Master post of characters that give ME gender envy
Here's is just a few characters I feel, personally, give me gender envy/make me go "they are SO gender" (obviously not everyone because that's a lot) -You can submit these characters into the tournament if I have swayed you btw >:)
Ngl it's a little long
Link from Legend of Zelda
He is a classic to me, this little bundle of chaos has given me gender envy since I was in middle school
Haruhi from Ouran Highschool Host club
She is my profile pic, obviously she is here haha. Also she is the reason I got my first pixiecut/short hairstyle in middle school :)
Albedo from Genshin Impact
As someone who is also an artist and has a great interest in the world around me (currently studio art major that used to be an env science major) I relate to him greatly. I also want to be him, I want to look like him, he is what I want to be.
Venti from Genshin Impact
He feels SO gender to me
Asmodeus from Obey me
IDK, he's a very pretty boy. I see a girly looking boy and I'm like "I want that"
Ava Kendricks from Tears of Themis
She's just so...y'know. She's evil and hot like. I want that.
Mikoto from Rune Factory Tides of Destiny
I can't remember if they're actual gender is lowkey a spoiler or not, but I will say they are so gender.
Grusha and/or Rika from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
I couldn't decide, so both are here. They are both VERY gender. Also I haven't played this game yet...I just see them around on the internet.
Klara and Avery from Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor
I also don't have the DLC for this game, but I do have the base game(Shield) and I think they both feel very gender to me.
Sylveon from Pokemon
I think you get it.
Eclair cookie, Pure Vanilla cookie, Cream Unicorn cookie(and more)Cookie Run
Gender is stored in the cookie I guess?
Testament from Guilty Gear
Testament is SO gender. I can't even. I have never played Guilty Gear, but the characters look so good. (I also like Bridget, she seems so great)
Alucard from Castlevania
He's pretty? What more do I need to say? He fits the pattern of my desire to be a pretty boy. Who doesn't want to be a pretty vampire man? (on that note a pretty fae man would also be nice)
Some of my Ocs....Obviously...I made them

[rune factory 5 discussion. story spoilers for rf5 and rf4. this is basically me rambling since i can't shut up about my obsessions.]
---------------
i've been playing rf5 sporadically ever since it released and i'm probably somewhere in the middle of act 2 rn. i know that a bunch of other people probably thought, as i did, that this story feels a lot like a rf4 rip off. (idk if this is similar to the stories in other rf games as the only other rf games i've played were frontier and tides of destiny/oceans, but those were so long ago that i can barely remember what either story was like.) but as the story progressed, i think i can see some unique appeal to the rf5 story.
first and foremost, even though we are given an important job to take care of the town like in rf4, we aren't actually in a position of power. not even our "employer" is the most powerful person in the hierarchy of the story. in rf4, venti is a being of high regard, and the player character is literally put in charge of careing for the town as the stand in noble. sure, there is the big bad, who is stronger than her due to her weakened state, but no one is really regarding that guy as a part of the hierarchy. in rf4, it's two powerful foes butting heads. in rf5, by contrast, we and the captain are just members. sure, we're strong with our earthmate powers and our ~protag rights~, but even our captain is of lower standing to the big bad. this dude isn't just some evil force: he's a person everyone holds to a high regard. he symbolizes justice and goodness to the land even if his actions contradict this image. what are we supposed to do against this guy that everyone supports? i like how the story is showing the different power dynamic.
however, where i think the story really shines is focusing on the protag character. the appeal of rf4's story, at least to me, was seeing venti's relationships with the protag and the guardians. sure, we saved the world, but this story was really more about saving your loved ones. our protag never questioned their adventure nor their decisions because they knew they were building towards one goals: helping the people they care about most, ensuring their suffering ends so they can all smile together. but in rf5, things are different. we have grown attached to the organization we work for because our protag thought it was the source of good. but what do you do if your pure intentions were turned upside-down because the name they were performed under was corrupt?
this struggle along with others we see is what really sells the story for me. this protag is one that is growing bit by bit as the story moves on. while rf4's protag never wavered with their new identity, the rf5 protag is constantly trying to find theirs. they appear to be bothered with their memory loss even now, and even though they were just given a new identity, when that was taken from them, they must reconcile with themselves as they try to find a new one. this story is focused around finding one's identity when the world and the truth is clouded and corrupt, and that's really neat.
#brbrbr unorganized rf5 thoughts#it's still not my fave gameplay wise and the sotry still isn't perfect by any means#it doesn't feel quite like a rf game to me in a way?#but it's not a bad game either#and it has its own appeals#it's a neat game and i'm enjoying it enough to sink as many hours as i have into it#rune factory 5#rf5#rune factory#my stuff

Margot’s Rune Factory Headcanons #2;
I stumbled across this personal headcanon in notes I’d taken from my last playthrough (on top of all the babble I did about the library's books last week);
#2 - “Grimoire” is a word for the Earthmates who are connected to a Dragon [in this case, Terrable], and thus are able to wield their power.
