Who are the Party’s acnh dreamies, and did they get them? Also, do they have Happy Home Paradise?
Completely unrelated, but I’ve had the random urge to play animal crossing all week. And I’ve felt this weird connection to Isabelle. Strange. /s
(I’m so sad that I never got to play New Leaf, but I had a DSI instead of a 3DS so I couldn’t play any of the cool games 😔)
OHHH THIS ASK IS FOR MEEEE IT’S FOR ME!!!!!
i definitely think they have all their dreamies!!! dustin absolutely makes his own amiibos so i think he helps everyone get who they want. i also think he gets involved in a lot of discords and treasure islands so even for the 8 new villagers that didn’t have amiibos at the time, he def had a billion nmt and was very lucky with villager hunting lol. in terms of who their dreamies aaarrrrreeee…
mike: lucky, ankha, wolfgang!! i think those are the only 3 he super cares about and likes to have a rotation + enjoys villager hunting. he just vibes with whoever and isn’t super picky but i think he’s attached to the 3 i picked because he had them in new leaf and they’re his Friends.
will: ruby, coco, sasha, gaston, teddy!! i know that him being bunny coded is affecting my vision but i’m correct. he lovvveeeesss bunnies and i think he’d love ruby and coco so much bc they’re cute but also a little creepy looking so he’d feel bad for them. and i think gaston is so silly looking that he is obsessed with him. teddy is bc he reminds will of a real life walter :)
max: agent s, hazel, keaton, katt, bob!! quite a few but she’s definitely super picky. i think she hardcore judges villagers for being ugly but has also decided some “ugly” ones are so ugly they’re cute (hazel and katt) and they are her ride or die’s. she didn’t seek them out they sought Her and she vibes. definitely hits villagers she hates with a net and sends them hate mail even though that increases friendship with them lol. hates sheep villagers.
el: dotty, audie, pekoe, beardo, greta, scoot, tia, faith, dobie, papi!! obviously a full list but she went through and made sure she had one of each personality type and doubled up on her fave types (normal and peppy). she is def into aesthetics but also thinks some of them are funny!! like scoot with his hat and beardo (who reminds her of hop)
lucas: benjamin, lucky, daisy, butch, shep, cherry! truthfully i think he loves dogs and would have a whole dog island. the ones listed are his absolute faves and the other spots he kind of just rotates as necessary until he finds a personality combo that he likes!!
dustin: raymond, marshal, shino, sherb, zucker, merengue, julian, judy, roald, pietro!! sorry that he is the way he is. he sells villagers on the black market and then just puts them back in his town. it’s not my fault (it is).
2 me they all share a nintendo switch online family plan, so they all technically have hhd! i think mike, dustin, and el are the only ones who actually really play it tho. el tells will he would love it and will doesn’t listen but he might suddenly have another interest in acnh and specifically hhd starting in september 2023. who knows. (i know.)
also you didn’t ask but dustin and mike time travel. sorry about it!!!!

ROUND 1B! MATCH 4 OUT OF 8
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under the Cut:
Ruby Lucas:
she's cool, and a werewolf!
She's a red/big bad wolf combo, she's bi, she gets tragically underused like so many OUaT characters
She’s a werewolf :)
We first see her as Ruby in Storybrooke where she's initially depicted as a fun-loving flirt who spends her nights most likely in a bar while wearing revealing clothes that her grandma disapproves of (and is all in red. Absolutely everything). She lives with her grandma who runs a diner and that's where Ruby works. When Emma wakes up the sleeping town, she tries to leave Granny's and ends up helping in a case that Emma's working on by following her nose. That episode also has her backstory, but when we first see her as Red in the Enchanted Forest, she's confident and helpful and not afraid to use her lycanthropy. But the start of her story has her being an innocent young woman with a love for discovering the world and her boyfriend Peter (of Peter and the Wolf, I guess). She meets Snow while still living with her Granny in her cabin in the woods and takes her in. She's so hopeful - and then she turns into a werewolf and kills Peter (after they all thought he was the werewolf and had chained him to a tree). She is obviously quite traumatized by this and takes off with Snow. But that and her subsequent adventures gives her the growth she needs to be comfortable in her own skin, whether human or wolf. And, when the curse breaks completely, you can see the change in her - she would absolutely walk through fire to help Snow and the other good guys.
Another version where Red Riding Hood also ends up being the Big Bad Wolf. She eats her boyfriend which is sad but she falls in love with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz in like Season 5. Her red cloak is what keeps her in human form which I think is neat. When all the storybook characters are transported to the modern world, she runs a diner with Granny.
She's one of my favorite characters from Once Upon a Time. She's a cool Red Riding hood wolf girl who is bi and has seen like 3 of her love interests and her mother die. She slays very hard so I nominate her. (Also I used to have a crush on her as a kid)
VOTE RUBY LUCAS FROM ONCE UPON A TIME. SHE WAS IGNORED BY THE WRITERS SO MUCH SHE DESERVES THIS SO MUCH. QUEER ICON!!!
Ruby Rose:
She has a scythe that is also a high-impact sniper rifle.
