Oh! That's actually a REALLY interesting appearance headcanon for Pandora, because book!Luna IS a darker, dirty blond. As mostly a book-reader and not a movie-watcher, I frequently forget how much the movies affect other people's appearance headcanons. Like, while my Ron does look a lot like Rupert Grint, it's totally coincidental. My Harry and Hermoine look almost nothing like Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson. Fascinating.
I always headcanoned Pandora as having REALLY pretty medium brown hair, but that might just be me being salty about the lack of brunettes in fiction.
ooh yeah. i'm a book & film fan, so my appearances of character are more of the film's (whilst like events/personalities are usually more book aligned for me)
but honestly i can def picture pandora like telling people she's a dirty/dark blonde cause people would just call her brunette all the time 😭😭
#tbf actually some of my character appearances are more fandom based (ie. ron in my head looks like rupert grint just more tall and lanky#whilst harry is desi and hermione is black cause a lot of fanarts i see depict them like that (and i like the diverse rep)

Chapter 10: You Would be Fine
Author’s Note: Hi everyone! Thank you so much for all the love and support for this fic, it means so much to me :) Get prepared because this chapter is a lengthy one (about 4,200 words I think...oops). Also, the gif has nothing to do with the chapter I just thought Ron looked really cute lol. Okay anyways enjoy!!!
You were fine. Really you were.
Every time Hermione or Ginny gave you a concerned look while passing, you could easily plaster on an "I'm-good-everything-is-good-thanks-for-asking" smile onto your face.
In reality though, your heart hurt ever damn day.
About 2 weeks ago, Ron broke your heart. Under the oak tree outside, he told you that whatever happened between you was a mistake. Mistake. So instead of moping around for the rest of your summer vacation, you tried to be happy. During the day time you would laugh and joke with the Weasleys, help make meals, finish your school work, and do chores. But at night is when you finally let yourself feel your heartbreak. Once everyone fell asleep, you would creep down the stairs and sit underneath the oak tree, and cry.
It was therapeutic, kind of. With each passing night, you felt better. Yes, it still hurt seeing Ron's freckled face every morning at breakfast. And it still made your skin and body ache when he accidentally brushed up next to you in the tight kitchen. But you were okay.
You knew that if you let Ron fully see how heartbroken you were, it would change the dynamic between you. You were best friends, and nothing more. No matter how much you loved him, that's all you would ever be. Instead of jeopardizing the friendship you had come to cherish so greatly, you simply suppressed your love for Ron so you could maintain it. And it was working, king of.
The night after your heartbreak at the oak tree, you started treating Ron exactly as you had before you came to the Burrow, before you had let your emotions run wild. He reciprocated this and before long, you were best friends again. You played Quidditch on each other's team, joked around with Fred and George, tried the newest Weasley Wizard Wheezes products (though you stayed away from the love potions), and played wizard's chess together. Although your heart still skipped a beat whenever Ron leaned closer to you, everything was back to normal with your best friend.
Over the past 2 weeks, you had been alternating between sleeping in Ginny's room for sleepovers, the bed in the attic, or the couch in the living room. Ron didn't offer his room to you again, which made you sad but you understood. If you were alone with him late at night when your emotions were high, your cover of "nope-i-don't-love-him-we-are-just-best-friends" was going out the window. So you stuck to your usual 3 beds.
That morning, you had awoken from the attic bed bright and early. Hermione had been getting the girls up at 8am for the past 2 weeks so that you could finish your school work early in the morning and have the rest of the day to relax. Although you hated her every morning for this, you were glad she had such a strict regimen because you had all finished your homework yesterday. Now, for the rest of the summer you were homework free.
By now you were so used to waking up early that it was no longer a surprise for anyone to see you help cook breakfast with Mrs Weasley. Besides Hermione, you two were usually the first awake and in the kitchen right away. This morning was no different as you padded down the creaky wooden steps into the kitchen.
"Good morning Mrs Weasley," you greeted her, tying an apron around your waist. There were four aprons in the Weasley house; a floral one designated for Mrs Weasley, a dark blue one for Mr Weasley when he would attempt to use a muggle grill, a plain white one for whoever decided to help cook, and a yellow one with stars for you. Mrs Weasley even spelled your name, y/n, on the edge in elegant cursive.
"For my newest child," she has said when she showed it to you. She pinched your cheeks, the way she did with all of her kids, and the action almost made you tear up. You threw your arms around her in a tight hug and thanked her profusely.
Mrs Weasley smiled approvingly at you as you started on the breakfast. As the usual morning rhythm took place, you cherished the routine of cracking the eggs, putting them in pans, flipping them, and then doing the same thing again and again.
But soon, Mrs Weasley's voice broke the silence. "Sweetheart, what happened with Ron?" she asked.
Your head snapped up from the frying pan, your eyes meeting Mrs Weasley's. She looked at you with motherly concern, and for some reason you couldn't look at her loving face and lie to her.
"I don't think he feels the same way that I do about him," you stated, turning your attention back to cooking.
Mrs Weasley huffed. "Well, my son has never been the sharpest boy, as you know," she said. You giggled, though you were still sad, and she smiled at you. "Maybe things will change honey," she told you, "love happens unexpectedly."
Before you got the chance to reply, thundering footsteps sounded from the staircase. You whipped your head around to see the twins barreling down the steps, practically tripping over one another in their hurry.
"Where's the fire?" you asked.
Fred ran across the room, picked you up around the waist, and spun you around.
"Percy's home! His work is called off for the week because of his birthday!" He shouted excitedly. You laughed, swatting at him with your spatula until he set you down.
"I didn't know you two were so excited to see your brother," Mrs Weasley noted, fixing her sons with a stern and skeptical stare.
"Oh mother, we're not," George replied.
"We're excited to mess with him for a week straight," Fred added with the largest grin you had ever seen.
As soon as the words left his mouth, more of a promise than anything else, the front door swung open and in entered the most prestigious Weasley of the house. With his rigorous work schedule, you hadn't seen Percy once this entire summer. But now, here he was, standing in the kitchen in a three piece suit with a pocket watch and shiny black shoes at 8 in the morning.
"Hi Percy," you said, trying your best not to laugh at the long tail of his suit coat.
"What the hell are you wearing?" Fred asked, his face shocked as he took in Percy's outfit. George's face was bright red as he held in his laughter.
"This," Percy said, unironically spinning so everyone could see his outfit, "Is traditional Muggle-wear. As I climb higher in the Ministry's success ladder, sometimes I have to encounter Muggles, so I must dress accordingly. This particular suit was a gift from one of my many clients."
He turned to you and you tried to wipe the teasing smile off your face. "Y/n, this is what muggles wear to their jobs, isn't it?" he asked.
You schooled your features into seriousness. "Oh yes," you responded, "definitely."
At that moment, Ron, Harry, Ginny, and Hermione stumbled down the stairs, looking like they had just woken up. Everyone stayed up late last night playing nighttime Quidditch (an especially difficult yet fun game considering the fact that you can't see the bludgers because of how dark it is).
Ron froze when he saw Percy standing in the kitchen, his shoes so shiny they were reflecting the kitchen lights into the eyes of anyone who looked at them.
"Bloody hell, what happened to your clothes?" he asked incredulously. Him and Harry shared a look and then burst out in laughter.
Percy's ears turned pink at the tips as he huffed before sitting down in one of the chairs around the kitchen table. You and Mrs Weasley decorated the center of the table with plate after plate of delicious warm breakfast food. Proud of your hard work, you took off your apron and sat down next to Percy.
Ron sat down next to you as the others joined the table.
"For your information, Ronald, your girlfriend says my clothes are the proper Muggle attire," Percy said, glaring at his little brother.
"She's not my girlfriend," Ron responded, his ears turning pink now too.
"How's Penelope?" you asked Percy before you could let yourself get too caught up in the fact that you really wanted Ron's response to that question to be different.
