their hook, but he would drop his the second she asked.
Calypso's beautiful laugh brought him out of his daze, she of course was amused by the looks she received from India, packed with jealousy as she downed her water.
"I'm guessing you two are done flirting," Monika rolled her eyes at the coy looks they gave each other. "I take that as a no, but I have a story to tell."
Farleigh leaned in, "This oughta be good."
___
The semester went on swimmingly, the Danforth girl spent days focused on readings from her course. Not many people took Ancient Philosophy, claiming they didn't see any future in it, but she was obsessed and the couple dozen students made it better. Discussions in seminars only got heated whenever Monika was involved, yet it was fun and educational.
Calypso never used to like learning or school, since she bounced between houses like an orphan, it was quite sad really. The youngest of seven, six brothers and the only girl. One would think she would have attention and love but her parents didn't give it to any of them, no they gave them money, and threw it at them whenever an issue surfaced. It wasn't done on purpose, they thought that was what parental love was. She was used to having to entertain herself at various boarding schools because she was often alone, and isolated for looking different. Being one of the few black kids at school was hard, and luckily when she met Farleigh she didn't let him go.
As the English temperature plummeted, the more she and her close group of friends frequented the library. Lifetimes of knowledge at the top of their fingers, but when it came down to it, studying went out the window when they came together.
When around Felix, Calypso found it easy to lose focus. His aura was distracting like his sole purpose was to enthral her from the moment he stepped into the room.
"What?" She asked, biting back a smile as he tossed a book between his hands.
He feigned innocence, "What?"
She playfully scoffed and went back to her book, aware of his eyes on her.
Farleigh choked back a gag, as he stared between the two, counting down the days before they shagged, so they could relieve everyone of the tension. It was hot and encapsulated them all.
It was worse when he was alone with just them.
"Jesus Christ," he mumbled, yearning for a cigarette but was constantly reminded of the smoking ban in the library, since he almost sat a whole case on fire the previous year after getting off with one of his professors who boosted his grades for a core course. "Stop."
"What?" The pair chorused as if they weren't the problem. Fortunately, they were sitting opposite each other but that wasn't much help.
Especially not when Felix's eyes zeroed in on a dove symbol hanging from her neck.
"You're wearing your necklace," he marvelled, smiling wider as he placed the book on his table.
"She has tones, I'm sure," Farleigh scoffed.
"Well this one I bought her," Felix's words drove her to gently trace over the charm.
Farleigh groaned, "Of course you did. British people are such saps."
"Well he's my sap," her tone might of been teasing but Felix's heart raced as he sheepishly smiled.
"Careful or he'll blow his load across the table," Fareligh's crudeness brought them out of their bubble.
"Christ Farleigh."
"I found it in my vanity box. Took it off during the summer because Caspian pestered me about who it was from," Calypso informed, ignoring the American.
"You could've said that I bought it," Felix said, holding back a frown.
He bought it around the same time as he got his eyebrow piercing, one maybe two years ago. It matched the tattoo on her stomach, which mirrored the birthmark on Felix's. He lusted over the ink tainting her skin, all the glimpses he saw made him go feral.
Calypso snorted, "And then receive lectures from all six of my brothers? It's exhausting."
"And what attractive-looking brothers they are," Farleigh remarked, pulling out his phone.
"You should say I got it for you next time. And send them my way if they have a problem with it."
Calypso and Fareligh exchanged a smirk, aware of Felix's attitude towards some of her brothers.
"You just want to pick a fight," she noted, playfully jabbing a finger in his direction.
Felix shrugged, "Maybe."
Farleigh went to add his two cents then cursed and looked at some of his notes from his lectures."Fuck, I just remembered, I forgot to tell you about my tutorial buddy."
Calypso rose a brow, "I feel sorry for the poor boy."
Felix chuckled at the dismay splattered across his cousin's face.
"Piss off," Farleigh paused, "Well I didn't forget, he's just got such a forgettable face I guess. Glasses, terrible taste in fashion and an accent I can't place." and an attitude he wasn't fond of.
"Sounds tragic," Calyspo remarked, checking out her nails, before she felt Felix's foot kick hers.
"Don't be mean," she pouted at his words.
Calypso feigned shock, "Yes, you're right, that's Farleigh's job."
Farleigh rolled his eyes, "I considered myself to be a realist. People can't handle that, especially you dear cousin, it bursts your heroic bubble."
"Can't have that, can we Lix?" Calypso reached across the table to grab his hand, positively surprised when he didn't let go, he wouldn't dare to.
"It's not a heroic bubble," Felix retorted, eyes training on her soft hands.
"It is," Calypso nodded, senselessly interlocking their fingers. "But it's sweet."
Farleigh blinked at them, "Sap, I rest my case."
"For now," Calypso knew how much he needed to go on about God knows what, "Or at least when you're off your tits in the King's arms later."
Farleigh clapped, "Yes, I need a drink."
"It's not even ten," a wry smile appeared on Felix's face as he pressed a kiss to Calypso's hand.
"As if we need a reason to drink."
"He's not wrong," Calypso agreed.
Calypso swore she felt eyes on her as they joked for the next hour, but that was the thing with her, everyone watched her like some mystical creature and if that's what they believed her to be, why not give it to them?
___
The football club at Oxford was entertaining, to say the least. As the outgoing person she was, Calypso had made friends with all the players, occasionally sleeping with a few, even their rivals for a laugh. She went to most of their games, just to socialise and they claimed she was their good luck charm whenever they won. Felix was never a fan of her going, especially alone, but she did what she wanted.
Now returning from an afternoon of being thirsted over, she strutted past a first-year who seemed to be leering at her, sporting tin-framed glasses, whilst pulling a dodgy bike along. She took no notice of him as she pulled out her Nokia, flipping it open when it started ringing.
Her wide smile revealed her pearly whites when she saw Felix's name. He was supposed to be in a lecture but he tended to text her when he was supposed to be listening.
Her eyes squinted when he began ranting about some nice lad he ran into, "Who saved your life, Felix? And what is this about your bike getting a flat tire? — right well — Why didn't you just hire a car service or walk?"
___
Pubs were the foundations of universities. Stressed? Drinking can remedy that. Tired? drinking is the perfect cure to wake everyone up before throwing up and narrowly avoiding alcohol poisoning.
In their little section, it was like they were all stacked like sardines, all piled on top of each other, around a table filled with shots and pints. Calypso's designated seat was Felix's lap, sipping on her drink and arguing with India about the most recent Amy Winehouse album.
The Danforth girl's tolerance was moderate, only low when she was emotional. Her glasses were off, and her contacts were in. The cold weather didn't bother her, no, not with Felix's hand tracing beneath her butterfly top and above her low-rise jeans.
Her voice carried through their section, controlling the conversation, whilst Felix governed the tone, ensuring it remained lighthearted. Looks were exchanged, heated yet tender as she scooted further onto his lap, making his arm further wrap around her waist.
Calypso smirked when his eyes very rarely left hers, only to respond or laugh at something his friends said.
It was only until Felix caught the sight of his saviour over by the bar he jolted.
"Oh! There he is. Ollie! Oliver! Oliver! Come here, mate!" Felix gently pulled Calypso off his lap, startling her when he gestured for the unfamiliar boy to come over. "Yeah, come here. Come here," he then got up to greet him, "What? Come here. Unreal. Hiya, mate."
"Hi," Oliver meekly spoke, overwhelmed by the sudden eyes on him.
Felix, towering over him, clapped his hands down on his shoulder, "This is my fucking hero right here. I was just telling everyone how you saved my arse yesterday."
Calypso eyed the awkward new friend of Felix. He appeared to have an old-young face, eyes that seemed innocent and fashion that was heavily lacking.
She leaned over to whisper to Farleigh, "Farls... is that?"
Farleigh's elated gaze flitted away when it landed on Oliver, "Yes. My tragic tutorial buddy."
"New charity case?"
"Clearly," Farleigh snickered as she glanced back at Oliver who stared at Felix like a lost puppy.
India forced a smile, "So cute."
Alicia hummed, "So cute."
"The cutest," Annabel agreed despite herself.
"Hey, take a seat. I owe you a drink. Here, shove up, yeah," on Felix's gentle command everyone moved up except Calyspo and his cousin. "Oh, sorry. Are you with a friend?" he caught the blonde erratic first year by the door waiting for Oliver who quickly shook his head.
Oliver murmured as he sat down, "Er, no, they just left."
"What's his name?" Calypso turned to Felix who set her back on his lap.
"Oliver."
She gasped, "Like Oliver Twist."
"Cali," Felix squeezed her side, offering her a mock glare when people laughed.
She waved him off, "What? It's the only connection I could make to the name," her eyes dragged over Oliver and his wonderment. "Name one person we know called Oliver, you can't. Well apart from this one. Anyway, Oliver is a nice name."
Farleigh couldn't help but add, "If you like a beggar's name."
He shrugged off the disappointed look his cousin gave, instead focused on the enjoyment of the others and the embarrassment of Oliver.
"Farleigh, you knob," Calypso laughed off his callousness and leaned against Felix once more before smiling at the newbie. "I'm Calypso, but everyone calls me Cal."
"Or they call you River," just like Felix's middle name. "but Felix calls her Cali, he owns the nickname, and practically murders anyone who tries," Farleigh commented against his drink.
"No he won't, he's far too sweet," Calypso remarked.
"Not when someone chundered on your outfit last night, at that party," Alicia snickered.
"Oh, then I almost murdered that guy right beside him," Calypso added, putting a grin on most of their faces.
Oliver was intrigued by her, the way she captured everyone, even those who disliked her. She was beaming with vivacity but that's not all, it couldn't be, not when Felix's light added to her act.
"I think it was Jake," Annabel spoke up, sitting on the boy in question's lap.
He objected, "Oi." yet didn't deny not when Felix cast him a pointed look, reminding him of the argument the pair had when it first happened.
"So where are you from Oliver? Must be far," Calypso wondered, not being able to place what region he was from.
"Prescott," Oliver noticed everyone's confusion when he said that.
"It's not in London is it?" Calypso inquired, throwing her arm around Felix's shoulder and playing with the hairs at the back of his neck, drawing a cheeky smile from him.
Felix turned to him, "It's in Liverpool, right mate?"
"Uh yes, it's in Liverpool," Oliver agreed.
"I don't travel that far," Calypso informed.
"Not without a driver anyway," Farleigh quipped, throwing back another drink.
Calypso playfully scowled, "Shut up American."
"As is if Felix would let you go to that dump," Farleigh said through his burps.
"He's not my keeper. But true you wouldn't let me go would you love?" Calypso dared to ask.
"You could go if you want," Felix exclaimed, but no one was convinced.
Calypso turned back to Oliver, "What college do you go to Oliver? There's so many in Oxford."
Oliver awkwardly answered, "Yours."
Calypso's brown eyes shot wide, "Oh."
"How oblivious is young River?" Farleigh laughed.
"I am not. I know things and now I know that we share grounds," she paused, squealing when she saw the Monika stroll in, bag on shoulder and breasts practically on show. "Oh MJ over here."
Oliver turned, recognising the fellow student who received a warmer welcome than him, especially from his tutorial buddy.
"Slags, how are we today?" Monika came over, blowing kisses to everyone, even the unfamiliar face before sharing a seat with Alicia who happily shifted over.
"This is Monika Jane," Calypso introduced her to Oliver.
"My mates call me MJ," Monika added, taking a drink Farleigh gave her.
"So call her Monika." Farleigh clarified, glaring at Oliver who shifted in his seat, catching the reassuring smile from Felix who introduced him.
"This is Oliver."
"Like the beggar?" Monika breathed out, unintentionally making them all laugh.
Oliver's discomfort was obvious and Felix wanted to shield him from it all, "Ignore them."
Calypso steadily recognised the protective act and shifted on his lap, snapping his attention back to her and only her. He pressed a kiss to her arm that rested on his shoulder just as she did the same to his cheek, rubbing the dark brown lipstick into his skin.
Fareligh continued the joke, disregarding their affection, "That's what I said. Sit down, Nika. It's time for a shot."
Everyone chanted, slamming their hands down on the table only adding to Oliver's overstimulation.
"Wait, wait, wait, Jägerbombs," Farleigh proposed, earning nods and more cheers from the table.
"Jägerbombs!" they all chorused, drunkenly laughing like mad.
Oliver cleared his throat, appearing to want to escape their grasp, "I...
"It's your round, man," Farleigh pointed out, true to his antagonistic nature.
Jake hummed, "Yeah, go on, mate."
His good friend Harry agreed, "Yeah."
"I should go to bed," Oliver tried to stand.
Farleigh shook his head, "Wait, no, no, no. No, you can't snake your way out of a round."
"I'm... I'm not."
"It looks like you are."
Booing started and Calypso's eyes darted between the two as she heard Felix's grumbling. Farleigh obviously wanted the boy to suffer for what? She had no idea, but Oliver was a blank slate, new territory, not charismatic but something drew Felix to him.
Harry whined, "Come on."
"You might as well stay, can't jump ship now," Calypso tried, squealing at Felix's kisses trailing her neck.
Oliver's eyes briefly lingered on them, more specifically Felix's lips sucking on her skin before he conceded. "Okay! Okay."
He reluctantly rose from his chair and timidly approached the bar, just as Felix pulled away from his glimpse of pleasure, turning to his cousin with a sigh.
"Farleigh."
Farleigh tilted his head, "What?"
"Just cut him a break, mate."
"What?"
"That round's gonna cost a fucking fortune," Felix exclaimed.
Farleigh replied with indifference, "Pub rules, Felix."
"And I need some air," Calypso rose from Felix's lap, shooting them all a quick smile.
Felix frowned, watching her leave but decided to cater to in need Oliver.
Calypso let out a sharp breath when she was met with the winter air, it was harsh, after all, it was England. The meanest of weathers, but she found peace in it all. Growing up in a family like hers, she grew to use the ugliness of the world, so of course she desired the beauty of fantasy.
So taking out a cigarette she so desperately needed, she ignored the ogling she received from other students and townsfolk who walked past. She placed it on her lips and took a lighter of her bag.
Her flame glowed in the night as it latched onto the tobacco she breathed in.
"Watch out for him."
She jumped at the voice. Michael Gavey, suddenly appeared, halting her moment of calmness.
"Who?" smoke escaped her lips as her heart struggled to steady. His piercing eyes scrutinised her as she stood.
"The book licker, Oliver Quick."
Calypso turned around, not shocked to see Oliver staring at her through the crowds of people as he stumbled over to the table.
When she turned back Michael was already pacing away.
"Bloody hell," she snickered to herself, believing that his words were coated in envy rather than warning.
His unfiltered essence she didn't mind, but he made her cringe whenever he helped her with some of her core courses.
She heard the door swung open and she turned to see Felix step out, with a warm smile on his lips, which faded when he saw the odd student leaving in the opposite direction. He saw the whole thing and kept his distance, glad that she was amused and not frightened.
"What did he want?" he questioned as she shuffled closer.
He pulled her to his chest, protecting her against the chilling cold.
"Nothing, did you pay for Oliver's round?" she asked.
"No," Felix's sheepish smile gave it away.
"How gentlemanly. Careful with that poor soul or he'll fall in love," she cooed, hopelessly staring into his brown pools, trying not to drown, but he wanted her to fall, plummet, like he did whenever he even thought of her.
So he dropped his arms and offered her a hand instead, "Come on."
The same hand that had six stars dotted across the curve.
She took it without question and inhaled one last drag before stubbing it out and following him inside, embracing the drunken cheers that bounced around the room, elevating them like the royalty coursing through Felix's veins.
King and Queen.
But like all royals, they must fall.

a/n:
hope you enjoyed the first chapter and this introduction to cali, my posh babe. she has an impact on everyone she meets, sure she sleeps around but she has one person one her mind... felix. he's equally as obsessed with her, but neither has made the jump to be together and now with oliver and his slimy arse in the mix is gonna be harder than we thought.
her issues with her family will continue as will the mentions of her parents and brothers and i'll include their face claims if you like even though they will barely be featured in this story.

