Tribute fanart for Radfem/GC YouTuber RunawaySiren940 after hearing about her untimely passing yesterday. I'm still in utter shock at this, she was so young and had her whole life ahead of her, she was taken too soon and I'm feeling heartbroken. I had watched her content since 2021 and it was inspiring seeing her grow and perfect her craft as well as see her hold the line for lesbians, gays, and gender nonconforming people.
As far as I'm concerned, she's an icon, standing among the likes of Magdalen Berns and I just hope that wherever she is, she's resting in peace and power (thoughts and prayers for her family & friends). I really hope she knows that her content truly made a difference and that she will be so very missed. Rest in peace & power Siren

Sorry... I just sent you an ask that I meant to send anonymously.. if you wouldn't mind, could you refrain from publishing it? I'm crypto and don't want people to associate my account with my rad activities
no worries <3
what you wrote:
I dont know if you saw, but Runawaysiren has passed. Why why why so many young radfems, first Magdalene, now her... 😢 this is a loss for the community but her body of work is so valuable and cannot be lost
It is utterly tragic.
She was in her early 20s. Heartbreaking to have lost her. She was prolific in creating radical feminist and gender critical youtube content and was beloved by so many.
Today I made a donation to Vancouver Rape Relief in memory of RunawaySiren940, and then after I learned of a charity she really supported:
https://www.mosaicgeorgia.org/
so I've been encouraging women to do donate to them. I think it's a nice way to honour her.

“You must be lonely.”
“I was lonely before. Now, I’m enjoying solitude, and company,” I acknowledged, tipping my drink towards Lily. “As I so choose. But this really isn’t the kind of conversation you come to places like this for.”
“Who’s to say? I can get small talk anyday. It all blends together. The ‘how was the Lourve’, and ‘where are you from’s all become so tedious. I hate it,” Lily said, as casually as one would remark on the weather.
“And you think talking about death and depression is better?”
“Well,” she said, pretending to think it over. “It is far more interesting.”
I wanted to ask her to come to my hotel. It felt crass to admit to it, mundane in the worst way, because what else was sex other than the unshakable Proterozoic urge to reproduce, chasing pleasure inextricable from the need to live on through offspring, in the echoes of genetic material resurfacing in smaller and smaller quantities as the years went on without you? Since then we had redefined it; at the very least, there would be no offspring between us women, only pleasure and the chase of it, and hopefully, a connection that would chase away the darkness of separation until like the sun setting, we parted. Maybe she sensed it. Lily seemed to understand more than I could put into words. She downed the rest of her drink in a suddenly unladylike way. Her throat stretched and moved, and her mouth parted. Perhaps a little too wide, and then it closed.
“Would you care to walk with me?”
And for better or worse, I did.

How awful. Women in an incredibly misogynistic society are not inclusive of men in the womens liberation movement, which a Korean American is upset about. Whatever will they do without the explicit support from a group who pretends sex based oppression isn't real.
I need people to stop glorifying the 4B movement in Korea, from a Western (white) perspective. Stop it. If you are blissfully unaware of this (having not been on TikTok) - in theory, it makes sense. No sex with men, no dating men, no child rearing with men, and no marriage with men. But. BUT. Feminists in Korea are problematic AF. I know this from both personal experience (having been on the receiving end of their ire online) and everything I've read about them, in Korean. I see all these white TikTokers (and even some in the Korean diaspora) fawning over how "we" in the US need this and, no. If your feminism is transphobic, hates gay men, hates men in general, that's not the feminism I'd endorse. Why is Korean feminism transphobic? In 2020, Korean feminists ACTIVELY CAMPAIGNED AGAINST a woman who was accepted to Sookmyung University. An all womens' university. But she was a woman, you say. What could be their problem? According to Korean feminists, they didn't want a "man" in their space. Because she is a trans woman. This is not unusual for Korean feminists. Having lived there for 5 years, to some extent, I understand their anger against misogyny. But if you are truly against the toxic patriarchy that exists in Korea, you must also help dismantle military conscription because that is where a lot of men become radicalized, bullied, etc etc and "grow up" to be the most toxic form of men seen on this earth. But Korean feminists don't give AF about that and in fact, I've read a lot of them express that it's good for men to suffer. Guess what? That view is internalized misogyny and toxic patriarchy, too. And I don't want to hear it about the movement being so "young". Korean women have stepped up to the plate before in our history. We are capable of better than this fucking nonsense. It's a bunch of transphobic, gay hating radicals that have hijacked what was supposed to be about social justice. WOMAD (link is to the Wikipedia article, not their site) and Megalia are the two sites they stem from. It is the most toxic group of people I've ever had the displeasure to encounter online. Any form of criticism is, at best, ignored and worst - I've been "called out" for being Korean-American, and therefore, to "butt out" of "Korean issues". Amongst other bullying I've personally received. And yes, not just on forums but on public articles that I've commented on.
I know it's a catchy title and it appeals in theory but please, please do not glorify these transphobes and TERFs. They don't deserve your attention.