Percy smiled at the mention of his longtime girlfriend, who had been a Prefect at Hogwarts with him. "Oh she's fantastic," Percy said before launching into a long-winded story about Penelope's latest project she was working on at the ministry. Words such as "top-secret" "highly important" and "imperative job" floated past your ears.
Ron leaned closer to you and mumbled in your ear, "I wish you hadn't asked him that."
"Me too," you whispered back, giggling behind your hand.
As breakfast began, you were proud of all the compliments you received on your cooking. Waking up early to cook with Mrs Weasley was a part of the day you always looked forward too, and the compliments only made you feel better about it.
After everyone finished eating, and cleared their plates, chairs scraped against the wood of the floor as everyone prepared to go about their daily business.
"Wait!" Percy shouting, using his wand to spell everyone back into their chairs. "Nobody leave this table until we discuss my birthday party details."
Theses past few weeks your brain had been so focused on Ron that you had forgotten Percy's huge birthday party that was taking place at the Burrow next week. From the guilty expressions of everyone else around the table, you could tell they had forgotten too.
"I want this party to be perfect," Percy said. "My bosses are coming to this party, as is Penelope, so I will not tolerate any shenanigans." He fixed his eyes on the twins and gave them an icy glare. "I mean it, no funny business."
Fred and George saluted him, shouting "yes mother" before jumping out of their chairs and running to their room. A memory flashed in your head from the beginning of summer. The twins were showing you fireworks in their room, "special fireworks for Percy's party" they had said. There was definitely going to be some shenanigans taking place.
Increasingly interested about what kind of pranks the twins were going to pull on Percy, you excused yourself from the table and followed them upstairs. You were about to knock on their door before it swung open and Fred dragged you inside.
"Can I have a sneak peek?" you asked them giddily as soon as the door closed behind you. Apart from the twins, you were the most excited about their funny products and pranks they always pulled. You knew Percy's party wasn't going to disappoint.
Instead of reciprocating your excitement, the twins traded nervous glances.
"What is it?" you asked them. You felt a strange sense of deja vu to the time when they picked you up to drive you to the Burrow in the beginning of summer. They were hiding something from you then, and they were certainly hiding something from you now.
"So we take it you're not going to tell Ron about your unconditional love for him anytime soon?" George asked, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish expression on his face. Fred was ringing his hands nervously next to him.
"That is correct," you responded flatly.
"Well, you see," Fred began, "When we ordered these special fireworks for Percy's party, we assumed you two would be dating and in love by the time of the party. And the thing is, there's no refunds on the fireworks, so we kind of have to use them." He spoke so fast that the words were tumbling together in your head.
"Okay...what does that mean? What do the fireworks have to do with Ron and I?" you asked, getting increasingly more upset by the moment.
The twins must have sensed your anger because they traded a quick glance before assuring you "Okay, never mind, love, everything is under control," Fred promised.
"Yep, totally under control," George said, steering you out of the room. You didn't even register what they were saying before you were standing in the hallway.
"What aren't you telling me?" you asked, eyes narrowing into a glare at the twins.
They both gulped nervously.
"Don't worry about it, y/n, everything is fine. Percy's party will be full of lots of laughs and fun," Fred promised, before promptly shutting the door in your face. Once again, you got deja vu.
And with that, you left the twins room, feeling even more confused about your relationship with Ron than ever.
...
The next week was frantic, hectic, and insane as you all scrambled to prepare for Percy's big party. Decorations needed to be made, food needed to be cooked, and you totally forgot to get Percy a present. After a day trip to Diagon Alley, you had returned home with a bag of more owl food for Dite and a magical watch for Percy. Despite all of the high energy and excitement in the house, the twins words still weighed on you. The party was quickly approaching and you had yet to "confess your unconditional love" to Ron. What would happen if you didn't? You didn't even want to think about it.
It was the night before Percy's party, and you were in the garden helping Bill string up lights around the outdoor tables. You and Bill had been spending a lot more time together over the past week. Bill had always opted to help you in whatever decoration or cooking you were tasked with for that day. Although you could tell that made Ron grumpy, you tried to ignore it. Your feelings were confusing enough without trying to unpack Ron's jealousy at the moment.
You wobbled on the chair you were standing on as you tied the last string of lights around the nearest tree branch. After you finished, you put your hands on your hips and took a look around the garden. It looked amazing. 10 tables were arranged in a neat circle around the yard, completed with white table clothes and centerpieces with Percy's photo in the middle. You bought a couple packs of muggle Christmas lights to hang from the trees to illuminate the area, which Mr Weasley was very happy about. He spent about 2 hours asking you about the mechanics behind muggle electricity.
There was a long table for the buffet to be served at and a short circular table for Percy's gifts to be placed on. At the corner of the garden the twins had set up a firing booth for the fireworks. To be totally honest, the decoration fit more for a wedding than a birthday party, but Percy wanted things to be perfect, so the family followed his decoration ideas to a tee.
While being distracted by observing your handiwork, you weren't really paying attention to what was happening behind you. This was unfortunate because Harry and Ron were practicing disarming charms right behind you.
"Y/n, look out!" you heard someone yell behind you. Whipping around towards the voice, you saw a red ball of sparks sailing towards you from the end of Harry's wand. How did Harry always manage to accidentally attack you?
You dove from your chair to avoid the sparks, and were fully expecting to land roughy in the grass. Instead, you felt strong arms wrap around you to prevent you from hitting the ground. You looked up to see none other than Bill Weasley as your knight in shining armour.
"Thanks," you said quietly.
Bill didn't let his arms drop from around you.
"Anytime," he replied with a grin. His arms were still wrapped around you when you heard angry footsteps marching towards you.
"Get your hands off her, you prat," you heard Ron's voice say. Bill's arms dropped from your sides as you both turned to face Ron.
"Calm down, Ron," Bill told him.
Ron glared at his older brother. "Stop flirting with her, she's my best friend," he said sternly.
Your heart hurt. You wanted Ron to be jealous because he liked you, not because you were just his best friend.
"He can flirt with me if he wants." The words were out of your mouth before you could even filter it.
Ron's gaze snapped towards you and you almost had to take a step back from their intensity. "Do you want him to?" He asked you, his voice strained.
The answer was easy. No. You knew you didn't want Bill to flirt with you. He had been your first crush and he was beyond attractive, but he wasn't Ron. The only person you wanted was Ron. You said those words not because you wanted Bill, but because you wanted Ron to stop acting possessive if he didn't even love you back. It just hurt too much for him to act like your boyfriend if he was never going to be.
"Ron, I'm sorry," Bill said, mediating the situation. "I know you and y/n have something together, I shouldn't have overstepped. I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
It won't happen again.
That's exactly what Ron told you after the night he had taken the love potion. The night that made you believe that maybe he did have the same feelings for you. But in the end, he regretted the moment that you had loved so much.
It won't happen again.
Tears crowded your vision and you tried your best to blink them away, you were not about to cry in front of him and show him just how much power he had over you and your emotions. But soon there were hot tears slipping down your cheeks and there was nothing you could do to stop it.
Bill and Harry exchanged nervous glances as you and Ron just continued staring at each other. They both took a couple steps away to give you and Ron the space you needed to hash things out. Ron was breathing heavily, obviously still angry from the flirting between you and his brother. But you were angry too, angry that he didn't want you the way you wanted him.
"I don't want you flirting with my brother," he said, his intense gaze never leaving yours.
You rolled your eyes, "It's not your choice if I do."
Ron bristled at your comment, taking another step closer to you. You could practically feel the heat and anger radiating off of him.
"You know, you've really been pissing me off these past couple weeks," he said. "You prance around making breakfast in the mornings, but in reality all you're doing is trying to get with Bill. It's so fucking frustrating! I'm your best friend, we were supposed to be together every day you visited, but instead you found someone better to spend your time with."