WARNINGS: SUBSTANCE ABUSE, DEATH AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS TO THE READERS
THE festivities were in full swing, from Pucks to Oberons and knights of shining armour people were dancing, singing, drinking and doing much more. Most of the guests in attendance weren't aware that it was a birthday party and didn't care either.
Even when Duncan held a chocolate cake for Oliver under the blood red lighting and everyone sang him happy birthday they seemed to not know who he was. "Happy birthday dear..."
"Shit, I can't remember his name," a guest commented, fueling the embarrassment splattered across Oliver's face. People snorted and giggled.
"Happy birthday to you."
"Serves him right," Calypso murmured, with her back against Felix.
Most of the night Felix kept her close, annoyed and betrayed by the events played out. Of course, he told Calypso what happened, how could he not? She was right and he reassured her that she was, not wanting to keep her in the dark, like he stupidly was.
To say she was disgusted was an understatement. She was mortified for a multitude of reasons. The lies... just to seem interesting. The veil of deceit all to drew Felix in. Drunken dad and crackhead mother? Dead dad, all because Felix was pulling away. Because being himself simply wouldn't do. Oliver had to make up the web of lies, the working class background, being an only child. Did he even wear glasses? Did he need them? He had sisters and a loving family, something unheard of to Calypso and yet he took it for granted, just to fit in, just to gnaw his way into a world that he didn't belong to, couldn't even if he tried and try he did. He forged a path, no, he forced a path just for credibility and even then it didn't work. How embarrassing, for the talented Mr Quick.
Calyspo and Felix danced, his hands trailing down her front, swaying to the melody of the upbeat song blaring through the castle-like house. His attention was on her and the drugs pumping through his system aided his loving mission. She looked like a fucking dream he never wanted to wake up from.
He rubbed circles around her waist as she giggled up at him.
"I fucking love you, I'm so in love with you!" he yelled through the noise, causing the intoxicated people around them to cheer.
"I love you too handsome," she twirled around and jumped onto him, careful not to damage either of their wings. "You're mine."
"And you're mine," he pushed her up, staggering through the house as they laughed, yearning for the eternal bliss they so craved.
But they get it, only when they're together.
"Oh lovers!" they heard a familiar voice.
Monika Jane sauntered into their secluded space, adorning a Queen Titania outfit.
"I just found Farleigh, towering over that Oliver kid – did you know it was his birthday? I didn't. Anyway, he gave me a quick line and now I want beer. Can you imagine that?"
The couple stopped getting off with each other when she pulled out her phone.
"MJ not now –"
"-- say get pissed!"
A flash went off in their faces, but they weren't phased about their compromising possession. Jake and India were in a worse one a few doors down.
"I need to find Farleigh again."
Monika didn't let them say anything in response before she stumbled away.
"Fuck," Calyspo tried closing the door as Felix nipped at her earlobe but they were interrupted.
"Felix!"
Felix groaned into her neck, before shooting a glare at Oliver who stood in the doorway, with pleading eyes and a broken expression.
"Fuck off!" Calypso hissed, "he doesn't want to talk to you. Or look at you."
"This is between me and him," Oliver reasoned, but Felix didn't want to hear it, neither of them did.
"Get lost," the Catton boy pushed the door shut.
Calypso frowned when Felix buried his face in her bare neck. She rubbed a hand over his back, briefly soothing his stress.
"I am throwing him out and I shouldn't feel bad, he's in the business of misery. He's made to make people feel bad. He creeped you out and he –"
"-- drank our bath water –"
Felix practically gagged at the thought as he pulled back, "He fucking what? When?"
"At some point during the summer, it's weird, but when I joked about it he looked guilty."
Felix felt a surge of emotions, but he believed his girlfriend and knew if he had been told this sooner, he wouldn't of. He hated himself for being so gullible, so blind to the parasite gnawing through his family, to his bloodline and to think he invited the kid to Saltburn as a means of support.
"And I think he got Farleigh kicked out," she slurred. "And –"
"Felix," they heard his mother knock on the door, "Come meet some of my friends. And your father would love to show off his suit of armour. It's wonderful darling, really."
___
"Meet me by the maze and don't get lost," Felix whispered, finally pulling away as Monika tried to drag her along.
"Bye-bye Lix," Calypso squealed, "I love you!"
"I love you more, Cali! Keep her safe MJ!"
With one final kiss, the two lovers were separated by a sea full of guests.
Calypso and Monika drunkenly laughed as they skipped outside, Venetia was drinking away and Farleigh had been moving to the beat of the faint music.
He grinned when he saw his little saviour, "Oh River dear," she threw her arms around him. "Oh, am I glad to see you."
"You're back where you belong," she laughed.
He bopped her nose, "Where you belong."
"Where we belong," they slurred.
Calypso glanced around knowing she would see Felix soon, but she didn't like the wave of reality sobering her up.
So the four snorted a line to liven them up and to escape into the Midsummer night's dream.
"I need to go, find Lix," Calypso dazedly swayed in the summer air. "He says he's gonna be by the maze."
"I was there before," Venetia giggled, "I saw a pretty little doze on the way. It's by the pond or the maze. One of them."
Calypso gasped, slapping her hands over her mouth and happily jumping up and down.
"But be careful, it's slippery and the lights are faulty, Duncan was supposed to get them fixed."
"And replaced no doubt," Farleigh snickered, wiping his nose.
___
"What the fuck is wrong with you, Oliver? Get the fuck away from me," Felix was backed into the Minotaur, holding onto Oliver's jacket as he gripped onto his arms.
"Ah, fuck...Look, I just gave you what you wanted! Like everyone else does," Oliver cried, "Everyone puts on a show for Felix. So I'm sorry that... my performance wasn't good enough."
Felix found his voice, but something caught his attention.
"Is that," his fluttering eyes narrowed onto Oliver's neck, mouth gaping when he saw the glimmering angel on his neck. "You stole Cali's necklace."
"What? Felix, I didn't — no I didn't. I found it," Oliver staggered back when Felix pushed him.
"She went mad searching for it. And you took it. You'd stolen it from her. She was so upset, she cried her eyes out and the whole time you knew." Felix felt sick, it sent a chill down his spine. "You need help. I think you need to see somebody. You need help, okay? Seriously."
Oliver vigorously shook his head, "No. No, I don't. I just need you to understand how much I fucking love you. She doesn't love you, not like I love you."
"I love her," Felix's eyes never met his, they were trained on the necklace he wanted to rip off Oliver.
"You don't love her," Oliver raged, taking a swing of his bottle, before ripping off the dove and letting it fall to the ground. Just as Felix rushed over to pick it up, Oliver kicked it away. "I mean, doesn't this just prove how much, how much of a good friend I actually am? That I'm willing to show you she doesn't care."
Felix didn't believe him, "She does."
"She cares more about jewels and titles, not your love," Oliver exclaimed, in a pleading tone.
"I love her, I always have. I bought her that necklace. And you took it from her," Felix looked at him like he was nothing. All he saw was a snake, who wore dear antlers and paraded around like nothing was at fault. Like he was not at fault. "You hurt her. You're not a good friend if you don't know that it hurts me to see her in pain. You're not the same person I met Oliver."
"I'm still the same person. Yeah? I'm still the same person."
"I don't know what you are. Cali warned me about you," A wave of joy came over him as he thought of her but it faded away when he stared coldly into Oliver's eyes, "But I do know you, you make my fucking blood run cold."
The power of Felix's hard-hitting words made Oliver stagger back.
"Wait there a sec," pushing the bottle into Felix's grasp, he ran behind the statue and threw up, gagging as he coughed the rest of it out, " Fuck. Ah."
Hearing the boy who he once thought was his friend in such a state, Felix couldn't stop himself from asking, "Better?"
"Fuck you," Oliver spat out as wiped the sick from his mouth with the back of his hand.
"I think you should go to bed," Felix took a swig of the bottle, not bothering to look behind, too focused on the necklace he crouched down to retrieve from the maze floor.
"I don't care what you think any more."
Felix took no notice of Oliver walking away because he found the necklace Calypso so desperately needed. The priceless gift she cried herself to sleep for all because it meant something to her, to him, to them and it was in his grasp.
She will be so happy, He thought.
Felix brought it to his chest, so it kissed his heart, sporting a bittersweet smile as the bottle fell out of his other hand and the weight of the night brought him tumbling down.
___
"Oh- oh," Calypso staggered as she made her way to the dock of the pond, taken back by the pretty bird at the edge of it. "Such a beautiful thing," she giggled when she finally found one. It only took an entire summer. She wanted to bring the news to everyone, anyone who would hear it, like Sir James. But most importantly her Felix. "I lost my dove," she spoke quietly, wary not to scare it. "And I found you. Felix will be so happy."
She scooted closer, now on her knees as she crawled over the slippery wood, almost nearing the end.
Fortunately, no one was around to see her like this.
She could barely see herself, her contacts were burning her eyes because of everything she took. But the sight was worth it.
She looked pretty, Felix told her that himself.
"Come here little bird," she just wanted to pet it, she gasped when her hand almost slipped, "That was close."
She beamed at the bird that symbolised all she held dear.
Love.
Like the fairy she was, Calypso wanted to fly, but instead, she fell or was she pushed?
The thoughts coursing through her mind were clouded. Her mind screamed and the water burned as it filled up her mouth, forcing itself into her throat as she repelled, and thrashed around.
An anchor-like weight pulled her down or held? She didn't know nor could she tell. She wanted to fly. And now she floats. Wings spread as her heart exploded, halting her struggle against the shallow tide.
And in her last moments, flashes of her love popped up in a sharp light, a light that grew weaker as his hand reached for her, tugging her closer until she let out a shuddered breath.
And in the end, all that was left of Calypso Danforth was a shallow grave and a rock with her name painted across, sunken in the pond for all eternity, next to her beloved Felix.

THE END
a/n:
and to think that farleigh would be burdened with both of their deaths because drugs would be found in their system. cali had a heart attack when she was held down in the pond. she and felix died the same night, and i think if she had to find him the next morning she wouldn't be able to survive without him. i am in no way encouraging their love because it's based on dependency and fantasy.
i was planning on her dying like this, i did make clues throughout the story. i was worried that it would've been too obvious but i didn't mind if any reader caught on. i must say i like writing this story, although at time it's challenging, trying to keep oliver's character progression in sync with cali's realisation. there was never a scene where he would physically harm her because he understood what she was to felix and how she was blinded by his affection therefore she would never get with oliver.
i tried to touch on as many themes of the film as well as catering to my oc. it was a simple take on saltburn fanfiction and i hope you all enjoyed it, especially reading through a lens that may or may not be familiar to you. i did think about writing a funeral for cali, but i liked the ending the way it was, so understand there won't be a prologue.

WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF DEATH
"VEE, what the fuck is going on?" Felix asked his sister as he Calypso and Oliver all crouched around the top of the spiral staircase.
Venetia shushed him, "It's Farleigh."
Oliver softly asked, "What happened?"
"He tried to nick something."
Calypso didn't believe that, she could hear the faint arguing and Farleigh pleading with his aunt to believe him.
Felix gasped, "What are you talking about?"
Venetia softly scoffed, "He's a fucking idiot."
"He's not a fucking idiot, he wouldn't do that," Calypso mumbled.
They heard Duncan demand, "Move!"
And with Elspeth's pleading Farleigh was escorted out.
Felix's soft eyes widened, "Fuck."
That caught his mother's attention and they quickly dispersed.
___
"I mean, it's outrageous!" Venetia exclaimed, sunbathing on the small dock hovering over the pond.
The heat was even more outrageous, they all were spread out of the green, close to the edge of the pond, wearing swimsuits. Felix sat next to Oliver who had his knees to his chest and Calypso resting on a towel, wearing her prescription sunglasses as she tried to block out the speculation.
Oliver questioned, "What actually happened?"
Felix informed, "He sent an email to Sotheby's to say that he'd 'come by' some Palissy plates."
Venetia scoffed, "I mean, the idiot. He had to have known that Dad went to school with the chairman. I mean, talk about biting the hand. And Mum and Dad would give him anything he asked for."
"Yeah, well, obviously he got sick of asking."
"That's ridiculous. He's more spoilt than we are."
Calypso rolled her eyes, pulling out her phone to text Farleigh that she would try and convince his aunt and uncle to have him back, even though it was likely they would, everything was too stressful right now. She missed Farleigh and it had only been an hour, the guy was a prick but he held a place in her heart. He was the one to give her the nickname River – a bad joke about how it was Felix's middle name but it just stuck.
"I mean, come on, Vee. You... You have to admit. It's a little bit dark, him having to go to Mum and Dad with a begging bowl," Felix huffed.
"Oh, boo-fucking-hoo."
Calypso snapped, "Have a fucking brain. He didn't do anything."
"How would you know, trouble?" they all turned to her.
"He's your cousin," Calypso sat up, eyes darting between the siblings. "he's not thick enough to steal something belonging to any of you or anything at all, I mean for Christ's sake Felix you and him have matching rings," her love sheepishly glanced down at his signet ring. "There are certainly other people in this house more inclined to steal. Farleigh is a shit-stirring prick but not a liar," she targeted Oliver briefly. "Nor a thief. He's your cousin and you're all so quick to dispose of him."
"We're not disposing of him," Felix tried, but she only shook her head.
"You'll probably do the same to me next."
Felix was extremely hurt to hear that, even more, distressed that she was lying so far away from him.
Venetia went to say something but Oliver beat her to it, "Cali, are you alright?"
She snapped her head towards him, and Felix and Venetia were shocked that he referred to her as that.
"I'm fine. Olly," Calypso muttered bitterly.
Felix didn't like her nickname rolling off Oliver's tongue, not one bit. He tried to get her attention but Venetia quickly warned them to stop speaking about Farleigh after seeing her parents stroll over.
"Guys, guys, guys."
Felix hushed, "Oliver, don't mention it, okay?"
Oliver's brows furrowed, "What happens if they bring him up?"
"They won't."
"What a glorious day," Sir James noted, walking beside his wife with his Panama hat in hand. "Never known a summer as hot as this one. Sweltering. I think it's even hotter than last year. I didn't think that was possible, but here we are again."
Calypso put down her phone when she caught Felix waving at her, she softly waved back annoyed that she couldn't ignore him.
"It's hotter than Barbados, apparently. Barbados!" Sir James said looking around.
Elspeth gushed, "No, I can believe it, darling."
"Honestly, I don't think I've ever been hotter in my life," he remained astonished as his wife collapsed into a lounge chair. "Oh, I need to check with Robert ...to make sure that he's being extra vigilant with the hydrangeas."
"Very wise, my love," Elspeth exhaled, "Oh, bliss. bliss, bliss, bliss." she hummed when she heard the song quietly playing. "Mmm! Oh, this song. God, I haven't heard this song in forever." She sighed, "I used to hang out with them all, actually, when I was modelling," she paused, "Your mother did too Calypso, right before your dad trapped her," Felix noted his love's face drop slightly. "Britpop, Blur, Oasis. God, the parties. Oh, but then, of course, 'Common People' came out and everybody thought it was written about me. Which was completely mortifying and ridiculous. I mean, I barely knew Jarvis."
Venetia called out, "What? "
"She came from Greece. She had a thirst for knowledge. It couldn't have been me. I've never wanted to know anything." Elspeth groaned, "God, I wish we didn't have to go to London."
"I didn't know you were going to London," Felix said, playing with the grass beneath his feet.
"Pamela's funeral."
He replied softly, "Oh."
"Pamela died?" Oliver turned to him shocked, apparently, he was the only one who didn't know.
"Yeah."
"She'd do anything for attention."
Oliver seemed very affected by her sudden death, guilty almost.
"My love?" Felix called out to her.
"Hmm."
"Where's your necklace?" he noted her neck was bare and slowly she did too.
"Holy shit," Calyspo patted around, to see if it fell off but it didn't. "I think I took it off when I got in the bath, worried it was gonna slip down the drain."
Elspeth waved her off, "It's fine, if you lost it you can just get a new one."
"Fuck," she rushed off and Felix was quick to go after her.
"I don't know what the problem is, Felix will replace it," Elspeth breathed out.
___
"Cali it's okay, we'll find it," Felix watched his Calypso fall apart as she scoured his room, needing to find her necklace.
Her perfect dove necklace.
She didn't want to make a mess, with every movement she put his things back how they were, the same with the bathroom, not wanting to give anyone the excuse to get rid of her.
"I can't – I don't know where it is. I'm sorry," she revealed, with tears pooling in her eyes.
He immediately rushed over, cupping her face, as a way to calm her. Her crestfallen expression made his heart hurt, he couldn't bear to see her like this.
"Why are you apologising? It's fine if we can't find it," he tried, feeling her face tremble as she tried holding back her tears.
Her lip quivered, "How? You brought it for me ages ago."
"Maybe I could get a new one for you."
Her face tensed making him quickly regret the suggestion, she pushed his hands away, staggering back in disbelief.
"What?" she rasped, "It cost a fortune Felix, it has sentimental value you can't just replace it."
"I didn't mean it like that," he promised, he just wanted to find a solution.
One that would calm her down but she was a mess over this necklace.
He only ever saw her like this when her parent's neglect hit her particularly hard and he always knew how to cheer her up. Making her tea – with a lot of milk and three teaspoons of sugar, or buying her a vanilla latte before they took an evening stroll, reading books together or even talking about their day to each other.
But now, his brain was stuck, partially due to his cousin's absence, which clearly impacted her more than him.
"No I can't – you can't just get a new one. I want that one the original one," she stressed, breathing heavily as her glossy eyes darted around the room. "You can't replace something priceless. Please understand that."
"I do, I really do," he vigorously nodded, annoyed that he kept putting his foot in his mouth, "I mean, we'll try and find it. I'll get Vee and Olly to help."
He then saw her pull a face he was unfamiliar with.
It was nasty, nothing like her.
"No, not that freak," she spat, startling him.
Felix sighed, "Don't be like that."
"I don't trust him," she cried out, with a tear finally trickling down her face, steaming her glasses so she pulled them off, letting them drop to the floor. "I don't like him, he shouldn't be here. Farleigh should be."
He slowly approached again, "It's okay."
"It's not, I lost the necklace. I lost the necklace," she sobbed, "help me find it. Just you."
He wrapped his arm around her as tears soaked his chest, "I'll help you, pretty girl. I'll help you."

