First, let's talk about the Iris Florentina

Meaning: true love, tender love and friendship. Why this flower was chosen: Some iris' have flaps which reminds me of her eyes that she covers with her bangs Description: They cover their bright red eyes with their bangs. They are quite shy and talk through their plush animal (autistic behavior). They are training to be a nurse and trying to get out of their shell. They wear giant bloomers which makes them seem younger than they are.

Now, let's talk about the bouquet of rue, tansy, monkhood, milkweed and dame's rocket

Meaning and why this flower was chosen: Rue, which is used to symbolize regret partly because it’s in the name, represents this character, who bears deep regret for an incident more personally impactful than anything else could be; it wasn’t the character’s fault, but nonetheless it begs forgiveness, and in many ways it’s inseparable from the incident itself. Tansy, which can mean a declaration of war, thus symbolizes this character who is defined by its existence in a context created by violence. It wouldn’t be who it is if not for (essentially) war being waged against it and its family. And after that (if you could even say there is an after for this character), it lives in wholehearted (and correct) conviction that it has a nemesis out there, a true and personal enemy, who will declare their ill intentions to it clearly and politely. So it would have been perfectly feasible and appropriate for its nemesis to literally send it a tansy bouquet. Monkshood, which is a warning of nearby danger and thus represents this character’s knowing fear of its nemesis. Milkweed, which symbolizes freedom and remembrance, fits here because this character kept running its whole life in order to get some semblance of freedom and safety for its family, and because remembrance is something built into the foundation of its story. Dame’s rocket is representative of deceit, and this character is an unreliable narrator who bluntly claims the right to lie outright, as such rights must be exercised lest they wither. Description: This character is a sentient building who cannot substantially communicate except through the fourth wall. It is a traveler, an immigrant, an escape route, a victim, a trauma, a gasp of desperation, and an act of lines crossed. Many things have burned in its hearth fire. It has a nice rooftop garden. It created a multiple-choice backstory for itself—many lies, of course. It’s gone through some major renovations by its resident family. It’s got this pretty mural on its front door. It has given its audience (i.e. the real actual readers) a death threat.

Huhu. I don't really post a lot of my musings to the dash, but I do like a lot the rune factory world building we've done. There's something fun about giving a darker, edgier grit to them I enjoy. And also, the idea of Iris reaching out to Raguna through his dreams is something I enjoy. Ahuhu.

Other world building I've enjoyed over the past year: Anything to do with the Goddesses. I'm always a sucker for the golden girls (tm).

Building up modern verses for me is fun too. I continue to chew on doctor Mipha with her fishtail braid....

the 3ds has access to so many harvest moon/ Story of seasons games and I am having a blast playing through them

I haven't made it very far and have only really played Sos: 3oT and SOS (well and Rune factory 4) so far but I have all of them now and there are just so many you can play on that thing

Also i hung out with my mom the other day and had her guess which of the bachelors I chose in each of the ones id played so far and she guessed so easily and then bullied me about how young Kiel and Mistel look

She was like "hm- of course you would go for the ones with baby faces are they even adults?"

and I'm just "i mean like the game let me marry them so i kind of just assumed they were yeah"

She also took one look at Wayne and went i bet you saw him and immediately went ew cowboy which is funny because yeah i did

like he did grow on me and I do like him quite a bit now but my first reaction to him was indeed ew a cowboy

Really though she knows me to well because every one of her guesses was right actually

though she did cheat a lot by choosing two options

Agree with your Harvest Moon post for the most part but I wouldn't say the game is "for children." It's for all ages, like Mario and Pokémon are, which is why most of the games do have something of a variety when it comes to marriage candidates ("younger" ones like Hiro or Luna and "older" like Klaus and Iris). Idk maybe you didn't mean it in the way of "It's for children SPECIFICALLY" but it came off a little like that.

That being said people think too long and hard about the marriage candidates and their "childish" designs. Like damn what if I just think (to use aforementioned Pierre as an example) Pierre and Chelsea look cute as a couple together lol it's not that deep. And if people don't like a certain candidate (for that or ant reason) they can just ignore them? Most of the games have pretty specific requirements for heart events that it's easy to avoid characters you don't wanna Romance so idk why people act like the games force you into romances or w/e.

!!! i definitely didn’t mean it that way ashsjsjd my bad if it came off as too firm😭 the games are totally for all ages, but the fact that kids are included in that demographic is a really big factor people need to consider, as opposed to a game like rune factory which is marketed at teen and above audiences. especially because a lot of people ARE introduced to the series in their childhood, i think people just in general tend to forget that there are a TON of different people playing these games, which is why sometimes there ARE candidates who seem younger or older and just because they arent everyone’s personal taste doesnt make it morally wrong!!! in general. yeah people think WAY too hard about it, if the characters can get married, they’re all adults, it’s literally not that deep😭

Rune Factory Frontier is like, one of my childhood core memories, like just watching my big bro play it and later also playing it myself! Im super happy that theres still people out there who enjoy it.

Also, am i the only one who just sat on whale islands starting area to listen to the soundtrack (same goes with the area in town where Iris sings her song, i forgot the places name but you can just hear her little melody while you stand there)

Tumblr has some really nice folk who love Frontier, I think most of us are just quiet? There's so much huge love for RF4 [and I understand] but the other games all have their cozy corners~ I've been inactive because of my job+commute+early year illness but that's activity alone, the love for RF never goes away. It's a hyperfixation I always go back to. I'll die on the hill of those early RF game vibes. And Frontier? Honestly? Peak RF aesthetic. You're so right that I'd just go place to listen to music, or just to look at those blinking Runeys~
