I think I figured out the issue with tumblr eating my posts, but let's find out.
Take it away Mr. Gold
Tumblr media
That's generous.
Tumblr media
And the way hes sitting on that chair?
And the amount of force hed have to use to keep moe pinned down just like that?
Man is strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's chaotic feral smile is so telling.
Tumblr media
His interrupting is a rumple style feral giggle and it was horrifying.
Tumblr media
He's had it, he's at the edge.
Okay so this scene? What he's yelling at moe? Dude you're yelling at YOURSELF!
"What are you talkin about my fault?" Rumple deep down knows. He knows he fucked up.
"You shut her out"
Moe has no fucking context to this non therapeutic beatdown.
Mr. Gold is yelling at rumple now, and since I'm sure masochism wasn't a big thing to air in 2011 that's what we're going with.
"YOU HAD HER LOVE AND YOU SHUT HER OUT"
This physically hurts me to hear, and I'm sure it physically hurts him to say.
"SHE'S GONE, SHE'S GONE FOREVER SHE'S NOT COMING BACK AND IT'S YOUR FAULT"
Maybe he ended up seeing a therapist after a millenia?
"NOT MINE, YOURS!"
Maybe not.
"YOU ARE HER FATHER!"
Moe still has no idea what the fuck Mr. Gold is beating him for some unknown child.
I love the fucking parallel of Gold beating Moe vs. Rumple beating the curio cabinet.
Tumblr media
He's still hurting so much he starts to hurl the tea set.
Tumblr media
But then he gets to that fucking chipped cup.
Tumblr media
He can't do it.

Okay this is kind of a three part question. How many WIPs in the works, do you have any idea's what's next after Golden Rings, and how many plot bunnies sitting in your head right now?
Right now my only official WIPs are Golden Rings, Nephila, and Her Angel. Those are my Uncompleted Works on AO3. I would like to finish up Her Angel, mostly just so I can be done with it. I know where I want to go with that story, but it’s not exactly burning up my brain.
I’ve thought a lot about which plot bunny I want to turn into a fic after Golden Rings. I can’t really decide on one, and it will be interesting to see if I gain more clarity about it over the course of the next year. When I say “plot bunny”, I really mean “what kink do I want people to realize they didn’t know they were into”.
Current “kink bunnies” include
Dark Mistress Dark One Belle AU, heavily inspired by @mrs-stiltskin‘s A Spinner in Chains. Basically, it’s Golden Cuffs--For Him! Spinner Rumple makes a deal with the Dark One. If she stops the ogres from attacking and saves his son, he will be her slave and plaything for the rest of time.
Forever Home An A/B/O fic where Belle is an omega who has been passed around from owner to owner without ever actually being bonded to an alpha. Gold works with an omega rehabilitation center, trying to legally rescue omegas from exploitation and help them integrate into mainstream society. He’s an alpha, and he sees it as his duty to help omegas without treating them like sex objects. (But does that mean he can’t fall in love with a certain omega who is intensely attracted to him?)
Princess Pink and Babydoll Blue This is the least formed of the main plot bunnies. The main idea is Gold as a Daddy Dom for a feminized Killian. (And by feminized, I mean that Killian wears a wig and dress and makeup strictly for play reasons and presents as typically male in his day-to-day life.) They have a pretty good dynamic, until Gold’s ex, Belle, shows up at a play party and Gold ignores Killian to be with her.
I’m not sure where I would want that fic to go. It could be the story of Gold the selfish asshole who neglects his relationship with Killian to pursue Belle and pressure her into a lifestyle and a commitment that she does not want (and Killian and Belle being bros and realizing that they don’t need Gold to live fulfilled, kinky lives.) Or it could be a happy story, where Gold realizes that he should be more flexible and respectful of his little ones’ different needs. Then all three of them can live polyamorously ever after.
Right now it’s down to those three. Thanks for asking! Let me know if anything sparks the imagination.
(I’m also planning a Halloween fic where Belle is a ghost haunting Gold and Bae’s house. It’s supposed to be a one shot, so I’ll try not to leave it on a cliffhanger.)