Tl;dr - Raguna could be a Grimoire, and Ethelberd tried to become a Grimoire.
I’ve messed with this thought for several days, so hopefully this makes sense.
Headcanon that the word “Grimoire” has lost a great deal of meaning as time has gone on. Terrable has been sleeping, resting for so very long- in my headcanon, he’s been resting since the day Fiersome was sealed away. Terrable, for the longest time, had the best chance to share his power with Earthmates. Meanwhile, Aquaticus preferred to guide Earthmates instead of lending them power, and Ventuswill has given so much of her own energy to the land that there’s not any power she can spare. Truthfully, however, there hasn’t been anyone to truly wield Terrable’s true power, or any Native Dragon’s power, in generations.
There are some modern day Earthmates who are strong enough to feel Terrable’s presence within the earth. (Headcanon: Doctor Edward is one, as is Ivan, as is Raguna.) Some of those Earthmates have even had strange dreams of communication with Terrable - reminiscent of the dreams in RF:Frontier - but that’s it. (Ivan is one of those few- and the most trusted to the King, mayhaps.)
Nowadays, “Grimoire”’s correct meaning is mainly only used correctly in Norad’s Capitol and Sylphia, among royal researchers, mages, and knights. Even then, the term is used incredibly loosely, and quietly. (Ventuswill isn’t exactly about to spill secrets when she is weak, and the ‘right person’ isn’t around.) Among the rest of the country, the ‘Grimoire is a dragon’ or ‘Grimoire is a mage’ legends have become increasingly popular, ideas that stemmed from two halves of the truth. (The tale has become one of Kardia’s tourism drives; visitors enjoy the small town’s festivals and a chance to get a ye olde photograph at the base of the mountain.)
Meanwhile, the Sechs were on the right track, in having the idea that using an Earthmate would be a good way to get to Terrable… That an Earthmate and the idea of Grimoire were connected…
No one is sure of a Grimoire’s true form because no one is quite sure who a Grimoire will be, not anymore. It’s not often there’s an Earthmate strong enough, a situation dire enough, or an Earthmate with the correct will and drive to handle that power. Those who fit that criteria become the dragon’s messenger, just like those Earthmates of old who worked alongside Terrable to seal away Fiersome, or those who Ventuswill befriended long ago. (And it’s probably a good thing Fiersome doesn’t seem to be able to lend anyone power.) A true Grimoire would be granted powerful magic and stamina, a gift fromthe Dragon themselves, some of their essence in their veins- a force beyond any monster or mage in the mortal plane.
And that’s why Etherlberd was so desperate to get his spell right- first, against Terrable, second, against Ventuswill. He needed to figure out how to wield that power, to become a Grimoire, or something close to it, before someone wielded it against him.
So, to repeat, tl;dr - Raguna essentially = Grimoire, and Ethelberd tried to force himself to become a Grimoire.
And, personally, I’d like to see something where a RF hero actually gets to use that power, instead of the Dragon showing off all on his own. Not that Terrable driving off the Sechs Army wasn’t satisfying, but like. Let the Earthmates have their Thor: Ragnarok moment!
Please note; I haven’t beaten Tides of Destiny yet, so if that happened, I wouldn’t know. Also no spoilers pls I’ve avoided them thus far and would like to continue <3
And again, these are all personal headcanons made for fun, not meant to be hard facts or game lore <3

Layer 1 Explained
There will be some character spoilers for this layer, this includes the protags mainly, if you know the basics for the protags then you're good.
There will also be an extra fact surrounding rf5 as this iceberg was created before rf5 came out, I will also add some other bits that I forgot to put onto iceberg or new infomation that I found.
One off races:
These are races that appear in only one game, for instance: Half-human Half-monsters, Univir and Mermaids only appear in rf3, vampires only appears in rff, etc.
Rune Factory Oceans:
Rune Factory Oceans or Rune Factory Tides of Destiny (depending on where you live though I will be refering to this game as rfo) has a lot of differences to other rf games, it's the first game to appear on a non nintendo system (ps3), it's the first game where the main character can be chosen to be a girl (not counting aria as kyle is the rf2 protag) and where you can romance a male character. It's also the most mixed rune factory game to come out reception wise, all other rf games get mostly favorable reviews but rfo has a lot of 5/10 from different reviewers.
References to other series:
Theres a few references to different games, anime and other series.
E.g.
In rf4, during the buddy battle event, Clorica's monsters are called Kotaro and Minami, which is a reference to the protagonist of Kamen Raider Black and Kamen Raider Black RX, Kotaro Minami.