God, he was thick. You told him that.
"I'm not trying to get with Bill, you dumb git!" you shouted back. Why couldn't he see that he was the only one you wanted. Bill hadn't even crossed your mind this summer, your heart was too full of Ron as it is.
At this point, you were practically nose to nose with him, your shouting words bringing you closer and closer towards each other.
Ron mimicked you from earlier and rolled his eyes. It was beyond infuriating. You set your jaw and clenched your hands as you tried not to yell more.
"Oh of course you're not. You just spend every waking moment with him and barely hang out with me, but sure you're not trying to get with him," he said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
Now it was your turn to get angry. "Oh really? I'm the one to blame right now?" You shouted at him. The words were hot rolling off your tongue.
"You're the one who treats me so poorly! You cuddle me in your bed, and then run out the next morning. You almost kiss me and then act like it didn't happen! You told me what happened in your room was a mistake," the last sentence flew out of you, the anger just boiling and boiling up towards your breaking point.
Even though you knew it wouldn't do you any good, you kept talking. "Don't you dare try to put blame on me for this summer going to shit, because it's not my fault Ron! It's not my fault you're jealous of Bill, it's not my fault things aren't the same between us, and it's not my fault you don't love me back!"
Both of you froze as the words left your mouth. You wanted Ron to say something, needed him to say something, but he remained silent. You couldn't read his emotions and it was going to drive you crazy.
Ron stared at you, his eyes full to the brim with turbulent emotions that you couldn't read. All he did was shake his head.
"I don't want you with Bill," he finally said.
"You're not my boyfriend! You've made that perfectly clear!" You shouted back, your voice cracking halfway through the sentence.
Ron raked his hands through his messy hair, obvious frustrated. "If I were your boyfriend..." he started. "If I were your boyfriend... I wouldn't...." He glanced up at you and the words stopped forming at his mouth. You had tear streaks on your face and your eyes were still watery. The look of you must have shaken him too much for him to continue speaking.
"But you're fucking not! So stop acting like you are, because it hurts too much," you responded, all the fire gone from your argument. Instead it was replaced with a sad silence, the only sounds were the rustle in the tree branches and your occasional sniffle.
"I never meant to hurt you," he said, taking a step closer with his hand out to you, almost like he was thinking of reaching out to you.
You couldn't do this. You couldn't stay there, letting him reach out to touch you. It was clear he didn't love you back, so you couldn't stay and let him hold you when there wasn't any hope. You backed away from him, shaking your head as tears continued to fall down your cheeks.
"You did. You do," you said, your voice barely above a whisper. If not for Ron's body suddenly becoming stiff, you would have thought he didn't hear you.
"Y/n, please..." he began, but no words followed. You shook your head again before turning and running back inside to the Burrow.
Nobody moved when you entered the dimly lit house. The family was sitting around the crackling fire, chatting with one another. But all talk stopped as soon as you entered.
Hastily wiping the tears from your eyes, you tried to make yourself presentable.
"Sweetheart," Mrs Weasley said with that loving tone of hers only a mother could have, "are you alright?"
You nodded, despite the fact that you knew none of them believed you.
"I'm just a little tired is all, I think I'm going to head up to bed," you said, before climbing the stairs as quickly as possible.
As soon as you entered your makeshift room in the attic, you slammed the door shut behind you. You couldn't even make it to the bed before you crumbled onto the ground, your back pressed against the door. Drawing your knees up to your chest, you buried your head in your arms and let yourself cry.
Sobs racked your body as you replayed the conversation from outside. Ron didn't want you. He didn't love you back. He was angry and jealous, but he still didn't love you back.
You stayed there, pressed against the door for the next hour. Everyone headed up to bed at some point and Hermione and Ginny came to check on you. They explained how Harry told them about what happened outside but you just asked them to let you be alone for now. Being the good friends they are, they listened to your request, but not before Ginny promised to "beat Ron to a pulp for hurting you" the next morning.
Even Harry came to check on you. He was visibly uncomfortable, crying girls were never his strong suit (as you could remember from his first kiss with Cho Chang) but he still managed to give you a comforting hug. You thanked him and he left almost as quickly as he arrived. You got ready for bed in a trance, your eyes now swollen from the crying. Slipping on your pajamas, you barely noticed you were throwing on the vintage band shirt Ron had gotten you for a gift earlier. This only made you cry more. Dite landed on your shoulder as you lay in your bed. She affectionately pecked your ear and nuzzled her feathers against your cheek.
"I'm okay, Dite," you told her, petting her soft feathers. Your fingers traced the black heart on her head. Ron bought you an owl named Aphrodite, with a heart literally on her feathers, but he couldn't even tell you he loved you. These mixed signals made your head and heart both throb.
You fell asleep fitfully, waking up every couple of hours and tossing and turning in bed. Tomorrow was Percy's party, and you had to be okay for it. You couldn't let Ron know just how much he had hurt you. You would be fine tomorrow. You would be fine, just like you had been these past few weeks. You would be fine.

I have a concern about Dramione fandom, which has been slightly troubling me lately. I am not saying that this is something that is going to happen, or is happening already. Naturally, I don’t think this is entirely unfounded either (hence why I am writing this), but I am just one Dramione shipper. If this doesn’t resonate at all, that’s totally fine! We are all aware of extremely boorish and fatuous anti-Dramione people, who troll, defame and accuse Dramione of being all sort of things. We are also probably all quite familiar with their claims about the ship and its shippers. You know, Dramione promotes racism, sexism, classism, unhealthy and abusive relationships, it’s all about bashing Ron, it’s just cuz actors are hot, we should all pay homage and tribute to canon relationships (and their shippers naturally), and offer respect and fawn over everything “canonical” for gracing us with all this HP bounty, and so on. This time I am not going to try to offer rebuttals, or deconstruct their arguments, or even psychoanalyze them more than absolutely necessarily. I am not even particularly upset about them (anymore). They are categorically wrong, their arguments are never insightful or thoughtful. Most importantly, they are disingenuous in their argumentation and especially about their own motives. I believe, the best course is ignore them totally. What I am afraid, that these endless arguments, relentless belittling, and even harassment of which they never seem to grow tired off actually might change Dramione shippers and community as well. Not in a conscious way, but constantly being on a defense can make people internalize some of these arguments. Or rather their premises and assumptions on which they are based upon. I don’t mean it, that Dramione shippers will suddenly wake up, and shout out that Dramione was actually all about abusing women all along, or anything like that. What I mean is, that people rather internalize certain assumptions, framing and logic chains, which are build into those arguments. In a defense, they start define what Dramione really means, what is ideal Dramione, what is acceptable or desirable in Dramione fics, in accordance of these attacks, by unconsciously defending their ship from slander. As an example, Romione people constantly accuse that Dramione is either all about mindless “Ron bashing”, and Dramione shippers rightly say that it’s not what Dramione is about at all. What I am afraid, that people might internalize the point, that “Ronbashing” is something truly heinous, and what should be avoided at all cost. And as a corollary to that, ideal Dramione fics are those in which there’s no conflicts between Ron, Draco and Hermione. Or the very least they are resolved in a conciliatory and harmonious manner. Or it is lazy Dramione writing, when Ron is “villainized”. Or another thing they say is, that Dramione just about glorifying and eroticizing abusive relationships. This might lead that some of us accept the framing, that describing or narrating something is totally same as promoting and celebrating it. If they accept it, then it’s quite easy to logically infer, that if Dramione is not defined by Draco abusing Hermione (it’s not), then it must be defined negatively as its opposite. Meaning that something cannot be genuine or accepted Dramione, if it contains an abusive