A helping hand.

A/N: You can tell when this was meant to come out... anyway, sorry again for the delay but I'm finally settled in the house now and will be getting the last requests out when I can :)

Christmas.

The most wonderful time of the year.

Supposedly, anyway.

Yours seemed more stressful than usual this year though; between worrying about money, what presents to get people on your tighter budget, and how you were going to organise Christmas this year between the two families you had very little to smile about. The festive cheer had certainly evaded you so far and it was already the beginning of December.

“Right, Jane’s said she’s not doing presents this year which should give us some wiggle room for others,” you sigh, having just received the fortuitous text message.

You look down to the notebook which had a list of names and the gift ideas next to them, then cross her name out with a relieved huff and look over to where Rufus sits tapping away on his phone enthusiastically. A grin spreads across his tired looking face and he suddenly meets your gaze with wide, excited eyes.

“I know this is super last minute but look at this!”

He jumps from the armchair to the seat next to you on the sofa with a bounce and thrusts his phone under your nose for you to see the email that had got him so riled up, then you make out the main words that make your heart sink a little; fly out to France for two nights, back on Christmas eve.

“Oh… Wow… It’s, uh… a great opportunity.”

“So it’ll be a week in total what with rehearsals in London…” he grins, “but this is amazing!”

“A week?” you repeat, having missed that part of the email completely, “but we’ve got so much to do before the big day…”

“It’ll be fine,” he says with a wave of his hand, “don’t worry! I’ll do what I can before all this, and I promise you’ll have the bare minimum to do after.”

You give him a nod and a smile but you knew Rufus too well by now, and he wasn’t exactly the most organised of humans, in fact he was quite simply the complete opposite and regularly left most things until the last second. His attention turns back to the device in his hands as he excitedly types his reply back to this thrilling event he’d been invited to, and you can’t help but feel a heavy sensation in your stomach at the thought of the next couple of weeks.

It was edging ever closer to the big day when Rufus finally appears from the stairwell just as you place your plate in the sink and grab the reusable bags from the side, “you ready?”

He briefly looks up from his phone with a questioning brow, “for what?”

“Christmas shopping, silly! You said we’d get it done today while you’re still here.”

“Shit, of course, yeah, I’ve just gotta meet Danny in town and then I’m all yours, I promise.”

“But…”

He gives your cheek a fleeting kiss then shrugs his jacket on, “I’ll meet you at the shops, I’ll phone you when I’m done!”

With that, he disappears out of the front door, leaving you with the bags gripped firmly in your grasp, your fingers tightening with anger as you stare at the door he’d only just exited seconds before. You knew this was going to happen and yet you couldn’t help feeling disappointed that it had.

“Hmph,” you huff, grabbing your handbag and deciding to do this by yourself instead.

Your mind is a jumble of emotions as you walk around the shops picking up bits for everyone; on one hand you knew that Rufus couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this, yet on the other you wished he didn’t let it totally consume him, especially now with it being so close to Christmas and you needing help with the preparations for it. You eye yet another bath set for your mum and place it down in the trolley in front of you with a sad sigh before making your way to the checkout and checking your phone for a call you knew wouldn’t be coming.

It’s late when you finally get home and you can see the lights on inside indicating that someone was already there, so you trudge up the path with your hands full of heavy bags and give the door a couple of taps with your foot.

“Babe!” he grins when he opens up to find you standing there, “let me take some of those.”

He grabs a couple from each hand and you follow him inside, pushing the front door shut with your elbow as you watch his familiar blonde ponytail disappear into the lounge.

“Busy day then, huh?” you say quietly, trying to keep your anger from bubbling over.

He pouts as he lowers the bags carefully to the floor, leaning them up against the sofa, “I’m so sorry, everything took longer than expected and then we got something to eat and I knew you’d be done by the time we got out of there so I just-”

You can’t help but scoff at his answer; you were already enraged and his bumbling excuse about going for dinner rather than helping you tipped you over the edge, “I can’t do this,” you shrug, dropping the bags with a thud and turn to walk away.

“Can’t do what? Where are you going?!” he worries.

“You said you were going to call and meet me in town to help with all this,” you reply, spinning around and gesturing to the bags scattered across the floor, “you said that before you had to fly off you’d make sure you could help me so that I had the minimum amount left before Christmas.”

“I know, and I’m sorry! What about tomorrow?”

