So I do GOTV canvassing during major election cycles for a lot of reasons but a big one is for my own sanity—it’s an opportunity to talk to my community and see what the vibe is going into an election which is a great marker for how people feel about Life in general. So I’ve been doing that for the last few days and today I finally came across a Republican counterpart:
He was about my age but he didn’t have a clipboard or his phone out with a list of houses he was hitting like me he just seemed to be wandering aimlessly in his very bold Susan B Anthony Pro Life Foundation shirt and some flyers like he was just waiting to find someone to talk to instead of doing actual canvassing.
After passing him multiple times on this afternoon’s route he finally came up to us (my brother and me) and asked who we were with and then asked what drew us to the Ds. I said something vague about policy because I was trying to be pleasant but he insisted on knowing The One Thing that had us (me) out canvassing for the Dems and it occurred to me that he had a very Ben Shapiro-ish look on his face. He wanted to debate me. Not my brother who was standing next to me and giving him perturbed look. Me.
So I told him flat out: Abortion. And suddenly it was like a record scratch in his brain. All of the prep for the upcoming debate he wanted to have that everything about his body language was choreographing was gone. Like that one answer hadn’t occurred to him at all.
He stuttered through something like “oh that’s my issue but the other side ahah” before walking away. I was pleasant for the whole interaction but I was firm in my answer. It was weird, though. You work for a “pro life” organization but you can’t pivot when someone says they aren’t? Or was it that I actually said the word instead of dancing around it using euphemisms due to shame? I’m not ashamed. I am pro abortion.
Anyway that was the only republican canvasser I’ve seen out this whole time and he wasn’t even affiliated with the Trump campaign, or any campaign, and seemed very aimless. And I live in a former (as recently as 2016) Republican stronghold within the Philly suburbs. If the Rs want to win Pennsylvania again they needed to regain ground here. If they have, I’m not seeing it. And their ground game certainly isn’t the reason behind it.
One more thing because this shouldn’t matter but it does: this guy had at least 6 inches on me. I’m 5’2” and femme presenting. I look younger than I am especially when I’m not wearing make up like I was this afternoon. For the whole interaction he technically addressed both of us but it was clear that he was talking to me rather than my brick shithouse brother who was standing next to me. He thought I could be intimidated. He picked wrong.

rs archive 03/13/2024:
if u would, I’d love to hear about the inevitability of fakenut
hello!! sorry it took me a while to get to this ask 🥲 i have a lot of thoughts to like compile. so. oh my god. fakenut. where do i even start.
i guess just like my gumakeria post, ill talk a bit about fakenut's music. it's essentially taylor swift, hozier, mitski, sleep token, and suki waterhouse. the neighbourhood (chip chrome and the monotones) and lizzy mcalpine (over the ocean call HELLO?). my um PINNACLE fakenut song is wildest dreams by taylor swift. no notes. theres just a certain type of longing and pain that comes with this ship. probably bc theyve been through like 8 divorces.
and the history. so much of fakenut is history!! okay, so boom lets go to 2017. but actually 2016. rox fricking lost to skt in in the semis of worlds (which skt proceeded to win) then peanut jOINS SKT, the team that eliminated his team from worlds and then. commence fakenut bc wtf oh my god they were so in love. faker was so obvious. so was peanut. it fucking kills me. SPRING!! MSI!! and then. oh worlds 2017 XDD HAHAHA
THE SELF SABOTAGE. THE HISTORY. HELLO PEANUT RAN AWAY TO CHINA?????? the difficulty of maintaining a relationship in the esports scene?? theyre pitted against each other in games, and its sort of a cycle of "if i lose to you will you think less of me / will i not be worthy of your love" but also "he beat me so i couldn't win so i cant be happy about that either." its hard to be happy when they beat you, or when they win and you didn't. its never going to be perfectly happy. there are small cracks. theyre a cycle of losing and trying again and getting back together and falling apart, not in a particularly soap opera way but in a tragic way! because they want to be together so desperately but its hard, and it fails so many times, but they will always keep trying.
their dynamic too bc!! back then they were so obviously in love and then they went thru divorce arc and then back together and atp its just so much mutual pining too. but also like... fakenut r just mom and dad. they are!! they just have this magnetic pull to each other. binary stars in the universe that always come together. yeah, fun fact according to wikipedia "some binary stars orbit each other so closely that they share the same atmosphere, giving the system a peanut shape." COINCIDENCe??????? I THINK NOT BITCH. the clock stays ticking but fakenut will always be the same. i dont really have any particular motifs i use for fakenut honestly, but theyre very starry and celestial. theyre just enduring and pragmatic and its so ?? ridiculous sometimes?? how do they keep doing this. how do they end up everywhere. idk. theyre history filled and ridiculous and theyre gonna keep thriving.
ok thank you for this ask please we need more fakenut truthers!!!! they are inevitable. ily and have an amazing day.

