No post-race selfies because I was tired and only thinking about eating breakfast at Flying Biscuit but here's a pre-race one.

Basic breakdown was the following:

Miles 1-2: Alriiiiiight. Feeling pretty good. Better pull back the pace though because we didn't train for this...

Miles 3-5: I thought there were hydration stations every mile... Oh well. Still feeling pretty good but hips are kind of tight. Kind of have to pee....

Mile 6: holy shit. I haven't run past 10k in 2 years. Must take a walking break... or 12. Why is Atlanta so hillyyyyyy??? Oh look! Free Clif gels! Still gotta pee...

Mile 7: there's only 3 miles left. This shouldn't be that hard. Right?? Right???

Mile 8: ok time to pick up the pace. You can do this. Let's open that gel pack! Ignore your bladder!

Mile 9: gel packs are garbage. I regret putting that in my mouth. Hurry up and finish so you can get water. And also pee.

Mile 10: hell yes! We are done and under our goal time but not quite at our goal pace. But also not dead. Time to go eattttt!!

So yes. Fairly successful run. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to walk today because I was so sore yesterday afternoon but all was good.

Kyle and CJ greeted us at the finish and we celebrated with oversized biscuits and chocolate chip pancakes. I'm really happy Drew decided to run with me because I know I probably would've just skipped the race otherwise.

Running at night means convincing yourself to run faster because you hear footsteps behind you but really it’s just the sound of your own feet but you’re too busy saying “shitshitshit. Go faster. This was a mistake” in your head and before you know it, you’ve set a PR but will never do it again because you also almost had a panic attack.
