Of all weekends for Tony to be away, it had to be now. Alex hadn’t expected to run into Norman, hadn’t expected to hear his voice or look into his sickly green eyes. He hadn’t done anything, or even spoken to her directly, but it had easily been enough to terrify her. She’d got back to the Tower without making a scene, but she was breaking down now. Alex hadn’t even made it to her bedroom, she was on her knees in the living room, gasping for breath, her hands pressed over her mouth, tears falling from her eyes.