“No,” you reply sternly, “no. I have a job too you know, and it’s our busiest time of the year as well, but no, don’t worry about me, I’ll just sort the presents, the food, the budget that’s required a hell of a lot of adjusting this year…”

“That’s why I’m doing this! I know we need the money, so that’s yet another reason why I agreed to it!” he reaches out for you but you step backwards and shake your head.

“I appreciate that, I really do, but I also just really needed your help today. It wasn’t like you were being paid to go eat after the meeting was it? Ru, I’m exhausted, and I’ve got work in the morning, and I’m going to have to do everything else without you when you jet off again, so I genuinely really did need you today.”

“I’m sorry,” he sighs morosely.

You sniff a little before pinching the bridge of your nose in frustration, “so am I,” you whisper, once more turning towards the door and heading out to your car.

“Where are you going?” he asks, attempting to grab onto the vehicle door as you shut it.

“My parent’s place.”

“What?! Why?!”

“I need to cool off.”

You hastily put the car into reverse and make your exit as quickly as you possibly can without seeing the hurt in the eyes of the man you love. As soon as you get onto the main road you regret it but you have to stand your ground and reluctantly continue the short journey to your parent’s house in a stony silence, not even the radio uttering a note. Once you turn into your parent’s road you park up and sit in the quiet that had accompanied you on the entire journey as your mind whirs with regret and sadness.

“Fuuuck,” you whisper as your forehead connects with the steering wheel.

The engine is still running as you roll your head from side to side slowly until eventually you make the decision to turn straight back around and head home. The last thing you wanted was for Rufus to leave while you were in the middle of a disagreement so you knew you had to make things right even though you did want to stand your ground about the matter.

You open the front door slowly and carefully once you get back, not wanting to make your appearance known straight away, but Rufus soon comes bounding down the stairs as soon as you shut the door behind you and his lips land on yours in a desperate kiss.

“I didn’t think you were going to come back,” he whispers breathlessly between kisses, “I’m so glad you’re here.”

He cups your jaw delicately yet firmly as he presses his lips on and around your mouth while your fingers weave into his blonde hair with ease, “I’m sorry,” you manage to mumble when his lips move.

He pulls away with a slight frown, “I’m sorry,” he sighs, “I didn’t mean to be such a selfish asshole, I wasn’t thinking, I-” you cut him off with another kiss.

“It’s okay, do you wanna apologise here, or upstairs?”

There’s a moment where he processes what you’re saying, then his eyebrows lift as his lips turn up into a smile, “upstairs.”

What was better than a day at the races? An afternoon in the studio with your best friend. While Rufus decided to drop out of high school when he was only sixteen, you remained in school. Meeting the Taylor kids you were still only in elementary school was a big deal for you; your parents were normal non-famous people, becoming friends with Lily unknowing of her parents status meant that you did not care for their money or their fame, it meant that when you became friends with Rufus too it was for the laughter and the amazing time you had whenever you would all do something together.

Your father being an accountant and your mother a psychologist turned housewife, you had little aspirations for anything other than a university degree at age twelve. When Rufus showed you he could go chase after his wildest dreams, your young mind decided you would follow suit! Rufus, being four years older than you, was surprised - as everyone who’d heard you say you wanted to become a doctor was when you had your mother take you to acting and singing classes. By the time you were sixteen you had already played some minor roles in big productions, you had your own tutor and a real sense of what you wanted to do next with your life and career. You attended Brit School and enjoyed your time there while you continued working and moving towards television and film, until graduating and deciding on skipping uni altogether as you were already working and getting recognition from the media and audiences.

“Is that right?” Frankie made you look at him as he spoke, looking over his shoulder as Rufus laughed in silence, a deep red shade painting his usually pale ears.

“Shut it!” You complain, with a smile too wide to seem annoyed.

It was well known by Rufus’ bandmates that you had a thing for each other, although neither one of you had acted on it.

“Alright, kids, keep it classy,” Justin says as he stood from the piano bench and left, Dan followed and then Frankie, nodding towards you and then winking at Rufus.

You went to the drum set and put your hands on your waist, looking around at the different drums and cymbals.

“See anything you like?” Rufus cocked a brow.

You shrugged.

“Looks shiny.”

This makes Rufus laugh from the little seat behind the drums. He smiled at you and twisted his drumsticks between his fingers as he offered them to you.

“Wanna give it a go?” He asked.

You took the drumsticks from his hands and watched as he stood for you to take a seat behind the large drum kit. Apparently, you had to put one foot on the bass drum pedal and hit it without stopping, which proved rather difficult as Rufus kept laughing at you.

