By applying technologies used to quickly and accurately position wires in the motors of electrical appliances such as air conditioners and ventilation fans, the Japanese team enabled the robot to rotate one of the six faces of the cube 90 degrees in 0.009 seconds.

One by one, the colors of the panels were recognized by cameras and AI technology. The robot failed to solve the puzzle cube on its first attempt and the team spent about 20 minutes adjusting the machine. The robot succeeded on its second attempt, setting its own best record and breaking the previous world record.

Series: Rubikcubism (Rubik Master Pieces)

Arty-Fact: Rubik Shot Red Marilyn derives from Invader’s series ‘Rubik Master Pieces’, in which he manipulates Rubik's Cubes to reproduce historical works of art as three-dimensional sculptures. Due to the restricted palette of the cubes (limited to six colours), the images are transformed into abstract, pointillist mosaics whose full forms can only be discerned from afar or, as Invader himself suggests, through a smartphone camera.

Invader reproduced some of Andy Warhol’s iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe from 1967. In this image, Marylin’s face, composed of white and orange squares, emerges over a pixelated field of red and orange. Despite the heavily simplified design, Marilyn’s seductive gaze and smiling lips are immediately recognisable.

If Warhol’s original artwork is a comment on American society, its consumerism and its obsession with fame, Invader’s version represents a homage to both a global celebrity and a revolutionary artist who disrupted the art world.

Like Warhol, Invader is more concerned with artistic experimentation rather than critiquing society. Through this series Invader is playing with the history of art and making the viewer discover or rediscover iconic artworks. Moreover, the very term Rubikcubist is of course a reference to the cubist movement founded by Braque and Picasso at the beginning of the 20th century.

But the colourful portraits are more than just a mirror image, because they appear to jump off the wall thanks to clever subtleties in shading and depth. They are the brainchild of artist Josh Chalom who pixilates each image by hand, along with a team of more than 30 people painstakingly piece and twist the creations together. He said: 'I simply love the art form - I'm fascinated by old Atari 8-bit video games so this is the perfect medium for it. 'I've been doing this for years now and have no intentions of slowing down either. It's not so much a hobby but a passion in my life. Each one is hand twisted so depending on the size it takes anywhere from two or three days to a week or two to finish, but it all depends on complexity and planning for it. The biggest piece so far is the Hand of God - it's 29ft by 14.5ft and we used 12,090 cubes for that. Les presento mis dos más grandes colecciones: cubos/puzzles y audífono: 1er dato: entre la comunidad se le llama "cubos" para referirse a ese tipo de puzzles en general, aunque muchos son cilindros, pirámides, hexágonos o muchas formas más. Yo creo que es porque los primeros que salieron a la venta fueron los clásicos cubos, entre ellos el cubo de Rubik. 2do dato: hay competencias de velocidad para armarlos, hay muchísimas categorías, y estos son dos récords mundiales •Cubo de Rubik (3x3): 3.47 segundos •Cubo de 2x2: 0.49 segundos To me tardo 30 segundos en el 3x3 c: 3er dato: los audífonos se pueden modificar de miles de maneras, pero lo realmente importante es el sonido, con el simple hecho de cambiar las almohadillas te cambia el sonido, te pueden cambiar la perspectiva del sonido y aumentar los graves, la esencia sonora, los tonos altos, etc. Aparte le puedes poner cable de oro, de plata, sellado al vacío, el cono de la bocina puede ser de cartón, de plástico, de aluminio, los imanes, el tamaño, pff, una infinidad de opciones y fuera del marketing por eso es que hay audífonos que cuestan mil pesos y audífono que están arriba de cincuenta mil pesos.
