@ultraprofessionalprocrastinator if you ship danshun go ahead i don't really care lol and some of my close friends are danshunnies. i personally dont like it because of how some fans are and i don't see it, especially with how much of a shitty friend dan is to shun in s1, how they barely give af about each other in s2, and how badly they treat eo in ms1. its not compelling to me at all. what most danshun stans say is part of "canon" is their own hcs and the ships they're really looking for are runoalice and maruren.

jesus fucking christ where do i start. i hate kl*nce so much it has the cultural impact of nuclear waste.

kl*nce is the ship of keith/lance from voltron: legendary defender. if you werent on tumblr 2016-2018 i just cannot explain to you how the hellscape was. KL became sooo popular and i got the appeal at first but then they started treating everyone like shit like sending death threats and doxxing so i ended up shipping their rival ship which actually had more to back them up compared to their twink bland gayboy ship. the shippers just really ruined the show for everyone.

past the first season, KL had little to actually back them up romantically, and you could even argue that within s1 itself little really backed them up. however a good number of KLs were obsessed with KL being the promised queer rep and turned down any other proposed queer rep - if it wasnt KL, it's not rep. they made the most reachy meta posts and constantly inserted either keith or lance in the roles of shiro or allura, the two characters who actually mean the most to keith and lance respectively and called that canon. they also had a one-sided rivalry going on with lance insulting and bullying keith unprovoked because his fragile ego can't handle keith being better than him. KL's reach was huge and they constantly dominated tumblr's fandometrics for ships.

when i say aceshun/danshun is the "KL of bakugan" i mean it in the sense that they're both twink gay ships, have a one-sided rivalry where the loud, boisterous one attacks the quiet, more skilled one unprovoked, shippers constantly place one or the other in the roles other characters canonically fill to prove their ship and call it canon, and they have a fairly large following within the fandom. aceshun and danshun aren't as dominant as specgus and their fans will never reach the noteriety of KLs, but they do have a sizeable and sometimes incredibly annoying following considering the current size of the bakugan fandom.

Crossover idea

In early New Vestroia, when Runo and Julie get left behind the first time, Kyubey shows up and offers to make Runo a magical girl and send them both to New Vestroia with her wish (this is, of course, a trap; New Vestroia has no Witches).

Because of Runo’s wish, her magical girl powers and/or Witch form would probably involve teleportation or portals in some way.

PMMM is a very yuri series so that gives me an excuse to sprinkle in my favourite Bakugan ship.

runo and alice are generally together for most of season 1. alice flies to tokyo and lives with the misakis, they both work at the cafe together, etc. they're shown multiple times to care for each other a lot, especially on runo's end when alice collapses or disappears.

despite what bakugan wikia wants you to think, it's runo who's most affected by the reveal of alice as masquerade and not shun. she's the one who runs to alice before she leaves, the one who has a montage of looking into the sky asking where alice is, and she's the one who runs to alice when they meet again in vestroia. both of them are crying when they hug, by the way.

another fun fact is that in episode 39, it's runo and alice who share the intermission screens. not dan, who masquerade battled the episode before, or shun, who the wikia wants to brainwash you into thinking she's got something going on with. that's because if anyone's closest to alice, it's runo. and runo's the one who screams into the sky for alice to come back.

episode 25 also shows progression in their friendship. runo suspects alice to be the spy, which she is lmao, but alice doesn't know that so she denies it and proves herself by helping runo and dan in battle, showing her importance to the group even if she was a non-brawler at the time. runo thanks her and they have a little moment together <3

also here comes mine and marukrawler's "runo should mc" propaganda lmao: with alice/masquerade as the villain, it would be interesting, to say the least, if runo would be mc instead of dan.

the obvious is there - runo is haos and alice/masq is darkus. they're the real opposites, especially when put next to the way wyvern is associated with haos and naga with darkus. but dan's mc, so pyrus is the one opposite darkus on the attribute wheel when it makes more sense for pyrus to oppose ventus. runo is also the first person who masquerade goes after. make masquerade's final battle, a tag battle with dan, be with runo instead. it comes perfect circle. hashtag make runo mc 2k22

tl;dr they have the most canon stuff to them and i love it. wikia spreads shunalice propaganda when the real romance is runoalice. we should yeet dan into orbit.

I got hit by the biggest nostalgia train. I love Battle brawlers and would watch it with my friends after finishing my homework

I still remember Masquarade’s plot twist, that was the best mind blown of my childhood. I wish I could experience the series all over again without any knowledge of it.

Masquerade and Alice are still my favorite characters of the show, I hated how they were sidelined after New vestroria.

I realized lately that Masquerade/Alice twist had bigger impact than we might know.Even people who never watched the show knows about that.It also generates most of the viral posts about Bakugan. So whenever I say that Masquerade/Alice is the face of Bakugan it's not because I'm being biased.

I've always liked the show since it got aired for the first time.Though there were also some things I wasn't content with, i always admit they've really done well with this twist and it was the reason i became a fan.

In NV i still hate how Brawlers were acting like Alice never existed to begin with(always doing or celebrating something as a "team" and shit) . I was also confused because they managed to snuck Julie in (because she also doesn't live in Japan) but didn't even bother to do something with Alice.

If we go back to BB days,she was still kind of the odd duck of the team. I could never find a single merch that included her.It was mostly boys (rarely with Masquerade) and if you were lucky enough to find a "whole" team one i would be 5 of them without Alice.

My most logical explanation would be they just didn't know what to do with her.She's pretty,smart and powerful so even if they made her stay I'm guessing her fate at best would be just like Shun(another favorite of mine that didn't reach his full potential and was pushed away) but since she's a female they didn't even bother keeping her.They probably thought "if we prentend she doesn't exist they will eventually forget about her" or something 🫠

On a positive note, I think she was one of the best written characters in NV.I don't understand why they suddenly made her gullible(because she was innocent but never was gullible) or why they couldn't give her one victory at least, I liked how she was more confident,sassy and stood her ground.Her most Masquerade traits but now she's showing them as her Alice.I guess it was a way to tell us she truly is healing and becoming one with herself again.

great ship and great canon stuff to back them up and i stand by the opinion that if they were an m/m ship everybody would be eating it up. unfortunately it's too wholesome for me to really go insane over but i love and appreciate runoalice a lot.
