Este @rivieredumat no es solo una marca, sino que es una destilería ubicada en la isla de Reunion, ubicada relativamente cerca de Madagascar, mientras que la destilería se ubica en el suroeste de la isla. Su especialidad es destilar a partir de melaza, aunque ellos la llaman melaza fresca y no he conseguido algo que me especifique qué es eso exactamente. . El ron es uno de los pocos de su marca que es de jugo de caña, añejado en barricas de limusín francés excognac hasta 6 años. Finalmente es embotellado a 40% de alcohol. . En nariz es típicamente agrícola, con aromas florales, vegetales, cáscara de naranja, vainilla, guayaba, jugo de caña y grama recién cortada. . En boca sorprende lo dulce que es, con notas fuertes de pasas, chocolate blanco, nueces y, nuevamente, vainilla. El aroma a cognac es mucho más notable luego de un rato aireándose y ayuda a pasar mejor esa sensación dulce o al menos a darle matices más de su origen y su barrica. Al final de estos sabores se siente algo como canela, que lo hace más complejo. El retrogusto destaca notas de jengibre, coco y nuez moscada, junto con esa misma sensación de cognac. . Como suele suceder con muchos rones, el sabor es mucho más fácil de determinar que de dónde viene y, salvo la inclusión de algunos nativos de Reunion en el equipo francés de fútbol, la verdad es que no he oído nada de este país. Pero sin duda hacen buen ron. . Yo le di 85 puntos.