Draco. Or as an induction from that, if a fic has an abusive Draco, it also must contain a redemption arc, and Draco has to change and make amends, and redeem himself as a person. That we start to define Dramione being really about redemption or redeeming, forgiveness, changing oneself for the better, etc (as contrary to their claim that its about abuse). Don’t get me wrong, I’d say the majority of Dramione fics contain a redemption story arc, and Draco either has changed or actively changes his views and behavior. It’s a common and wonderful theme, and almost all my favorite Dramione fics have those, and I like just for its own skae. Yet it’s not something what either makes or unmakes Dramione. There’s a minority of fics, in which Draco is never truly redeemed (usually a lust-filled obsession, with many many cognitive dissonances, which he never solves), and they are as Dramione as anything else, and some people enjoy writing them and some people reading them (or at least some of them). Also, a lot of gray areas, which can be quite delightful, thought inspiring and invigorating (and hot!). Speaking for myself, I’d say maybe 1/20 of my favorite fics have this dynamic or something close to it. Maybe 33% are more in that gray area. It doesn’t do any harm, there’s nothing ethnically wrong about it, I never idolize that behavior. If Romione stans have problem with that, they can go away, cry and tell that Rupert Grint body pillow all their troubles, because I don’t give a damn. People don’t emulate or model their behavior or preferences from YA fanfics or smut in that sense in any significant numbers. If someone does, I am sorry to say, but you probably weren’t going to make it anyway. It’s the irl version of getting a comedy death in a video game, like if a smarter-than-average mushroom hypnotizes you and makes you walk into a bottomless pit, or something like that. Your problems are deep seated and numerous, which unless dealt with, will be triggered by just about anything. Its pure happenstance whether it will be Harlequin novels, Dramione fanfiction, urban legend your cousin told you, or whatever. This could go on, but seriously, Dramione shippers have nothing to prove or even argue with those antis. It’s just bottomless pit of resentment, what they twist into moral arguments, which they think will signify us as the worst kind of people, and they themselves as the most virtuous. Their antipathies are petty and personal concerns, in which they feel like the universe and the abominable cabal of Dramione shippers have cheated them out of all that attention, writers, fans, fics, and deference they feel entitled to. It’s natural for humans to cloak often even most pettiest and nonsensical slights and resentments into whatever moral or ethical language and arguments the society they live holds sacred. If we would be living in the 1600s, they’d be scouring the Bible for anti-Dramione arguments, and denouncing Dramione as unchristian and sinful. By their stated “moral standards”, there are a lot more “vile” and “harmful” ships out there, but they aren’t functionally bothered by them at all. So, unless really prompted, they don’t even bother to denounce them, little alone wage this never-ending crusade against them. That’s because they aren’t popular enough to trigger that envy and resentment (Hermione with basically any of the worst Death Eaters). Or they feel that they don’t compete in the same niche as their ship does (Drarry as an example). I wouldn’t be writing this, if this discourse with Antis hadn’t affected me as well. There was a time, I wanted to understand what they were about, and I read a lot of their grievances and internal discussions. While reading I couldn’t help but to be on a defense all the time. Sort of refuting and counter-arguing against their points in my mind, while reading their diatribes (I tried to start a dialog couple of times, but I was always totally ignored, which I am thankful for them in retrospect). Conditioning myself with that for long enough, I did notice that I started to feel a bit hesitant about certain tropes and Dramione fics I hadn’t before. I was thinking about Dramione like a defense attorney, excepting to be attacked from all directions. It actually took me quite long to figure this out, and how the bile of HP fandom had in subtle ways affected my sense and tastes without my really noticing.
Anonymous submitted: P.S. I wrote that previous submission, and I have to add, that I am not trying to say this is happening or pointing any fingers at anybody. There’s perfectly good reasons to not like any Dramione fic, as a Dramione shipper, in which Draco is irredeemable or evil. There’s perfectly legitimate reasons to prefer fics, which Ron is portrayed as a positive influence for Dramione. People can arrive to same conclusions or tastes from countless different routes and reasons. The negativity that the HP fandom and Romione shippers especially grace us just got to me in a way, that I wasn’t even cognizant about. It might be the case for others as well, if their own self-reflection so deems (or not).
------------------------
I agree with every point you’ve made. While it’s obviously okay to discuss why you like Dramione (or any other pairing), people also need to remember that they don’t have to justify why they ship Draco and Hermione together or prove (especially to haters as they’re not worth anyone’s time) that their OTP makes sense because even if it makes no sense whatsoever, it’s still fine to ship it as long as you can differentiate between fantasy and reality. I don’t know about you, but when I started shipping Dramione, it was like love at first sight. I didn’t think if they made sense, didn’t spend hours trying to make a list of arguments for Dramione, I just suddenly loved the idea of them together, believed they belonged together, and that was and still is enough. I don’t need to justify why I ship them, and neither does anyone.
It’s true that in most Dramione fics, Draco gets redeemed. It’s also true that most shippers prefer fics in which Draco gets a redemption arc, but we have to remember that there’s nothing wrong with enjoying fics in which Draco’s irredeemable or his relationship with Hermione is toxic. I myself read such stories from time to time. I like a good Ron bashing fic every now and then as well, and there’s nothing wrong with that either because it’s all fantasy, it’s all fiction, which, I believe, most Dramione shippers are aware of and accept. Hopefully, it won’t change, and no one will ever try to tell others what should and shouldn’t be written or what is and what’s not allowed in a Dramione fic.

I had a dream when I was half asleep that fourteen/fifteen-year-old Rupert Grint was telling a camera about the time Lin Manuel Miranda was on Harry Potter and according to him, Lin wrote fan fiction and fell asleep on the stairs, then, Emma Watson read it and marked it.

Tagged by: @onlyhereforinteractivestories thank you so much this was a blast! 🥰
Tagging: I reallyyyy hate doing this because I don’t want to make anyone feel obligated to do it. So anyone that wants to do it, do it and tag me please!
Name/Nickname: You can call me Alexa or Alex, I don’t really mind which.
Gender: Female
Starsign: Aries ♈️ 🔥 I think I’m a Gemini moon sign or sum but I’m bad with astrology.
Height: 5’0 welcome to Whoville y’all! Haters can’t bother me cause I can’t see em.
Time: it’s 9:43 AM as I’m writing this.
Birthday: April 17th
Favourite Bands and Favourite Solo Artists (combined): Listen, I’m honestly not a huge music fan. This list would include: a wack of rock bands my middle-aged father likes, a whole bunch of French-Canadian artists no one has heard of, and the people that write Disney songs. I also really like Michael Jackson, The Bee Gees, Mika, Led Zeppelin. It’s a weird list.
Song Stuck in my Head: Well now it’s Beat It by MJ because I had to think about him. But before that, the House MD theme song. I have problems with a capital Need to Get Some Help.
Last Movie: I watched The First Purge with a friend it left me scarred... The world is fucked up man.
Last Show: The Queen’s Gambit and Beth Harmon can step on me please.
When did you create this blog?: uh... like a few months ago? Idk? For quite a while I did nothing on it. Just stalked people harder than Joe Goldberg.
What do I Post: Garbage, honestly. Tbh, it’s just like everything that goes on in my mess of a brain. It’s really unorganized in here fam. I probably should’ve made seperate accounts with the number of fandoms, but I am lazy. So, like my bio says: everything interactive fiction.
Last Thing I Googled: Other than school related stuff (which is boring), The Wayhaven Chronicles fics on AO3. I obsessively read fanfiction- it’s unhealthy.
Following: 102 (let me love you my pretties)
Followers: 91 and they are all my children so my mother can’t ever ask me why I never gave her grandkids.
Do I Get Asks: Not really, but tbh I wouldn’t ask me questions either. My parents don’t call me a disappointment for nothing.
Why I Chose my URL: Honestly? I was planning to change it and just wanted something that worked. Do you know how many users with Alexa in the name there are? A lot, apparently. Too many. I’ll have to kill them all to become the only one. I’ll probably choose a new one until then.