ive beaten gen 3 games before but this one is different. this is my childhood sapphire version that i lost all the way back in 2005. i was completely devastated when i lost this uniquely "marked" cartridge. to this day i still remember the very last place i saw it before i lost it.
what do i mean by "uniquely marked"?
one afternoon when i was sleeping over at my friend's house, i reached the seafloor cavern for the first time and couldnt figure out this part.
i got so immensely frustrated with it that i tossed the gameboy at my friend's chimney, the cartridge went flying out of the gameboy, and while everything still worked fine, it cracked the cartridge. this made it unmistakably mine if i ever encountered it again, though.
WHICH OF COURSE I DID. that picture up there is a cropped version of a big photo of cartridge games my cousin ended up discovering in his mom's storage. when i told him the story above, he was shocked and arranged for the cart to be sent to me. by this time, i was living in texas, he was in reno, and his mom's storage was in vegas.
in 2016, over ten years after i lost my sapphire version, my dad was vising his sister at a family gathering, and this was our chance. my cousin handed the cart off to my dad so he could bring it back to me. i knew by now there was no way my original data would still be there. that was fine with me. i just wanted my original cart back. in fact, in 2012, i tried to re-buy a different sapphire cart, but ended up sending it back to the seller because it was counterfeit. it was a sign, lol
when i got my sapphire version back, it was pokémon day 2016. pokémon's big 20th. and i had my sapphire version back. to this day it still feels like a fever dream.
of course, with starting gen 3 from the beginning again, this meant i had one important thing to do all over again. see, sapphire is the game where i found my first shiny. my first encounter on route 114 was a shiny swablu, that i ended up naming after the animal crossing character goldie. my first ever shiny.
i wasn't going to just accept that i no longer have my first shiny, so as soon as i reached that route, i prepared my materials: the white flute from the glass workshop. an illuminate starmie at level 17. lots of repels and premier balls. a swalot with yawn. and was prepared to camp on that route for weeks until i encountered my first shiny again.

in under two hours. first premier ball. it actually felt like goldie found me and came back home.

[better pic from box rs]
OH AND GUESS WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN ONLY A COUPLE MINUTES AFTER BEATING THE E4 @kafus HOPE YOU'RE OKAY WITH ME TAGGING U ABOUT THIS LMFAO

i’m sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask but it’s my first year voting and idk who to talk to,, abt that voting thing you reblogged,, is it still worth voting even if i don’t vote for typical red or blue parties? the candidate i want to vote for runs for the green party which is literally almost unheard of in the us but with how strictly red vs. blue politics seem to be here i’m not sure if it’s even worth voting for the person i actually want to have my vote bc i know they won’t compete with the blue party. as much as i hate both the blue and red leading options i would much rather contribute to the blue party winning than the red, but i don’t actually want to vote for b***n. but i just don’t want to waste my vote on a party that can’t compete and contribute to t***p getting elected, like im not sure what to do. i know who i actually want to vote for but i feel like actually voting for them is a wasted vote and itll do more harm then good even though the other options aren’t great either
again i’m sorry if this is like a completely inappropriate question, feel free to just delete this, but this two-party-only thing is so fkn frustrating. i want to give my vote to the person i feel actually deserves it but most people i know don’t even realise that there are other political parties aside from red v blue so instead of creating a situation where people can vote for who they want it’s people have to vote for option A even though they suck because option B is SO MUCH WORSE and option C isn’t even viable because A needs as many votes to beat B as possible like …..what is the average person even supposed to do?? does this even count as democracy???
So I don't understand why you censored Biden or Trump, first of all, because they're not slurs. I find the asterisks infantilizing.
To put it to you simply, no, it is not worth voting third party. That is an emotional vote and I'm sorry, but your feelings do not matter. I don't care how bad you feel voting for Biden. You know your third party candidate is not going to win. I still blame every single blue voter who wrote in Bernie for Hillary's loss in 2016.