a/n:
my girl is going through it. yes, oliver took the necklace, sneaking into the bathroom after she took it off and left. it's a punishment, just like he set farleigh up after the the public embarrassment. you could say that he wants to make cali look insane in front of felix, but would that really work, considering felix just wants to make her happy and is in love with her?
the fact she had to defend farleigh again proves that not only did she care for him but that she understands that everything to the catton's is replaceable. so her losing her necklace and their solution is to get a new one is only adding to her fear. her fear of being abandoned and replaced like her family continue to do to her.
also, I started watching ugly betty again and I love the fashion from 2006/7 mainly the low-rise jeans and clingy vest tops.

WARNINGS: NUDITY, SMUT
SUMMER grew increasingly hot and Calypso loved the long days, catching both tans and tan likes that enriched her skin. The heat ensured they all basked in the water and swam around in the lengthy pond.
But Calypso didn't swim, no she hated it because she couldn't. Only unless Felix carried her through. Neck down she was soaked, bathing suit clinging to her body, leaving very little to the imagination and oh did the boys imagine.
Breakfast was made awkward as Oliver didn't know what to do or how to operate, claiming he wanted over-easy eggs before returning them when he voiced they made him sick. Quite embarrassing really all whilst the topic of doppelgangers occurred, sending a chilling thought over the entire room.
It was made clear to Calypso that Oliver was gaining more confidence when he joined them in the field, where nudity was welcomed and clothes were not. The Catton bloodline spread out, leaving the Danforth girl to lay next to Venetia, where she glossed over the pages of the last Harry Potter book.
It took Calypso a while to read the books, due to her despising boarding schools and to her, Harry Potter was a child who continuously got hurt whilst attending one and no amount of magic could protect him.
She preferred to focus on the words of the pages instead of the weirdness that was a family naked in a field as she would never do this with her siblings.
Felix, who sucked on a lollipop stared at her, yearning to see the tattoo on her stomach, but was grateful she was lying down, or Farleigh would make a flirty comment or an approaching Oliver would take a peek at what believed only he could see.
But her arse was turned to the sun, on show and what a tremendous show it was, not even the high grass could cover it.
"We're over here, Ollie!" Venetia greeted the toned boy with a waving hand.
"Hi, mate," Felix called out.
"Hey," Farleigh scanned him, "No trunks are allowed in the field."
They all burst out laughing as he pondered what to do next and to their surprise he pulled down his pants, revealing what they didn't expect.
"Well, well, well," Farleigh chuckled.
Calypso didn't think there was much to see and turned back to the book.
"Leave him alone," Felix warned after removing the lollypop from his mouth, watching as Oliver stumble through.
"Good for you," Farleigh applauded him.
"What a twist," Venetia used the book to conceal her grin.
"Watch out for thistles, mate," Felix advised, "Thistles, they're everywhere. Seasonal."
"And they like small things," Calypso mumbled, making Venetia cackle, "I meant his height."
"Sure you did, trouble," Venetia snickered.
___
The summer festivities continued, and tennis became a favoured activity to dress up and play.
Calypso only partook in the game if she knew she would get a shot over the net, which she was rewarded with a ton of alcohol.
"Olly olly olly, tits in the trolley, balls in the biscuit tin," She cheered him on when he and Felix won another point as if anyone was really taking score.
"Sitting on the grass, finger up his arse," the Catton siblings joined in.
"Playing with his ding-a-ling-ling," Farleigh sang along.
Calypso was then ushered over from the sidelines and given a racket to use, successfully hitting the ball over the net, only just but it was good enough.
Oliver tried to pour champagne into her mouth at Felix's request, going a little overboard as the liquid dribbled out of her mouth.
"Easy mate you're gonna drown her," Felix joked, pulling the bottle away.
Oliver cast her an apologetic look, "Sorry."
"You can't drown from champagne," Venetia slurred.
"You can drown anything if you're submerged enough."
Everyone turned to look at Oliver before Felix burst out laughing.
"Christ," Calypso wiped her mouth which was sticky with Champagne.
"Sorry," Oliver repeated.
"What the fuck, Olly," Felix brought Calypso closer, going as far as to lick the excess alcohol from her chin.
An act that earned mixed reactions.
Farleigh smacked the ball at them making Venetia cheer.
Oliver forced out a smile as he eyed the two who couldn't keep their hands off each other.
"It's supposed to go over the back line," Calypso whined after Felix shielded her with his body, flipping off his cousin.
"I'll put you over the back line in a minute," Farliegh taunted.
"Like to see you try!"
She already slipped out of Felix's grasp when she saw Farliegh charging her way, yelling and making the others laugh.
___
Days passed and Calyspo started locking her bedroom door whenever she slept, anxious about the blue eyes she thought she caught between consciousness.
She told Felix and he had been suggesting she stay in his room ever since their intimate night, he'd been making it apparent that he was desperate for her and she hadn't given in. Where she obtained the willpower was a mystery.
So early in the morning, she found herself talking to Oliver, not intentionally, no, she would never do that. He questioned her about how she slept and if she was okay. Attempting to be caring, which she surprisingly didn't mind until he started hitting her with some heavy questions.
She returned the favour by asking, "Want a cig?" she offered him as they lounged on sunbathing chairs.
He nodded and took one, "Thanks." it wasn't until he caught her odd expression that he said, "What?"
"Felix told me that you don't smoke."
Oliver didn't reply straight away, fueling her intrigue. "Started recently."
"Right," she smirked as she exhaled.
"Do you get jealous?" he suddenly asked, earning a chuckle.
"There is nothing I want in this life that could make me jealous. If I want something, I get it or wait my turn. I won't take it, because most of the time it's already mine," she answered, turning on her back as he decided to stand near her, towel wrapped around his bare neck.
"So there is nothing you desire then? That you want?" he uttered, dragging his eyes over her bikini, that stuck m to her glowing skin.
"Desire is just another word for lust. Sure I lust over things," she opted to say.
"And they lust over you," he stated, making her grin.
He shuffled closer, causing his shadow to prevent again sun rays from reaching her.
"And you'd be right. But I don't want to be desired or lusted over. To be loved is far better."
Oliver glanced around at the orange horizon and said, "Felix told me about your family. About your parents."
Calypso sighed, "Of course he did. He needs to be silenced that one. But they're trapped in their stage of love. Keeping a hold of it so me and my brothers can see what we should have," she took another drag, "It's fine, I don't blame them. Love shouldn't be shared. It should be confined to one person."
"And do you have that person?" Oliver pressed, just when Felix emerged, beaming at the sight of her, he barely acknowledged his friend.
"What are you two yapping about?" he asked, sitting between her legs.
Calypso in turn wrapped them around his torso and kissed his shoulder.
"My course. Oliver is interested in Ancient Philosophy," she informed, making Oliver cock his head to the side.
It was a lie, but she knew the information would get relayed back to Felix eventually.
"Oh, It's sick mate," Felix said, smiling up at her.
Oliver nodded, grabbing his shades to conceal his eyes, "Right, it is."
"Orpheus and Eurydice has she told you that one Olly?"
"She dies doesn't she?"
Calypso frowned, "And he saved her from the underworld. Actually. It's romantic."
"Very," Oliver murmured, simply watching them interact, trying to ignore the feelings swirling through him.
He couldn't help but recall when Elspeth said that Calyspo was majestically beautiful and was wasting away at university and should leave. He agreed.
He agreed that she should leave.
___
Calypso was beside herself after watching the ring with the entire family and Oliver. She was quite shaken even though Fareligh's commentary made her laugh and Felix's arms were thick enough to grip whenever there was a jumpscare.
She was carving his touch more and more by the day and couldn't take it anymore, not since the last time he was on his knees, pleasuring her with the power of his tongue.
She needed him but didn't want to be a toy to him, one that he would throw away without a second thought.
"You're not my new toy. You're not any toy to me Cali. it's absurd you think that. So what is it you want me to do, how do you want me to prove it to you? That I want you, that I will do just about anything for you?" Felix's eyes softened with devotion and care as they stood in his shared bathroom, listening to the sounds of his bath filling up. "Just tell me and I'll do it."
"I just want – I want assurance," she demanded, loosening the belt of her robe. "That you won't drop me if someone else asks you to."
"You're the only one who has that power over me, pretty girl," he cupped her face with his hands, tracing the curves of her cheekbones. "I'll show you how perfect you are. That I will fucking worship you."
"I don't want to be worshipped, well," she gulped at his pointed stare, "I do but I want to be loved, Felix."
A smile burst on his face, the most loving one she ever saw.
His hands dropped and he untied the belt of her robe, making her chest rise and fall as she stood bear in front of him.
"Felix..." she watched as he now stood there exposed.
"You think I don't love you," he shook his head, even though he wasn't mad, "let me show you how much I do."
"Don't say shit you dont –"
"-- I mean it," he promised, senselessly pulling her closer, adoring the gasps falling from her lips as he tugged her towards the bathtub. "Roman's bathed together, didn't they?"
"I guess they did."
He got into the steaming bath first, then held out a hand and helped her in. Nothing in the world would knock his smile, not with her straddling his lap, whining his name and gripping onto his board shoulders. She bared her body to him, she was vulnerable whenever he was around and loved it. He loved her, glistening under the rays of the light which only spread over them.
"So perfect," he muttered against her lips.
"Then kiss me."
Felix wasted no time pressing his lips to hers, moving gently, scared to startle her, but Calypso wasn't shy about returning his passion, his adoration. He stopped being a gentleman on her request, slipping his tongue into her mouth, moulding them together, tasting the liquor and sweetness dripping from her.
She found herself grinding against him, yearning for more, his mouth wasn't enough last time, nor were his fingers. She needed more and he was prepared to give her everything. He shifted his legs, sending shockwaves to his spine as she hovered before him and sunk down slowly moaning his name with need.
Felix kneaded her arse as she bounced, whispering to her how perfect she was on repeat. He couldn't think of anything else but her, all his nerves wrecked through his body as his mouth dropped open, praying for her to keep going.
"I love you..." he grunted, thrusting up into her, causing more moans to pour from her lips which he captured again in a fierce kiss.
She lost herself as she rode him, bringing them both closer to their releases.
His mouth dropped to her breasts, sucking and nipping making her a bigger whimpering mess.
The bath was the centre of the room, like a stage for them to perform and boy they needed to perform.
Her eyes fluttered shut as his finger traced every inch of her, circling her clit until she couldn't take it anymore.
Calypso huffed out a breathy laugh, collapsing onto his chest after he pulled out panting in her ear as he finished. Felix took a great deal in her aftercare, making sure she was okay, helping her get out, smirking at her shaking legs and then laughing when she swatted him away.
It took a few minutes for her to put on the gown after drying and brushing her teeth next to him as he did the same with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"You know... we're not finished right?" he said promisingly, hearing the bath drain behind them.
She grinned so hard her cheeks hurt, "I know."
The door was pulled open, making her release it was never shut to begin with.
Oliver tentatively stepped in, appearing more flushed than her.
"All right," Felix nodded to his room and Calyspo walked ahead, gasping when she felt a sting to her arse. "Night, mate," he called out closing the door. "So..."
"Soo..." she pushed him over to his bed, "you're right. We're really not done."

a/n:
cringing at the thought of what oliver did after their smut scene. man was having a field day. (i'm starting to hate smut scenes now, only wrote this because it pushes the narrative along). what do you think oliver's thoughts on calypso are? it's clear he finds her attractive but in relation to felix, do you think he's jealous? i do but we'll see more of how that's explored because so far their interactions have been very passive.
i'm adoring farleigh and cali's relationship. and now that cali and felix are together they'll be even more expressive with how they are. you might've noticed cali not saying 'I love you' back to felix, it's only because she's still feeling like she's one of his toys (which you could argue she is for the time being) but it's just doubts in the back of her mind.
and i'm trying to include as many canon scenes as possible but it's hard fitting them in. i'll reference as many as possible so don't worry, just like i did with shelley's doppelgänger.

WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF PARENTAL NEGLECT AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE
CALYPSO woke up to a bedside table full of necklaces. Elspeth reportedly told her son to get one that looks like her priceless dove. Some were various birds, the rest were very similar but Calypso knew and she wouldn't wear another, so she was without her dove.
Felix had been apologising on behalf of his mother, annoyed that she thought this was a good solution when he had been up all night searching whilst his love slept burdened with nightmares. He regretfully questioned the birthday boy throughout the night before giving up to catch some rest.
When he woke he mentioned how he had talked to Oliver's mum and how she sounded coherent, and healthy, making Calypso's suspicions grow. Felix had answered the call when Oliver hadn't been around and considered taking him as a birthday present and Calypso didn't hesitate to agree.
"It's the only family he has left. He should see her for his birthday," Calypso encouraged, standing between his legs as he finished spraying his aftershave.
"Yeah, that's really nice of you Cali. Really sweet," his infectious smile grew on her face.
Her heart swelled at the praise, "You know me."
"Yes, I do. And I'm sorry about the necklace. I told mum to leave it but she insisted that a Lady's neck shouldn't be bare and she got so used to seeing you with one so."
"It's fine. Trust me, it was only a nervy b, we all have one, I just did over a necklace," her hands senselessly reached to palm neck.
Noting her dimming mood he pressed kisses, trailing from her lips down to her bare spot.
"I know it meant a lot to you," he mumbled against her honey-scented skin.
"Sir James said as they set up the party, we'll look to see if there are any doves so I don't miss my necklace."
He beamed, "How nice."
She nodded, "Very, drive safe and keep your phone on."
"I love you," Felix said, standing up and bringing her to a warm embrace.
"I love you too."
___
Calypso spent the day, listening to Lily Allen, trying to calm her mood but it did the opposite. All she could think about was Oliver. She hated him. Farleigh was gone, and Venetia wouldn't read between the lines until it was too late. Oliver drank their bath water...allegedly, he clung to Felix like a shadow, was he obsessed? In love? Or did he just want to be him? She had a feeling he took her necklace, and wanted to make her look insane, so she had to behave the exact opposite. Summer break was ending, and she wanted to graduate and make her parents acknowledge an achievement.
So she would play along with the game she was convinced Oliver was playing. Dress up for his party shortly after she and Sir James concluded their bird watching. Monika would be showing up soon and no doubt to see both her and Farleigh.
So that begged the question, would Farleigh be allowed back?
"Farleigh," she said, looking over at his uncle.
Sir James snapped his head towards her, pulling back his binoculars and settling down his snacks.
"Did you say something dear?"
"He made a mistake," no he didn't. "He's an idiot," no he isn't. "And he loves you all," no he doesn't. "Is he allowed to come back? He's family and should attend an event his family is hosting right?"
Sir James stammered for a moment, "My capricious nephew will attend tonight's festivities."
He in actuality, had felt tremendously guilty for sending Farleigh away without being certain of his crimes and had been planning on inviting him back already.
"Oh," Calypso breathed out, grateful she didn't have to do much to change his mind. "That's great."
"And apologies for the loss of your beloved necklace."
She offered him a small smile, "I wish we saw a dove before they leave for September."
"We must keep hope Calyspo," he squeezed her shoulder as they looked across the green, now being flooded full of decorations.
"Yes, I must."
"And I was on the phone with your father," he missed the hurt swimming through her eyes. "He said he was unaware you were here."
She gulped and bowed her head, "I told him before. He must not have been listening."
"Well, he knows now," he reassured, although she thought her father would neglect to care, "Ooh, I must hurry, put on my suit of honour before the guests start arriving."
"It will look splendid."
He smiled gratefully in response.
___
An hour went by, and Calypso was freshly waxed, make-up delicately applied and costume lightly resting against her figure. A stunning ivory butterfly corset shimmered against her toned torso, with a pearl skirt encircling her waist and barely covering her behind with a sheer undercover. She topped off her slutty angel costume with glistening wings and cute white hair jewellery to complement her flowing braids.
As she was finishing spraying glitter spray on her legs, an uncharacteristically annoyed Felix threw open her room door.
"Honey, how was the trip? I take it didn't go well," she shuffled over after he made sure the door shut behind him.
"You look angelic," he would've been salivating if it wasn't for him reeling at the lies he'd been told. He made sure to compliment her first, it was impossible not to. His palms were sweaty and his heart raced. "And no it didn't go well," he gently kissed a kiss to her lips before flopping onto her bed.
Calypso internally screamed as she straddled his waist, looking like the goddess he knew she was, the only thing missing was her necklace.
"What happened?"
"You were right," Felix groaned when she trailed kisses over his neck. "Oliver is a snake. He's leaving after his party."
Calypso's eyes twinkled with mirth, "Good. he'll be gone and we'll be alone at last. Happier than ever."
He agreed, "Happier than ever."

WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF RACIAL PREJUDICE, MATURE CONTENT, ED'S, SEXUAL ASSAULT.
POOR Dear Pamela had quietly left, and no one took knowledge of her absence, it was like she wasn't there, to begin with. But as salacious days breezed past, the atmosphere of Saltburn shifted, was it because of the secrets or the lies people were telling? The answer was all up in the air. And now Farleigh informed his cousin about what he alleged to have witnessed during the night, which meant Felix didn't wake up in the best of moods.
"They've been giving each other fuck me eyes all summer, why are you so surprised?" Calypso laid back in Felix's bed as he paced before her.
"It's bad form," he murmured, completely disheartened by what Farleigh told him.
"Terrible. It's like Eddie, well, almost what you told me about him and Vee. But hear Oliver's excuse, if he even has one," Her words drew a frown from him as she shuffled down his bed.
"You believe Farleigh? Truly, he's a shit-stirrer," Felix didn't want to believe his new friend would do something like that.
"He rarely lies. Jokes, taunts, teases yes, but lies? No. Oliver crossed a line. Remember how you hated my brothers for fucking your sister?" Calypso deadpanned.
He scrunched up his face in disgust, "Christ Cali, I didn't need the visuals."
"See it's distasteful," she pointed out, standing up to pull him to stand still, "Biting the hand that feeds you, is bad form. Just like you said, Lix."
"I'll talk to him," Felix stated, "when I'm ready."
"Don't trust him."
Felix sighed, "You don't like him anymore, is it because of Farleigh?"
Calypso shook his head, "Talk to him and we'll see, now let's go to breakfast, I want a croissant." Just as she went to turn around, he caught her hand and drew her in for a kiss, "what was that for?"
"You said we'll," he smiled like he did when he woke up to her, "and I haven't kissed you in an hour."
"You are a sap," she squealed, rising on her tiptoes to peck him before dragging him along.
"I'm not a sap."
"Sure you're not my love."
Arriving at breakfast, the moment Felix saw Oliver emerge a frown reappeared on his face. Farleigh couldn't help but smirk as he glanced at Calypso who playfully rolled her eyes and dug into her spread. Eating outside was perfect, it was far too hot inside the house and her portable fan wasn't doing the trick. The two also noticed how much Venetia had been eating much to Oliver's benefit, further proving Farleigh's point, but Felix was far too focused on the dazzling girl next to her to acknowledge it.
"You sleep well?" Oliver asked his friend who shifted away from him, lighting a cigarette.
Felix reluctantly replied, "No, not really, mate."
Calypso leaned forward, looking past her Felix to say, "He had a bad dream, all about being stabbed in the back. You'd know all about that Oliver."
Oliver's face tensed at her words and more importantly, the ghost of the smirk tugging at her lips before he turned to Venetia.
"We're 30 for dinner tomorrow night," Sir James informed, "Stopford Sackville has cried off."
"Oh, dear, that's a shame," Elspeth replied.
"God, I forgot about fucking dinner," Felix exacerbated with a cigarette between his lips.
"Wait, who is coming to dinner again?" Farleigh questioned.
"The Henrys," Venetia answered, picking apart a croissant.
"No, please!"
Calypso wracked her brain, trying to remember why they sounded so familiar.
"Who are the Henrys?" Oliver wondered aloud.
Venetia spoke, a mouth full of pastries, "Dad's friends. They're all called Henry."
"Not all of them. Just most," Sir James added.
Realisation splattered across Calypso's face, "Mums told me about some of them, they're too touchy."
"Extremely touchy," Venetia agreed.
Felix turned to Calypso, saying, "We don't have to go if you don't want to."
She mustered up a smile but Elspeth interrupted, "You're all attending, it'll be rude if you didn't."
"It'll be being molested by Henry," Venetia objected, shooting a glance at her father, "You know which one."
"I'll put you next to Oliver, then. He can molest you instead." Elspeth retorted.
Venetia didn't object to that, instead staring ahead at Oliver whose face seemed to light up. Felix noticed, causing his face to fall.
"Farleigh was right," Calypso whispered in his ear, but still, Felix didn't want to believe it to be true.
Elspeth softly gasped as she turned to Oliver, "Oh, Oliver, I was going to say, we should do something fun for your birthday. A proper party. No Henrys. Something actually fun."
Calypso glanced up to see a footman pour a drink into Oliver's cup, one of the few people who looked like her and Farleigh, spreading a discomfort onto the pair of them.
"What do you think, darling?" Elspeth asked her husband.
Sir James encouraged, "If Oliver would like it, I think it's a splendid idea."
"I think Oliver looks like he'd rather throw himself out of a window," Farleigh sarcastically spat, amusing Calypso, although she didn't let it show when she pressed a kiss to Felix's cheek, trying to cheer him up.
Oliver forced himself to turn away and asked, "What kind of party?"
"I don't know. Whatever you want," Elspeth leaned closer, "What do you think? About a hundred people?"
Oliver thought he misheard, "A hundred?"
"Or two. It invariably ends up being two, doesn't it, with this sort of thing? Calypso had five hundred for her sixteenth," Elspeth chuckled. "Remember? Your dad even tried to invite the prime minister."
Calypso grinned at the memory, "Oh I remember. Venetia almost threw up everywhere."
"She did," Felix muttered.
Venetia scoffed, "Oh shut it."
"That doesn't surprise me," Farleigh smirked.
Oliver looked back and forth between the four, envious of the memories and banter they shared.
"It surprises no one," Elspeth chuckled, before turning back to Oliver, "Invite whoever you want. All your friends."
Farleigh mocked, "What friends?"
"Why doesn't he invite Gavey? You know the one you ditched for Felix?" Calypso spoke up and Farleigh pointed to her in agreement.
For a moment everyone turned to Oliver expectantly, and all he could say was, "We don't talk anymore."
"Bootlicker..." Calypso coughed out dramatically, causing Felix to gently rub her back, even though Farleigh and Venetia knew she was kidding.
Elspeth asked, concerned, "What was that Darling?"
"Went down the wrong hole," Calypso reassured them all as she picked up some water.
"Do be careful," Elspeth advised and her husband nodded along, flipping through his paper.
Oliver decided to nudge Felix's leg but he instead turned to face his Calypso once again.
"Oh! Oh! How about fancy dress?" Sir James shot up excitedly.
Elspeth agreed. "Oh, yes!"
"I can wear my suit of armour, Elspeth."
"Good idea, darling," she agreed, just when Venetia stormed off. "We could have a theme. What about Midsummer Night's Dream?"
Sir James smiled, "Lovely."
"Bring on the slutty fairies," Farleigh jabbed.
Calypso pouted, "How did you know that's what I was going to wear?"
Farleigh pointed to his head, "Psychic."
"You'll look pretty," Felix finally smiled, turned on by the thought of how amazing she would look in her costume.
"So will you with cute wings," she gushed and nodded.
Elspeth wore a tender smile, her husband would've also but he was too busy thinking about his suit of armour.
Farleigh huffed out a laugh, "Two slutty fairies, what a delight."
Everyone was focused on potential costumes to see Oliver's tightening jaw.
___
Felix louged on a sunbed, shirt off, with his Calypso applying sunscreen, warning him that he would burn easily. He was calm, or at least trying to be, his cousin's warnings echoed through his head as he helped her apply sunscreen to her back, just before she straddled him, letting him rant about the party.
"Yes my love, you'd look sexy as a slutty fairy but now we have to throw a party for him and I'm not sure about it. It's too soon – and please don't say I told you so."
"I won't, but Lix," she sighed when he frowned, she hated when he looked so unlike himself. "Fine. let me tell you something else. Okay? Nothing to do with Judas from Manchester."
"Liverpool," Felix corrected.
"Hull," she said waving him off, ignoring his chuckle as she traced his stomach, "you have to watch," she whispered, and he finally looked away from her face to where her finger was. He embraced the tingling feeling as she spelt three words, eight letters... "there."
He blinked slowly when he realised what it meant, what it said and the sincerity in her eyes. He'd been waiting for her to give him a sign that she returned his feelings and here it was.
"Do you really?" he dared to speak, voice cracking slightly, "You love me?"
