The pink lovely sky turned pink, then purple; as the time was running against me. The darkness was encroaching upon me so I ran harder and faster. The shadows in the woods intensified as if they were chasing me, stalking. I pushed myself running towards the clearing. Saying thanks for the motivation. Til we meet again, just not tonight.

Last 5K of August. ⁣ ⁣ August has been my worst month since March. I spent all of March sick with bronchitis so running was off the table. Now with my back, tailbone and leg out of whack... just feeling all sorts of anxious, angry and mostly feeling defeated. My family is getting the aftermath of me not running and that makes me feel even worse. ⁣ ⁣ I have a marathon in January that I haven’t trained properly for because I keep thinking it won’t happen. Who knows what restrictions will come with it if it does happen. I’m not ready and I’m a fool thinking I was. ⁣ ⁣ My job doesn’t make me happy anymore. ⁣ ⁣ My weight gain is making me extra depressed. ⁣ ⁣ My family and I may have to leave our forever home for financial reasons and because covid-19, the hubby has yet to find a job. Feeling like a failure all around that I’m unable to provide for my family. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not OK. It’s fine that I’m not OK. Trying to find my way to be OK. ⁣ ⁣ Here’s your reminder to check on your friends that continue to smile, post silly pictures and memes even though they are struggling. Sports! Sports! Sporty-Sport-Sports!⁣ S • P • O • R • T • S⁣ Goooooo sports! ⁣ ⁣ 🤣 ⁣ ⁣ Our #teamsparklevirtualrun this weekend is sports themed but I don’t really follow any teams... So this is is as good as it’s gonna get. ⁣ ⁣ Still walking. Back and tailbone pain are persistent. Leg feels better but I’ve tried running and it kills my back. Been walking at least a mile a day since I got hurt. The streak lives on. I’ve lost count of the days. August will definitely not be a 100 mile month. I’m bummed but happy to still be moving. ⁣ ⁣ I’m hoping to make some big changes for September once my insurance kicks in. I’ll finally be able to see doctors for all my issues. Hello August!⁣ ⁣ I’m not posting as much as I’d like. That quarantine life has really taken its toll on me. ⁣ ⁣ Working 2 jobs is also taking precedent. Gotta make that money, honey. Even though job # 2 doesn’t pay me... yet. (FYI: if you’re not following @6thandoakmont or @instarunclub, you totally should because you love me 😊)⁣ ⁣ Finished July with 101 miles! Most were done indoors sans treadmill. Guys, I need a treadmill. Leave your recommendations below. I’m ready to kick out my children and use their room as a personal gym... kidding... sort of... ⁣ ⁣ I’m really not taking training for a marathon seriously and I need to. Running’s not cancelled after all and my heart keeps saying “go effing run!” but my brain is like “nooo sleep is good!” So that’s where I’m at. ⁣ ⁣ Wine and Dine being cancelled hit me hard. I was prepared for it to be cancelled but damn did the news fall like a ton of bricks. It sucks. I did opt in for the virtual because... medals. I stopped trusting pictures of medals and hoping they are better looking in person. I also opted in seeing as these will probably be the last medals I get for a while. I have resort reservations for that weekend thanks to @heighhosarah, but still debating if I go or not. We’ll see. Honestly? I’m freaking out. ⁣ ⁣ According to my watch, I’m a lot slower than what the app I was previously using had me at. Like a lot slower. A LOT. It’s making me nervous. Disneyland celebrated their 65th anniversary this week. So of course our #TEAMSPARKLEVIRTUALRUN this week is Disney themed. I don’t lack Disney fashion as you can tell. 😉 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So happy I was able to go to Disneyland for the first time ever last year before all this craziness started. I really hope I can take the kids some day. 🏰 ⁣ ⁣⁣ Today is day 110 of my streak. Today was also my first outdoor workout in since July 6th... why? Because Covid. That’s why. I was exposed and had to go get tested. 9 days of anxious waiting later, results came back negative. Still, this ordeal messed with my head and I didn’t want to leave my house. Talking myself in to doing something I don’t want to do is exhausting! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Today’s weather was better than yesterday. It was hot AF though then it started raining. Now, the sun is out and the floor is lava. 🥵 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 4 slow miles. Guys, I’m scared.