He told you how to hit it and what to do with the drumsticks, showing you some easy moves, although soon enough you complained that you were losing the beat.

“It’s...I’m losing it, I’m losing it!” You called out with your eyes focused on the snare and tom-toms.

“Yeah,” he paused, “you lost it.”

With a couple more attempts at playing for longer than five seconds without skipping a beat or forgetting to kick the bass drum altogether, Rufus huffed loudly, a smile still present on his face as he rolled his eyes and dropped his jacket on the couch on the opposite side of the large room.

“I am so done with you,” he made a gesture with his hands and pulled you up by the hands. “Come on, you have to at least be able to play something!”

Rufus took a seat on the stool as you stepped back. You waited with patience, he thought about it for a moment, turning the drumsticks in his hands while the wheels turned in his head. At last, he got it. The perfect song to teach you, something typically rock and roll and easy. Something classy and cool - for his classy and cool girl friend.

“Okay, okay… pay attention, come over back here and watch the bass drum, the rest is super easy.”

You let out a single laugh and wiped your palms on the sides of your midi dress. The fact was that while you stood behind him and watched how he played you felt the all-too-familiar teenage butterflies flapping their wings around in your belly, worst of all? “I don’t think you’ve got the rhythm, Y/N,” the blonde drummer mocked.

You rolled your eyes and felt your hair fall on your eyes as it was free from any hair tie today.

“Give me a day, I swear I’ll get this down.” You blew on your h/c hair to get it off your face and smiled up at him, still hitting the drums, “easy!”

Rufus laughed at you and retired back to the couch, listening as you tried your best at keeping that bass drum going. He sat back on the sofa facing you and struggled with his breath as he stared at your focused expression. You were damn pretty, he knew that. It was clear that you were cute when you were a child, but during your teenage years cute dialed up and turned into pretty and now entering your twenties it was more than just that. Rufus thought you actually had it after you managed to play the transition from the chorus to the verse, hitting the right drums and reaching to the right and back to your simple snare, snare, cymbal, like it was nothing.

You smiled at yourself and kept on playing, getting a little excited you stopped and started over, this time Rufus leaned forward on his seat at the sound of your voice.

“She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean, she was the best damn woman I had ever seen…” you sang over the sound of the drums.

“Are we moving on to singing too?” Rufus cocked a brow.

You laughed out loud and lost the beat, effectively too overcome with joy to produce anything worthwhile on Rufus’ drums.

“Fuck yeah!” You stuck your tongue out at Rufus and hit random drums in a careless manner, catching the blonde’s attention.

You let your hair fall around your shoulders and over your face as you mimicked a move you often saw drummers do, hitting every single drum in sight in an increasingly louder way, ending it by throwing your hands up in the air with the drumsticks pointing at the ceiling.

Rufus clapped, amused at your childlike joy and admiring how damn hot you looked while doing the goofiest of things - not even sounding good but owning it, which was what counted really.

“I have to admit, this should be a fun thing to do on the regular.” You sat the drumsticks back on top of the tom-toms and stood up to go up to your friend on the couch. “It feels liberating.”

You stood from seat signaling the others in your party to do the same and said, “I’ll speak with my lawyers about paying you back the money my schooling cost anything other than that you’ll have to talk to my father about it.”

“We’ve warm rehearsal later,” Roger reminded gently, “Last concert and all.”

You gave the father and son a nod before going to the table where the group of girls are sitting. And as promised autographs and photos were taken and given before heading out.

A/N: Smut ahead.

Your eyes wander from the television screen to the small furry face looking up at you from the dog bed, and you roll your eyes with a tut.

Your heart is racing as you sit up and fumble around for your phone to check the time, and when you see it’s past one in the morning you decide to finally give up and head to bed instead of attempting to force yourself to stay awake. You laugh aloud before rolling onto your back so you can see him properly, then you place your hands on his cheeks and take in the sight of his handsome face properly, “I wouldn’t dream of it,” you smile softly.

He leans over to your side of the bed and clicks the lamp on then you both stare in wonder at one another for a while, the soppy grins on your faces making you both giggle like giddy teenagers. You needed this time to take in each other’s appearance in person after such a long time apart; you’d seen each other through screens of course, but nothing could come close to the sheer joy of being together again in person, and it was your moment to notice all the subtle little changes in the other.

“You look tired,” you sigh gently, sweeping your thumbs beneath the dark shadows of his eyes.