Average Hours of Sleep: I actually sleep quite a bit, somewhere between 6-8 hours per night which is healthy, so wow! I guess I have accomplished something in my life. Although I am a uni student, this term just started so it’s pretty chill. But it probably won’t last for long.
Lucky number: 6! It was my soccer jersey number for a long time.
Instruments: Look... I’m a band kid. The only instrument I can actually 100% play is the euphonium. It’s not a pretty instrument; it sounds equivalent to a tortured elephant. Don’t bother looking it up, I promise you it’s not cool. But I did take guitar lessons. I just sucked.
What I’m Wearing: literally a t-shirt with a huge ass picture of Rupert Grint’s face on it that just says Ron in a font that looks vaguely threatening. I got it from my cousin. Other than that, Roots sweatpants.
Dream Job: I’m currently pre-vet so it would be nice to actually follow that through! We’ll see how that goes though. Sounds like a lot of commitment.
Dream Trip: I would love to visit Australia or Japan! They both sound really neat. Also, random fact: did y’all know Chris Hemsworth lives in Australia? That’s... an odd coincidence.
Last Book I Read: In reality, it would be an IF book (Supernatural in New York, precisely) but in terms of an actual novel? The Hobbit. Actually no, it would be my Biology textbook but that’s boring. I’m a cool kid.
Favourite Food: I really love pasta. Like crazy obsession amount of love for any kind of pasta. I’m not even remotely Italian. Give me those carbs.
Nationality: Canadian! 🇨🇦 and I find Canadian stereotypes hilarious. I often laugh over them while drinking maple syrup and riding my pet polar bear.
Favourite Song: Once again, I’m not a huge fan of music. So I’ll put the song I’m listening to right now: Golden by Harry Styles. I didn’t even know the name of the song until I looked it up. I’m sorry.
Top Three Fictional Universes: The Percy Jackson universe has been one of my favourites since forever. I also love Middle Earth, the setting of Lord of the Rings (I sound so basic). Lastly, the MCU! I’m a huge superhero fan :) it would be cool to be a superhero but I’d probably die in 0.02 seconds :/

A Brief Ranking of the Harry Potter Films
Hello everyone! My family and I have recently accomplished something that I don’t think we’ve ever done before. We watched all 8 of the Harry Potter films in consecutive order (not in one day of course). It was really amazing to sit down and watch each film, one after the other, almost like we were watching one long movie that was split into 8 parts.
It made me realize that even though I do consider myself to be a big Harry Potter fan, I don’t think I watch the films (or read the books) nearly enough. I enjoy something in all of them, although I do prefer some installments more so than others. That being said, today I’m going to rank all 8 Harry Potter films and give a brief reason as to why each film takes their respective spot on my list.
Keep in mind that these won’t be full on reviews of each film (that would take way too long), just a brief little paragraph that summarizes how I feel about the film. For simplicity’s sake, I’m also going to focus purely on the films without reference to the original source material. I hope you guys enjoy it!
#8 – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1)
Working our way up from the bottom of the list, I do feel bad calling any Harry Potter film my “least favourite” since it is something so near and dear to me. However, I have to talk about the empty and depressing feeling that this film gives me, which is the reason why I think I’ve only watched it 3 times total. I know that it’s a dark turn in the story, but I just wish that there had been a little more humor and a little more fun to balance out the darker elements that consume the entire film. The positive aspects include the acting (Rupert Grint in particular) and the cinematography in the forest chase sequence which is super riveting. I have no problems with a Harry Potter movie being dark (the series is no stranger to that), but Deathly Hallows Part 1 does it in a way that feels relentless and miserable. Simply put, it’s not a Harry Potter film that I find myself wanting to watch very often, if at all.
#7 – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Next on our list is another Harry Potter movie that I don’t exactly find myself drawn to. However, I can understand and appreciate what the 6th installment was going for. Considering the dark events that happen in films 4 and 5, Half-Blood Prince is a breath of fresh air for the story and characters. Our young protagonists can relax and behave like teenagers again. Hogwarts is whimsical once more. This almost sounds unfair to say, but I actually think Half-Blood Prince swings a little too far in this direction. For a good portion of the film, the movie feels like a classic teenaged drama/romance fiction. Jealousy ensues, hearts are broken, that sort of thing. There are times where you sort of forget that you’re watching Harry Potter, and the magic is somewhat lost. Overall, this installment is pretty enjoyable and harmless. The third act does a good job at bringing us back to the main storyline and setting up what is going to happen in the final films.
#6 – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Next up, we have the 5th installment in the Harry Potter series. Once again, this is another HP film that I don’t find myself drawn to, although I think I’m slowly coming around to it. If Goblet of Fire was Harry’s most physically challenging year at Hogwarts, Order of the Phoenix is his most mentally challenging. Harry’s struggles with identity and morality are introduced and resolved in a very satisfying way by the end of the film. Daniel Radcliffe is amazing as always, but the most entertaining character, in my opinion, is the sickly sweet psychopath known as Delores Umbridge, played by Imelda Staunton. She is so wickedly good (no pun intended) in this film; the kind of villain that you love to hate. This film feels like the stepping off point for Harry and his friends to become true players in the big picture. Although I don’t find Order of the Phoenix to be quite as engaging as other Harry Potter films, it is still a well-executed installment with some really emotional and satisfying moments.
#5 – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2)
Now we’re getting into the territory of Harry Potter films I thoroughly enjoy and love. Deathly Hallows part 2 might not have been the most perfect concluding chapter, but in my mind, it achieved the impossible task of tying together all the previous films in a coherent way. Everything has been building up to this film, and the last act shows us that Harry’s struggles and sacrifices have finally paid off. Key highlights include Alan Rickman’s final performance as Snape, the beautiful soundtrack by Alexandre Desplat and the incredible sound design. The film is packed with nostalgic and emotional moments that remain so with age. I do have a couple minor nitpicks about the film, but nothing can take away from how incredibly suspenseful and engaging this final installment is. Overall, Deathly Hallows part 2 feels triumphant and satisfying. All things must end, and yet the movie closes on a new beginning, showing us that the magic of the story will live on.
#4 – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I know a lot of people consider this one to be their favourite installment, and I can definitely see why. It might not be my personal favourite of the Harry Potter films, but it is certainly one of the most beautiful and artistically appealing movies in the series. The change in directing styles is noticeable, and yet none of the magic is lost. The best qualities of this installment include the stunning cinematography and a charming performance from David Thewlis as Professor Lupin. Otherwise, this Harry Potter film has all the usual suspects; new creatures, new places and a mystery to be solved. Speaking of new creatures, I think the Dementors will always scare me just a little bit no matter how old I get. This is a good example of a dark Harry Potter movie that still finds a way to weave fun and humor throughout the story. From a technical standpoint, Prisoner of Azkaban is the ideal Harry Potter movie that leaves extremely little to be desired.
#3 – Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
My relationship with the 4th installment has had its ups and downs. When I was younger I think it was my least favourite at the time simply because of how dark and scary it was for me. However, seeing Goblet of Fire through adult eyes, I realized just how much I enjoy it and I actually consider it to be very high on my list, yes…even higher than Azkaban. My favourite thing about Goblet of Fire is how exciting the film is. From the Quidditch World Cup, to the Tri-Wizard Tournament, there is so much that happens in this movie and yet the pacing is exceptional. There’s something morbidly fascinating about the way this film takes a nosedive into such dark territory, particularly in the third act. The darkness is brutal, and yet, it feels right. This film also contains what I believe to be Daniel Radcliffe’s most impressive performance. His acting goes to such intense and emotional depths that had not been seen prior to this installment. Overall, Goblet of Fire is exciting, dark and bold; and I appreciate that.
