An update and RUMBLE WEEKEND!!

Hey everyone!

Its been a long time since I've posted to this blog but that's because I've been buisy getting life stuff sorted! My post-grad work is chugging along, I got a new job in my field and I'm learning to drive about 10 years late! But I've been playing a ton of pokemon in the mean time! I've got some full odds hunts in generations 3 and 4 on the go to get some fun playthroughs in before bank shuts down (Maybe in April?).

My luck with full odds hunting has been atrocious until the day of writing this post though. I've put the gen 3 hunt on hold because I was overcome with an urge to play Platinum again and do some pokeradar chaining so I expanded out to 3 consoles and took up soft resetting for Wimpod on the side in Sun.

Unfortunately I passed odds on Wimpod and a soft reset caused my 2DS to freak out and delete the entire game install, fortunately I was juuust in the time window to redownload it from the eShop so I'll pick it back up again some day! Until then though, the hunt for Chimchar continues.

I've also been slowly building up a collection of retro junk that's fun to tinker with! Meet my new CRT and VHS setup! (I'll get a tv unit for it the second I find an era appropriate one!)

While we're on the topic of retro tech, let me tell you about my favorite latest project! My roomie had a spare wii that he didn't want so I took it, soft-modded it and dressed it up in a pretty see through shell!

I've been using this puppy to catch up on all of the gamecube and wii games I've missed, mostly Colosseum, Gale of Darkness and Resident Evil stuff! However there is one other thing I've been loving~ Pokemon Rumble and its fan mod, Weekend Edition! The mod adds in gen 2 and 3 pokemon that were missing from the base game and there's even a roughly quarterly shiny hunting event called Rumble Weekend where you only hunt in Rumble! The odds are roughly the same as the gen 3 and 4 games (1/8192) but the encounters fly by so fast that shinies feel relatively common.

I participated for the first time this weekend and after only an hour or so of playing I had my first two Rumble Weekend shinies!!

I wanna try and play more next Rumble weekend but I'm so happy to finally break my shiny drought with two gen 3 gems!! I plan on posting more now that I'm transitioning to a new job with a much less chaotic schedule, see y'all around! <3

THIS WEEKEND IS RUMBLE WEEKEND

POKEMON RUMBLE WEEKEND EDITION is mod of Pokemon Rumble on Wiiware that adds more generations of Pokemon to the game! You can find a link to download it, a video full of fun info, and encounter tables here. And yes, you can even download and run the game on a real Wii or Wii U!

The weekend is all about finding shinies!! Essentially, you run around until a shiny appears. Even if you don’t know all the shiny colors, the Pokemon will also be sparkling.

The bosses can also be shiny! WOW! A heads up tho, to get to the new content you’ll have to beat the game (but you can also just hunt in the original levels).

Max hadn't said a word about it in all the time it took them to get there - not the long row across the lake, not the longer walk to the main road, not the endless trek that finally brought them to the seedy little motel - and for that, Laura loved him more than she had yesterday (if such a thing were possible).

When she'd given him a tight smile and looked away, he hadn't asked questions either; he'd gone into the motel himself, gotten their room key, and joked, "Shoulda seen the eyes that guy was giving me! You better watch out, hun, I think you've got competition," as he made a show of tugging her sweatshirt to cover his belly - she loved him even more then (if a person could love that much).

And when she'd gotten into the bathroom, her plan to take a long, hot, much-needed shower knocked off its tracks by the sight of herself in the mirror, all it took was that one extra moment of silence before he'd joined her there, holding her close despite how awful she looked, how terrible she must've smelled. It all came crashing down in a wave then, every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week they'd lost, and she scrambled - desperate - trying to ignore the tears already rolling down her cheeks as she only half-jokingly said, "I know I look bad, but...you should really see the other guy." She'd watched in the mirror as his arms only tightened and his lips found the spot behind her ear, already hushing her, telling her it was all right, reminding her that they were free, and as her tears fell, washing the grime and blood and fear and regret from where it had all stained her cheeks, Laura loved him more, more, more than anyone had ever loved anyone else.

That she knew for sure.

Councillor Bronte presentation

Hello, my name is Axel. This presentation is on the arc and development of Councilor Bronte from the book series Keeper of the Lost Cities. Most of Bronte's arc happens between books 1 Keeper of the Lost Cities, book 2 Exile, and book 3 Everblaze, but other books still develop him so each slide will be about a book from the series.

Note: I couldn’t get the slideshow to work, it kept glitching out the pictures so I took screen shots of the slides, the last two and first slide are typed because I think you can only have ten pictures per post. There also are not many pictures besides the title slide because I couldn’t get them to work with the text, and if I did you couldn’t see the font even after changing the color.

Book 8.5 and 9: Unlocked and Stellarlune

Bronte is in very few scenes in these two books, he was mentioned in Unlocked after Sophie asked if Bronte would know how to open the cache, and in Stellarlune he was in one of the cache scenes in Kenric's cache.

Conclusion

To summarize Bronte's arc takes him from the first two books and the first half of Everblaze where he is an antagonist to Sophie, and opposes her. To slowly becoming one of her strongest allies and someone she relies on later in the series.

Just understood that my attraction to men maybe probably is actually gender envy. Like, yes, darling, I adore your looks because I want to look like that. For example, there's this guy at work that I find very attractive. And I absolutely don't care for his personality. Which is very weird for me, as I usually experience romantic attraction after a certain period of friendship, I just have to be friends with a person to start thinking of them as a potential lover. Why do I like this guy then? Well, the answer is very simple: I want to be him. I want to have a body like his, I want to have hands like his, I want to have legs like his, I want to have a deep low voice like his, I want to be able to laugh like he does, I want to look like him. I want to be him. I don't think of him as a romantic interest. I don't wanna talk to him, to get to know him, to hug him, to kiss him, no. It doesn't concern me. The body does. And each time I look at him, I feel that deep disgusting soul wrenching pain: I am not him. And what's funny is that it's not the first time. I had other guy "crushes" in high school. And it always was the same, a very particular type I very much cared about, because I wanted to look like that, to be that.

But I was born in a wrong body. I look very much different. I'm a transgender. I even feel like a was mistaken, like I am a mistake. I think, that I'm capable of loving men and their personality. I think, that I'm bisexual, but until the moment I'm fully transitioned, I'll never be able to truly love a man, as I will be always envious of him.
