Hello everyone,

So last night it came to my attention via my main that one person sent me a very large number of anon requests in a very short span of time and has done the same in at least one previous batch. If this was you, I would appreciate it if you could please reach out to me via my dms. You can even use a throwaway account if you feel it's necessary. I'm not angry with you, I'm not gonna bite your head off, but I would like to find out exactly which anons were yours this round so that we can pick one for me to draw and I can free up some slots to give other people a chance to request something.

To be clear, I'm not referring to people sending me two or three things off anon here, although I think I need to make it a rule going forward for everyone on anon and off to please stick with one request at a time unless I invite people to request seconds. I don't want to have to do away with anonymous asking altogether because I know some people genuinely feel safer interacting with blogs like mine that way, but I can't have any one person taking up a third of a batch. It's a matter of fairness, as not everyone following me lives in my same timezone. My ask box was only open for less than an hour before becoming full to bursting and as a result people who were not around for that hour missed the boat.

If I can clear this up, I'll be reopening asks and continuing this batch. Thank you everyone for your support.

Hi everyone, I've closed the ask box once again. I got a lot of asks very quickly, some of which I'm not sure I can assume good faith on. Going forward I'm considering not taking anonymous asks anymore. It's never really been a problem for me but this round I got some questionable stuff. Please remember that A. This project is a labor of love and B. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Thank you.

So at this moment I'm going to be opening Ricky requests (I call them Rick-quests) back up soon, but first I thought it would be wise to add some faqs onto my pinned post. It's kind of a lot to read but it might enhance your Rickyverse experience to have this info.

1. "Is this blog run by @icepoptroll?"

Yes, that's me. For whatever reason I didn't feel like it was important to mention that in my initial pinned post, but yeah that's my main

2. "Will you draw (insert ship, concept, what have you here)?"

I will pretty much draw any Ricky-centric request that I judge to be sent to me in good faith. That being said if you send me a request that I wouldn't feel right doing I will most likely respond by inviting you to please request something else. If I perceive your ask to be an obvious troll then I will simply delete it without dignifying it with a response. Very rarely do I get asks that I can't give someone the benefit of the doubt on but this round I did unfortunately get a couple. Please consider how you are asking me to depict a beloved physically disabled character; it is very important to me that this blog is a safe space for disabled fans!! I will draw other characters with Ricky because I feel like an important part of depicting the character is showing his interactions with the other people in his life, but keep in mind that the more elaborate the request is the longer it will take me to fulfill it

3. "How many more requests are left to do until you open back up? Do I have time to get references/ideas together?"

Depending on what kind of week I'm having I'll close the ask box at anywhere from more or less 15-30 requests and keep it closed until I finish them all. If you follow along with about how many I've done so far in each batch you'll have an idea of how long until I start the next one. I always make a post letting everyone know when I open requests back up, so if you turn on post notifications that will also help you stay informed.

4. "Have you drawn xyz before?"

I will draw repeat concepts simply because there is always more than one way of illustrating something, so if I already have done it chances are I'll be willing to do so again. If you would rather ask for something I haven't done though, you can always check my archive and see if you find it there.

Some other FYIs:

You might find that some of my drawings have more detail than others or I try different techniques or use more shading or whatever it is. Whether I take a drawing a little further in that way is entirely dependent on how much time I have, how I'm feeling physically and mentally, and where your request happens to fall on the list in relation to that. I fulfill requests in the order that they're received.

Providing me with references will allow me to make better drawings. For the custom Ricky designs I can go off of descriptions alone but it might not end up being exactly what you're envisioning. The more specific you are and the more references you provide the more likely I am to give you exactly what you're looking for.

Please friends, one ask per person per batch unless I invite seconds!! Please do not use the anon feature to request an excessive number of drawings! These pieces take time and effort and care for me to make and I would prefer that you really think on just one thing at a time that is meaningful to you.

Feel free to ask me to illustrate Ricky with features you would like to see get more visibility, especially ones that may relate to his neuromuscular disability. Your ask may make someone out there feel seen and that's a major reason I do this: a lot of disabled fans relate to Ricky.

Hey Space Babies

On my drive home from work today I decided I wanted to make this blog for Ricky fans to send in their Ricky-related drawing requests. Put a Ricky in my ask box and I'll give you a nice lil Ricky sketch

Why? Because Ricky's a fan favorite, my personal blorbo, I enjoy drawing him, and I'm trying to practice drawing and capturing likenesses and stuff like that on a character I have fun drawing so that practicing isn't a chore. Also a major bonus is, I'd get to draw all the Rickies!!

Here's the dealio:

Ask for any Ricky you want and specify any particular details. You can request a specific portrayal, a feature you want the drawing to have, or a combination of both (ie. Scott Redmond Ricky; Ricky with heterochromia; Connor Russell Ricky wearing cat ears) If you want a lesser known Ricky, please include a good reference picture or feel free to include one regardless. I can also make Ricky into Savannah if you'd like, or I can even draw your personal Ricky/Savannah design

When requests pile too high I'll be closing the ask box until I can get the current batch out

This is just a fun hobby kinda thing, mod works full time and is involved in a lot of projects and doesn't always have wifi so you may not receive your Ricky right away, but don't worry I didn't forget about you

(Editing to add: due to Ricky's long-standing history as a disabled character I reserve the right to draw him with mobility aids and such even if a production was newer and he didn't have them in it, that's just my personal preference for drawing him)
