A powerful ritual with the black body in focus as a nexus of breathwork, movement, projection, sound, and visuals, Ritual Merging blends Jeanty’s soundscape and projection work with Rox’s live painting of human canvases. Ritual Merging is informed by the legacies of Haitian Voodoo, Jamaican Pukumina, New Orleans funeral processions, Americana, Afro-Caribbean carnival, Black speculative fiction, and the creative energy of Afrofuturism. Arthur Russell, Allen's kitchen, east 12th Street, New York City, December 22, 1990. Allen and Arthur had met in 1971 when Barry Miles auditioned Arthur for a recording session in San Francisco for Allen's William Blake Songs of Innocence and Experience, Volume 2. They remained friends and collaborated often ever since. Arthur lived upstairs from Allen starting in the mid 1970s. • A 1985 show of Arthur's has just been posted to legendary Avant Garde performing arts venue @roulette_intermedium 's website as part of their "Roulette At Home" initiative,  giving free access to their archive.