How Belle/the show should've handled Rumple's mental illnesses: 5 Do’s and Don’ts of Mental Illness | Psych2Go Magazine Department: psych2go(.)me/post/171033406252/dailypsychologyfacts-5-dos-and-donts-of-mental & daddy-stiltskin(.)tumblr(.)com/post/171633464996/rumplestiltskin-his-mental-illnesses-are-you
First of all, anon, I’m so so sorry for not answering sooner. First I was busy, then I was too tired to function, and then I was enjoying my newfound freedom from exams so much that I just forgot about answering messages. Once again, sorry!
This video is really interesting, and I’m really glad I saw it, for reasons that go beyond Ouat. That being said, I think Ouat’s problem is not just how characters handled Rumple’s mental illnesses, but how the show always failed to acknowledge those illnesses in the first place.
They repeatedly said in interviews that Rumple is addicted to magic, but at the same time they were more than happy to portray him as doing bad things just because he enjoys it (I’m looking at you, S4 and 5x11).
They played the “asshole” and “mentally ill” cards whenever they wanted, just to suit the plot, and the result was the inconstant characterization, especially in that clusterfuck that was S4. Of course, the events of S3 could have perfectly explained his backslide in S4, and I’m the first to think that he wouldn’t have behaved that way if Neal had been alive and Zelena had stayed in Oz, but the problem is that the show never straight out gave us an explanation for his change. They should have either portrayed him as a desperate man recovering from a terrible trauma (and making shitty decisions because of that) or as an unrepentant villain who just wasn’t willing to change. They never chose one narrative thread because they wanted both Rumbelle and villain!Rumple (because they don’t know how to make the story work if Rumple is on the good side). They wanted to have their cake and eat it too.
Now, one clever way around that would have been to keep Rumple’s shady behavior in S4, and then have the “surprise reveal” that he was nothing but a grieving man desperately trying to cope with an illness nobody could see. Suddenly the audience would have been aware that they didn’t see his illness just as the other characters didn’t, and the lack of psychological depth in S4 would have taken a completely different meaning.
Alas, Ouat really isn’t good at dealing with trauma. Or psychology. Or sensitive topics in general.

I want to be on the side that agrees that Belle was being sarcastic when she said that Rumple succeeded into having Gideon in this path (Belle was the one who wanted that) but then they have Rumple defending himself. What is your take on that?
Belle was the one who wanted what?
I’m not going to get into a “who was right” quibble over Rumbelle, because they have both misinterpreted situations and screwed up, but I will say this: I think Belle genuinely believed Rumple when he said he likes the darkness and that he therefore would want his son to emulate that in him: strength, power...they aren’t unattractive qualities, but in these two Stiltskin men they seem to go hand-in-hand with darkness. “I LIKE darkness.” Remember that line from Rumple in the Season 5 finale? Well, he spent all of 6A trying to live it out and he failed miserably. He loves his wife, he loves his son, and he ultimately cannot be the Big Bad he claims he wants to be. This is evidenced quite clearly by his backing down on using the sands on Belle to speed up her pregnancy.
Belle, meanwhile, is jaded and upset about committing a colossal mistake that led to her son being tortured for 28 years by the black fairy, the same witch that basically left her husband for dead. So I don’t think Belle is feeling super judgmental right now and I really don’t think that comment about Rumple succeeding was sarcasm. I took it as bewilderment. I think Belle feels like Rumple is getting what he said he wanted--a son that will love him no matter what choices he makes--and it’s actual news to her that Rumple wants something different and better for his son’s future. And I don’t mean a life without his father, I mean a life of goodness and happiness, just as he wanted for Bae: “When Baelfire rejected my magic I respected him for it.” However, if you look at Rumple’s actions over the course of Season 6--the entrapment on the Jolly Roger, the magical cuff, the encounters with the Evil Queen, threats to use the shears to cut away Gideon’s destiny--it’s not odd that Belle would believe that Rumple wants a kind of mini me in Gideon. But no, Rumple wants Gideon to choose his own path. And he wants him, I think, to be a good man. A good man who loves his father and his mother.
Poor Gideon’s logic is so twisted: I am a hero and therefore I will kill the savior and become the savior myself? You can see the conflict raging within him and it’s fascinating. He has Belle’s instincts to be a hero as well as her mercy (he couldn’t hit his father and is in TOTAL DENIAL that he loves his daddy), he has Rumple’s anger, pain and power, and he has both of their intelligence and stubbornness. We have a living, breathing physical manifestation of Rumbelle running around Storybrooke and it’s gonna be damn interesting to watch this play out.