"I love you and I'm sorry it took me so long to say, i was scared, unsure that I would say it wrong, or do it wrong, I don't know –" she was cut off with his lips smacking against hers. His arms pulled her in. It was a fierce kiss, nothing gentle like he usually was, and she loved it even more. "I love you," she muttered after she reluctantly pulled back.
"I love you too," Felix said quietly, wanting this moment to last.
"I love you," she repeated, feeling light and full of relief. This is how my parents must feel, no wonder they kept it to themselves. Love was indescribable to her, but also unique and pure. "I fucking love you."
The pair were grinning like mad.
Calypso squealed when his kisses trailed from her mouth to her neck and littered her breasts.
"Now?" she moaned when he tried to untie the back of her bikini.
"Why not? Fucking hell I'd – shit!" he pulled away, seeing Oliver gingerly walking towards them. "Fuck sake."
Calypso screeched when she saw him, "What the fuck?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt," Oliver awkwardly pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it onto the sunbed next to them.
Calypso scoffed, "Right."
"It's alright," Felix murmured, keeping his eyes on hers, "he didn't see anything," he whispered, "I promise."
Calypso didn't respond and rested her head on his chest as his hands rubbed over her back.
"Hey," Oliver waved at them, lying with his stomach against the sunbed.
Felix was the only one to reply, "Hey."
"Felix," Oliver asked, "Is everything okay?"
"Yes. Why?"
"You seem annoyed about something."
"I'm not annoyed about anything."
Calypso snorted at his lie, earning a small pinch to the side.
"Okay," Oliver sighed.
"It's just slightly bad form, that's all," Felix stated, making Calypso sit up and stare directly at Oliver.
"What's bad form?"
"What do you think? Getting with Venetia, Ollie," Felix exclaimed, disgusted by the thought.
Oliver scrunched up his face, "What makes you think I got with Venetia?"
Calypso rolled her eyes at the question.
Felix answered, "Farleigh saw you two. It's just fucking cringe, mate. I mean, really, you're my friend. You're supposed to be here with me."
"Look, I didn't want to embarrass Venetia," Oliver muttered.
"No offence, but she's not the one punching in this situation Oliver," Calypso finally interrupted, "if she throws herself at you, you catch her and be grateful."
The boys turned to her, one mildly distressed and the other shocked.
"Cali," Felix shook his head, "I want to know what he means."
"Fine. "
"Well, I saw her... I saw her outside and I went down to see if was she okay. And I think she got the wrong end of the stick because... she tried to kiss me." Oliver caught the scepticism on their faces. "And I politely steered her away."
"Farleigh said you two were practically eating each other," Felix insisted.
Calypso added, "And how you were at breakfast..."
Oliver's eyes widened, "Oh, and you believe him?"
"Yes," Calypso didn't hesitate to say.
"Me and Venetia?" Oliver sounded like the entire thing was out of the question, "Come on."
She could see how Felix was giving in to what Oliver was saying and she didn't understand how. Farleigh was a prick but not a liar. She was frustrated that Felix was eating up something she knew wasn't true. Farleigh wasn't a liar, but Oliver was. And if he could lie about this, what else has he lied about?
So when Felix finished telling Oliver about Eddie, she said, "I think Oliver's lying."
They both turned to her, but she kept her eyes on Oliver.
Felix sighed, "Cali."
She instead, started to laugh at the stunned look on Oliver's face, before turning to whisper in Felix's ear, "Cig break, enjoy the sea of lies."
She got up and blew a kiss at Oliver and then strolled off, leaving the friends to speculate.
Felix waved off his worries, "Don't worry about her, she's... overstimulated."
Oliver gulped as he turned back to him, "You look very close mate."
"We're together," Felix revealed, thinking he could trust him.
"Really?" Oliver didn't react in the way Felix wanted.
"Yeah, aren't you chuffed for me?" Felix's grin started to fade.
Oliver stiffly nodded, "Yeah I'm just shocked."
"Why?"
"You were fucking India and Annabel before, so was she," Oliver pointed out, but that didn't deter him.
"Yeah, months ago. And we agreed to stop," Felix said, getting frustrated.
"How did you know she did?"
"Because I trust her. I love her too. And she told me she loves me," Felix rushed out.
Oliver's gaze dropped to the space between them, "Oh."
"Yeah, so you can drop the protective friend's act. We're fine. And I know you fancy her. Just admit it," Oliver stammered as he tried to respond, but Felix went on, "It's fine mate, it doesn't bother me. I'm with the most beautiful girl, she gets attention from everyone. But she mentioned that she didn't like the staring so try and stop."
"Y-yeah, sure, sorry," Oliver reiterated, "I'm happy for you two."
"Thank you," Felix beamed, "so am I."
___
After returning from another bird-watching session with Sir James, Calypso stumbled into a tense conversion between the giant cousins. She knew Farleigh's mother: Frederica Start was notorious for sqandering money and had been taking handouts from her brother even after she ran off with a psycho to America. She didn't know how bad it was and it was clear it was driving an even bigger wedge between Farleigh and Felix because he had to ask for help... again.
She knew it must have been humiliating to beg, especially with how it looked. Sir James didn't have to work, he had money growing on trees and now they were throwing a party for a boy they hardly knew when they could help but decided it would be better for his sister to stand on her own two feet as if he ever did.
It was beyond hypocritical.
She decided to step in when it grew more heated.
"Seriously, is that... Is that where you wanna take this? Right. Make it a race thing? What the fuck? I mean, we're your family. We hardly even notice that you're different, or anything like that," Felix gesticulated.
"Because you can afford not to Felix," Calypso shocked them with her presence, irritated his terminology.
"Cali what – what do you mean by that?"
Over the summer Calypso noticed how Farleigh had to dim himself the moment he stepped foot on the property, she did as well, unless Felix wasn't around to use him as a shield.
Pushing up her glasses she repeated, "You can afford not to my love."
And with that she left the room, faintly hearing the conversation escalate.
___
Felix hadn't left her side, fearing that he did or said something wrong, well, he knew he did but didn't know how to go about it. He did want to help out Farleigh but his parents wouldn't let him, so he told Calyspo as a way to win some points but she acted unphased. She was used to doing that and so she carried on like nothing was the matter.
And it was hard to do that in the presence of the fucking Henry's.
She continued wearing her glasses, wanting to be aware of any wrinkly hands creeping up her dress or onto her thigh.
Felix made it clear she was with him, but their tension didn't deflate, it couldn't.
"I'm sorry, I really am, for not acknowledging or taking on what Farleigh or you – I mean," Felix's apology was cut off by the sounds of Flow Rida's Low playing through the karaoke's machine.
One of the many Henry's got into the song as everyone lounged about in their elegant dinner wear.
Calypso winced at his painful rapping that wasn't even on beat, but Venetia and Farliegh seemed to enjoy it, cheering along as they grabbed another drink.
"Go, have fun," she encouraged him as Lady Daphne joined her. The glamorous woman waved at Felix, "I have company Lix, it's alright."
Lady Daphne grinned, although it didn't reach her brown eyes, "Yes, Mr Catton she's in safe hands."
Felix regretfully left her with one of the wives of the many Henrys.
"So, you're Christoper's daughter," Lady Daphne realised, considering the pool for black aristocrats is small and for millionaires in their circle was even smaller.
Calypso nodded, flattening out her crimson dress, "The only one yes, and you're husband is a Henry, one of the many ones."
"Indeed."
"Children?" Calypso asked, growing more comfortable around the women.
"Three boys," Lady Daphne answered, not sounding the happiest about it.
No parent Calypso ever met sounded happy about having children unless they could show them off, it begged the question, did she ever want them?
She suddenly asked, "How much do you hate your husband?"
Lady Daphne quietly laughed, "Enough but the title is worth it. Kids, I never see because of school. So I have the time to myself unless I'm dragged to events."
"Like this?"
"Yes," Lady Daphne leaned in to whisper, "it isn't lovely. You should know, it isn't a lovely life," she warned, sobering the girl up. "So be careful."
Felix rejoined her after Lady Daphne went over to talk to some of the other wives, he tapped her leg and provided her with a drink.
"Thank you," Calypso gulped it all down, choosing to distance herself from the advice she knew she would need.
But she couldn't deal with it tonight.
"You look fucking heavenly, I haven't told you that tonight," Felix murmured as he saw Oliver and Farleigh surprisingly engaging in a rather intimate conversation.
It shocked Calypso since she witnessed how Oliver had been trying to talk to Venetia all night.
Calypso's brows furrowed, "You have."
"Oh right I have," Felix huffed out a small laugh and shuffled closer, "are we alright?"
"Yes, why wouldn't we be?" she pecked his lips, "We're fine."
Felix didn't know what to say and hoped she was telling the truth.
But when she sat on his lap, it appeared they were back to normal. Back in their fantasy. He grabbed his blazer and draped it around her shoulders, muttering how much he loved her until it was inescapable. She suggested they get another drink, nodding over to where Venetia stood alone. Felix didn't want to leave her in such a vulnerable state, so he pulled up his love and joined his sister.
"Oh!" Fareligh stole the microphone from a Henry, producing some feedback as he did so. "Okay. Well done, Henry. That was great. Everyone, round of applause for Henry," the song ended, and everyone cheered him. "Okay. Now it's time to take things up a notch." Farleigh decided to put on a new song that began to play. "Er, okay, we have someone here who is a very talented singer. He's your best friend, and mine. Oliver Quick."
Everyone turned to him, clapping when all he wanted to do was sip his drink through a crazy straw.
Sir James was delighted, "Oliver! Come on, up you get."
Oliver was adamant he stayed seated, "No, no, no."
Farleigh pulled him up, "Yes, yes, don't be shy."
"I don't even know the song."
Sir James marvelled, "The words are on the screen, Oliver. that's the best bit. That's the best bit!"
The song lyrics started to show and Oliver had no choice but to sing along. The young adults cheered along, unaware of Farleigh's plan. Venetia whooped as she was fed shots by Calypso who did some herself. Oliver sang along, growing more confident, embracing the cheers from those around him.
Gradually the meaning of the song dawned on each guest, but Oliver, not yet. He was far too overjoyed by the looks of encouragement he finally received from Farleigh and the cheers Felix was giving to him.
Calypso quietly gasped when she understood but liked the song and continued to dance alongside Farleigh.
"Oh!" a Henry breathed out.
Felix softly grabbed Calyspo's shoulders halting her movements. She glanced up to see he was annoyed by what his cousin was doing to his friend. Venetia cringed but wasn't mad, more embarrassed.
"I love you, you pay my rent," Oliver's joyful voice grew strained as he focused on the lyrics, eyes darkening with anger.
Farleigh encouraged, You tell them!"
Felix warned, "Farleigh."
"What?"
Oliver glanced back, "This is your song as well, Farleigh Come finish it."
Farleigh was happy to take over, "Only if you insist," he jumped through the sitting guest, put out his cigarette and took the microphone "You took me to a restaurant," people cheered at his voice. It was very good. "Off-Broadway. To show me who you..."
"Go Farls!" Calypso applauded him, not without a pointed look from Felix.
"He shouldn't have done that," he murmured against her ear, but she kept cheering alongside his sister.
___
"Lovely singing voice Oliver," she congratulated him as she dangled her legs from the shared bathroom counter.
Oliver stood there shirtless, "You found it funny?"
"Not funny, just compliment your singing. Far better than mine," she went on, eyes narrowing as he neared her.
"Did you know that Farleigh was gonna do that?" he asked, tone lower than she ever knew it to be.
He had a malignant look in his eye.
"There is no guessing what Farleigh could do," she replied, swinging her bear legs.
She discarded her red dress and wore one of Felix's shirts shortly after the Henrys left. Felix was waiting for her to run a bath for them, whilst trying to finish the rest of the Harry Potter book, he only had one more chapter to go.
"He's unpredictable," she heard Oliver whisper.
"Exactly."
"And you're not," he pointed out, rather condescendingly.
Something she didn't take too, so she humped off the counter and folded her arms.
"You sure about that?"
He nodded, "Very sure."
"Well, I look forward to your next performance Mr. Twist. And I'll make sure that there's enough bath water for you to lick up after I and Felix finish tonight," she taunted, stepping closer to him.
And she wasn't expecting his next answer.
"You'd saw?" Oliver uttered, tone above a whisper.
Calypso was stunned by the mortification written on his face, but her laughter slapped it off.
"I didn't see anything. But now, I know," she took a step back, eyes darting to the bath running.
"No, you don't. No one will believe you," he whispered, warningly.
"You sure about that?"
"Your word is as powerful as mine. And even then it's not like your parents care," that made her stiffen.
"You want to bring up parents?" she taunted, "Still grieving your dead dad whilst trying to fuck your way through this family? Bad form but you're not even a bad boy. You're boring and it's only a matter of time before Felix sees it and drops you like a bad habit."
"And you don't think he'll drop you? You're just another added to his list of fucks."
She tutted, "Come on Oliver, you're smarter than that. I'm not another, I'm not some slag he uses and gets rid of. No, that's you and you alone."

