Jordan Park This is a nice little spot for a meal by the river. It is on an oxbow on the Rubicon. The river hosts a wide variety of species. The lot is shared with the Art's Center, and Auto Museum. Circus trees, this was a term coined fore trees purposely groomed or grafted into unusual shapes or into patterns. I will admit my small lot has several. Mine are not really circus trees as they were not shaped through intent so much as natural environment. Here we have two oddities, both black walnut a prized hardwood. The elder has had most of it's root base taken by the river. It has slowly been falling for the past decade or so. The younger has grow up in the shadow and has not struck a good truck yet, bit more a sprawl of ground level branches. A picture of the backyard along the flood plain. None of this is within the high water line. The river washed a few toys and some people's fire starting kits from up stream. A flood is not unusual here, but it is in October, normally we are drying out by now. This was the highest water in about a decade.
