I’ve always wanted a hat that has the fluffy halo effect which I chose for this project. I was gifted this yarn by a friend and I’m grateful because she has kept me expressing my passion for knitting. I loved every moment of knitting the hat from the yarns I chose, the chart which wasn’t daunting and the cabling without a cable needle that added speed.

Tę czapkę wydziergałam dwa tygodnie temu. Jakoś nie miałam okazji jej ponosić, bo pogoda zmieniła się na cieplejszą, ale i tak ją bardzo lubię. Luty lubi ciepłe buty więc ciepłe czapki na pewno też. Pochwalę też wspaniałą włóczkę z @drutozlot od @biferno.pl A włóczka to Rowan Big Wool. Marzy mi się gruby sweter/ płaszcz z tej włóczki. Załapuję też kolejny ❌ w #bingonadrutach23 naszych wspaniałych koleżanek po fachu @agnes_strikk i @vintage_strikk Te moje krzyżyki takie trochę rozkojarzone na tej planszy, ale jakie czasy, takie krzyżyki. 😄 : Här presenterar jag min nya mössa stickat för några dagar sedan i Big Wool från @rowanyarns . Garnet är fantastiskt och jag drömmer om en längre kofta stickat i det här garnet. Har inte hunnit testa mössan för att temperaturen är inte tillräcklig lågt men kanske snart. Nautical Yarn, or Support Your Local Yarn Shop

I came across this impressively stocked local yarn store in Ludington during my travels in northern Michigan. Nautical Yarn is a flagship store for Rowan, and carries many other fine lines of yarn as well. Having recently splurged on alpaca yarn at Cotton Creek Farm, I loaded up on some necessities including faux fur pompoms, and stitch markers. 

The shop has sample knit garments and wraps showing what you can do with the yarn on offer, all around the store, including this lovely version of Ranunculus, designed by Midori Hirose, done up in hand-dyed Madelintosh sock yarn and a mohair yarn held together. Notice the addition of novelty cuffs. 

Besides so many yarns and notions, Nautical Yarn offers a variety of classes, some in person, some hybrid, and a knitting weekend in November to learn how to make and steek Fair Isle knitting which is offered in conjunction with local bed and breakfast inns.

What are the things that attract you towards making your project? Understand they could be different things for all sorts of reasons but with this one, it's the tubular bind-on. Reading into this design a lot of love went into putting it together and it’s just the cast on.😉

Nagle wymyslilam, że muszę skończyć zaległą czapkę zanim zima się skończy. Bo gruba włóczka i przecież szybko pójdzie. No cóż już dwa razy zaliczyłam prucie. 🤦‍♀️ A nowy rok bez prucia miał być.