Splitting the blue vote means red win. That is just how it works in this country and you need to learn that now. You need to stop treating your vote like an endorsement of Biden's policy and start treating it like the only scrap of power you have in this fucking country, because other than voicing your complaints to your representatives, that really is it.
Oh, and speaking of Biden--the House rejected the $17.6bn aid bill to Israel after Biden threatened to veto it. I strongly recommend you start getting your political news somewhere other than Tumblr or TikTok. Constant public pressure on Biden and his administration is working. Do you think Trump would give a rat's ass about what the public wanted him to do? Do you think Republicans would for a second consider pulling back on a war they are desperate to escalate?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm not saying it isn't a shitty situation. I AM saying that your favorite candidate is not going to win, and I'm even saying that your favorite candidate will put us at risk for a Trump victory. We have a two viable parties because that is the reality of our socioeconomic political system. Rs and Ds are the only choices available because they are the only parties with significant financial power. Investors back Rs and Ds because they know Rs and Ds will give them a return on their investment. Green party candidates, and any other third party candidates, will not win because they do not stand to benefit investors.
It's shitty. It's unfair. It's unethical and immoral. But it's the world we live in. It's the world YOU live in. You have to play the political game whether you like it or not.
So play it smart.

Title: My Cars in WMMT5DX
I missed playing this racing arcade game though. I took this picture last Monday (10/24/16, at Quantum Arcade, SM North Edsa).
• Since 2013, I was in 3rd year college playing "WMMT4" at the arcade after school as my one last race to play because once I'm done, I want to focus on studying and doing important school task(s).
• By 2014, "WMMT5" arcade machine was launched and it so cool (except the graphics though, it's the same as WMMT4). I'm just came here for the Wangan Terminal for transferring my data with my BanaPassport without straight playing the arcade. Feeling myself that I'm refused to play WMMT anymore and I decided retire...
• So now I'm back as my short debut and the "WMMT5DX" arcade machine is finally here in my country. As you can see I have a list of cars, 2 Subaru cars (Both Impreza types: GDB & GRB) , 2 Mitsubishi Cars (Lancer Evo. VIII & IX) and 2 Nissan Cars (350Z and Silvia Spec R), I couldn't shown my Silvia car because it's on the next page). Still on my car list, since WMMT4.
BTW: I've won 2 times in a versus battle and it was my debut moment, I feel lucky. 😁☝
IMPORTANT NOTE: As of 2023, when the WMMT6RR had just rolled out, I have three new cars in my digital garage: the gray metallic Toyota GR Supra RZ (DB42) [340 HP/B], the blue Mazda MX-5 RF RS (NDERC) [158 HP/B], and the white Nissan Fairlady 280Z-T (HGS130) [600 HP]. The only car I didn't claimed was the Nissan Leopard 3.0 Ultima (F31) w/ fully tuned to 840 HP. 🙁 Damn, I want that so bad, but its fine. I'm okay without it. 😊

[ad_1] Courtesy: Hockey India Hockey India fetes the legend with Rs 10 lakh cash award; announces retiring Rani’s famed Jersey No.28 ~ New Delhi, 24th October 2024: In a poignant moment at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium today, former Indian Women’s Hockey Team Captain, Rani, announced her retirement from international hockey after the conclusion of the PFC India vs Germany Bilateral Hockey Series 2024. Known far and wide as the Queen of Indian Hockey, Rani now shifts her focus to coaching and nurturing the future stars of the sport. Rani’s journey began at just 14 years old, making her the youngest player for the Indian Women’s Hockey Team when she took to the field at the Olympic Qualifier in Kazan, Russia, in April 2008. Over the course of a remarkable 14-year career, she led the Indian team to numerous triumphs, including the historic fourth-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Hailing from humble beginnings in Shahbaad Markanda, Haryana, Rani’s rise to stardom was paved with challenges. Despite the odds, she emerged as a beacon of hope, drawing inspiration from the academy run by legendary coach Baldev Singh. “After almost 15 years of wearing the Indian jersey with pride, it’s time for me to step off the field as a player and begin a new chapter. Hockey has been my passion, my life, and the greatest honor I could ever have asked for. From small beginnings to representing India on the biggest stages, this journey has been nothing short of incredible,” Rani recalled fondly. Under her captaincy, India broke a 13-year drought to clinch the Women’s Asia Cup in 2017. She also became the first Indian Women’s Hockey player to be nominated for the FIH Women’s Young Player of the Year Award. Throughout her career, Rani has been honored with numerous accolades, including the Arjuna Award in 2016, World Games Athlete of the Year in 2019, Best Women Player of the Year in 2019 by Hockey India, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2020, and the Padma Shri Award in 2020. “Playing for India came with a lot of recognition but the moments that I will cherish the most are the ones I spent training with the team and facing tough teams together. One such moment was at the Tokyo Olympics where the team ran ragged for each other, this unity led us to victory over some tough teams. As I call it a day on my career, I am filled with pride and belief that the Indian Women’s Hockey Team will go on to great things in the future,” she added. Courtesy: Hockey India Rani is set to take charge as the Women’s Mentor and Indian Coach of Soorma Hockey Club in the revamped Hockey India League this December. She has already dabbled in a similar role when she became the chief coach of the Indian sub-junior girls’ team during Hockey India’s 100th Executive Board Meeting in Chennai last year. Rani even undertook the FIH Educators Course in July to upskill herself for this new chapter. “I’m forever grateful to my teammates, coaches, and every single fan who supported me along the way. I am grateful to Hockey India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, SAI, Haryana Government and Odisha Government for their support. Though I won’t be playing anymore, my love for the game continues. I look forward to new roles and give back to the sport that has given me so much,” she commented on her future plans. Rani’s indomitable spirit and determination to overcome societal pressures have left an indelible mark. She continues to inspire young hockey players, standing tall as a symbol of breaking barriers and chasing dreams. Rani truly remains the Queen of Indian Hockey, a legacy that will live on. yo i used to like thomas/nikolai too back in like 2012-2016 he was a huge fav of mine and just a random memory i wanted to share was this mobile RS game i used to play called ghost toasters and he was super cute in it, his weapon was a big toaster (i think) and iirc one of his cosmetics was his pizza costume? sometimes he would laugh too ^^
You are a BLESSING for bringing this to my attention and I will now be scouring the internet for any archival footage of the game, sending you a wee kiss from Thomas for old time's sakes as a thank you,

As a result of all my thoughts, I decided to determine in which time periods the events of the Cars trilogy took place.
Let's start with part 1. The plot begins with the final race of the Piston Cup, which ended in a triple draw. Supposedly, the Piston Cup is based on NASCAR. In NASCAR, the final race occurs in the autumn. Also in the scenes of Mack and Lightning's journey to California, farmers' fields were shown, in which there was already vegetation ready to be harvested. Another argument in favor of the fact that the action takes place in the autumn.
But there is a problem with determining the exact year.
According to the plot of Cars: Video game, Lightning receives his first Piston Cup in 2006 (based on the final cutscene), which means that all the events in the game take place in 2006. But the season in which McQueen wins his first "useless tin" takes place AFTER the season with a loss to Chick. In other words, the game takes place after the movie. It follows from this that Lighting entered the RS in 2005, instead of 2006.
This means that the events of the first movie take place in the autumn, around October, in 2005.
The time period in Cars: Video game is extremely clear. The game follows McQueen's next season after his big loss, thus capturing the beginning and end of the season. Based on this, it turns out that the action begins in the spring of 2006, the beginning of the season, and ends in the autumn of the same year, the beginning of the off-season.
Further - more difficult. If we follow the logic of the first movie and game, then the year of events in the film is one value less than the year of release of the film itself, and the year of release of the movie is the annual value in the game.
From this it turns out that the events of Cars 2 take place in 2010. (By this point, Lightning already has 4 Piston Cups, he earned one in 2006, and the second in 2010. In total, in 2007/8/9 McQueen brought 2 more trophies) The events of the film also take place in the off-season, the return of the 95th is mentioned at the beginning, that is, in the autumn, around the end of September, beginning of October.
The second car game does not bring any specific dates, cuz... all action is a simulation. Following that logic, the events in Cars 2: Video game take place in 2011, presumably after the Grand Prix in the RS (since the map of this location is available in the simulation). The final WGP race took place in the fall during the off-season, and taking into account the new year in the game, events take place in the winter.
It turns out that the events of Cars 2: Video game take place in 2011, in winter.
The third part of Cars
I just hate this part, because God knows in what year this or that action took place. But first things first.
The first half of the film, McQueen's accident, roughly speaking, happened at God knows what point in the season. To understand this you will have to look at the second half of the film.
