Hey @netflix honestly how do you expect people to watch your shows and invest their time and money into you when EVERY SINGLE TIME you have something people love you just throw it away?
What’s the fucking point if a show with a 92/90 on Rotten Tomatoes and that’s made MULTIPLE Best Of lists isn’t even given a chance to grow?
Let’s look at some comparisons of a few other recent Netflix shows that got a second (or more) season, shall we? How are they stacking up on RT?
Stranger Things: 91/90
The Sandman: 88/80
Bridgerton: 84/74
Shadow & Bone: 83/84
Wednesday: 73/85
Locke & Key: 68/56
Avatar: The Last Airbender: 61/72
Fate: The Winx Saga: 45/82
So good reviews and critical acclaim won’t do it. Multiple weeks on your top 10 won’t do it, making the Nielsen top 10 won’t do it. Engagement from a devoted fan base won’t do it. I’m curious, what’s the metric here? Just because it wasn’t an instant runaway sensation, it’s not worth it to you? Is that what it takes?
Here’s a hot tip: if you want people to continue to pay for a subscription to your service, maybe give stuff a chance to grow. Maybe invest a bit of time into actually advertising a show before it premiers.
One of the most popular tweets about Dead Boy Detectives when it came out was someone saying they didn’t want to watch it because they didn’t trust you not to cancel it and break their hearts. There were THOUSANDS of people agreeing with it. Thousands of viewers, thousands of accounts you missed out on because people didn’t trust you. So how is this move going to help that?
How are you planning to get people to stick around when one of the best shows on your platform isn’t given a chance? How are you expecting them to ever give your shows a chance when you’re proving again and again that you can’t be trusted to follow through?
Dead Boy Detectives is a great show. It’s a quality product. The cinematography, the lighting, the sound design, the sets, the props, the COSTUMES. The scripts are good, the acting is great, the effects are believable. the cast and crew poured their hearts into it and you can see it on the screen. The characters are relatable and real. This is a show that is rewatchable. A show that is fun. A show that is entertaining. That has a good message, that deals with heavy topics with care and sensitivity. That’s got comedy and drama and horror and mystery. That’s got representation and diversity. That means something to people. Means A LOT to people. But that’s not important to you.
Dead Boy Detectives was THE reason I renewed my account. I watched it multiple times. (See how many magnifying glasses there are after my name up there? Fun fact: I added one every time I watched the full season.) I was even making a list of other shows and movies I was planning to check out. But that’s not happening any more, because I’m canceling my account as soon as this post is up. And I know I’m not the only one.

Apparently Google assumes you're traveling during the ferry's normal operating hours. We lost two hours circling that damn lake (to say nothing of the Straw Man).
Google Maps [Explained]
Transcript
My road trip with my brother ran into trouble around page three of the Google Maps printout
[Google Maps printout.] ← 70. Slight left at RT-22 - go 6.8 mi → 71. Turn right to stay on RT-22 - go 2.6 mi ← 72. Turn left at Lake Shore Rd - go 312 ft → 73. Turn right at Dock St - go 427 ft [An icon of water] 74. Take the ferry across the lake. - go 2.8 mi
[A car is driving in the dark.] Brother: Okay, now take Dock St toward the ferry. Cueball: We're supposed to take a ferry? It's past midnight, and these woods are creepy. Brother: Google Maps wouldn't steer us wrong.
[Cueball and his brother stand outside the car. The ferry has a sign on it reading CLOSED.]
[Cueball is standing next to his brother, who is holding a Google Maps printout.]
[Cueball motions towards his brother.] Cueball: Let me see those directions.

