Phoxite is a new flesh colored mineral from the Rowley Mine in Arizona, and it has been accepted for publication in the #americanmineralogist. It forms at the interface between the bat guano and the mine wall. 🦇 💩 It is named for the PHosphorous content and the OXalate content that makes up the mineral’s chemistry. . The blue-green mineral in the center and edges is antipinite. Other minerals found with it are bassanite, struvite, thenardite, and weddellite. . While the paper is in press, you can download a free copy, with all the mineral details in it from the American Mineralogist website. But hurry, it won’t stay free.