“I’m fucking shattered,” he laughs, “but I’m finally home and I couldn’t be happier.”

You bring his face down to yours until your lips meet in a long awaited kiss then he moves over so that his body is hovering above yours, and your arms wrap around his torso, needing to feel the familiar comfort of his body weight that you’d missed so dearly over the last few weeks. Hands wander, the covers are displaced as your bodies wriggle around underneath them to switch positions every now and again, and short pants are the only noise when your lips reluctantly part for breath.

“Don’t you want to sleep?” you question as he lifts the hem of your top and pulls it up over your head.

He shakes his head from side to side, “nah, not yet… do you?”

His lips trail open mouthed kisses from your neck to your chest and you melt beneath his touch, “nope, not now I don’t.”

His tongue laps at your skin to remember the taste of home which consisted mainly of a sweet cocoa thanks to your body lotion, and he works his way further down your body until you’re able to slip your hand underneath his chin and lift his head to look at you.

“Are you okay?” he asks, his face now full of concern at you interrupting him.

“More than okay,” you reassure, “I think you should make your way back up here though.”

He moves back up your body leaving quick pecks as he does, then you carefully guide him onto his back and watch as his golden hair falls onto the pillow to reveal his beautiful face in all its glory. You give him a heartfelt kiss before mirroring the actions he took with you until you reach his boxers, and with one swift movement you hook him out of the underwear and place your lips on the tip of his hardening length.

“Oh, woah woah,” he groans, his entire body on fire thanks to the lack of intimate touch from you recently.

He briefly lifts his head to look down as your mouth moves lower, but he soon falls back onto the pillow with a loud moan of your name as you begin to bob your head up and down along his shaft, hollowing out your cheeks with each enthusiastic suck. It didn’t matter that it was almost four in the morning, he deserved the attention after such a long time away, and you were definitely more awake now thanks to him.

“I’ve been dreaming about this,” he exhales with stuttered breaths.

You hum in agreement with him and it jolts his overly sensitive body, bucking his hips into you and causing you to gag a little. He looks down apologetically but you simply give him a wink to let him know you were okay, and when you hear his pants increase in frequency you know he’s already close to letting go. You couldn’t blame him, you were feeling as though you could quite easily orgasm even though there was nothing directly stimulating you, and when he eventually spills across your tongue you find yourself moaning along with him at the sensation of it all.

“How are you feeling?” you sigh as you crawl back up to the pillow and flop down on it.

He stares at the ceiling in an elated stupor for a moment before smiling to himself and blowing a puff of air from his lips, “better than ever.”

You settle back into covers as you had done before he got here while he briefly leaves to clean up, but when he returns he’s quick to press his body against your back and wrap his arms around your frame, and you let out a contented sigh as you place your hand on his.

“So did you miss me?” he enquires softly, squeezing you to him.

“Not as much as that little furry fella out there, and I guarantee that you missed him more than you missed me,” you chuckle.

There’s a momentary pause as Rufus stares at the back of your head with a frown then he shakes his head, “he’s cute, but not as cute as you are.”

You wriggle around in his embrace until you’re facing him, “you’re only saying that because of what just happened,” you tease.

His lips turn up into that roguish smile that makes your heart race, “what just happened is simply a bonus to loving you,” he runs his fingers through your hair tenderly, “wow, it really is good to be home.”

• “I Want It All” features a longer-than-usual improvised intro, with Brian's guitar mirroring Adam's vocals, and vice versa.

“The Rock legends Queen founding members guitarplayer Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor with keyboarder Spike Edney, Rufus Tiger Taylor , Rogers son on percussion, Neil Fairclough on bass and the charismatic vocalist Adam Lambert did it again and rocked Munich for nearly 3 Hours with 14000 fans. When they entered the stage at 8:15 PM , the curtain fell down and the journey through all great classic songs from Queen began. The Sound and stage design was fantastic and the band enjoyed it a lot to play in Munich again, the town, where they recorded some albums and spent a long time in the 70s and early 80s . Adam did a great job to replace the one and only Freddie Mercury ( R.I.P.) Between the songs, Roger and Rufus, father and son, did a great drum battle and Brian played some of his fantastic guitar solos, as well, they choose the intimate alternate stage in the crowd and did some unplugged tunes. After Bohemian Rhapsody with Freddie singing too via video, We will rock you and We are the champions including 10000´s of golden glimmers in the air, the show ended and believe me or not—Queen are back to enter the throne for the best band in the world.”
