The Route 66 Half Marathon Ruck on Sunday was a fun experience, and I'm so proud of my fellow ruckers for Rucking the Route! 40 total finished the Half Marathon and 3 total finished the Full Marathon with 1 capturing the Ultra option! Well done, y'all!!! Unfortunately, I had to drop at 8.13 miles at 41st & Riverside due to serious and escalating pain in both feet. When I can't help but limp, it's time to call it to protect other joints and muscles. My mileage has been decreasing steadily, and 8 seems to be the current tollerable level. But no worries! Still had a great time, and looking forward to a mere 5k in an environment that doesn't seem to impact my feet: STAIRS!! The Tulsa Oiler's Arena Challenge is up next on February 5th!! This officially kicks off the training season for the upcoming 2020 Williams Route 66 Marathon. Between July 6 – 11, you'll ruck, run, or walk your first official training miles of the season no matter where you live. And best of all, it’s free! 1 Mile and 5k (3.1 miles) options are available. Your FREE registration includes a printable bib, printable finisher’s certificate, and access to our official Route 66 Marathon playlist that will make you feel like you’re pounding the pavement in Tulsa along with the Route 66 Marathon training crew.