a/n:
it was slightly difficult to write the felix and cali scenes especially when shining a light on the racial undertones of the film as well as his family as a whole, but it helped to compare it with lady daphne (one of the few black people in the film) who married into a similar family. i had her give cali some advice, things that she already knew but having her see the reality of what might potentially happen to her and felix (just being unhappy and those ignorant views might continue).
also, we know that farleigh's mum was white and dad was black and referred to as a psycho that corrected fredirica. even though that might be true the imagery and history of the connotation were extremely damaging and it doesn't surprise me that farleigh's doesn't get a name.
https://pin.it/yC4i9ffWy (the red dress i imagined cali wearing at the dinner.)
it's tough, I know but I think considering she's finally got the person she loves and he loves her back, she'll cling to that and decidedly ignore "small things" — note the sarcasm —like that to keep a love that she will compare to her parents.

"CHRISTOPHER is the oldest. He's a third, can you imagine that? I know my family is a bit extra but hearing my name across three generations would be a bit unoriginal. He's a nice bloke CJ — what everyone used to call him, almost thirty now." Felix breathed out, lying on his dorm room floor with the cascading rays of golden light spread across his bare chest. "Then there's Charles or Charlie. Irish twins, him and CJ, because they were born less than a year apart. Mum says it was because Christopher the Second wanted to trap Desdemona. I mean I've seen her and I understand."
"Is that your plan then? To trap Cali?" Oliver dared to ask, rather reluctantly, with his shadow looming over Felix.
Felix halfheartedly laughed at the question he didn't deny, instead, he continued listing the Danforth's.
"Then there's Camden: the wild one. Farleigh used to be obsessed with him before he got engaged. But then again, it's obvious they still shag from time to time," his amusement faltered when he moved on to one of the younger brothers, "Then there's Colton."
"Who's with Monika?" Oliver shifted on the window seal, intrigued by the shift in tone.
Felix chuckled, "She's not with him, mate. And that guy doesn't care who he's with."
"Did you two used to be friends?" Oliver wondered although it was clear.
Felix took a drag of his cigarette, pondering his response.
"Yeah, something like that. Just like the twins. Cade and Caspian. The youngest brothers, twenty-two now, were a racket. They all are at times, that and extremely handsome. Some went to Exeter, and the rest just live off their dad, understandable because investment property makes a ton. And Sanguine houses; their business is real estate and that's where new money is at or has been I don't fucking know. I mean Olly you should see the houses they own in this country and all the others. Huge, fat houses."
Oliver pressed, "Sounds like a treat, but why aren't you close to the twins?"
Felix frowned, "Just fell out over something stupid that's all."
"Where are they now?"
"Stretched across the globe imagine, they all like to shift like tectonic plates. One Danforth for every continent," and Cali's here with me. "Cali's parents are here, in their estate, all loved up, it's sickening but cute I suppose."
Oliver hummed, "Must be nice for Cal."
"You'd think that. But they don't give her any attention, make her feel like shit. It's horrible, all that love and they can't share it with their children especially not the only girl."
"Well, now it makes sense," Oliver decided to say, confusing Felix who angled his head up.
"What does?"
"The way she acts. She clings to you like she needs your attention," Oliver explained, earning a look of confusion.
"I wouldn't say that."
"I thought that was obvious, seems like a performance, a show that she puts on just to get something out of you, that she can't get from her mum and dad,"
Felix sat up, scrunching his face in contempt, "Don't be a prick," his reaction stunned Oliver, "Have some compassion, Olly."
"I-I do, I was just making a connection," Oliver stammered.
"We have a tight bond. That's all it is," Felix exclaimed, voice strained by the tainted view of Calypso.
It was wrong in his opinion, she didn't cling to him, no, she's a part of him.
Oliver gulped, "Come on mate, you know that's not true."
Felix remained silent, choosing not to feed Oliver's curiosity and continued smoking in the excruciating heat. Summer in England wasn't lovely, it was thick and inescapable, like Oliver Quick, or so Farleigh said.
Oliver itched to say something else, redeem himself but he didn't know how to play it, instead, his mind drifted to Calyspo.
Calypso fucking Danforth.
Oliver remembered the touch of her lips against his skin. The blush that kissed his cheeks, how his heart skipped when she neared him, the warmth of her essence spread to him like the heatwave they were in now. The Calypso impact wasn't a myth, it was real and he felt it. And yet he couldn't stand how much Felix took it for granted. The kiss of a goddess was fruitless to a guy like Felix. And until he saw them together he wouldn't believe they were made for each other like Farleigh hammered into his head. And if Calypso was so adamant about being with other blokes, she didn't deserve Felix's love or protection, not like him.
"So fucking hot," Felix murmured as the smoke escaped his lips.
Oliver's eyes darted over Felix, "I know."
He knew not to press Felix about Calypso, not right now, instead, he was too disgusted by the stench of the dorm room.
He sniffed, "What's that smell?"
"Erm... I don't know," Felix blinked.
Oliver groaned in disgust, "No. No, no, no."
"What? What are you on about?" Felix sat up once again frustrated by him.
"It's disgusting, Felix," Oliver got off the window ledge and decided, "Right, I'm cleaning up."
Felix's frown didn't leave his face, "It's fine."
"Only rich people can afford to be this filthy," Oliver remarked, picking up a bin and darting around the messy dorm room.
Felix gently scoffed, "Fuck off."
"I mean, you've got fucking pizza on the floor," Oliver walked over his legs, picking up more things to shove in the bin.
"Mate, stop it. I'll do it later. It's fine."
"No, you won't, mate. No, you fucking won't," Oliver let out a condescending laugh, "You'll never do it."
"Yes, I will."
"No, you won't."
"Ollie, yes, I will. I said I'd do it later." Felix tried suppressing his temper, feeling small despite himself.
"No, you won't," Oliver repeated with a scoff.
"Ollie, fucking stop! I'm not a fucking child!" Felix snapped finally, darting up from the floor to snatch the bin from him. Oliver looked quite shaken, but that didn't matter. "I can do it myself!" Felix felt pressured to pick up a few things. "I'm just... I'm just... I'm just hot. It's fucking boiling in these rooms. They'd rather we all die of heatstroke than ruin the fucking wood fucking panelling by putting in air conditioning."
Oliver stumbled back, "Stressing about the exams?"
Felix huffed out a chuckle, "I'm not stressed about the exams, Ol," he shot him a look, rolling his eyes, "You're driving me fucking..." he trailed off, realising why so many of his friends might have been right. He sighed, putting down the bin. "I've got some revising to do. I think I might, er...I might catch you later, yeah?
"King's Arms later?" Oliver tentatively proposed, pained by how the conversation descended.
Felix avoided looking at Oliver as he sat down at his cluttered desk, "Yeah. Yeah, maybe. Erm..."
Oliver shuffled back towards the door, "I'll text you, yeah?"
"Okay," Felix looked down, sending a glance when the door was about to shut. "Of course."
When he was alone he let out a deep breath and picked up his phone to call the one person on his mind.
___
"Why can't I come and visit America with you Cam? Because of your fiancé? He's the worst and you don't like him," Calypso spoke into her phone, lying across her bed, holding up a battery-charged fan.
She didn't want to come across as needy or desperate, fuck no. but the boiling temperature made it so she didn't have much of an emotional filter. The window had been open but all she got in return was hot air so she shut it.
She heard her older brother laugh, "So?"
"So you want me to be alone again for the summer? You all came by and didn't talk to me," she huffed.
"So why do you want to come to Los Angeles with me and the fiancé you fucking hate?"
"You hate him as well you just said. Look, being in Upton is dull, getting off with the same people is shite," she expressed, bringing the fan closer to her face.
"Why do you think we all hate coming back?" Camden groaned.
"Fine. Never mind, I'll just figure it out. Look have you said happy birthday to the twins?" it was their birthday today and Calyspo was checking in with all her siblings, despite them never doing the same to her.
"Cade's in China."
"Japan," Calypso corrected, sitting up.
"And Caspian told me he's back in England."
He didn't mention that to her. "Oh."
"Didn't like foreign air. So he's back."
"Right, but –" she heard a knock at her door.
"You sound busy. Bye Callo." he hung up.
She didn't get to respond, the knocking grew louder, "Come in. Fuck."
Felix calmly pushed open the door, now wearing a white vest in the thick heat, he smiled when he walked in, breath hitching when she was only wearing one of his shirts and a thong. Her hair was slicked back into two space buns. Fuck, she was beautiful.
"Lix, were you trying to break down the door?" she joked, mustering up a beaming smile when she ushered him into her neat dorm room.
Everything was tucked away, only her revision notes for the end-of-year exams were out on her desk and a few hair products were sitting at the foot of her bed. Posters of various film stars clung to the walls: Pam Grier, Pamala Anderson and Lucy Liu, as well as singers like Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae and Lily Allen. A few plants were over in the corner with drying roots that had to be watered. There was a smell of fresh fruits and cigarettes in the air but overall the dorm was immaculate.
Just like Calypso.
Oliver would love it in here, Felix concluded and fought the urge to lash out at the idea.
"You didn't answer your phone," Felix mumbled, bringing her in for a hug and she happily wrapped her arms around him.
Sweat clung to them but they needed each other.
"Sorry, I was chatting to Cam," she spoke into his sculptured chest, "It's the twin's birthday and no one seems to care."
"You do, you always care," it was one of the things I love about you. His hands absentmindedly trailed down her neck, before she reluctantly pulled away.
"I guess. What's wrong? It's fucking hot and you've left your dorm."
"Needed to get out," he weakly answered as she guided him to sit on her bed.
He shuffled backwards until his back hit the wall, he pulled her bare legs over his lap, unintentionally putting her at an angle where he could see between her legs.
"Somethings bothering you, spill," she patted his face as she leaned backwards on her elbows, "is it Oliver?"
"How can you tell?" he sighed at the thought of the Oliver Quick. He didn't want to think about him whilst he was with Calypso, not with her looking like how she did.
"Everyone's talking about him. And my guess is that you've finally had enough," Calypso said, internally wishing he had.
"What do you think of him?" he asked, picking up the fan to blow in his face.
"Frankly, I don't think of him."
Felix pouted, "Cali."
"Not being mean. It's the truth, he's unremarkable and stares entirely too much," Calypso exhaled when Felix faced the fan towards her.
She knew he was a bootlicker like Michael Gavey stated, and he was odd, but she wouldn't judge him for clearly being from a poor family, he was just... suffocating.
His brows pinched together, "At you?"
"And others. All the girls are creeped out by him."
"I thought you liked to be looked at?" he paused, turning off the fan to examine her, "and which girls, MJ?" He, of course, knew Annabel wasn't a fan of Oliver, Farleigh despised him and the rest weren't ambiguous about their views. "And Annabel and India right? The two you've been shagging on the side."
She bit back a smirk, "Oliver told you then. Good."
Felix was doing his best to not flip out, his body stiffened when he was told about the ordeal. It was jealousy. He was jealous and he was prepared to embrace it as long as it was worth it.
"Why?"
"Do you care?" Calypso rebutted.
"If you swing that way?"
She gently shook her head, "I don't swing, I glide. But it was just a bit of fun."
"And you wanted me to shag them too?"
"I've heard you stopped anyway."
Felix shrugged off any of their advances for months. He was glad too. Sleeping with other people... sure it was an option, a pointless one. With every thrust, every moan, he saw her, panting underneath him drawing him closer to his release, with her name on the tip of his tongue as he moaned. And just like that, the wave of reality would come splashing over him and when he opened his eyes she wasn't there, it was someone else, he was always disappointed and the girls were too embarrassed to say something and so they didn't, silently envious of Calypso Danforth: the girl who selfishly stole Felix Catton's heart.
"I have," he found his voice, staring into her eyes it was impossible not to say anything. "You should too."
"Is that a demand Sir Felix?" he grunted at her tone of voice.
"And if it was?"
"I would listen," she pulled up her leg, tracing her foot over his thigh, to his crotch, emitting a groan from him.
Felix could barely suppress the bliss he felt, in that second.
"Then stop," he was pleading, pleading for a release, but it wasn't gonna be that easy.
She was satisfied with his answer, but moved her foot away, "Done."
Felix tossed back his head in frustration, he was so close. So fucking close.
At that moment he wasn't gentle, he couldn't be, her gasps filled his ears when she was pulled onto his lap, straddling his thighs, gripping the straps of his vest.
"Fuck..." he tugged her closer, drunk from the lust swimming in her eyes and more importantly her scent. "Are you wearing a different perfume?"
She licked her lips, "Dropped the mango scrub. Replace it with apple and change from Chanel to Beyoncé's range," she leaned in, their chests were practically kissing each other. "Do you like it?"
"I fucking love it."
Their eyes danced between their lips and everywhere else. There were no obstacles, no flings, just their clothes and the heat trapping them to her dormitory, where the sunlight shone brightly and passion soared.
But Calypso still decided to pull back, "So are you gonna tell me what Oliver said to hurt your feelings?"
He grumbled, "Let's not talk about him."
She raised a brow, "You were obsessed with him yesterday."
"I wasn't obsessed. He clings to me. Like my fucking shadow and then proceeds to treat me like a child. Says rich people don't clean up after themselves," he decided to leave out the statements he made about her.
"We don't," she deadpanned, knowing the state of Felix's room.
Felix's grip tightened on her waist, "You do."
"And? We're not all the same. But if you feel that way about him. Stay away."
"Is that a demand, Lady Calypso?"
She chuckled, heart swelling at the sentiment, "Do you want it to be?
"Yes."
"Then it is."
"Stay away from him Cali, too," he whispered.
She smiled, "Done."
___
"It's like comparing the Gruffalo to Cleopatra, Farleigh," Felix commented, making his cousin cackle as they occupied the King's Arms.
"What is?" Calypso asked, joining him with Monika who sat next to Farleigh.
India was getting off with Harry in the corner, or was it Jake? No one paid attention, Annebel's whereabouts were unknown, Alicia was asleep and they were just grateful that Oliver was absent.
"Felix was telling me about how you're staying at Saltburn for the summer. It'll be good to have someone else around to torment," Farleigh informed, covering for his cousin who snaked an arm Calyspo who was on the adjoining chair, wearing her glasses along with a suggestive outfit.
"Is that your way of saying you'd miss me if I didn't come?" Cali fluttered her lashes.
Farleigh turned up his nose, "No."
"You fucking liar, yes it is," Felix laughed, pointing in his face.
"You have a tell, Farleigh," Monika stated, leaning on her elbow, eyeing him.
Farleigh cocked his head to the side, "And what is it?"
"You don't have that normal level of American cuntiness clinging to it," Calypso answered, making them all laugh.
"Fuck you but also thank you," Farleigh winked, then sipped on his pint.
"What are you doing after exams Nika?"
"Being grateful that I didn't off myself before then and then going away to Gran Canaria. Mum wants to take me," Monika informed, combing a hand through her silky locks.
"Lucky you," Farleigh mused, catching the stiffening of Calypso's shoulders.
Felix rubbed at her neck, fingers attempting to ease the tension.
"Yes, lucky me."
"We need pictures," Calypso proposed, nodding to Monika.
"Yes pictures, dad sent me a scrapbook as if I don't have storage on my Ericcson," Monika ushered them all to lean across the table, even India and her fling who were far too incoherent to object, "But cram in."
"Say tits and teeth," Calypso said.
"Tits and teeth," they tipsily repeated.
"Class," Monika grinned at the picture on her phone she would have to print off as everyone returned to their places. "Now I say shots are on Felix."
"I agree," Calypso nodded, playfully jabbing the guy, who shrugged.
"Second that," Farleigh turned to her, "but River go and help him, or he'll drop everything."
The pair didn't hesitate to get up, leaving the others to gossip.
Farleigh tutted, "Sluts, the pair of them."
Monika nudged his shoulder, "Best way to live."
Over by the bar, Felix ordered whilst Calypso leaned against the damp counter.
"You've actually dropped your revolving door of girls," She said, surprised.
"I could say the same to you," she blinked at him rather slowly, as he took the tray of shots from the bartender. "What?"
"Just shocked, that's all," she knew Felix tended to be all too malleable if someone spoke the right combination of words.
He smirked, "You know why I did."
"Do I?"
"Prefer your company. I always do," He lowered his tone, stepping closer.
"And my face I bet, still imaging me when you were with them?"
"I was because you're so fucking' irresistible," his words almost had her knees buckling, but luckily he had a grip on her waist.
"And I have the entire summer in your grasp," she whispered.
He was elated that she couldn't slip through his fingers this time.
She lifted a shot, "Too the fucking summer."
He did the same, keeping intense eye contact.
"To the fucking summer," the glasses clinked as they threw back the shots, missing the lonely look on Oliver's face as he retreated out of the pub.
Monika called out, "Don't drink them all!"
Farleigh yelled, "Fucking greedy!"

those are my face claims for the danforth brothers. imagine them how you like, provided that they are dark-skinned. i picked them because they're fine dark dark-skinned black brits who i adore in their projects. being dark-skinned in london, let alone england is tough especially if you go to a majority caucasian school. the danforth mens' presence weighs heavily on my girl cali's heart but she tries to not let it show, using her charm to disguise her insecurities. a fact that oliver pointed out but coming from him a "stranger" felix wouldn't want to hear it.
during the canon argument between felix and oliver, i admittedly thought it was an overaction, but the heat and the fact oliver hadn't left felix's side for months definitely contributed to that, but i added more tension to the mix by making oliver diss cali, the very girl felix puts on a pedestal.
now it's cemented that cali is off to saltburn soon, what events will transpire?

WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF MATURE CONTENT AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE
"CALI and I have always been friends. Her mum knew mine through modelling, then our dads realized they had a passion for shooting pheasants and watering plants." Felix relayed everything to his new friend Oliver. After the night at the Kings Arms, they had gotten close, extremely close. Oliver practically clung to his shadow. "People think she's this outgoing person, she is, but she's very kind, sometimes too much but she doesn't let it show."
"Is she scared of letting people in?" Oliver awkwardly shifted in his chair, surveying Felix's excitement whenever he talked about Calypso.
Felix shrugged, "Isn't everyone?"
"Not you," Felix chuckled at his retort. "But are you really friends? You act very close, India and Annabel shoot daggers at her whenever she walks into a room."
"They're possessive. But I don't really date."
"Wouldn't have guessed that. But you and Cali —" Felix's briefly hardening face made Oliver realize how true Farleigh's statement about her was. "Calypso," he corrected, "do you like her?"
"How could you not, look at her."
His tone was so enthusiastic, it was almost like she was in the room.
"I would but you'd have my eyes if I did for too long," Oliver joked, putting a warm smile on Felix's face.
After taking a long drag Felix replied, "She's not mine."
"But you want her to be?" Oliver subtly leaned in.
"Do I want to fuck her?" Felix laughed.
"Do you want to love her?" Oliver gingerly asked.
Felix already started, from when he noticed the scent of the shower gel she used to when she changed it to mango, he could've sworn that was his favoured flavour. The times her hair curls grew tighter with water and dripped with oil that her scalp absorbed. The giggle she let out at the show she was watching, Sex and the City, had a special place in her heart which Felix was forced to watch. All the instances she pushed up her glasses when they slid down her nose, pulled up her jeans that hung around her curves and flipped through pages of books she ranted to him about drew him closer, like Icarcus to the sea that caught him in the end.
Felix loved Calypso, possessively so.
___
Calypso danced like she and the music were one, the beat didn't move her, she controlled it, pulling at the drums, swaying to the symphonies and lip-syncing to the lyrics, putting on a show for all to see.
The strobe lights jumped around the room as she nodded her head, gossiping in the corner with Farleigh as he stared ahead, narrowing his eyes at how Felix catered to Oliver, shielding him from the cold eyes of their upperclassmen.
It was pathetic to him, seeing someone leach off his family.
"Come on Farls, dance with me," Calypso pulled him from the side, careful that his party hats didn't drop and twirled around him.
"Nice to see you in your fuck me pumps."
"They feel great," she teased, making him genuinely laugh as they pranced around, "It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter."
Farleigh dropped his dismay as he danced with the girl, "it's never over," they belted out the nineties hit.
"She's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever!" Calypso's eyes scanned the room, landing on Felix when she finished the lyric.
He had been staring the whole time, beaming at her until his attention was stolen again. Oliver whispered in his ear and suddenly his eyes were on him and so she decided to stroll over, leaving Farleigh to the bodies who surrounded him.
Her braided hair was decorated with golden Jewelry, the first thing that Oliver caught when she appeared in front of them.
"What are you two nonses yapping about?"
"You," Felix shamelessly admitted, wearing a police hat.
He put zero thought into his costume, unlike Calypso, who was dressed like a cowgirl, donning boots that touched her knees, thrilly brown shorts that left little to the imagination, just like her shirt that exposed her midriff and chest. Her hat and whip were lost the moment she started drinking, not that she minded.
Felix's heated gaze drifted to her necklace that she sported every single day.
She squatted in front of them, leaning against Felix's stretched legs, fueling his lust, making him pluck off his hat and place it on his lap.
Calypso instantly smirked.
"You did something to your hair," Oliver snapped out of the trance and pointed out.
"Well, at least someone noticed," Calypso jabbed, playfully glaring up at Felix who pouted.
"I told you that this morning Cali," he said, sitting up slightly.
"But not this hour. Anyway, I'll soon be off to find MJ. Let's hope she isn't getting molested by your freaky friends."
Felix scrunched up his face, "She doesn't swing that way."
"She does and if she didn't it wouldn't stop them," she pointed out, expanding her hand on his leg, drawing a sigh from him.
"You told me she was shagging Colton," he said breathily.
"No, it was Cade, apparently they met last month when the twins dropped by. But Caspian the little git fell in love."
Oliver interrupted them, "Do we go to school with them?"
Their moments made his palms sweat, he often didn't know where to look, so he shared his focus between them.
Calypso snorted, "Fuck no. I mean that in the most loving way. They're my brothers. All complete dopes."
"Three brothers?" Oliver questioned, intrigued.
"Six," the friends corrected, stunning the boy. Calypso further added, "All beginning with C, just like me. Do you have any siblings?"
Oliver quickly replied, "No."
"Lucky you. Cherish that gift. Promise me," Calypso jutted her bottom lip.
Felix slyly smirked, shooting a glance at meek Oliver.
Calypso knew her impact on people, especially men, it was overwhelming, sickly to unexpected victims but alluring and interesting to the right ones.
"I promise." Oliver nodded quickly, as her gaze returned to Felix.
"Annabel clearly wants you," she stated, drawing him to clench his jaw. "She's in need of a quick shag."
Oliver, who was shocked at how the pair were acting as if they didn't need the other, was quick to pawn him off to her competitors. Or he came to learn she wasn't in the running. She had already won.
Felix sarcastically smiled and gently pushed her off, letting her take her place on the sofa next to Oliver.
The two now watched him save Annabel from Jake on the opposite couch, smacking her arse on the way out.
"Well, what the fuck, mate? I've been chirsping her for about an hour. I wanted at least a handjob," Jake exclaimed, groaning into his hands.
Harry scoffed, "I know. We all want a fucking handjob, mate. Get yourself a title and a massive fuck off castle."
Oliver didn't expect to see a smirk on Calypso's face, that met her sanguine eyes.
"Are you – you're not mad?"
He didn't understand and grew more uneasy when she faced him, crossing her legs, causing his stare to drop to them.
"Because I know he fucks them to the thought of me," she revealed, finding pleasure in the whole ordeal.
"And that's something you like?" he leaned closer, breathing in her mango scent, momentarily closing his big blue eyes, making her chuckle.
Calypso innocently told him, "Well... I do the same thing."
She laughed at his comically large gaze and quite frankly Oliver didn't know what to do.
"With them?" he squeaked.
"Why not? The pool for good shags around here is like a pond," Calypso gestured to their fellow students who she wasn't attracted to in the slightest. She then smacked a kiss to his cheek, staining the flushed skin as she rose from the couch, "Good night Oliver and make sure to tell Felix that for loyalty points, I know you need them."
She didn't spare him a glance when she strutted away, immediately being welcomed into Farleigh's circle who were dancing to Madonna's Vogue as Monika screamed her name.
"Cal!"
"Coming MJ!"