4 months have passed since Lightning's accident, the footage from Radiator Springs shows that the snow has not yet melted, and there are 2 weeks left before the start of the season. Based on this data and data from the first NASCAR races, we can assume that it is now late February, or early or mid-March. It turns out that McQueen's accident occurred around November.
And here's the hardest part. God knows exactly what year the accident occurred, because the plot of the third film concerns the new and old year. Because of this, 2016 can be attributed to both the accident and the beginning of the next season with Cruise. But the game comes to our aid.
We know that the events of the game take place in 2017, and then everything depends on the interpretation of its plot. If we consider the playing season as Cruz's second season on the track (which is unlikely), then the accident occurred in 2015. If we consider C3:Vg a direct continuation of the film, that is, the season shown in the film and the season in the game are one and the same, then the accident happened in 2016, which is more likely.
In total, Lightning McQueen's accident occurred in November 2016, and Cruise came to the sport in mid-March 2017

Please go look up the election results in 2016.
Literally if like 5 more ppl in one county in Ohio had voted for Hilary she would’ve won the election. Or idk a whole bunch more ppl in a whole bunch more counties, like what happened in 2022 when Biden got a sweeping electoral college victory because alas, thanks to slave holding states back in the day, the popular vote means nothing and the electoral college means all.
I’m so sick of this bullshit “she won the popular vote and didn’t win so clearly it doesn’t matter!” That’s an ignorant, bad faith argument.
I hate Manchin and Sinema too, but Manchin is from WEST VIRGINIA. Do you seriously think there’s a better choice from that state?? And Sinema ran on a platform completely different from what she’s ended up doing (or not doing) once elected. And, again, AZ was a much different political landscape at the time.
You’re just repeating bullshit at me. Like party lines. It’s so ridiculous and shows how little you know about politics and the American political system. It’s frustrating as FUCK, we ALL know that, but the difference is adults know that the only way to change it is to elect who you can get elected, and as time passes slooooowly move us back left.
The Rs have been doing this since Reagan, dude. They played the long game and they’re fucking winning. No glorious revolution is going to come along and save us. We have to save ourselves and we have to do it at the ballot box and maybe, if we work hard enough, our grandkids will enjoy the fruits of our hard-ass labor.
#it’s a process#I know no one likes that#I know it#but that’s what it is#and the only way to fix it#is by working the process#please learn some history#look back at this country in the 70s#and what the Rs set out to do#and what they’ve done#the only way to fix it#is slowly#and by voting#american politics

Recs from RS Games 2016
It’s not all that long until @rs-games 2017 kick off, and it really is about time that I get around to posting my recs from last year’s Games! There’s a wide variety and a lot of genres in the Games, and it’s definitely worth it to browse through the AO3 collection. Here are some of my favourites from last year:
FIC:
The Fall by carmentakoshi / zealousprince
Rating: PG for non-explicit sexual content
Genre: Angst, Canon
Word Count: 4600
Summary: They’ve told you that dying is like falling asleep, but to you it just feels like falling. But before you fall, you remember.
Why I loved it: This is clever, sad and beautiful. I love the way the formal choices make a powerful impact on this story. The second person POV works well here - I get the sense that something outside of Sirius is showing him this, even if it is in his own head. I also love the language in the story, and the many wonderful descriptions.
Recto Verso by zambla
Rating: R
Warnings: Racism, sexism, homophobia, violence, HIV/AIDS, drug use
Word Count: 7800
Summary: Love in the time of the 1984-5 coal miners’ strike. Remus is a geologist working for an independent assessment of a disputed coal mine in his hometown in south Yorkshire during the strike. He meets a communist agitator. Non-magical AU.
Why I loved it: This story is layered and vivid and feels true in the way it captures the atmosphere of this part of history. The language and the storytelling aims hard, and it hits the mark, with distinct prose and rich characters we recognise from canon, yet we find a version of them that feel impossible to remove from these particular surroundings. There’s bleakness and frustration in this story, but also beauty.
Exposed by edgewareroad
Rating: T
Warnings: A lot of feelings about scars, implied abuse, mild swearing, and quite a lot of kissing.
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
Word Count: 2900
Summary: At eleven, Remus boarded the Hogwarts Express ready to keep secrets. In the end, there are none he can keep from Sirius.
Why I loved it: Supportive Marauders! The way Remus can’t quite allow himself to believe in his friends and in Sirius is well described, and I like how the tone matches beautifully with the young, Hogwarts-era marauders and Remus/Sirius we meet here; still innocent in a lot of ways, yet having to face some heavy issues.
