Road to Ultra: Philippines

Last September 15, 2017, Ravers, music enthusiasts, and several different personalities gathered at the MOA Arena for the third leg of the Road to Ultra: the Philippines. Some of the hottest DJs in electronic dance music were featured.

For ones that keep asking why and for those who don't understand, Partying is not about alcohol and drugs, it's a way to celebrate music and forget all the stress of the night.  A moment when you could just be on your own without worrying about anything and anybody.  It's one of those nights where you're free and alive.

So going back to the topic, our own Patty Tiu and Marc Marasigan started the hype with their upbeat and original remixes. We missed their set because we weren't able to arrive on time so I didn't have any photos during their performance.

Sam Feldt was spinning when we arrived at the venue, and it was my second time seeing him live. He is a Dutch DJ and deep house music producer, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. If you want to fall in love with him, listen to “Show me love” and his other songs. It’s super chill and eargasmic.

Next, on the list are Rezz and Getter.

Rezz is a 22-year-old Canadian DJ and record producer. They say she plays electro, dark techno and dubstep music. 

Getter is an American DJ whose genre is dubstep, trap, bass house, drum and bass, hip hop and electro house.

Their set made everyone alive and jumping. They also gave us a stiff neck due to excessive headbanging. Haha. It was lit!!!

But wait, we weren’t even at the climax yet, because the party just started. After those 5 talented DJs is the moment, everyone has been waiting for…

The crowd went wild and everyone started screaming the moment Zedd appeared on the stage. Zedd’s best-known productions to date are the songs “Stay” with Alessia Cara, “Clarity,” “Break Free” with Ariana Grande and many more.

His set was magical. I’ve been wanting to watch him live, so it was a dream come true to me. I will never forget that euphoric moment when he played Spectrum and Clarity. Everyone was singing their hearts out, and I almost cried. He was terrific, and it was unforgettable!!

And lastly, Hardwell closing the main stage for RTU PH.

I also admire him, I recommend you to listen to his remixes specially to his latest song which is my current favorite “Creatures of the night” with Austin Mahone. We enjoyed the whole set, and to be honest, Hardwell has the best visuals. It was fascinating!

Music is one of the biggest and most powerful thing in this life. It expresses what words cannot be said, and it can communicate and heal. My first RTU PH experience was memorable. It will be forever etched in my heart.