Also in the buddy battle event, Vishnal's monsters are called Sebastian and Alfred, which are references to Black Butler for Sebastian and Batman for Alfred.
Rf4 / rf5 item descriptions:
In rf4 some items had funny descriptions and this was carried onto rf5 and increased in the amount of items.
Heres some examples of these descriptions:
Nearly everyone in rf5 is bisexual:
Rf5 is the first rune factory game that allows the player to romance all bachelor and bachelorettes as one gender, so the protag and all of the bachelor and bachelorettes are Bisexual.
Minako Iwasaki:
She is a freelance artist who has done character designs for all of rune factory, she has created designs and official artwork for all rf games including rune factory 5. I would personally recommend looking at her other artwork, they are all really beautiful.
Taming bosses:
Starting in rf4, you can tame some of the bosses you fight. To tame the bosses, you need a particular item, from easy to grind items like the Nine Tailes Fox Bell for the nine tales fox (rf5) to really hard to get items like Turnips Heaven for Terrable (rf4). You cant get certain plot important bosses or just certain bosses. You can find guides for rf4 & rf5 boss taming online.
Rf4 art contest:
In rf4 (the original and special) if you go to Trophy Room B2, you can find an art pallet which will show a ton of submitted fanart for the game. It has a human version of Ventuswill commentating over it and has a lot of characters from the previous games and some rf4 charcters commenting about the artwork shown.
Protagonist past:
Most of the protagonists pasts are generally unknown some have some elements explained like Raguna being related to royalty and Micah used to be part of the royal guard, though not all infomation about them is known like their childhoods, how they acted before the amnesia, where exactly they come from, what is their family like etc.
Later in the iceberg I will discuss 2 of the more mysterious protags so... stay tuned for that.
Cheap hoe:
This one is a reference to the joke with the name of this item, the cheap hoe is one of the earliest peices of equipment you can get in game and well... the name of it has two meanings.
There will be a few joke enteries or ones relating to jokes though most are serious or of they are a light hearted entry.
Feminine male protagonists:
The main characters who are referred to as feminine are Raguna, Micah and Lest.
With Raguna, on valentines day, some male characters will joke about if Raguna was given chocolate (as on valentine's day men give women chocolate).
With Micah, there's are a few examples but one that sticks out is with sakuya where she asks Micah to wear her bell saying that he would look cute in it.
With Lest, some travelers will mistake him as a girl and ask to go on a date with him.
Earthmates:
Earthmates are people (mainly humans) who have a special connection to the earth, they used to have have a lot of powers mainly controlling runes (which are important to the world of Rune Factory).
Most protagonist are earthmates with the only one not being confirmed to be one is Micah (stick a pin in this one, well come back to it at the bottom of the iceberg) as he is Half-Human Half-Monster.
Tamitaya:
Tamitaya is the spell that is put on all tools and weapons, this spell allows defeated monsters to return back to the Forest of Beginnings.
The Saint Coquille / vivajeux family:
The Sainte-Coquille / Vivajeux Family is a well known family that have appeared in every game. They known as the Sainte-Coquille family in the west and the Vivajeux in Japan.
When appearing in game they usually (with acceptions):
× Have a Father, but no mother
× Have a daughter with purple hair
× are Rich
× are good friends with the elves
Though since rf4 this theme has stopped, there has been no daughter though Margaret can be seen as an adopted daughter to Porcoline, whilst Ryker can be seen as a son to Palmo.
(Ryker can be similar to Max from rf2, who is a son)
There will be more mentions of this family in this iceberg (again put a pin in this)
Extra facts:
Native Dragons:
The Native Dragons, also known as the Elder Dragons, are deities in the rf series and are very important in every numbered rune factory game, they are: Terrable, Fiersome, Aquaticus, Ventuswill, Lumenivia, and Umbradea.
There were originally only 4 of these dragons but rune factory 5 included 2 new ones.
Fun fact: in rf1 you can find a book which has infomation about the native dragons, in this book, the original 4 native dragons are actually named even though only Terrable appearance. Ondorus in rf3 also mentions all of the native dragons.
This teir was a lot of well known facts and they will only get more unknown and odd as we go down.
The rune factory iceberg is finally complete, 8 layers, I don't know how many enteries, and a lot of rf facts.
I will (hopefully) he explaining all of the layers, I don't have any way to do it in a video form so I'll just reblog this post a good few times to explain the enteries.
Thank you to the Rund factory Fandom site, it helped a lot as well as @forestofbeginnings I didn't contact them directly but their many posts helped me a lot as well.
If you want to know a explanation for a entry, just ask in the replies, tags, dms or just ask me anonymously.