How To Suffer a Storm by philatran
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: The main character has depression so there is a lot of self critical/negative spiels. Vague suicide ideation, but it isn’t graphic. Occasional swearing.
Word Count: 12,000
Summary: Remus Lupin fought two storms; one outside his lighthouse, and the other inside of himself. Sirius Black, an old friend from seven years ago brought back into his life by shipwreck, was the unfortunate silver lining in the clouds
Why I loved it: I like how… almost soft this story is in spite of the dark themes it touches upon, and I don’t mean soft in a way that it makes light of the heavy issues, but that it’s told in a gentle sort of way that has much goodness for the characters, letting them tell their story in their own way. There’s a lot of emotions in the story; just like in life itself, love and hope and dreams and self-acceptance can be difficult and confusing things.
Leave the Rough Road by blanketed_in_stars
Rating: T
Warnings: Mental health issues, some light body horror, suicidal thoughts, also (clearly) a fair bit of angst
Word Count: 7700
Summary: Between the future and the past, between one moon and the next, there is time enough to find the way home.
Why I loved it: This is chilling and yet somewhat hopeful at the same time. There are many beautiful lines and gorgeous descriptions and observant details that make everything come to life. Especially Sirius’ voice rings very true and clear, and the author has a way with language that makes me love this.
A Past Tense of Drowning by grandilloquism
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Descriptions of drowning, blood, gore, descriptions of food and eating
Word Count: 3200
Summary: Sirius, six weeks dead, was standing on Remus’ doorstep. He was barefoot, in Muggle clothes, and drenched from his tangle of black hair to the soles of his muddy feet. He was terribly alive, and painfully young. Remus walked forward, drinking in the sight of him. He was pale and wide-eyed, and he looked to be no older than sixteen. “Sirius,” he said, just a whisper.
Why I loved it: I’m impressed by how the author is able to make this so chilling and so beautiful. A lot is happening in a short fic, and it makes sense every step of the way. It’s clever and mysterious, with an ending I really liked.
Time’s Fool by @ruinsplume
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Explicit sexual content. Character’s ages are 17/16
Word Count: 4800
Summary: It’s only been half an hour since he last shagged Remus Lupin, but already Sirius is beside himself with wanting to do it again.
Why I loved it: There’s so much emotions in this story, and the author does a great job making the angsty parts and the parts where Sirius is trying to control his physical needs flow seamlessly together. An important part of it is how the physical needs are also emotional; Sirius wants Remus in any and all ways that he can. Also, a lot of gorgeous descriptions throughout the entire fic. I loved this.
Longsdune by @imochan
Rating: PG-13/Teen
Warnings: Angst, kissing, brief mentions of canon-compliant character deaths
Word Count: 3500
Summary: He supposes that this is what is expected of him, to sit here and listen to wetness sinking into the earth and remember how it felt when it was sunny, and there were four of them, and Sirius Black looked at him like he was a piece of the universe he wanted to understand so badly that he was willing to take Remus apart completely and then put him back together.
Why I loved it: This is beautiful. I was drawn into every scene; it’s almost like a poem where the different scenes come together, creating a whole. The language is quietly poignant and moving. The ending just about broke my heart, in the best way.
Circle by @ruinsplume
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Light BDSM, implied PTSD, Catharsis!sex, sex magic, oral sex, anal fingering, anal sex, fisting, rimming, orgasm denial, nipple play
Word Count: 13,000
Summary: “Bring a chair,” Remus says, stalling for time. He needs his thinking mind to catch up to what his instinct has told him must now happen.
Sirius turns with an agility Remus has not yet seen, and picks up the wooden stool in the kitchen. He places it in the center of the sitting room, between Remus and the daybed. Remus squares his shoulders. Can he do this? His body still aches from transformation and his nerves are shredded. The hollow thinking space he’s made inside himself is full of fractures; he can barely hold back his need for closeness, for tenderness; the effort of trying is threatening to overwhelm him with exhaustion. He is in no condition to do what Sirius is asking.
But he will. He knows he will because he has already started.
Why I loved it: This fic tore me apart and put me together in a way that left me slightly breathless. There’s such raw emotion here, such uncompromising pain, I can feel the pain and sorrow of the last twelve years. The way they need each other and know each other on such a basic level, where the instincts show the truth. Post-Azkaban bdsm is not an easy topic but this fic goes there and shows me the trust and the need and why this was right.
