OK I know that mom friend Mischa is one of the more prolific headcanons for his place in the dynamic post-Cyclone, but it's never felt quite right to me? So I'm offering a slightly different but still similar take: group hype-man Mischa

-Ocean starts guilt spiraling about things she said/did to the rest of the choir before the accident? All Mischa hears is an opening for an aggressively positive speech about how far she's come as a person and friend and that she doesn't need to beat herself up forever about things they've already forgiven her for

-Ricky is feeling isolated and self-conscious because of his disability? Not on Mischa's watch bro, you are the groovy space hero and all those sexy catgirls want you so bad. Are you calling the catgirls liars? Didn't think so.

-(second, way more self indulgent one just for me) When Ricky comes out as transfem, once he gets over the shock of you can do that? just change your gender whenever? Mischa is on that shit. Slips up with the new name and pronouns the least of all of them (learning English was a hell unto itself, this is nothing) and levels the full Bachinski Glare towards anyone who acts weird about it. Savannah is his friend and if you don't tell her she's the prettiest girl ever right now he will kick your fucking ass

-The whole choir post-accident basically doubles as the Penny Fan Club, but Mischa is the most enthusiastic about it. Penny baked cupcakes for them all? They are The Best Cupcakes He's Ever Had™. Penny sang her part particularly well that day? Holy shit, she's literally an angel, how did she sound so perfect, wow. Penny breathes? Amazing, outstanding, beautiful, showstopping

I don't have any good ideas for Noel or Constance yet, but this post is getting long as is anyway, so I'm leaving it here. I just think that so much of Mischa's anger came from a place of loneliness, of feeling separated from the town and the people in it, and I think that, had they all survived, he would just be so stoked to finally have people who get him that he would have a new 500-page essay on why he loves them all every single day and would not hesitate to bring it out at the slightest provocation