She is literally just based on Red Riding Hood and she's such an amazing character holy heck
Red Riding Hood but with a gun. (Specifically a combination scythe/high-impact sniper rifle called Crescent Rose). Also she's gone through so much she deserves it. She's trying to save the world and keep going despite all the people she's lost. Grew up dreaming of being a hero who fights monsters. She knows life isn't a fairy tale and wants to make it better. Just went through a mental health arc where she had depression from trying to live up to her (presumed dead) mom and from her friend dying for the second time. Killed the Big Bad Wolf with her magic eye powers. Her sister is Goldilocks and her friends are Beauty and Snow White. also I love her <3
She’s the little red riding hood but also a powerful fighter with a massive fucking scythe that is also a sniper rifle and she’s so skrunkly and so gender. Also RWBY’s whole thing (well one of them) is that their characters are all inspired by pre-existing ones from older stories and Ruby’s the main character so like, poster child of ‘character based off [insert relevant fairytale here]’ so I think she deserves to at least get pretty far
Aesthetics, themes, meta, personality and raw coolness.
She is the main character of her show. The most common monster they fight is a type of wolf (its been a while since ive seen it). Her job is to hunt them down before they can eat her. this story is very much about failed fairy tales, many of the side character's inspired arcs end in failure, but (having not seen the most recent bits) Ruby is still going strong, and i really like her cape, rose petals, and use of a scythe.
She is THE RRH character of all time. She has a scythe that's also a gun and she has to be the hero because she's got super rare main character powers. She is my happy girl. Also her mom was Sleeping Beauty and her sister is Goldilocks, and she fights to stop Rapunzel from destroying everything on the world, the gods, and then herself.
Ruby as a character is literally based on little red riding hood! She has a red cape with a hood
the Red trailer is better propaganda than I could ever write
She is a badass with a scythe, inspired by her uncle and fueled by her mother's death and her sense of righteousness
She has a giant scythe

The Collective Review: A Muddled Blend of Action and Clichés
Tumblr media
From the surface, The Collective, directed by Tom DeNucci, appears to offer a promising blend of action and intrigue as it follows a young recruit's journey into the world of assassins and human trafficking. With a cast featuring Ruby Rose, Don Johnson, Lucas Till, Paul Ben-Victor, and Mercedes Varnado, the film boasts some star power. However, as the plot unfolds, it becomes evident that the film struggles to rise above its generic premise and clichéd execution, ultimately leaving audiences underwhelmed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UbiOLp-FsA The movie revolves around Daisy (Ruby Rose), a mysterious and taciturn young woman, who unexpectedly finds herself recruited into a covert agency of assassins. The agency, known as The Collective, is tasked with eliminating dangerous criminals and human traffickers. Despite her inexperience, Daisy is thrust into her first assignment, but things take an unexpected turn, forcing her to go rogue and track down a particularly menacing group of human traffickers. The Bad: One of the film's major flaws lies in its inability to present a fresh and original narrative. The concept of a young recruit going rogue and challenging an established system is hardly new in the action genre. The plotline proceeds predictably, with scenes that feel like they've been borrowed from numerous similar movies. Even the twist, which the filmmakers hope will elevate the story, is telegraphed early on and lacks the desired impact. Ruby Rose as Daisy delivers a competent performance, portraying the character's cold and detached nature effectively. However, the script fails to provide her with enough depth, leaving Daisy feeling like a one-dimensional action hero rather than a fleshed-out character. Don Johnson's portrayal of Liam brings some gravitas to the film, but his character's arc is disappointingly underdeveloped. Lucas Till's portrayal of Sam is spirited but often comes across as cartoonish, undercutting any serious tension the movie tries to build. A significant flaw in the film lies in its pacing and editing, which feel disjointed at times. Transitions between scenes can be jarring, hindering the audience's ability to fully immerse themselves in the story. Some crucial moments are hurried through, while others linger on less essential details, disrupting the film's flow and rhythm. Another aspect that fails to live up to its potential is the portrayal of the human trafficking subject matter. The film touches on this disturbing issue, but it does so with superficiality, reducing a grave global problem to a mere backdrop for the action sequences. The lack of sensitivity and depth in handling such a delicate topic is a missed opportunity for the film to provide a thought-provoking commentary on the matter. Mercedes Varnado, better known as WWE Superstar Sasha Banks, plays the enigmatic Nikita, one of The Collective's top assassins. Unfortunately, Nikita's character remains largely in the background, only serving to advance the plot when needed. Her character, like many others in the film, lacks the necessary exploration and development, leaving audiences feeling disconnected from her role. The Good: The action sequences in The Collective are the film's saving grace, providing some adrenaline-pumping moments. Choreographed fight scenes and high-octane shootouts showcase the characters' lethal skills and keep the film from falling into complete mediocrity. However, these well-executed action scenes are not enough to compensate for the overall lackluster narrative and character development. In terms of production design and cinematography, The Collective is competent but fails to stand out from other films in the genre. The dark and moody aesthetic suits the tone of the film, but the lack of visual flair prevents it from leaving a lasting impression. Overall: The Collective attempts to deliver an action-packed narrative with a dash of mystery and intrigue. While the action sequences are well-executed and Ruby Rose's performance is commendable, the film's lack of originality, shallow character development, and underutilization of its cast lead to an overall underwhelming experience. The potential for a gripping and thought-provoking tale of assassins and human trafficking remains untapped. Instead, the movie falls into the well-trodden territory of clichés, leaving audiences longing for something more innovative and captivating. Read the full article

Alright
First and foremost, THE ART STYLE. Every single damn scene was BURSTING with flavor and my little artistic brain was being fed gourmet level fine cuisine. I especially loved the scenes with Gwen and her Dad, him finding out when she pulled off her mask, you see him go from red to blue to black and you feel his grief and confusion. The colors, the line art, the angles, the animation, (all the other terms for movie stuff that I don’t know bc I’m dumb) just looked sooo gooodddd. The art style opened the door for so much expression with emotion! That aspect is visible in literally every single scene it’s delicious. I also really loved the use of music whether it guided an entire scene or whether it was in the background.