WARNINGS: MATURE CONTENT, REFERENCE TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ED'S.
ARRIVING at Saltburn took a couple of hours, the sunset and the nighttime breeze blasted through Northamptonshire. Calypso hadn't slept, she spent her time texting her family, informing them of her whereabouts. Car games were played until Farleigh fell asleep. Felix and Calypso then sat in comfortable silence, she played with his ring-clad fingers until they rocked up to the vast estate.
Farleigh abruptly sat up like he knew they'd arrived and quickly exited the car, with the other two in tow, not thinking about their suitcases and belongings just their comfortable beds. The colossal doors swung open before either of them could knock revealing a beady-eyed man who lived and breathed the Saltburn.
"Good evening Mr Catton, Mr Start and Miss Danforth," Duncan's wry smile didn't dare reach his empty eyes. "Welcome home and welcome back."
"Thanks, Duncan," Felix said tiredly, greeting the butler with a nod as the trio dragged themselves through the archaic building filled with more artefacts than the country's museums.
Great paintings hung on even greater walls, showcasing the generations that stepped foot on the land. The same people who would've rather seen Calyspo and Farleigh slaving away than being treated like their equals.
"Night," Farleigh muttered as he carried his feet towards his room, leaving Calypso and Felix to yawn and stroll.
Their rooms were on opposite sides of the house, separated by yards of wooden planks and a spiralling staircase. She preferred that distance to how she felt wondering the lonely halls of her Upton estate. She was close to someone here, many someones and that was enough. Saltburn was a place where she didn't belong, but Felix pulled her in and made her feel like she was protected from the world he was born into.
"You have to share a bathroom with him?" she tiredly asked, irked that Oliver was only next door to Felix.
He hummed, "The other one is on the other side of the house. It's the least I can do."
"So I can't walk around naked when I'm coming to see you?" she quietly teased.
He snickered, "Of course fucking not. Well, not when he's there."
He pressed a kiss to her forehead, before letting her go.
"Night night Lix."
"Sweet dreams."
___
It only took seconds before Calyspo swanned into breakfast for her to be overwhelmed by the presence of Lady Elspeth Catton.
"Oh, how beautiful you look. And these braids," she gushed, wide eyes analysing every part of Calyspo's face, "I once had them when I went to Jamaica, your mother was there, didn't I darling?" she turned to her husband who nodded along.
"You did. Absolutely splendid," Sir James grinned.
"They weren't for me, too tight."
"Too white," Farliegh mumbled as he read through his newspaper.
"I think they're nice," Venetia hugged the girl, "I bet the blokes at Oxford jumped at the chance to talk to you."
"They did, didn't they Felix?" Farleigh jabbed, turning the page.
Felix hummed, barely shooting a glance his cousin's way, deciding to focus on his eggs and stuffing his face until his mother insisted he slow down or he would choke.
"I have our bird-watching kit ready Calypso, and some snacks," Sir James said, very excited.
Whenever she dropped by they spent their time fascinated by the birds that soared in the skies. It was a shared interest no one really understood.
"I'll be right with you. I need to freshen up after breakfast," she informed, making him clap.
"No doves in sight," he added.
She frowned, "Hopefully we'll find them."
Sir James vigorously nodded before returning to his food.
Felix watched the interaction with a crooked smile, adoring how excitable she was about something mundane as birds, he knew her all too well which is why he gifted her the necklace she hadn't taken off.
"Such nerds," Farleigh remarked to an amused Venetia then received disapproving looks.
Calypso rolled her eyes, "Sounds like envy."
"Go find your birds, come find me when you want some fun."
"I'll go to Felix for that."
"And I'll be happy to help," Felix smirked making her snort.
As Calypso told Duncan that she wanted scrambled eggs, an eccentric woman walked into the room, with ulterior style and crimson-coloured hair.
Elspeth gasped, "Oh, Pamela this is Calypso, you know Desdemona's daughter?"
Pamela, who appeared more dazed than sober turned to the girl, "Oh yes, I remember her." she commented, sitting down next to a now irritant Farleigh, "Beautiful eyes."
"Beautiful everything," Elspeth countered, before introducing her to Calypso. "Darling this is my friend Pamela, who's been staying with us while she gets back on her feet."
"Hi," Calypso greeted.
"Hi."
Calypso thanked Duncan who provided her scrambled eggs and then rose from the table to get some French toast, sausages and strips of bacon.
Venetia had quite a small plate, she nibbled on things here and there but her mother was chatting away with her friend, her cousin had his eyes on his paper, her father rambled about various birds he couldn't wait to spot and her brother stared at the girl he adored.
Calypso noted Felix removed his piercing, a credit to his mother's phobia of... anything ugly.
He sent her a smile and she sent one back.
The morning was awfully eventful.
___
Sir James was unfortunately right. Calypso saw for herself, that there were no doves in sight, they spent an hour looking and couldn't find one. House sparrows and blackbirds came and went but that was it.
So they quickly returned to the library where Duncan reported the rest of the family apart from Venetia resided as she was spotted lounging around attempting to gain their new guest's attention.
Felix quickly joined them after showing an early Oliver around. He suggested to his father to watch a comedy called 'Superbad'. It was the new rage and everyone loved it. They quickly set it up and laughter soon followed, background noise to his mother and Pamela's conversation about about Oliver. Farleigh smoked as he opened his laptop and Calypso occupied her time with her nails, painting a red coat attracting Felix's attention.
"Need any help?" he quietly asked, fortunately, Sir James was thoroughly amused by the film to care.
"I don't want to distract you," Calypso murmured.
Farleigh clicked his tongue, "That's a first."
She hit his leg, "Shut up."
"It's not a bother," Felix ignored his cousin and took the nail varnish as she draped her legs over the back of his chair.
Elspeth caught the interaction with a smirk before turning back to Pamela, "Well, I mean, they probably don't have rehab in Liverpool."
"No, gosh, no. No, I can't imagine they do," Pamela agreed, both uncaring that the door was cracked open.
"No, see, everybody just goes to ruin, I suppose."
Pamela twirled her cigarette between her fingers, "Where is Liverpool?"
"I think it's on the sea, isn't it?" Elspeth glanced around to ask her husband, "Darling, where's Liverpool?"
Sir James didn't tear his gaze away from the television, "Er, north."
"North," Pamela repeated slightly perplexed.
Calypso stared at her painted feet, "I thought he was from Birmingham."
"You know he isn't," Fareligh laughed, whilst Felix focused on making sure he didn't mess up.
She innocently shrugged, "Slipped my mind."
"It's called Prescot," Farleigh informed his aunt.
Elspeth gasped, "Oh, it'll be some awful slum."
"Mmm. A sort of hellish squat," Pamela commented, just as Felix finished his job, smiling at the girl who pressed a kiss to his cheeks in praise.
His mood only faltered when his mother continued dragging his friend through the mud, forcing him to turn his focus to the television.
"And both his parents were dealing. God and his mother's a drunk. I mean, babies can be really affected. Traumatised."
Pamela shook her head, "Oh, they come out drunk."
"Is that right, that he had to put his fingers down his mother's throat to make her sick?"
Felix exacerbated, not turning around, "Farleigh, that's private stuff."
Farleigh took a drag of his cigarette, "Well, you told us."
Felix argued, "In confidence."
"Bad Farleigh," Calypso nudged his leg, causing him to flip her off.
"It's awful, darling. Can you imagine doing that to me?" Elspeth voiced, concerned.
Pamela's brows pinched together, "I think that's actually rather normal when you're poor. I think, when you're poor, that sort of thing does happen a little bit more."
Elpsleth proposed, "We should give him the most wonderful time."
"Good luck, he doesn't smile much," Farleigh exclaimed, offering the cigarette to his friend who quickly took it as she fanned her feet.
Elspeth turned to her son, "Farleigh seems to think he's ghastly. Why are you friends with him, darling?"
Pamela listed, "Dirt poor, not attractive and his parents are drug addicts I can't actually..."
A head belonging to the boy in question poked through the door, preventing them from continuing.
"And here he is now! We were just talking about you," Farleigh stated, as they all stared at him, each wondering if the information was accurate or not.
"Don't be silly," Elspeth quickly disagreed, rising to her feet to approach Oliver. "Farleigh, you just make up the most awful things. Of course, we weren't. Hello, Oliver, darling," she took his hands in hers as she marvelled, "Oh, what beautiful eyes. Oh, how wonderful!"
Felix laughed, "Yeah, I told you he wasn't a minger."
"Oh, but, darling, you're kind about everyone."
"He really is," Calypso muttered, earning a pout from Felix.
"Calypso's right, you're kind about everyone," she glanced at her son, "you can't be trusted," Elspeth said looking directly at Oliver as she tugged his hands, "Oliver, I have a complete and utter horror of ugliness. Ever since I was very young. I don't know why."
"Maybe because you're a terrible person?" Felix exclaimed, amusing himself and his cousin.
His mother frowned, "Don't be mean."
Felix chuckled, watching her go over to lounge on the sofa.
"Has Venetia seen you yet? Oh, my God, she'll die," Elspeth continued, chuckling as she did. "She's been draping herself all around the house all day hoping you'll come across her."
"As it were," Farleigh added.
"Do stop. The poor boy's only just arrived," Sir James said disapprovingly as he greeted the boy, shaking his hand, "Oliver, how good to finally meet you. Trip all right?"
Oliver gulped, "Yes, thank you, sir."
Calypso moved from Farleigh and chose to sit between Felix's stretched legs, he welcomed her tugging her towards his chest as the pair watched Oliver who stared back with a twinge of irritation.
"Oh, God, don't with the 'Sirs'. No, no, no, we can't stand anything like that here. Go on, come and sit by me," Elspeth encouraged, making the redhead shift to the side as he sat down, "This is my dear friend, Pamela, who's been staying with us."
Pamela lazily lifted her and for him to shake, "Hey."
"Pamela, darling, will you go and find Annie and ask about tea?"
Startled by the question she just about responded, "Yeah. Yeah. Who, which... Which one's that?"
"You'll find her, darling. Annie," Elspeth insisted.
Calypso surveyed the interaction feeling bad for the woman who was obviously replaced by the new charity case of the summer. It was clear by her unsure tone she didn't know how to take it, knowing their attention was set trained on her but not anymore. She wasn't given a choice but to search for Annie, about when dinner would be ready and only left when Sir James repeated what his wife said.
Pamela wasn't out of the room for a second before the gossiping started, "Poor Dear Pamela. She's been staying with us while she gets back on her feet. She's had an awful time this year. Hideous," Elspeth's eyes widened in size as she touched Oliver. "But, oh, Oliver, so have you. God, I was so sorry to hear about your father. How utterly, utterly tragic. I've lost so many friends to addiction. So, so many dear, dear friends. It's the root of Poor Pamela's horrors too, I'm afraid."
Farleigh grumbled out, "And the only interesting thing about her."
Oliver took in all their comments, eyes darting between the Lady of the house and Calypso who was giggling at Felix's whispers. They looked so cute, and tight, but they weren't together.
"Farleigh! No, she is rather dull, actually. But she's so beautiful. You have to admit, she's very beautiful," Elspleth insisted, "But it's only ever really been a curse." Calypso winced at the fact. "I mean, the men. Oliver, you wouldn't believe it. The latest one is some ghastly Russian billionaire. Malignantly ugly, of course. And she's been holed up here for months hiding from him." She looked up to see her daughter saunter into the room. "Anyway, let's not talk about that. Darling, tell me about your mother. How is she bearing up? Still drinking?"
"Stop!" Felix pleaded as his sister lit a cigarette, drawing Oliver's gaze to the bright light.
Elspeth waved her son off, "Ignore him."
Felix emphasised, "It's rude."
"Nothing shocks me, Oliver. Absolutely nothing. Tell me everything."
___
"Is that honey?" Felix's voice made Calyspo jump in shock.
She palmed her chest, turning up to see him wearing a nice tux for dinner.
"Christ Lix, you scared me."
"Sorry," he bashfully chuckled, then licked his lips at the sight of her. "You look divine."
The faint smell of her new scrub was in the air, honey, he was right, she changed it again and he loved it more than the last one.
"So do you," she agreed, standing up from her bed as she stared at him. "Here to escort me to tea?"
He held out her arm, "My lady."
She took it with ease, "My lord."
Journeying through the house, he continuously peeked at her, the lacy dress she wore had a train that was a few inches long. Her back was exposed, only slightly concealed by small threads that weaved to ensure her arse wasn't on show. Her sleeves were long and her hair was tied into a bun, insinuating her cheekbones.
"You might as well take a fucking picture, Felix."
"Trust me I will," he muttered, realising she braless and the thinnest of materials alluded to that. "Fucking hell."
"What?" she blinked innocently as they approached dinner.
"Fucking tease."
Calypso laughed as was escorted into the room, where she sat between Felix and Venetia.
Elspeth was the first to compliment her gown before Pamela informed Oliver – who wore a tuxedo provided by Felix — all about her boyfriend.
"We met in rehab, so... He was just so lovely at first, and then all of his business partners started, sort of, falling out of windows," she said softly, "You know."
"Right. Lucky escape," Oliver assessed, putting a smile on Felix's face as he ate.
"Mmm. I suppose so. But he spoke Russian all the time and it just sounded so romantic. And I don't know the Russian word for 'whore'," Pamela explained, missing Farleigh's smirk. "So I, sort of, thought it sounded like lovely poetry."
"Yeah."
Calypso's perplexed expression made a smile break out on Farleigh's face.
"Daddy always said I'd end up at the bottom of the Thames," Pamela went on.
"So far so good," Oliver remarked, gaining a smug smile from Venetia.
"I don't know what I'd do without Elspeth. She really saved me," Pamela added.
"Don't bang on about it, Pamela, darling. You know we're delighted to have you for however long it is you mean to stay," Elspeth falsely insisted as she picked up her drink.
"Forever?" Farleigh murmured, facing his uncle.
"Oh, no," Pamela spoke, "I think I might have, erm, found somewhere."
The Catton's were delighted to hear that.
"Oh, well done, darling. Oh, good," Elspeth smiled.
"Yeah, my cousin... My cousin has a flat."
"Oh, that'll suit you very well, a nice little flat."
"It's more of a... More of a bedsit really," Pamela continued, becoming less confident as she went on.
Elspeth grinned, "I loved living in a bedsit in my 20s. It's so freeing to live all in one room. And much less cleaning to do."
"Cheaper too," Calypso decided to add, knowing where this was going.
Felix playfully tutted at her.
Elspeth nodded in her direction, "Oh yes it is, but it'll be terrible when you're gone. How will I cope?"
"Well, I..." Pamela stammered, "I could actually stay for a little bit longer..." She trailed off hoping for someone to agree.
Elspeth softly gasped, "Oh, no, darling, no. You must be desperate to be rid of us and find your own place. I quite understand."
Pamela went back to eating, as did the rest of them, engaging in small talk.
It was only when Elspeth turned to Calypso did the girl placed down her fork, "Now Calyspo you must tell me everything about the boys in your college, your mother and I always had to fight them off when we modelled," Sir James agreed with her words. "But that was before your father so selfishly trapped her. So tell me, how were they?"
Oliver caught the dismay written over Felix's face as he abandoned his food and slid his hand under the table and judging from Calypso's flustered expression when she replied, it was clear what was going on.
___
"That wasn't an accident Felix, you can't accidentally finger someone – and don't bring up your cousin. And for Christ's sake, stop telling people about that," Calypso ranted, shaking her head as she dragged him back to her room, shortly after dinner finished.
He rolled his shoulders back, "Would you rather me listen to you go on about your university shags? I couldn't stand to hear what happened."
"So you thought doing that whilst everyone was eating was better?" she expressed as they stood around.
"You loved it," Felix recalled how she breathily spoke at the table, only alerting the young adults around.
"I had to cough loudly when I came, your mum must've thought I caught the plague," she groaned into her hands before he pulled them away.
"She didn't think anything of it," Felix reassured, "She wouldn't. She thinks you're perfect."
She wasn't convinced, "Sure."
Felix stared her down and decided to cup her face, forcing her to watch as he sucked his fingers dry, groaning at the taste lingering on his flesh until he was satisfied.
"You taste irresistible."
She pulled away from him, feeling her legs tremble as she dropped to her bed, slowly tugged down her thong and dropped it to the floor.
Felix's eyes darkened as he lowered himself onto the ground in front of her, pushing up her dress, and exposing her dripping arousal as she whimpered at his touch.
"You sure you want this? Once we start, you'll only slow me down for so long before I beg for more."
"Go ahead," Calypso breathed out, giving her the green light as he began kissing her thighs. "Fuck."
Her moans and his grunts as she gripped his hair echoed through her room. They were lost in the lust and sensual atmosphere, completely unaware that they were being listened to on the other side of her door.