#2 – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
I know it might be surprising that this one is not my top favourite, because what’s not to love about the first installment of the Harry Potter films? It’s charming, witty, funny and full of wonder. Philosopher’s stone is an absolutely perfect first chapter that really captures the magic and spirit of the world of Harry Potter. Chris Colombus is by far my favourite HP director. There is something about his particular directing style that is super immersive and allows you to imagine what it would be like to actually visit Hogwarts. I also have to mention John Williams’ incredible score which is almost as iconic as the movie itself. Literally every aspect of this film is so well done; from the casting to the set design and everything in between. I think if there was anything to criticize, it would be that some of the human CGI is starting to look outdated. Overall, Philosopher’s Stone is extremely enjoyable on many levels. It always provides a sense of comfort whenever I start watching.
#1 – Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
For me personally, I believe the second installment of Harry Potter is the most underrated film in the series. Without basing this too much on nostalgia, I do have to mention that this was the very first HP film I ever saw in the theatre (twice!) and so this movie carries a lot of meaning for me. However, with that aside, this one has been my favourite Harry Potter movie for a long time and still continues to be. It takes what was good about Philosopher’s Stone but adds an element of dark mystery that I really like. It might not be as dark as the movies that come after, but Chamber of Secrets was definitely the first Harry Potter movie to take a darker turn, while still keeping things pretty light and family-friendly for the most part. The CGI is also a bit better in this one, and I cannot get over how real the VFX shots of the Basilisk look even to this day. Despite being the Harry Potter film with the longest runtime, the movie is paced beautifully and is super captivating. To some, it might seem weird that Chamber of Secrets is my favourite HP film, but to me, it makes perfect sense.
Well guys, thank you so much for taking an interest in my list! I hope you all are staying happy and healthy. Take care :)

One of the things I loved about being a teen/tween is getting obsessed with things. I can get obsessed with things now it just hits different. Just that feeling of being wholly infatuated with a movie, show, band, character, etc. was so exciting and felt so good. Like you couldn’t even explain why you loved it so much but it was so intense and real. Like when I was like 11 and the first Pirates of the Caribbean came out and I loved it so much, I wanted to BE Jack Sparrow. I bought a hat like his and a shirt with his face on it and I would practice walking like him and being clever and weird, and hearing the theme song would send me into an frenzy. Or when I was fully positive I was in love with Ron Weasley, and I would make collages of his face and just google Rupert Grint for hours and read fan fiction and my heart just ached for him.
That’s not to say you have to stop when you get older, it’s just something I’ve only recently come to appreciate. It’s possible to get it back. I’m mindful about it now, letting myself getting swept away by the whole essence of the thing, whether it’s witch craft or writing or the show riverdale. I just let myself feel it all and get excited and research it and live it, and I shirk all notions of being sensible or being not-weird or whatever it is in adults that changes you. Anyway this is one of the reasons I love writing YA, not just writing for that age group but also getting into the head of the younger me. I’m glad she’s still there.

Why do you think it is that so many people distort the actual canon characterization of characters so much? Like you've pointed out with how many people ignore how much Hermione cries. Why do you think people want to replace a more relatable, human Hermione with a super-human perfect one that's less relatable?
Ooh, excellent question! I think, first of all, we can’t ignore what atrocities the Harry Potter movies committed. I’m sorry, but I loathe the movies. The casting was terrible on sooooooooooo many characters. I’ll never forgive them for aging Lily and James Potter to middle-age just so it wouldn’t be so traumatic that such young people died. Umm, pretty sure it’s almost exclusively young people who die fighting in wars. And as much as I might have loved Alan Rickman, I’m sorry, but he was about 30 years too old to play Snape. Snape died when he was only 38. And the way that the movies absolutely demolished Ron’s character just so Hermione could get his best lines and come off as perfect? 🤬🤬🤬 Don’t even get me started on that. Ron is the character I identify with the most, so it infuriates me to see how his character was butchered. Nothing against Rupert Grint. He’s adorable, but the writers did no favors to his character. (And you should’ve seen the heated arguments @freyaishtar, @kittenshift-17 and I have gotten into about Emma Watson as an actress. Trust me. They weren’t pretty. All three of us have very definite opinions about her. I love you, @freyaishtar. 😉)
So when you factor in an alarming number of people have never read the books and only seen the poor excuses for movies, it’s not real any wonder that they expect Hermione to be a completely different character than she actually is. The movies took away all of the imperfections that made her who she was just to turn her into an annoying Mary Sue with all of the answers and only slightly imperfect hair. (Don’t get me started on how they f@#%#@ up her hair! 🤬) Then you have fan fiction stories where she is All-Knowing, All-Powerful, All-Seeing, Wanted-By-All-Boys which only make it even worse. There are some insanely popular stories in the fandom where she is just unbelievably powerful and I think that that creates an unrealistic measure of who she is as a person, especially if a reader has never read the books. (Which I will NEVER understand!) Some people, especially when they’re quite young as so many are in this fandom, seem to believe that good people don’t have flaws. That somehow only bad people make mistakes or have weaknesses or can be super unlikable. So if a character is supposed to be “good” they can only be good if they’re perfect. That’s a lesson that they’ll learn as they grow up. We are all imperfect. We all fuck up. It doesn’t mean we are bad people. Of course we should always strive to improve but we will never be perfect. I’ve been told over and over again since I returned to the fandom three years ago that lots of readers don’t want to read realistic stories. They’ve told me that they don’t like how I write realistic situations and realistic characters instead of writing “Happily Ever After” fluff pieces where no one ever makes a mistake because they’re trying to escape from reality when they read. That’s fine. We can all enjoy our hobby how we wish as long as we don’t attack others for liking it just a little bit differently. Personally, I find Mary Sue Hermione insanely boring and I loathe fluffy stories where there’s no angst or drama, but it’s fine if other people want to escape into a fantasy world they enjoy. Just as long as they don’t ask me to tag along or whine in my story reviews that my characters are too flawed.

I want to actively encourage people to write fanfiction about media they enjoy. It’s an important outlet for mental health to some writers, and besides being a way to cope with their real life issues it’s also a good way to develop your creative writing skills and gain valuable experience. Fan-Made content such as fanfiction and fanart do a wonderful job of elaborating on character experiences, developing a deeper connection to said characters, and keeping the worlds of books, movies, television, and other media alive long after they’ve concluded.
Real-life fanfiction, on the other hand, does not fall into the typical fandom expression. Harry Potter is a fictional character, who has fictional feelings and exists in a fictional world that can be changed and molded as a fanfiction author desires. As long as you’re not selling this work, no one is going to be hurt by it. Daniel Radcliffe is an actual breathing human who has actual real life relationships, emotions, and his own life to live. It’s one thing to write nsfw fanfiction about Harry and Ron in a timeline where Hermione and Ginny aren’t interested, and another to write fanfiction about Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint; especially when you’re sharing it directly to the people you’re writing about. I see this behavior all the time, especially in boyband fandoms like the One Direction fandom; where casual “shipping” of band members has lead to harassment and sending disgusting explicit fanart and fanfiction to the celebrities, their family, and people they care about. Louis Tomlinson has a child, and there are still members of the One Direction fandom that send him nsfw work depicting him having sex with Harry Styles and claiming his breathing, living, child is a fake publicity charade to hide their secret gay relationship. Not only is this insulting to both of them, and probably placing strain on their relationship and mental health, it’s a horribly delusional practice being upheld by the people saying “its just fanart/fanfiction/shipping and it’s harmless”. It stopped being harmless when you’re tweeting telling a celebrity his child is fake. It stopped being harmless when you started sending explicit art to a celebrity depicting them having sex with a friend/costar/coworker. It stopped being harmless when it began affecting their relationships with the people around them.
Draw your art, write your fanfiction. I understand that it’s a coping mechanism, as harmful as it is, and you may be using it to deal with your own stress. But keep it to your self and your fandom tags. Stop spreading false rumors about people’s children and romantic relationships. Stop sending people you supposedly idolize art that shows them in sexually explicit situations they’re probably uncomfortable.
