Before Fusion

Rozaliya and Liliya were soldiers working for Marshal Cocolia. The two underwent an experiment that would integrate Honkai Beast genes into their bodies. While Roza's procedure was a success, Lili's was less than perfect, and thus she ended up hospitalized while Roza fought on the battlefield alone.

One day, after leaving Lili's hospital room, Roza hears from the nurse that, though her sister will be discharged the following day, she won't ever be able to fight again due to long term side effects of the experiment. She explains to Roza that Marshal Cocolia has arranged for her to be enrolled at a normal school. Roza, in a fit of rage, almost chokes the nurse, but stops herself and has a nervous breakdown. She punches the floor, pulls out her hair, and laments how big of a moron she was when she spoke to Lili just a few moments prior.

An unspecified amount of time passes.

The next we see of the sisters is when they're chased by a horde of beasts that resemble Quantum Shadows. They plan to escape through the Central Avenue in an attempt to reach a secured garage with an armored car for them to use, but Roza decides to fight the beasts alone. She passes her ID Card to Lili so that she can get the car and escape. Meanwhile, Roza would buy her the time to do so.

In spite of her initial indecision, Lili carries out Roza's request and manages to drive off safely. Sometime later, Liliya and a medical team are able to find Rozaliya. She's heavily wounded, and incapable of moving or speaking due to dried blood clogging her throat. She is rushed to the hospital, and next gains consciousness on an operation table.

She is unable to speak or move, but gradually comes to notice that as her sister is holding her hand. A doctor's voice fills the empty room, reminding Lili that the choice for her to fuse with Roza is going to be done without her sister's consent. Liliya urges the doctor to continue anyway, and justifies her action by stating that, while Roza believes that it's the duty of the elder sibling to protect the younger sibling, she believes that it should apply to both sides.

The procedure begins and as Roza falls unconscious while Lili holds her hand tightly. Project Delta thus starts.

Project Delta

"One day, the swan lake went quiet and the sleeping beauty woke up from her nightmares. She had no other choice but to embark on a long and lonesome journey. Her name is... Delta."

Following the operation, the resulted fusion would go on to be studied and documented for results and side effects. Rozaliya ended up as the dominant mind of the body whereas Liliya could seemingly only control the tail.

The loss of her sister made a serious side to Rozaliya's personality surface. She forsook her name and assumes the codename Delta, as a way to honor her sister's sacrifice.

In the days that followed, a postoperative pseudo-rejection reaction was documented to cause Roza fever, vomiting, and frequent episodes of skin irritation and shock. In an instance of cognitive disturbance, Roza "painted" the walls with an invisible substance, claiming to be preparing her ward for tours. This made her symptoms slightly recede.

Further study of the substance revealed it to be comprised of Honkai-infused antibodies that are dangerous to biologic tissues. It was concluded that the pseudo-rejection reaction is a form of hypersensitivity (a disease that causes the Immune System to go overboard). All attempted treatment had subpar results.

A "pigment" substance that changes color in response to emotional fluctuations was suited into Delta's weapons as a way for her to release and weaponize the antibodies through combat.

About 3 years later or so, Delta would go on to be recruited by an unknown organization from outside her universe and be sent on various missions. She would also go on to becoming the mentor of another duo of Olenyevas that had been wandering through the Sea of Quanta, causing mischief.