no guys, they didn't have sex but they did more than expected. i mean really felix, jealousy makes you do that in front of your parents? i don't know why but i feel like that was in character for him, considering all the tales and references to the family's past. the two are getting closer, crossing those sexual boundaries and now oliver knows... yuck.
https://pin.it/4kZZbXCeF (how imagine cali's dress!) https://pin.it/6vmO0LUMU (how i imagine her hair)
the interactions with elspeth will feel borderline... microaggression-ish, very subtle to the point it'll fly over cali's head. it's a sad reality, considering she must've experienced it when she went to several private schools in her youth. i still experience shit like that to this day. throughout the film, there were many racial undertones, by the way, i know many people wouldn't notice, but it was brushed under the carpet as expected.

WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF DEATH AND GRIEF
"I'M sorry what?" Calypso believed she misheard as she stood in the middle of Felix's surprisingly tidy room.
Sitting on the edge of his bed he repeated, "I thought it would be nice. I haven't told him yet, but it was just a suggestion."
"Buy Oliver a bouquet or something not have him come to Saltburn," she rushed out, suppressing the urge to throw up her arms.
Felix bit the side of his cheek, "It's a suggestion, Cali."
"I mean — you told me yesterday to stay away from him. You wanted to stay away from him," she pointed out.
"His dad just died, it's terrible news, terrible," Felix felt guilty for how quickly he tried to cast Oliver aside especially before he received such tragic news.
Calypso vigorously, "It is, very terrible," very convenient.
"And his mum is an addict."
"You've told me," she sighed, wincing at the thought.
Felix rose from his bed, "He can't go home. I thought I would tell him after the ball."
He changed his mind so quickly, so fucking quickly. Calypso's head echoed with thoughts. She was confused, and extremely concerned. She was drowning in worry. How bad can Oliver be?
"You find the truth about someone in close proximity. But honestly Felix, it's a bit soon. You just met the guy," Calypso tried to reason.
"He needs some support. He has no one, come on, you know what that feels like."
Calypso's face fell with haste drawing a look of regret from Felix.
He gulped, "Cali..."
He blinked and a forced smile breached her face, "It's fine, right as rain. Invite whoever you want. I'm off to my room, need to order the new Rihanna album. 'Good Girl Gone Bad'. Sounds right up my alley I can't wait."
Felix reached out, "I thought you wanted to..."
"See you later Felix," she stepped back as he stood up and moved forward.
"Don't leave in a strop," he felt sick by the thought.
"I'm not. It's fine."
"You're not fine. You're frowning, come here," he stepped closer, pained by her expression.
She stubbornly shook her head, "No."
"Cali, we're supposed to watch that Jawbreaker film. It's one of your favourites," he had it all set up on his laptop for her.
He went out to buy the DVD for stress relief before she had to turn in her final draft.
"We can watch it later."
"I never meant that you were lonely or anything," he took her in his arms before she could flee. "You're one of my favourite people. You are my favourite person."
"Are you sure? You are spending an awful lot of time with Oliver," she pouted, looking up at him.
"It's not the same and never will be. Now come on, let's watch Jawbreaker. Sit down and stop stropping."
___
"Icarus flew too close to the sun, after ignoring Daedalus's instructions, his angelic wings melted because of the beeswax before he fell from the sky and plummeted into the sea where he drowned," Calypso answered, sitting opposite Monika in the vast library.
"Correct," the Jain student nodded, shifting through her revision notes.
Farleigh joined them, "God, what is this essay about?"
"Greek tragedies," they said in unison, before Calypso continued from memory, "Suicide is a common theme and love. Narcissus was a mix, he once walked by a pool of water and decided to drink some. He saw his reflection, became entranced by it, and killed himself because he could not have his object of desire."
Farleigh drawled, "Wow, your degree is just filled with love and fun."
"It's realistic," Calypso retorted.
Monika added, "Like drowning. Oooh, Cal you should add Hero and Leanda to your argument."
"But Orpheus and Eurydice were tragically beautiful."
Farleigh blew a raspberry, "Let me guess more horror?"
"Well no, his wife dies and he travels to the underworld and back to save her. It's about how far you'd go for love," Calypso said, finding the beauty in death and tragedy.
Farleigh scoffed, "This isn't real River."
"I wouldn't know any different would I."
"Pause on the troubled childhood, I need a cig," Monika walked out of the library leaving the two alone.
"Speaking of childhood Felix told me about Oliver Twist staying this summer. Fun," Farleigh patted his hands against the table.
Calypso smirked at the disgust painted over his face.
"Don't we know it?"
Farleigh reeled back, "I thought you liked him? He stared at you like a painting."
"He stared too much. He's okay, attractive and smart but it's all too soon. Felix doesn't seem to think so," Calypso replied, bitterly smiling.
"Felix can afford not to think."
They exchanged a knowing look as Monika returned and they went back to more last-minute revision.
___
The term came to an end, and celebrations were at a high. Caps and gowns were worn and quickly discarded before more sophisticated outfits were thrown on. The atmosphere was as lively as ever. Everyone was dressed to the nines just to drink themselves into a pile of their own sick.
Calypso confidently walked through the courtyard, as lustful eyes turned to her, some belonging to past flings and others were her classmates. Her brown silky dress clung to her figure and her hair was entwined with curly extensions that added to the volume and concealed her entire back.
She loved herself and how she looked.
Monika joined her, "Planning to cause a sex riot tonight babe?"
"Could say the same with you."
Monika looked extraordinary, sporting a nice violet dress tied together with a clutch concealing her flask she quickly took out and offered her friend some liquid courage.
"I might fuck Farleigh."
Calypso almost choked on her sip, before she laughed alongside her.
"Good, there he is."
Farleigh approached Oliver, both wearing tuxedos, which one owned, the other rented.
"Hey, Oliver."
Oliver angled his head up, "Hey."
Farleigh chuckled, "Oh, nice tux."
"Thank you.
Farleigh adjusted the collar on his tux, "Wow. It's a rental, right?"
Oliver's mood faltered slightly, "Yeah."
"Yeah. Yeah, the sleeves are too long. Always check the sleeves," Farleigh remained amused, "But still, not bad. I mean, you're almost passing."
"For what?" Oliver called out as the girls neared by.
"I don't know. A real human boy."
"You look like Felix, Oliver." Calypso smiled, as Monika and Farleigh stood afar, checking out each other.
"Thank you," Oliver gulped, eyes dropping from her outfit, "You look beautiful, Cal."
He liked how her hair looked and the dress complimented her skin, adding to its yearly glow.
Farleigh exclaimed, "She always does."
"Sorry for your loss by the way, it's terrible what happened to your dad," Calypso frowned.
"Very terrible," Monika added.
Oliver stiffly nodded, "Thank you."
"Now come with me," Farleigh took her hand as Monika went ahead, but they were stopped by Felix's voice.
He hastily greeted Oliver but his eyes couldn't leave Calypso, he would have to be dragged away for that to happen.
She reassured Fareligh that he would come back, as she turned around.
"Cali!" Felix's throat went dry when he looked down at her, "Fuck..."
"Irresistible?" she squealed when he spun her around.
"Always," he promised, "So beautiful."
"And you're handsome, I do wonder what's under that tux though," she patted his suit tauntingly.
He grinned, "I'll show you later, but you need to keep this dress on."
She feigned shock, "All of it?"
He pondered, before changing his mind, "No, just the necklace."
Their laughter caused Oliver's excitement to fade, an expression only Farleigh caught as he waited for the girl.
They begrudgingly parted, staring at each other as they returned to their friends.
"Oliver looks like a fucking puppet," Calyspo muttered to Farliegh, "and he doesn't even look that sad, just lapping up the attention Felix is giving him. And where are his glasses? Christ I can't get by without them even with contacts."
"Get Lasik, you have the money, more money than he ever will. He's a parasite," Farleigh voiced, taking her arm in his.
"You really hate him don't you?" she glanced up at her tall friend.
"I don't hate anyone. But yes, you didn't have to have him as a tutorial buddy."
"But we'll be living with him for the next couple of months, we'll just have to deal with it. I mean... Diana dealt with Camilla."
"Yeah and how did that turn out princess?"
She groaned, annoyed that her ruined analogy, "Christ, I need a drink."
"Come on, your boyfriend will be a while and here's hoping hayfever will take Oliver out."
She laughed, "I was wrong, you need a fucking drink."

a/n:
off to saltburn in the next chapter!
i wanted to say calypso is starting to see the cracks in oliver. at first, she didn't care to analyse him, but she trusted felix's judgement previously but with how quickly he changed his views towards oliver because of his "grief," stunned her. she feels bad for oliver because his dad is allegedly "dead," but she's suspicious. it could be argued that because of her race, she has to be more conscious of oliver's intentions compared to the rest of them.
look at how farleigh was throughout the film, yes he was terrible but you could say he recognised oliver's game because they're both outsiders. yes because of farleigh's mum constantly messing up with money, he had to rely on his uncle and had no money of his own. plus with him being one of the few black people in the film and the only one in his family he was viewed as an outsider who had to ensure he remained on the inside.

PROLOGUE
❝ AND then there's calypso or cali — a nickname that was forbidden to fall from my lips whenever felix was around. like the goddess of the sea, she was always set to deter someone from their goals. i mean, look at her, she was captivating, most lads had to carry tissues around so no one would see them salivate. their lust would pool beneath her feet but no, she wouldn't slip or drown, because felix was always around to catch her, hold her so her feet could glide through the slobber that she aroused. her head always remained above water, watching like a siren for her prey. it wasn't intentional, that I knew, she didn't mean for people to want her. she wanted to be loved and felix loved and worshipped the ground she walked on, which meant i... i don't really know. but like i said, she deterred people from their goals, delayed them and i couldn't have her doing the same to me. ❞

this film had been living in my head rent free and i had to write this story. i've been rewatching the film and couldn't help but picture my oc in the story, how she would fit in and how she would react to oliver and the entire world that he's creeping into. felix is baby girl so i chose him as the love interest. calypso or cali is an upper class new money girl, so of course she fits into the world, but her race plays a factor as to why she isn't completely ignorant, why she can see things that the others can't, and why she does stick to farleigh and why she catches onto oliver's games.
there'll be mention of some danforth siblings, so i'll add their face claims throughout chapters because we won't see them but you'll just be informed about them.
updates every sunday. please remember that so i don't get spammed with comments about my updating. follow my tik tok guys (post edits about my stories) @saintsiren.wp and Wattpad @-saintsiren

I just found your account (obsessed with your writing 🫶) do you think you’d ever make an epilogue of the rest of the Catton family finding out they passed the best morning? The relationships you created between cali and the cattons show they loved her and viewed her as one of their own.
Absolutely loved the story !! 💙💙
WINGS OF AN ANGEL
warnings: death, grieving and mentions of murder
——
HER wings were matted in the lake she resided in, swaying back and forth as she remained face down, lifeless amongst the lilypads.
The white costume she sported now faded with the water and the rising sunlight. It was pure no more.
Poor little Calypso Danforth, like the goddess of the sea, was always set to deter someone from their goals. But clearly this time she didn’t deter someone from theirs. They succeeded, whomever they were. Look at her, even in death she was captivating. The pool beneath her was not the making of the blokes that would salivate with their lust, but the body of water that filled her burning lungs and stopped her beating heart. And Felix… lovely and kindhearted Felix wasn’t there to stop her from slipping, because now she drowned.
“Farleigh!” Venetia cried out when they finally waded through the lake, discovering their sister in arms. How long she had been dead they had no clue. The weight of her body as they tried to drag it out of the water was heavy, her face lacking colour and her eyes blown wide. Yet an empty smile rested on her face. “No, no, no!”
Sobs wrecked through Farleigh as he lifted her out and shook her body, begging whoever that she could come back.
MJ was still buried in the sheets of his bed, blissfully unaware of what they had uncovered. The horror of the morning light, the terror that filled their chests as they wailed and hoped it wasn’t true.
Calypso was a siren.