What We Know About Series 14
Doctor Who series 14 is coming up next year. This is a roundup of advance information and leaks about the season and the preceding Christmas special. Sources are at the very bottom below the cut.
CAST
Tumblr media
Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor. Unlike his predecessors, this Doctor changes his outfit a lot.
Tumblr media
Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. Like her actress, Ruby is a native of Manchester.
Returning characters:
Tumblr media
Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, head of UNIT.
Tumblr media
Bonnie Langford as former companion Mel Bush.
Villains:
Tumblr media
Jinkx Monsoon as a villain favouring piano-themed attire, described as "the Doctor's most powerful enemy yet". Not everyone survives the encounter...
Tumblr media
Indira Varma as the Duchess. RTD: "a whole new audience will be hiding behind the settee when the Duchess unleashes her terror." Varma previously played Suzie Costello on 2 episodes of Torchwood.
Other characters:
Tumblr media
Aneurin Barnard as Roger ap Gwilliam.
Jonathan Groff as a "mysterious key" character.
Tumblr media
Lenny Rush as Morris, in time for the Doctor's "greatest nightmare". RTD: "But what secrets does he hold? What's secreted in the Segway?! And will his terrifying probabilities be proved true..?"
Jack Forsyth-Noble as Will.
Gemma Arrowsmith and Mary Malone will appear in the Christmas special, while Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy and Billy Brayshaw will appear in separate episodes.
Tumblr media
Also announced to be appearing: Sophie Ablett, Anita Dobson, Michelle Greenidge, Bhav Joshi, Millie Kent, Eilidh Loan, Pete MacHale, Miles Yekinni, Hemi Yeroham. Dobson previously appeared in the audio play "Blood of the Daleks".
EPISODES
There will be a Christmas special in December 2023, followed by an eight-episode season. (The BBC posted that the season would air in spring, but then removed the information.) Russell T Davies is the showrunner.
A guest star from 2005 returned for the special.
Episode 1's title was coincidentally spoken aloud in a third-season episode of Star Trek: Picard. It includes the words roar, Glastonbury, and conquistador.
Episode 2 contains the words Liverpool, legions, and non-diegetic. Scene 10 begins "INT. CANTEEN. DAY."
RTD thinks episode 4 is one of the best things he's ever written. The line "I once went to the top of the Shard" was cut from it.
The script for episode 7 begins with the line "INT. COFFEE BAR, USA — DAY, 1947".
Episode 8 will contain the words kingdom, gold, and Tigella. Scene 73, featuring the Doctor and Ruby in the TARDIS while "enemies are being fought", was the last scene filmed for the season.
Tumblr media
There's a 1960s episode, featuring the Doctor and Ruby in snazzy period outfits.
Tumblr media
The episode guest-starring both Varma and Groff will be set in the Regency era. "Dress to impress, and beware the Duchess."
CREATOR RAMBLINGS
According to RTD, we will be "staggered" by the 2023 festive season surprises.
There are monsters which are "impossible to describe" without referencing Fourth and Seventh Doctor adventures.
RTD promises that there are "plans still unfurling" which have yet to be made public.
Production designer Philip Sims said he was excited about "designing a new Dalek".
Davies has hinted that the blue doors Michelle Greenidge and Anita Dobson were photographed with are significant.
Script editor Scott Handcock mentioned filming which required nine babies, as well as Ncuti and Millie.
Monsoon's first day on set "teams her with an unexpected name from the Tom Baker era".
Anita Dobson has said she's playing Ruby's neighbour, whose name is either Mrs. Flood or Blood.
RTD used a potato emoji while commenting on publicity photos from the Regency episode (Sontarans?). Davies was also very coy about the identity of Groff's character.
RTD mentioned one episode having gone through three titles with no decision having yet been made. Another episode had "sixpence" in the title for a while, until the coin was cut.
RTD teased a famous guest star appearing in a scene with a giant statue head in the finale.
While writing about the final days of filming, RTD said that "Yasmin Finney wrapped a few days ago".
OTHER
Filming began on December 7, 2022 and wrapped on July 14, 2023.
Block One was directed by Dylan Holmes Williams. Block Two was directed by Mark Tonderai. It included the Christmas special. Block Three was directed by Julie Anne Robinson. It contains "two wildly different episodes, by two different writers". Block Four was directed by Ben Chessell. Block Five was directed by Jamie Donoghue.
Posters of the Doctor and Ruby.
Fifteen will be getting a brand-new sonic screwdriver.
previous
Leaks and sources below the cut!
LEAKS
Michelle Greenidge appears to be playing Ruby Sunday's mother. Since Greenidge and Millie Gibson are different ethnicities, she is presumably an adoptive, foster, or step mother.
Campaign posters for the "Albion Party", with Roger ap Gwilliam as the "Space Saviour", were spotted on location filming.
Jinkx Monsoon is in the '60s episode.
Millie Kent is playing Valerie, and Sophie Ablett is Marti Bridges.
Mel Bush will be appearing in the season finale.
Reports from finale location filming, albeit second-hand, of someone on set saying, "This is where the Daleks come in".
According to his CV, Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy will be playing Carson in an episode directed by Julie Anne Robinson.
Davina McCall may be the returning 2005 guest star. She will apparently host a genealogy show on which Ruby appears, and will be crushed by a falling Christmas tree.
RUMOURS
UNIT may be getting its own spinoff. (SOURCE)
The DWM production journal has led some fans to theorize Steven Moffat will be returning as a writer.

Collider also wrote a nice article about Crimson Peak and how underrated it was and gradually is getting more and more popular with time. I think there was a link to it in this article. I honestly loved it already back then- I still don´t understand how some had problem with the incest here (while it actually made sense storywise) and had no problem with The Shape of Water, which was not even half as good as Crimson Peak.
The biggest problem was always the marketing.
It actually got fairly decent reviews back in 2015 - it's at 73% on RT now. It was only a flop financially, and for those that expected a gorefest, thanks to Universal's poor marketing; it should have gone to TIFF, tbh, to get buzz as a gorgeous genre homage.

*Princess Diana’s dresses were once displayed in Tampa at The Anderson-Frank House, which was built in 1901. It was on the market in 2019 for $2.9 Million.