Three Times Teddy Saw the Sea by adistantsun
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 4200
Summary: In the desert, any water will do.
Why I loved it: Beautiful prose that pulls me in and keeps me there. Every POV works well, and they all work even better because of the other two, giving us layers and knowledge that made each POV all the more poignant.
Ticket to Anywhere by llassah
Rating: G
Word Count: 1900
Summary: There are about four layers of charms on the bike, although the fourth layer is a speed limiter that Sirius and James are quietly not including in the mapping. Peter wants it to shoot flames from the exhaust, James wants it to be able to skywrite. Sirius just wants to fly.
Why I loved this: Heart-warming and very charming. There are many details throughout the story that make everything come to life, and our boys get such a good characterization in few words, which is something I’m always impressed by. There’s a great balance between fluff and a little bit of angst, with some humour on top, creating a lovely feelgood-fic.
Thoughts on Fate and Coincidence by sullen
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 20,000
Summary: In which Sirius learns that a Horcrux is an inappropriate courting gift, despite there being no courting, but there is quite a bit of shouting.
Why I loved it: Wonderful retelling of canon, with great characterization and clever twists, told in a beautiful way. I enjoyed all the characters, but my favourite might just be Regulus.
The Bells by fluorescentgrey
Rating: R
Warnings: sex, violence, some body horror, zombies, lots of death (but it’s hopeful)
Word Count: 23,000
Summary: Upstate New York, after the fall. “Some of the ways death had come to work were obvious, and they were new and necessitated negotiation, but other ways were invisible, or at least invisible unless you cared to look very closely, and thus perhaps they had been as such forever.”
Why I loved it: How very fascinating this is, I was intrigued from start to finish. The atmosphere and the language draw me in. I love this way of having He Who Must Not Be Named wanting to conquer Death, and Remus’ and Sirius’ story is breathtaking. There are many wonderful details here, and the last line?? Wonderful.
Percolation by muse_in_absentia
Rating: PG
Genres: Coffee Shop AU , Fluff
Word Count: 3800
Summary: Sometimes love doesn’t happen all at once, but rather accumulates drip by drip until it overflows and you have no idea how it got all over the place.
Why I loved it: Just the kind of fic to read when curled up on the couch under a blanket. I have a soft spot for fics that take place in one location; in a way the coffee shop becomes one of the characters. The easy banter between the four friends and how they’ve remained so close makes this a very charming read.
I Do Not Think of You Lying in The Wet Clay by phiso
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Mentions of canonical character death, depression, mild swearing, PoA alternate POV, present tense, occasional shaky grasp of reality
Genres: Angst, Character Study
Word Count: 11,000
Summary: The dead do not reside in graveyards, they live in the places they used to love, and Remus cannot run away from their ghosts.
Why I loved it: Intriguing retelling of PoA; Remus’ voice feels very real and this entire fic is beautifully told. Loved it.
This Bright Familiar Sun, or Lost Snapshots of Summers on an Island by mustntgetmy
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Some vague sex, some mentions of parental abuse.
Genres: Angst, slight AU
Word Count: 12,000
Summary: A partial and disjointed account of what occurred on an unnamed Greek island from the years 1977 to 1996. Featuring (but not limited to): boys getting sunburned, boys gathering sea glass, boys kissing, boys preparing for war, boys falling in love, boys struggling to stay in love, an escaped convict’s return, a lonely werewolf’s return, ancient magic, an archway and a veil, and a homecoming.
Why I loved it: This is a fic that I read slowly, savouring every word, not wanting it to end. I could feel the magic when reading, and the love and the heartache, and the hope; vicualising every scene. The setting is captured really well, and these snapshots give us parts of the story we don’t usually see.
ART:
Lost Socks and Sealing Charms by dustmouth
Rating: R
Warnings: a fair amount of shirtless smooching
Page Count: 36
Summary: In which James loses his lucky socks, Remus and Sirius do nothing of any use, and Peter really needs to find himself new friends.
Why I loved it: This entire thing makes me so happy, it’s just so completely and utterly sweet and warm and funny. Dustmouth’s style is always the best thing and it makes me love these guys even more.
Untitled by entirely_the_wrong_sort
Rating: G
Genres: Canon, angst
Summary: Was that happiness ever even real?