Movies like into the spiderverse, puss and boots the last wish, and across the spiderverse truly use all the space and time they are given to move you along with the story line. The action scenes from The Last Wish and both Spider-verse movies is only paralleled by iconic anime action scenes (in my opinión~). It’s nuts that in other movies from the same studio like Strange World (OOF) and Turning Red (not the best imo) (and I’m not excited for Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken :/) I felt like i was being dragged through an awkward hell of plastic stupidity.
It’s flat, predictable, and boring. Maybe TikTok and the internet have just shot my attention span (probably) but the Golden Age of animation that brought Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Princess and the Frog, and other stuff like The Sword in the Stone and Jungle Book are so beautiful! Their animation isn’t like Across the Spiderverse, it’s slower, more traditional, and soft, but it’s just aesthetically pleasing art and style.
I personally dislike the “New Generation” animation style so much I can genuinely barely watch anything new disney/Pixar maybe I’m just a hateful picky bitch idk
Pair the irritating art style with unrealistic dialogue, awkward jokes, and frustrating plot points? I’m in the middle of the road waiting for an 18 wheeler to hit me and I’ve only ever seen the movie’s trailer. I refused to watch Turning Red I hate it I hate it I hate it I-
I was able to sit through Luca and Encanto and they were alright. Bruno was villain material and the fact that Abuela was forgiven so quickly made absolutely no sense. Bruno was forced to live in Casita’s walls for years bro. YEARS. And then they just hugged at the end?? WHERE IS THE BLOOD? WHERE IS THE DEATH? WHERE IS THE MELODRAMATIC VILLAIN SONG? WHERE IS THE CINEMATOGRAPHY? WHTA THE FUCK
Anyway. Across the Spiderverse had amazing dialogue. The jokes were FUNNY and WELL TIMED. They were perfectly inserted, even in the more serious moments like when Miguel’s little station pad was descending comically slow, when Lyla wanted Miguel to repeat himself when he needed back up, etc
It was realistic and super enjoyable. I actually laughed multiple times and it was GREAT.
Ugh character design? Don’t get me started. I noticed the diversity that was plugged in from the beginning, the men playing basketball in wheelchairs, Pavitr Prabhakar, the Spider-Woman in the spider wheelchair who chased Miles for a bit, Cyborg Spider-Woman, Pter Ptarker the T-Rex Spider-Man (my personal favorite lmao) Malala Windsor, etc. And they didn’t make it weird. They weren’t tokens, they were there as people, fully fleshed out people with personalities, depth, and lives. I saw that in pretty much everyone. In the little things, how they walked, talked, were present in scenes where they weren’t the main characters. The attention to detail for every single little thing in this movie is astounding.
For the character design of only Malala Windsor, the designer Kris Anka spent two whole months researching how different women wore hijabs and other head coverings during sports and consulted his Muslimah friends on the most accurate ways to design characters (according to Into the Spider-Verse wiki page). And we only saw Windsor for literally 6 seconds max on screen. The amount of care that went into a tiny character in a movie is just so admirable. The creators of this movie researched and they cared. The hijab wasn’t necessary, it would of been easier to not research, to not include, to not care. BUT THEY DID CARE. And it shows.
The pacing of the movie: fabulous. It was interesting to me how they simultaneously explored like 20 different situations all at the same time but maintained a feeling of organization and purpose. All scenes shown were there for a reason and acted as a tiny piece of a huge mosaic. Across the Spider-verse isn’t a stand alone movie, but the connector piece between Into the Spider-verse and the eventual 3rd movie of the series.
And finally, possibly the most important part, Miguel O’Hara is hot as fuck. Impressively so. Distractingly so. Beautifully so.
Fuckin hell I’m going to see across the spiderverse TOMORROW and I have to abstain from looking at your sexy hot art of it bc I don’t want spoilers 🥹🥹🥹 wtf 🥹🥹
But I’m also excited bc after I see it I can see your sexy hot art of it so 👀👀
As soon as you leave the theater I want a full 10 page essay about how this movie changed you as a person due on my desk by Sunday
