The next stop on the stray tour was the wonderful small village of Bai Xep. I hopped on from Nha Trang with what was possibly the best group I’d been with, it was small and everyone was incredibly friendly, and Mia – the guide – was really helpful.

Bai Xep is a very small fishing town with narrow walkways so we had to abandon our bus and walk into the village to our hostel, with various seafood out for sale in buckets along the shopfronts.

Our hostel was right on the beach front and so we could hear the sounds of the waves whilst we were having dinner and even when ready for sleep we were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves.

A few of us woke early (5 o’clock!!) to watch the sunrise over the small bay and then another small group of us took a hike up the hill and took a dip in the small swimming hole up at the top before having some sugar-cane juice once we arrived back in the village.

We then took a boat trip in the afternoon where we went snorkelling and had an attempt at paddling one of the roundboats – I can sucessfully go side to side but could not quite master the technique for travelling forwards.

This shot was not taken at the Fisherman Village, instead it was taken on my back from White Sand Dunes to my hotel. It was a very long stretch of seashores and again I spotted the round boat. This time round was the bamboo one. I parked my rented motorbike just somewhere, went down to the beach.. And went into the round boat. Finally. That was my thinking back then. What happened was the day before, one of the fisherman asked me to "sail" the round boat with him and his daughter (if you remember that I took a photo with cute little girl, that's her and her dad). Off course with a small fee incurred. But I didn't take his offer because I was running out of time to catch the sunset at the Red Sand Dunes. Thus when I saw this round boat again, I make sure that I go into it. Though it was not sailing though. Haha. This is just my kind of #hwpboldjourney - a journey where I should be able to embrace the opportunity that are given to me before it disappear. But most importantly- not to regret what has been missed out - instead embracing the new opportunity that surely will be opened to you again.
