It had been almost five years since Leia had seen Bucky. She thought about him every night when she helped Becca get ready for bed because she always saw him in her eyes. She gave their four year old daughter a kiss on the head and tucked her into her bed before walking back into her living room. Leia was grateful that she didn’t have to work tonight and could have a quiet night in. Of course the work she did wasn’t exactly legal. Then again she did what she did to give Becca the best life possible. She didn’t know how to find Bucky. He had left without a word and she never heard from him again. For someone she loved so deeply and believed loved her the same, she never expected to be abandoned by him. A few weeks later, she discovered that she was pregnant with their child. Leia could never regret her relationship with Bucky or having their child. The truth was that she still loved him and always would. She just hated that she had no way to find him. She was just doing what she had to do for her survival and that of hers and Bucky’s little girl. She refused to have any regrets.

“As I said, I will believe you when you give me a ring. Even Steve can’t save you on this one. I’m pregnant with babies two and three now. There’s no going back and just to let you know there’s never been any other man in my life.”

“Why do you emphasize man?”

“Because she’s been with a woman, Tony.”

Leia laughs, “How did you not know about me and Natasha?”

“Wait you and Natasha…”

“Barnes joined in a time or two.”

“I did not need to know that.”

“Steve, he only was touching her or watching.”

“Even I know all men like to watch.”

Steve blushes, “okay you’re right about that.”

“But, back to the topic at hand, Bucky, nothing can save you until I actually see the ring, and will someone call Bruce because the girls are not calming down? I’m in a lot of pain.”

Leia grabs her stomach. She had been trying to hide the pain she was in but it was starting to get to be too much.

Leia put Jamie in the crib and turned on the baby monitor before shutting the door behind her to the nursery. She turned on the other monitor by the bed before crawling in it and laying down next to Bucky, putting her head on his chest.

“It isn’t just you, my love. I’m glad Natasha and Steve are good with keeping Natalia for a bit. I miss just laying with you.”

Tony wrote that down in his notes. He was trying to keep it all organized.

“Okay we have to figure out bathrooms and closets. Then I can work on a floor plan and present it to you when it’s done.”

“Closets also means a pantry for the kitchen?”

“Obviously.”

“Well, I know I need closet space just for my own clothes.”

“And storage space? Attic, basement, storage room, or options?”

“Well the land dictates if we can have a basement so both if we can. And that’s why I like lots of extra closets for storage space. I was thinking a storage room that is attached to the garage but climate controlled as well. We also need a laundry room with some space for storage.”

“Oh we must not forget the laundry room!”

“Oh that’s a must!”

“Anything outdoor?”

“I know I want a play area for the kids. I don’t know if I want to go as extreme as a pool. I just know I want a play area. Bucky, what do you think about outdoors? Play area and picnic area with cooking space? Anything else?”

Leia kissed his cheek, “That’s a wonderful idea. We can also use a surrogate and harvest some of my eggs. I don’t have to carry the baby for us to have one before Bruce feels my body can handle it again. If we want to go ahead and have another baby, we can go ahead an d harvest some of my eggs for surrogacy.”

The site of the baby made her wish they could have another one soon but Bruce really felt they needed to wait longer for her body to heal. She had three babies in three years. She had a very difficult pregnancy with Jamie because of it. The longer of a break she gave her body, the easier it would be for her to have more babies.

“Seeing that baby makes me want one now.”

The next four months flew by. They had been busy packing up, picking out things for the new house, and preparing for the big move while Jamie grew. He was eight months old and mobile. He was a happy baby boy and the very image of Bucky in tiny form. She had just checked on him as he was still thankfully napping. It was allowing her to get more packing done. Natalia and Atticus were with Sam since Natasha and Steve had been brought their new baby daughter, Elena, the previous week and were still adjusting to having a new baby. Bucky was due back anytime now from grabbing them some food. They would be moving into their house very soon, in just a couple of weeks so Jamie could celebrate his first birthday there. Things were not only happy but exciting.

“I’m really hurting, and I don’t like it. I really don’t want to end up back in med bay or having the babies too soon.”

Leia started working on her breathing as she squeezed Bucky’s hand tightly and tried to breathe.
