so, i'm raka. i've lurked around the internet for a little while now--since I was about five. restricted internet access? don't know her. i only started really participating in online communities when i was about 10, on quotev and amino (rip, it was a shitshow but i had a good time for the most part). at some point i just kinda...fell off of trying to find internet spaces? it didn't really feel fun anymore, y'know? i went back to lurking, looking at stuff i enjoyed/making things in silence.

well, fuck that. if i wanna have fun, i'm gonna make it fun. i love drawing, i always have!! i've been drawing since i was about five or six. it's always been an escape for me during REALLY rough times--it made me happy to draw my favorite characters, and even create my own! i love interacting with fandom spaces too, finding folks who are into the same stuff i am. connecting with strangers is fun, when you don't really know anybody irl who shares your exact interests!

If you asked any human in the city about the old apartment building, they'll tell you it's been abandoned for years. Rumor has it the place is haunted, and no one feels like upsetting a bunch of spirits by demolishing it, so it remains standing. A feeling of Something being wrong lingers around the area, and many claim to have seen a horned figure patrolling the roof. Between that and the generally unwelcoming exterior, most humans stay away. But to the synths of the area, this place is a safe haven.

The interior is a stark contrast to the exterior. What once was the lobby has been converted into a strange sort of living room. Although it's all been cleaned thoroughly, it's obvious the furniture was grabbed from various garbage piles around the city. The bookshelves are filled with everything from children's picture books to technical manuals. Bizarre, alien technology is messily embedded in the walls, supplying power and extra structural integrity to the old building. Usually, a pink-haired synth dressed in green can be found cleaning around the area, happily welcoming anyone new.

Just up the stairs are the apartments, most hardly different from any other apartment. The only truly noticeable differences are the boarded windows and the large charging stations in each bedroom, made from the same technology keeping the power running. Only a few of these apartments have permanent residents. Most only stay here a short time before either returning home or escaping somewhere far away. But they'll always be welcome if they choose to return. That's why the Vipperloids made this place into what it is. They know better than anyone how terrible the world can be to their kind, and they don't want anyone else to feel as hopeless they did. Every synth deserves a place to feel safe, even if only briefly.

Avatar Review: 1x09 The Waterbending Scroll

Schoolwork has been a bitch, but now I’m on break, so I get to go back to watching this amazing show!

Here’s something I hadn’t noticed from the intro - why does Katara refer to the avatar as ‘he’? Sure, maybe it’s easier for viewers to keep track of, seeing as Aang is male, but Katara hasn’t met Aang when she’s saying this (I think, seeing as it’s pretty much identical to what she said in the first episode). We know there are female avatars, and she is the only bender she’s every met - wouldn’t ‘they’ make more sense from a character perspective?

‘If we hit a bump-’ a bump? You’re in the air, what are you talking about? Do you regularly collide with birds or something?

Why hasn’t Katara already started teaching Aang waterbending? It seems like something she’d enjoy

Forgotten how great the art style is, coming back to it is 🥰🥰🥰

Zuko being an angsty munchkin again. Par for the course, I see

Actually, an interesting point - we’ve seen Zuko and Iroh travel by land before - where does their boat go if there wasn’t a water passage?

Katara, c’mon, you could just ask Aang for the scroll. He wouldn’t say no, he’s your friend!

Well that line from Zuko was... offputting. ‘I’ll save you from the pirates’ while grabbing her? Zuko, you are better than this!

Katara has successfully lampshaded Zuko somehow getting her necklace, so now we shall move one

Priorities, Sokka

Sokka and Aang are surrounded by pirates, one of them storms Zuko, and then they’re all just gone?

And then more jump in front of them before anything happens? What was the point of having then disappear, then?

What, so now they’re stealing the boat? Guys, you have a flying bison

Wait. That’s what that whistle is going to be for, isn’t it?

Aang, there is a sail. Airbend

Katara, this is a boat. Waterbend

So now Aang gets to save them with waterbending? Come on, couldn’t that have been a moment for Katara?