Fandoms are fun. Toxic fandoms are gross. Learn to see the difference and correct disgusting behaviors.

Author’s Note: okay i know the gif is romione but just pretend it’s y/n okay? okay! enjoy this chapter!
This was it, you thought.
Ron was towering over you, his hands cradling your face so gently it was as if you were the most precious thing in the world to him. He licked his lips slowly, seductively, and leaned even closer. Now your lips were almost touching. If you would lean forward just the slightest inch, you would be kissing. But instead of doing that, you waited, your heart in your throat and your knees weak, for his next words.
These next words, you thought, are going to change everything. What he says next will be years worth of pent up desire and longing and finally he was going to tell you he loved-
"Nice dress," he whispered.
You remained still, stunned.
Ron broke out into boyish laughter.
"Ronald!" you yelled, slapping his chest with the palm of your hand.
"Are you kidding me?" you demanded, equally hurt and embarrassed while also trying to suppress a laugh. This was him complimenting your cheesy shorts instead of kissing you in his room all over again.
Ron laughed a little more, before turning back to you and almost closing the gap. Almost closing it completely, but not quite.
"What were you expecting me to say, y/n?" he asked, his voice dropping an octave lower as his eyes searched yours. The atmosphere between your bodies quickly changed to something more serious.
You shrugged. "Dunno, something a bit more romantic than that," you replied.
Ron put his fingers up to his chin and pretended to think. He was back to his goofy self and no matter how annoyed you were with his antics, you still found yourself madly in love with him, faults and all.
"Alright," he said, drawing out the word. "How about this?" His hand dropped from his chin to your waist, pulling your body flesh against him. Your heart skipped a beat and you knew that if he kept this teasing up, you were going to have a heart attack.
"Would you have wanted me to say that I've dreamt about holding you every night since we danced together at the Yule Ball? That every time I see you with Bill I get crazy jealous because I wish you would want me as much as you wanted him?"
He looked like he had more to say so you stayed silent as he kept saying those words that made your heart melt.
"Or would you rather me have told you that every single time we took walks around the Great Lake together back at Hogwarts, I thought about kissing you? Every damn time. Would you have wanted me to tell you that I keep every single one of your letters in a box under my bed because I miss you so fucking much in the summer that they are the only things that get me through?" he said, a little breathless, cheeks pink, and looking more vulnerable than you've ever seen him.
"Would you have wanted me to tell you how desperately I'm in love with you?" he finished.
It was dead silent between you, the only sounds the distant fireworks in the sky. Their vibrant colors reflected onto Ron's skin, his face turning shades of blue and red as the fireworks erupted. In that moment, he was the most breathtaking thing you have ever seen.
"Yeah, I probably would have wanted something like that," you joked quietly, flashing him a small grin. He returned it.
"C'mere," he mumbled, lifting your chin with his fingers as he finally closed the distance between you.
Even despite the fireworks exploding in the night sky, you could have sworn sparks were flying.
You had been dreaming about this kiss for the longest time, and it was already exceeding your expectations. His lips were soft against yours, but his rhythm was passionate. As soon as you connected, he had parted his lips, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Your lips molded to his and parted as well. He pushed your back up against the tree, kissing you harder, more passionately. Standing on your tiptoes to wrap your arms around his neck, Merlin he was taller than you remembered, you pulled him in closer. He responded immedietly, tender hands finding their way to your hips and squeezing lightly. And you continued like that, mouths connected, hands roaming, finally sharing the kiss that you had both been wanting for years.
You don't know how much time had passed, it could have been 5 minutes, or perhaps an hour, but at some point you had to come up for breath. Pulling away from him, you leaned your head back against the wood of the oak tree as you caught your breath. Your knees were so weak from the kiss that the only thing keeping you standing up was Ron's strong arms holding you in place.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," Ron whispered, breathing heavy.
Giggling, you replied, "Probably not as long as I've wanted to."
He leaned down next to your face and pressed a light kiss to your cheek. "I seriously doubt that," he mumbled against your skin.
The fireworks continued filling the sky as you stood with Ron under the oak tree, leaning against one another like you were the only people in the world.
"Y/n," he said, lifting his head to look you in the eyes. "I'm sorry that I've hurt you, I'm an idiot sometimes."
Laughingly lightly, you nodded your head. "Yeah, you are." He laughed too, kissing your forehead. Despite how happy and full of love you were in that moment, a question still nagged in the back of your brain like a parasite.
"Ron, why did you say what happened in your room was a mistake?" you asked, trying to keep your voice steady but the words ended up quivering anyways.
He shook his head, trying to find the correct words.
"I didn't mean that you and I, us, was the mistake. I meant it was a mistake for me to act like that when I was drugged up on Love Potion. I wanted our first kiss to be romantic, I guess, and in that moment I wasn't thinking clearly enough to tell you how I felt. I wanted you to know I loved you before we ever had our first kiss."
You were taken aback by his words. Ron had always come off as a goofy and silly guy, you never knew he had this romantic side to him. This only made you fall deeper in love as you grabbed his face, dragging him down to meet your lips again.
The second kiss was just as magical as the first, gentle yet passionate and as soon as it was over you couldn't help wanting more .
When the kiss ended, you stayed wrapped in each other's arms.
"So what do you say," he said, biting his bottom lip and swaying you slightly by the hips.
"What do you mean?" you asked, melting into his touch.
"Do you love me back?"
Now it was your turn to mess with him, just like he did with you.
"Hmm, I don't know, I'll have to think about that one," you said, your voice sing-songy as you grinned at him.
Ron rolled his eyes and brought you back in for a another breathtaking kiss. When you broke apart, he looked at you again, the question still in his eyes.
You nodded, pulling him closer, your lips ghosting over his.
"I love you, Ron, I always have," you whispered against his lips. The smile that spread across his face made every single emotion of this rollercoaster of a summer worth it. He kissed you again. By the end of the summer, your lips were going to be so swollen and chapped but you couldn't really bring it upon yourself to care.
As the kiss deepened, Ron's hands squeezed your hips again and you moaned in his mouth before you could think of stopping yourself. He froze immediately, and you winced, wishing you hadn't been so eager so soon.
He didn't miss a beat. "My room, tonight?" he whispered, holding you closer against him. So maybe he was equally as eager as you were...
You nodded, before replying, "Your bed is always open to me, right?"
He grinned, kissing you in response.
Your brain was so full of Ron and his lips and his hands that you forgot there was a party going on behind you. The fireworks had stopped a while ago and neither of you had even noticed.
But you noticed now when you heard loud, boisterous cheering. You and Ron froze as you looked towards the sound of the noise. From across the garden, Fred and George were jumping up and down, cheering, and high-fiving one another. Next to them stood Harry and Hermione who were both grinning.
"Bloody FINALLY!" Ginny shouted at you. Her shout brought the attention of Mr and Mrs Weasley to you and Ron. Mr Weasley gave his son a thumbs up while Mrs Weasley gave you a loving smile.
"We're never going to hear the end of this, are we?" he asked you.
Smiling, you replied, "not likely."
Ron grinned as the two of you walked back towards the crowd, hand in hand.

1 | Play
The Ferryman
I’m a huge Jez Butterworth fan – the first play I ever did was one of his (Mojo). I really enjoyed this one: it’s ambitious, the cast is huge and it’s got so many animals and children in it. Visually, there’s just so much to look at. It’s set in Northern Ireland in the 1980s, with Thatcher in power, and centred on a farming family who were at one point heavily involved with the IRA. It’s a great bit of storytelling and the staging is amazing – it’s all set in one part of the house so you really get a snapshot of the family dynamic. As with a lot of Jez’s stuff, it’s got some very dark twists.
