La Ferme des Sept Lunes is 10 hectares of organic and biodynamic vineyards along the Rhone. They have a southeastern exposure and this paired with their altitude brings a freshness to the wines.

Most notably though, there is a high alcohol content to this punchy, dry white.

The grapes are manually harvested and picked when fully ripe - there is zero yeasting or addition of enzymes. Roussane - bright, floral, baked bread, spices, surprisingly high acidity. a rich wine defined by its nutty-spicy notes

Marsanne - almond and beeswax, weighty, can produce fairly decadent wine, similar to Chardonnay in having a big personality

Tasting notes: lemon filled pastries, vanilla, nectarine, toasty, waxy, great minerality

Pairing: pork, mature and hard cheese, poultry

Meteore

Siete mai stati in Grecia a visitare le spettacolari ed affascinanti Meteore, Patrimonio Unesco dal 1988? 

Il significato del nome “sospeso nell’aria” già rende l’idea del luogo: un paesaggio surreale (ancor di più se c’è la nebbia) fatto di vertiginose pareti di roccia immerse nella natura su cui sono appollaiati 24 antichi monasteri greco-ortodossi. 

Di questi solo 6 sono abitati da un numero davvero esiguo di monaci e monache e sono aperti al pubblico. 

Io ne ho visitati 2, il monastero di Varlaam (maschile) ed il monastero di Roussanou (femminile). Da entrambi si gode di una vista panoramica sui pinnacoli circostanti ed hanno al loro interno cappelle riccamente affrescate; il primo ospita anche un piccolo museo di storia monastica che consiglio di visitare per comprendere meglio la storia e la vita dei monaci locali.

En bouche on a un vin très aromatique, fruité. Une belle rondeur en bouche. Sur des arômes de pêche blanche, pomme, un petit côté pierre à fusil. Des notes de fleurs (Jasmin, pétale de Rose). Une bonne longueur en bouche avec une belle fraîcheur en fin de bouche pour rafraîchir les papilles.

Un beau côtes du Rhône blanc très aromatique qui allie fruité et complexité. Un blanc gourmand. J'ai beaucoup aimé cette impression de croquer dans une pêche à pleine dent.

Wine Tasting Picnic in Calonge

A different way to experience the lifestyle here in Calonge is a wine tasting picnic organised by one of our local vineyards, Clos d’Agon. The wines at Clos d’Agon are exported around the world and the red varieties cultivated are Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot. The white varieties are Viognier, Marsanne and Roussane. Prices range from €11 to €520 for their 2014 Tinto 6lt bottle.

After your relaxing day at the vineyard, come home (you can walk as Clos d’Agon is about a km away from Cal Domino) to our heated infinity pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Cal Domino can comfortably sleep 8.