Oh, it is. Never mind

Still annoying how much better Aang is at waterbending is, though

A waterfall? I though you had just left the waterfall? Or is this another one? Because this episode seemed to imply that they were fairly close to the sea

Oh look. It’s Appa. Such flute. Much wow

So, why didn’t Appa come the first time Aang blew that whistle, back at the village?

What do you mean ‘I still owe you an apology’? You did apologise. Profusely!

Well, good to know that episode had no lasting consequences whatsoever

Thoughts:

It’s nice to get back into the swing of things with this show. That’s being said, this one was probably my second least favourite after the retarded Bumi episode (it’s a long jump up, though). I feel like I could have skipped this, and I don’t miss anything. The only thing that actually happened was they got the scroll, and seeing as they are going somewhere to learn waterbending, I don’t feel like this scroll is actually going to matter. Hell, the scroll could have been given to them by the village last episode for stopping the spirit monster - this episode didn’t need to happen at all! Definitely filler. Mildly entertaining filler, but still-

My Life as a Job Seeker (5) pt. 1

Pengalaman interview ketiga itu sama anak perusahaan startup e-commerce dari luar. Sempet engga nyangka kalo lulus di sini tanpa ba-bi-bu, ditelpon sekarang, lusanya cus interview. Sesi ke 1 di interview sama 2 orang bagian HR, 1 orang bagian pemasaran, 1 lagi ku rasa slightly kaya psikolog.

Interview jam 9, aku jam 8 kurang udah nyampe sangking takutnya telat, macet, dan ada hal-hal unpredictable lainnya. Sampai di tempatnya itu komplek ruko yang luas, dan kantornya itu adalah ruko 3 tingkat yang masih baru, polos dengan fitur seadanya. Kesan pertama aku, "oh, mungkin kalo di hire di sini disuru desain kantor supaya lebih menarik". Aku malah ngitung keramik dan mikir luas lantai kira-kira berapa m2.

Ga cuma aku, ada 8 orang cewe lainnya dan 1 orang cowo yang nunggu bareng aku. Pas kami nunggu, karyawan front officenya cuman mempersilahkan duduk terus dia main mobile legend. Mancap.

8.45an, 4 orang yang pertama nyampe dipersilahkan interview, termasuk aku. Interview di lt.3. Di lt.2 juga masi kosong cuma ada 1 karyawan yang kerjanya desain bangunan. (Eh, ini bukannya startup yak?)

Pas interview kenalan sama 4 orang yang aku bilang di atas. Langsung dikasi intro perusahaan sama mba yg kayanya dia manager HRnya atau sesuatu lah, sebut aja Mba Ani. Dia ngomong bahasa inggris, dan langsung nyuru kami memperkenalkan diri. Interviewnya 1 pertanyaan dan disuru kami untuk jawab secara bergantian. Pertanyaan masih terbilang standar, tapi ya aku engga expect apa-apa kaya biasa.

Sampe akhirnya kita ditanya mba Ani , "Any question about (insert company name)? Or anything related this position? You are the candidates of management trainee program so we will start as soon as possible."

Aku nanya, "I'm trying to get any information related this company and the stakeholder but I didn't find anything in Google except the job vacancy in various sites. So there's no profile company sites we can look up?".

Mba Ani, "Yes. Our website still on maintenance. We will launch it asap as you ready and confirm to join our company and maybe you can contributed build them?"

Aku, "Oh. I see. That's why it's kinda hard to know more and I didn't know what should I read when I come to this interview except the description below the job vacancy that I applied. Hehe" (hmm kok bisa-bisanya buka cabang perusahaan tingkat website aja belum punya? Buat instagram akun kek, apa kek)

Mba Ani, "Yes. We put little description about our company in that job vacancy sites. Anyone else, any question?"

Terus cewe di kiri aku yang bahasa inggrisnya kaya aer nanya masalah penempatan, benefit, asuransi, hari cuti, dsb. Detail pokonya. Gils. Ini orang intelek bet.

Sekitar 15menit interview, kami keluar dan selesai. Feeling aku, aku lulus sih. Aku dan cewe di kiri aku lulus. Tapi 2 lagi kayanya engga. Terus aku langsung turun ke bawah dan cabut ke Transmart.
