kingdom hearts story

Despite Roxas and Xion being my second favorite KH couple for years--and me actually thinking they’re the best written pairing(?) there--I’m having a hard time shipping them lately?

I think part of it is that--for friends, who I know see them this way--I wrote them as more sibling-esque in some stuff, and paired Roxas and Naminé instead.

And I think that’s somewhat stuck with me. 

To be honest, while I do think Roxas and Xion are meant to be ship teased in some ways in canon, the narrative also completely works so you can see them as just friends or even sibling-esque. And nothing is set in stone (yet).

I also think most of the SoraKairi fans shipping Roxas and Naminé--and me being SO THERE for SoraKairi--has gotten me more into RoxasNaminé again... Despite the fact I really don’t like their writing in canon that much (thus far). But they could be great.

And, I mean, I did used to ship Roxas and Naminé. Kind of. Though that’s also an interesting case--and a story for another time--because I actually hated them both back when I first did (before Days happened and I then fell in love with Roxas and Xion).

But at this point I’m rambling now, and will shut up.

Edit: Though don’t get me wrong. I still do ship and love RoxasXion. And I think I still prefer them? IDFK. They’re just harder for me lately? For some reason? I think a lot of it, too, is that I’m having a hard time writing Xion herself lately... (Really, I always have, even though Xion’s my girl. Nami’s easier to grasp, imo).

Truthfully, I ship both Roxas pairings pretty equally and have for a long time.