2 | Art
David Shrigley
David Shrigley is an artist I’ve always been a follower of. I love his humour; it really connects with me. He does these weird, unsettling cartoons paired with sometimes quite upsetting text. I’ve got two prints of his at home, and a lot of his books. I do a bit of similar art, and I’m quite into crazy cartoons, so he’s a bit of an inspiration. He’s recently done the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, with this big thumbs-up. I’ve never met him, but I quite like the mystery – I don’t really want to know too much about him.
3 | Book
Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey by Chuck Palahniuk
I loved this book. It’s a fictional biography written through the words of people who knew this central character, Buster Casey. At one point he visits this dystopian world where people are split into Daytimers and Nighttimers, so it’s got science-fiction elements to it. I’ve read quite a lot of his stuff, and what I love is that he always manages to find something disturbing in his characters, something you’ve never encountered before. And the way it’s written has a kind of documentary feel about it, so it’s quite cinematic. A lot of his books have that quality – like Fight Club. I’d love to see this one as a film.
4 | Music
Hamilton soundtrack
I’m not very good at keeping up with the charts – I’ve always felt like a bit of an outsider when it comes to that. Recently I’ve been listening to the [hip-hop Broadway musical] Hamilton soundtrack: the music is so clever; lyrically it’s just genius. There’s not a bad song on there – it just flows so well. I saw it earlier this year in New York. I’d been listening to the soundtrack for about a year before that, so I knew what was going to happen, but then seeing it on stage was brilliant. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s as well loved when it comes to the UK [in December], but the music is so good, and [Hamilton composer and actor] Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius. It was one of the best things I’ve watched.
5 | TV
RuPaul’s Drag Race
I watch this religiously. I came to it quite late, but I watched every single series in a very short period of time and was completely taken by it. I didn’t know what the drag world was all about so it was really educational. It’s an art form I think a lot of people should know about and appreciate, because it’s really impressive. I like it when they have to make their own outfits, and I love [drag queen] Sharon Needles, she’s my favourite. It’s really good TV, and I’m constantly trying to get people to watch it. I’ve actually managed to get my dad to watch it.
6 | Website
threadless.com
This is a graphic design competition website. You design T-shirts to a theme, like the 1990s, or puns, and people vote on them. There’s this whole community of designers, and if their design wins it gets made into real products which people can buy on the site. The winners are usually professional graphic designers, but it’s open to everyone. I’ve been designing on there anonymously for a couple of years, under a pseudonym. One of my designs got printed a few months ago – that was big, man. It’s a cool site and a clever concept, a fun way to chat with like-minded artists.
7 | Game
Time Run, London E8
I did this escape room a couple of months ago, and it’s really, really fun. You split into teams and go into different rooms and you have to try to get out. When you go with a group of mates it’s a really good night out, and the set’s incredible. It has a time-travel theme to it: one room is a futuristic spaceship world, one’s an Egyptian land, then there’s Hitler’s office. There are a lot of elements from The Crystal Maze: we were in groups of five, and you have to work together. We didn’t actually escape – we got locked in Hitler’s office right at the end, which was quite distressing. But it was so much fun.

I think one of the things that makes shippers uneasy is that John seems to ship Finnrey more than Daisy does? If that makes sense? If you were ever in Harry Potter fandom it's analogous to how Rupert Grint was a much bigger Romione fan than Emma Watson was. I don't think Daisy hates it or anything, just like Emma didn't, but I don't think she cares about it one way or the other. I honestly think if it were up to her she'd go for Reypoe or Rey with a woman because she sees John as a brother. JMO
You make interesting points, anon, because this seems to be actually a pretty consistent pattern with the male actor in a prospective male-female fictional romance expressing more eagerness for the ship than the female actor. See for instance @diversehighfantasy‘s addition to this post, where she mentions the case of Richonne from The Walking Dead and how actors Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln talked about the relationship before it became canon. It may be reassuring to you because the dynamics are so similar to the way John and Daisy talk and the way their comments are treated.
Seeing your examples I’m now beginning to think the phenomenon may be a reaction to gender roles and more specifically to misogyny, where actresses have to be more circumspect about romance to avoid accusations of being oversexed, boy-crazy etc. It also may have to do with women’s perceived infractions (of NDAs, in this case) being judged more harshly and our being more afraid to test the boundaries as a result. When it’s a Black man and a white woman, unfortunately, this circumspection on the part of actresses can also play into racist stereotypes about interracial relationships.
None of this is to deny that John and Daisy might not ship it to the same degree, but looking at the examples of other franchises I feel a little more relaxed, actually.

OMfGGGG after 10.000 years on this site I was tagged again, by @dollopheadsandclotpoles :) Thanks!!
Rules! 1. Post these rules 2. Answer the questions given by the tagger 3. Write 11 questions of your own 4. Tag 11 people!
What are you currently reading? I’m reading Eclipse, like the trash I am.
What is something you’re excited about that is going to happen in the near future? Hopefully I’ll be graduating from my Bachelor course soon... If I try really hard and not manage to break down.
If you could get any writer in the world to write something, who would it be and what would you have them write? I would probably ask Oscar Wilde to write this beautiful, queer story with different types of queer people and you don’t know if it is happening in this world or some fantastical realm <3
If you write fic, what is the ship or the fandom you’ve written for most? Merthur :) That’s the only ship I’ve written for. However, if the made up scenarios in my head count, there are a lot more fandoms and it’s usually me paired up with my favourite character.
What toppings do you put on your pizza? AALLL THE CHEESE and salami/pepperoni
Did you ever go through a Twilight phase? As I am trash and I re-read the entire Twilight saga in one week, two weeks ago, after not having read it in almost 10 years, my answer would have to be yes... (Honestly though I was such a huge fan from ages 13 to 15/16 and it’s how I met my friend group at secondary school so I’m not even mad about it anymore).
If you could marry a fictional character, which one would it be? Merlin, or Neville Longbottom, or Edward Cullen because I’m trash (also book Edward really isn’t so bad), or Jane Eyre or Lizzie Bennet (gotta have some girls on the list).
What is a book you loved as a child that not many people know about? We have a Dutch book at home with fairytales. They’re not really conventional fairytales, but I really liked them and the illustrations in that book are beautiful.
Name a celebrity you’ve met in real life Colin Morgan <3 I saw him in the Tempest, Mojo, The Living and the Dead screening and in Gloria. I also saw Rupert Grint in Mojo of course (I almost cried when he got on stage cause jesus christ that’s my childhood...).
If you wrote your own TV show, who would you like to cast in it? Myself and Colin Morgan, we’d be lovers (of course) and then somehow it would also become an off-screen thing because of my alure :)
What song has been stuck in your head a lot recently? Stupid Bitch, from the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It’s freaking brilliant. xD The line: “You’re a poopy little slut who doesn’t think and deceives the people she loves”, is everything to me.
My questions: 1.Do you have any tattoos and if yes, what are they of. If no, do you want any? 2.What does your favourite outfit look like? 3.What would be your dream job in an ideal world? 4.What was your first fandom and how did you get into it? 5.What is your favourite character thrope? 6.Do you have any pets? If yes, tell me about them. If no, do you want any? 7.Who was/ is the best teacher you’ve ever had? 8.Are you still friends with the people from secondary school? 9.Where do you want to be five years from now? 10.Put your playlist on shuffle, the first song is your funeral song. What is it? 11. What is the last book you read? What is it about?
I tag: @thatonceandfutureprat @samuel-vimes @loyalunicorn @in2fiction @dollopheadsandclotpoles @gaychair @spacekidjosh (That’s not 11 people, but anywayyy :) ) Obviously you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to :)
#tag game#dollopheadsandclotpoles#samuel-vimes#thatonceandfutureprat#loyalunicorn#in2fiction#gaychair#spacekidjosh#I hope I'll get some back again cause I love doing these :)