RunawaySiren passed away…I’ve linked her videos often because it feels like no matter what concept I’m trying to explain, she has a video where she explains it perfectly in simple terms. I always admired her intelligence and I’m so sad to hear that she is no longer with us.
If you haven’t already, please check out her channel. It would be awful to see her forgotten.

My favorite radfem YouTuber just passed away
I'm absolutely devastated. She had an account on here too under the same username. Rest in power @runawaysiren940.
I really liked how she used to word everything and her content really is what helped me feel more comfortable as a woman after I detransitioned.

I've been studying various wars and conflicts and it's become increasingly apparent that men have a vested interest in pretending that women do not suffer the most in war. The majority of deaths are civilian, and before death, the women are often raped and assaulted first. If they survive, they then have to deal with the cultural shame places upon them, and are often forced to hide what happened. They don't receive apologies or retribution for what they go through.
In World War II, Nazi Germany established brothels in the concentration camps (Lagerbordell, Sonderbauten or Freudenabteilungen "Joy Divisions") to increase productivity among male inmates.
In the end, the camp brothels did not produce any noticeable increase in the prisoners' productivity levels, but instead, created a market for coupons among the camp VIPs.
Here's a few of the locations where this happened:
Mauthausen/Gusen, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Neuengamme, Dachau, Dora-Mittelbau, Sachsenhausen, Flossenbürg and others
The women forced into these brothels came mainly from the women-only Ravensbrück concentration camp, except for Auschwitz, which "employed" its own prisoners.
In combination with the German military brothels in World War II, it is estimated that at least 34,140 female inmates were forced into sexual slavery during the Third Reich.
The brothels form the subject of "Das KZ Bordell" (The Concentration Camp Brothel) by Robert Sommer, a book that has been hailed as the first comprehensive account of a little known chapter of Nazi oppression in World War Two.
It explores the origins, structure and impact of the "Sonderbauten" (special buildings) run by Heinrich Himmler's SS in Germany and Nazi-occupied Europe.
"In the collective memory and written history of World War Two, the camp brothels were for a long time taboo," the 35-year-old Berliner told Reuters. "The former prisoners didn't want to talk about it: it was a difficult subject to handle."
"It didn't fit so easily into the postwar image of the concentration camps as monuments to suffering."
According to concentration camp survivors the women in those brothels were replaced every 6 months and the women who got replaced were killed in gas chambers.
It is important to note that we distinctively speak of sexual slavery here and of rape.
I wanted to point this out especially because I have been seeing liberal feminists talking about this topic, calling it "forced sex-work", "forced sex-labour" etc.
It is beyond disrespectful to call these female victims "sex-workers" or "employees" when their sexuality was brutally exploited, their diginities taken, their health was sacrificed, they were raped repeatedly and then executed after 6 months, even though they were promised to be released after those months. But those promises of course were never honored.
Liberal feminism and radical feminism differ a lot when it comes to views on the topic of prostitution but this does NOT excuse labeling victims of abuse and rape as "sex-workers" or calling their suffering "forced sex-labour."

I've gotten a few weird comments like this cause I use recipes as background footage, and often make meat based dishes. As you said, animals are different from humans, and it's very disrespectful to compare the widespread abuse of women to animal rearing practices. Yes, we can do better with how animals are treated for food production, and yeah, there's a branch of feminism that focuses on ecology, but that's not a requisite for being a radical feminist.
Why fight for the liberation of women and girls without including female animals? What is animal agriculture if not female exploitation?
Female nipples poured your cereal milk. Female ovaries laid your scrambled eggs. Female bodies birthed the meat on your table, and were likely raped to do so.
Or is forced insemination not rape if she's not human?

Of course, animals are different than humans but that doesn’t mean we can’t also extend compassion to them as well. I highly suggest you watch a documentary called ‘Dominion’ it’s free on YouTube!
I took several courses on ecology in college, and am fully aware of the brutalities livestock face. I completely support anyone who is vegan or vegetarian as a result (and I was vegetarian for eight years as well). It's just not right to compare those experiences to the ones women face, or to expect fellow feminists to include that in their activism. They overlap somewhat, in the same way that a whale activist's work will overlap with someone who's saving shrimp, but to focus entirely on animal welfare makes it not feminism anymore. Compassion doesn't mean you have to compare the experiences to female human ones, or expect to see those issues centered in another movement.
