May 15th, 2023: Finally finished a project that's been haunting me for some time now, and so where better to put it than the blog? All the details are present above, so there isn't really a reason for me to reiterate everything here, but I genuinely hope you take a minute to enjoy it (and also try to solve it!) I am every word you could ascribe to an amateur, but it is in growing my confidence in putting my ideas out there, and thereby actually motivating myself to finish said projects, that I can improve. Oracle Aria

A major boss from my game Chronicles Meteorfall. Copied from my old DeviantArt description.

Oracle Aria is one of Baron Ozma's scions. She is known for being the smartest of the 4 oracles, being the only one to successfully steal her target's body and nearly subvert the entire government of Aetheria before she was stopped by Koros and his allies. She is an expert at magitek, helping finish Aetheria's experimental body swapping machine and building her own magitek firearms that much more efficiently use surrounding mana compared to most other firearms at the time. She gives off a cool, collected energy even when confronted, and shoots down her enemies solemnly without giving a single word.

In battle, she mainly uses elemental skills such as her fire shot, blizzard shot, thunder shot, and wind shot arts that can easily exploit elemental weaknesses. After she exploits a weakness she usually follows up with luster or debilitate, and if she's already buffed or you're already debuffed, her ultra powerful "Tempest Barrage" art which does severe strike and wind damage to all foes 4 times with a +10% chance to crit per hit. She can also use Tempest Barrage randomly as her main attack once she's at 20% HP or lower, and can use Tempest Barrage to exploit weaknesses once she is at 40% HP or lower. Finally, she can make use of Wind Break if you happen to resist, null, repel, or drain wind and are neutral or more towards all other elements so she can always hit those elemental weaknesses. Aria's ultimate weakness is the dancer class, who can place fully party elemental shields through their dances, making Aria's weakness exploiting irrelevant. The paladin class and their "elemental bracer" art is another useful tool for this fight, reducing the power of all elements done against one party member. Another of Aria's weaknesses are charms that allow you to null, repel, or drain anima elements (fire, water, thunder, and force) and the cost of becoming weak to light/dark. Aria does not have any light or dark elemental arts, so that's another strategy you can use. But if you go in blind with a few weaknesses she can exploit, you are sure to have a bad time!

Riverhead National Park is a beautiful unsown ancient forest, spanning across 219 square miles, housing all kinds of animals from horses, deer, cattle, pigs, reptiles, birds and more.

Q: What’s the salary and hours like?

A: Typically you start off at 15-20K a year, working up to 28-30K. On average we work around 37 to 44 hours a week, and often work weekdays, evenings, bank holidays and weekends.

Q: What do you like most about your jobs?

A: Typically we like connecting with people and helping them understand the world around them. We are always happy to answer questions about the history of the beautiful woodlands and how it came to be what it is today! (The local homemade food discounts are also a bonus though..)

Q: Why is conserving our wildlife so important?

A: By protecting animals and plants and conserving their habitats, we make sure that future generations can relax in and benefit from our natural world. We want people to be able to enjoy nature, and the incredible, wonderful creatures and species that live within it.

Project Babel

So, Project Babel. A game I'm working on because I have either too much or too little time on my hands. Doing it in RPG Maker MZ because I gave up on Persona Maé (find that on my main blog). The name "Project Babel" is temporary until I think of something better.

The premise: A kitsune who's also an ultra-powerful time goddess has trapped 22 people in some form of the Library of Babel. Each person, or wanderer as she calls them, has been given a Mark (a codeword of sorts), a weapon, and a Condition that they must meet before she allows them to leave. In particular, the player character's Condition basically entails helping the other wanderers meet theirs. The story of the game is essentially the player helping the wanderers with their Conditions so they can all leave.

I'll post a list of the wanderers' names and their Marks, and I'll make posts for the characters themselves whenever.

~ Prince Caine’s Tour

“I.. I think I enjoy a Tour actually.. s,seeing as that I’m new here-“ you stammer, you don’t know much about this world, but this Prince seems rather nice at least- you witness what seems to be a smile from him before being scooped up and cradled, then a white FLASH before suddenly being Teleported outside, high above everything- you scream, terrified of heights, but also the suddenness of it. You dig your face into his chest puff thing before feeling calm enough to look down at the land you’ve found yourself in. His large long hand sort of petting you gently, as to help soothe you. Your cheeks are so red at this point- you wonder if he’s aware?

Deep breath… you look down, clinging very tightly to your tall thin Tour Guide-

All around you is dark yet colorful space- so much space.. but as you dare to look down you see it- white & pink heavenly clouds, a golden very feminine futuristic castle, the “circus” that looks more like a Hotel Resort than anything- and lots of other places. To the left you notice the forested area, as well as a rather beautiful looking well maintained Garden, a Silver looking Futuristic City, lots of lights, people w Usernames over their players running around. You notice a Coliseum like place, w a bubble dome over it, splatters of blood and muffled noises.. tearing your eyes from that you see what appears to be a Fair or Theme Park? To the right of that looks to be a very relaxing looking Beach, w water that flows over the edge in a waterfall. You squint, wondering what that Center of some sort is? “Hmm..”.

Prince Caine says nothing for the moment, just lets you look it all over for the time being.

As you continue to take in the view, you see some other floating clouds, with their own individual places- one seems to have characters from media you recognize, some you don’t, another cloud looks to be a giant Day Care or Kids Play-Place, then you notice the other floating forest in its own cloud right above the others below- it… scares you, but you also feel intrigued.

After you’ve gotten a good look at it all The Prince asks you where you’d like to go or if you’d like him to explain it to you? He tells you it’s all marvelous and there’s something for just about everyone!

You hold onto him, thinking it over..

There was a protest by a bunch of college students. I made sure no one could see my face and ducked into a café near the area they started by before following along. After a while of marching, there were cannisters of tear gas thrown into the crowd. Everyone was instructed to wear gas masks, so some of us were ok, but the people who didn't have it had to soak their scarves in water to filter the gas out and we had to move them somewhere else. The police and news have been saying that we were being rude or violent, but that's far from the truth. I'm writing this down because The Scribe has deemed it important and I think there was never a better time than now to become The Scribe's vessel.

Finished Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War and I am reminded of why I watched every episode of Bleach rather than slog through Naruto Shippuden.

Man, I have Feelings about Orihime, I miss the weirdo goober from early Bleach. Her gaggle of simps feel more like an observation group than a real friend group, barring Tatsuki and Ichigo.

Idk, like...after she gets kidnapped she falls into what I would call Horse Girl mode, where she's all "if I can tame this here monsterboy, I might survive". And the fact that she does it twice feels...idk, it's Kubo writing to a T, but...the worst part about it is that Orihime kinda just stays in horse girl mode after that for the most part. The weirdo goober is gone, and in her place is a girl who can haltingly say "Kurosaki-kun" with the best of them.

Like...Kubo didn't fully pull a Kishimoto and entirely fumble her character arc, but he took a fun character out of his gag rotation.