Why I loved it: So much story told in this artwork, everything from youthful joy to the deepest despair. Lots of emotion in every image, and the fragments of notes or letters went straight to my heart. I really like the use of colours, so vibrant and gradually darkening.
9AM by scoobs_adele
Rating: G
Why I loved it: Cute and warm; our boys sharing a moment of comfortable and relaxed love.

Eras of a Franchise:
1996 - 1998: Generation I (1998 - 1999 US) - Pokemon: Red/Green is released in Japan early in 1996, and proves successful enough that an updated version, Blue, gets released by the end of the year alongside the first set of a Trading Card Game. In 1997, the anime adaptation begins airing and several manga series such as Pokemon Adventures begin serialization. In 1998, another updated version of the game based on the anime, Yellow, was released in Japan while the franchise finally made its way to the US with Red/Blue, which were actually the Japanese Red/Green remade with the Japanese Blue’s engine. The TCG, anime, manga and Yellow followed suit in both that year and the following year of 1999.
1999: Gen II Adjacent (2000 US) - Generation II ended up taking longer to develop than expected, and so we got a strange year (1999 in Japan, 2000 in the US) that wasn’t quite Gen I but wasn’t Gen II either. It was a good time for spin-off games though, as we saw the releases of Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Puzzle League and Puzzle Challenge, and the Pokemon franchise’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros.
2000 - 2002: Generation II (2001 - 2003 US) - Mainline games of Gen II were Gold/Silver, released at the very end of 1999 in Japan and late 2000 in the US, and Crystal, an updated version released in 2000 in Japan and 2001 in the US. Spin-off games curiously dried up almost completely at this point, with Pokemon Stadium 2 being essentially the only one.
2003 - 2006: Generation III (2004 - 2007 US) - Mainline games of Gen III were Ruby/Sapphire, released at the very end of 2002 in Japan and early 2003 in the US, Gen I remakes FireRed/LeafGreen released across the world in 2004, and Emerald, an updated version of Ruby/Sapphire released in 2004 in Japan and 2005 in the US. Spin-off games returned with a vengeance, including Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokemon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon Box RS, Pokemon Dash, Pokemon Trozei, Pokemon Channel, Pokemon Ranger, and the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games.
2006 - 2010: Generation IV (2007 - 2010 US) - Mainline games of Gen IV were Diamond/Pearl, released late 2006 in Japan and early 2007 in the US, Platinum, an updated version released in late 2008 in Japan and early 2009 in the US, and Gen II remakes HeartGold/SoulSilver released in late 2009 in Japan and early 2010 in the US. Spin-off games, as plentiful here as in Gen III, included Pokemon Battle Revolution, Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky, My Pokemon Ranch, Pokepark Wii, and Pokemon Rumble.
2010 - 2013: Generation V (2011 - 2013 US) - Mainline games of Gen V were Black/White, released late 2010 in Japan and early 2011 in the US, and sequels Black 2/White 2, released across the world in 2012. Spin-off games were less prevalent during this gen than the previous two and included Pokemon Conquest, Pokepark 2, Pokemon Rumble Blast and Rumble U, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and Pokemon Dream Radar.
2013 - 2016: Generation VI - Starting with this gen, the mainline games began to launch worldwide simultaneously. They include X/Y in 2013 and Gen III remakes Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire in 2014 (a Z duology of X/Y updated versions was planned to be developed and released in 2015, but was scrapped). Spin-off games include Camp Pokemon, Pokemon Battle Trozei, Pokemon Shuffle, Pokemon Rumble World, Pokken Tournament, Pokemon Picross, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Detective Pikachu, and of course Pokemon GO, which actually brought Gen I level mainstream attention to the franchise again.
2016 - 2019: Generation VII - Mainline games of Gen VII were Sun/Moon in 2016, updated versions Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon in 2017, and new Gen I remakes Let’s GO! Pikachu/Eevee in 2018. Spin-off games include Pokken Tournament DX, Pokemon Talk, Pokemon Quest, Pokemon Rumble Rush, and Pokemon Masters, later upgraded as Pokemon Masters EX.
2019 - 2022: Generation VIII - Mainline games of Gen VIII were Sword/Shield in 2019 which underwent DLC expansions in 2020, Gen IV remakes Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl in 2021, and Legends: Arceus in 2022. Spin-off games included Pokemon Cafe, New Pokemon Snap, Pokemon UNITE, and a 3D remake of the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games.