*On 3/11/2996 People and Time Magazine published stories about Princess Diana’s divorce from Prince Charles. The titles were horrendous. “DI-Vorce” and “It’s Over” Jesus Christ the media needs to get a life. If you’re looking for a copy there is one on Ebay, but the seller accidentally left his address on the front, so it will be coming from Ohio if you order it!
There are 2 cities named Cardiff.
1. Cardiff, UK. The capital of Wales. It is the 11th largest city in the UK. Cardiff is 3 hours and 4 minutes to Althorp House. It is 148.5 (13/5) miles via M5 (13/5)
On October 29, 1981, Princess Diana gave her first public speech in Welsh at Cardiff City Hall. She received a standing ovation after giving the speech, which was part of a three-day tour of Wales with Prince Charles
On March 27, 1984, Princess Diana opened the new headquarters for the Welsh National Opera company in Cardiff.
On March 1, 1991, Princess Diana and Prince William met and greeted people in St David's Hall, including the Mayor. This was Williams first public engagement.
Welsh sculptor Robert Thomas created a bust of Princess Diana in 1987. The bust was presented to the city of Cardiff.
Welsh sculptor Robert Thomas created a bust of Princess Diana in 1987. The bust was presented to the city of Cardiff.
2. Cardiff, New South Wales, Australia. New South Wales is the Capital of Sydney. It is located 17 kilometres (11) miles west-southwest of Newcastle. Interesting….its 91 miles from Sydney. And 35 miles from The Entrance… based on context clues I feel like thats important. Its federal division is Hunter and Shortland. Cardiff has a road named Glendale, Drive. Glendale is important because there is a Glendale, AZ and a Glendale, CA. AZ was where she kicked off the Eras Tour.
The two Cardiff’s are 10,631 miles apart.
But what is super interesting about Cardiff, UK is that 95.9 miles away is a town called Cardigan.
Cardigan is a town in the county of Ceredigion, Wales. Positioned on the tidal reach of the River Teifi…. That sounds like Teffy or Teffi which is what Taylor Swift said during the 73 questions with Vogue, she was asked if she had a nickname and she said that “my brother calls me Teffy.”

Sightings @ Greenwood Yard, 2025/02/11, 16:00
RT-90/91 (track inspection) RT-87 (crane) RT-73 (ATC (automatic train control) installation) RT-89 (track vacuum) RT-57 (flatbed) RT-85 (structure rehab, leak repair, track welding. this is just a multipurpose motorized flatbed I think) RT-81 (anchor bolt drilling) RT-(34)/35/36 (asbestos abatement crew) RT-40 (ballast delivery) RT-79 (ballast buggy) ST-7 (scarborough rt locomotive. I think it's just been sitting in the back of the yard for a while) + mystery ballast buggy, drain vacuum and structure maintenance hawker
also, not a work car, but there was a TR train parked in the shops, assumedly undergoing maintenance that couldn't be done at davisville or wilson yards. very odd to see one of these here, especially considering how difficult I'm told it is to get TRs into greenwood.

Zelensky AGAIN Refuses to Hold Elections as Most Ukrainians Oppose War
by Sean MillerNovember 19th, 2024 5:28 PM
Ukraine is under martial law until at least February 2025. This has allowed Zelensky to refuse to leave office, outlaw opposition parties, jail politicians and 'purge' people deemed disloyal.
Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky, whose term has ended in May of this year, presented his Internal Resilience Plan in the country’s parliament Tuesday where he again ruled out holding elections. This comes as the wartime leader guides his country toward global nuclear armageddon with a people who largely wish the war to end.
“We all know that the Constitution of Ukraine and the law do not permit elections during wartime, and no one in the world has demanded and does demand this from Ukraine. However, there are some people in Ukraine who may be so ‘hungry’ for [elections] that they want to fight within our state more than for our state. They seek political disputes in the trenches, like in film studios. This is detrimental to Ukraine,” Zelensky said, according to RT on Tuesday. “First, Ukraine needs a just peace, and then Ukrainians will hold fair elections. We must prioritize the common interest over any personal desires.”
Interestingly, a recent poll revealed that a slim majority of Ukrainians wish for the war to end soon.
“A majority of Ukrainians now favor a rapid end to the ongoing conflict with Russia through peace negotiations, according to a recent survey conducted by Gallup,” RT said Tuesday. “In its latest report, on Tuesday, the American pollster reported that 52% of respondents believe Kiev should pursue peace talks to end the war as soon as possible. This marks a substantial rise from 27% in 2023 and just 22% in 2022.”
While the majority that want peace is slim, it still constitutes a major increase since the war began.
“Support for continuing military action until a decisive victory is achieved has been on the decline. In February 2022, 73% of Ukrainians backed continued hostilities. By 2023, that number had fallen to 63%, and it has dropped further, to 38% in 2024. The poll indicates that Ukrainians are reconsidering their positions as the conflict drags on, and their military continues to retreat,” RT said Tuesday.
Ukraine is under martial law until at least February 2025. This has allowed Zelensky to refuse to leave office, outlaw opposition parties, jail politicians and ‘purge’ people deemed disloyal, according to RT.
The highest seat in Ukraine, held by Zelensky, is not operating under its own power however. The West, which has green-lit heavy bombardment of Russia on Sunday, controls the strings of the proverbial marionette, Zelensky.
“Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, who has been described in Western media as “the real power broker” in Kiev, stated that presidential elections would be held immediately after the war ends. According to Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk, the next presidential elections would take place within 60 days after martial law is lifted,” RT said Tuesday.
