Claire loved what she did for those lost girls. She refrained to have her own career and family to be a surrogate mother for seven troubled girls and she couldn't think of anything better to do. If only money wasn't so tight. But that horrible person of a Mayor Rafferty wanted to see "results" before founding the project further.
Results, what results? Should the girls have splendid grades and go off to college within one season? That was totally impossible.
All the girls were giving their best, but they still were children that had endured horrible things in their lives their were more important things than grades and money, Claire knew. So she was happy to see the girls interact with normal kids after school having friends and being friend with one another too. That was more rewarding to watch that any money Cesar Rafferty could offer her.
Even if it mean sleeping on a sofa at night.

Learn with me; a year of learning and applying magic
This Week: The Elements and the Cardinal Directions
Started: May 2020 - January 21st, 2021
Sources: Witchcraft and Practical Magic by Susan Greenwood and Raje Airey
Simple Wicca by Michele Morgan
https://zennedout.com/using-the-cardinal-directions-in-ritual/
https://witchesofthecraft.com/2012/01/10/elemental-magick/
⚠️Disclaimer: This is an online journal and any information presented is either UPG or notes from sources
One of the first things I learned was the elements, this year, I revisited those notes to learn more.
Unlike the Days of the Week, working with the elements wasn’t a daily thing. However, when I do magical workings I stay mindful of the elements I’m working with. I also meditate with the elements when I feel called to do so.
Here’s what I learned;
The elements and directions correspond with each other, many of their own overlap. Using the directions can help you understand where to place an altar or which direction to face during a ritual or meditation. Even connect to the archangels if you work with them. Working with the elements can help you connect with yourself, surroundings, and environment.
Here are some correspondences for each Direction/Element
North/Earth:
Intent: Fertility, Health, Wealth, Prosperity, grounding
colors: Green, Brown, White, Black
symbols/tools: Pentacles, stones, plate, bread, salt
Archangel Uriel
Time of day: Midnight
Season: Winter
Herbs: Any form of Sage, Patchouli, Myrrh
East/Air:
Intent: Wisdom, intellect, communication, new beginnings, change
Colors: Yellow, Blue, Pink, Purple
Symbols/tools: Swords, Athame, Incense, sound
Archangel Raphael
Time of Day: Dawn
Season: Spring
Herbs: Lavender, mint, sandalwood, lemon
South/Fire:
Intent: Creativity, Passion, spirituality, ambition, renewal, rebirth, courage
Colors: Red, Orange, yellow, gold
Symbols/Tools: Lamp, candle, wand
Archangel Michael
Time of Day: Noon
Season: Summer
Herbs: Basil, Bay, Garlic, Juniper, Rosemary, frankincense, myrrh, chamomile
West/Water:
Intent: Psychic development, dream work, intuition, emotional balance, wellbeing, creativity, love, joy
Colors: Blue, Silver, Green, Teal
Symbols/Tools: cups, chalice, cauldron, mirror, shells
Archangel Gabriel
Time of Day: Sunset/dusk
Season: Autumn
Herbs: lemon balm, yarrow, jasmine, rose
🏝🕯Sand and candles represent all four elements as well!!
Things you could do to connect with the elements
light candles
spend time in nature
meditate with each element
Hug a Tree
Climb a mountain if you’re into that 🗻
Drink water
Eat something
Take care of yourself
Connect with the Sun and Moon (Fire and Water)
Color magic
Arts and Crafts
Divination
Music
Work with the days of the week
Watch Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra
Dedicate an altar to the elements
The directions could mean something different or similar in other practices, certain correspondences for each direction could depend on where you’re at in the world. Yet I’ve noticed that in most practices some things are the same, it’s important to stay mindful of other practices while learning overall. You could learn a lot from others even if it’s just to respect something.
I wanted to start this “learn with me blog” to help me learn more about my practice and self. If this helps anyone else, that’s even better. I can’t share everything I do in my practice though out of respect for myself and the energies I work with. I have other projects in mind that I hope I can share with you all soon!
✨Thank you for joining me this week! If you’re open to conversation or would like to offer some feedback, my DM’s are open!✨

Zu den Alben gehören “A LIGHT IN THE SKY”, “ALL OUT”, “KEYED UP” und “ONE OF A KIND”. In jüngster Zeit hat Carl Nazareths aktuelles Studioalbum “TATTOOED ON MY BRAIN” aufgenommen (zu den Songs gehören “NEVER DANCE WITH THE DEVIL”, “CHANGE”, “STATE OF EMERGENCY”, “SILENT SYMPHONY” und “DON’T THROW YOUR LOVE AWAY”). Carl tourt derzeit durch die ganze Welt.

Hi there
Hey, I’m Rose. This is just a blog for all the photos I take and anything else I feel like posting but I’ll try to make it entertaining. I guess since this is an introductory post i should introduce myself a bit. I’m 16 and I live in Ohio. My favorite music artist is cavetown but my favorite song is Stars by Sam Airey. I’ve been playing ukulele for almost two years now and spent most of my time while I’m alone singing whatever song happens to come out of my mouth. I LOVE cryptids and cryptidcore and as such my whole blog is based on it. IDK how often i will post. It wont be 5 posts a day like some blogs manage to do, at least not right now. With a lot of my content being my photography, It’s somewhat inconstant how often I will have new content but I will try not to go more than a day or two without posting, although that long of breaks wont happen often. Feel free to submit any photos that you’ve taken. Thanks for reading!

New Album: Carl Sentance - Electric Eye
Release Date: 19 Nov 2021
"Electric Eye" is the name of the new solo album by Carl Sentance (the current singer with Nazareth). When you hear the album, one thing is immediately clear, Carl Sentance does not do things by halves. Each and every song goes straight into your ear and gets you headbanging, or at least singing along.
Songs like "Exile" or "Overload" are punchy, catchy and powerful. They are timeless. All songs on the album have a distinct character of their own, which is just as convincing today as it will be tomorrow.
Carl Sentance was born in Loughborough and started his first band Leading Star playing guitar and singing in 1977. After participating in several local bands, he replaced John Deverill as a vocalist in the NWoBHM band Persian Risk. In 1981 he recorded his first single ”Calling For You”, the band then recorded "Ridin High" in 1983.
In 1984 Persian Risk toured with Motorhead throughout the UK and appeared on prime time TV on Ch4's ECT programme. In 1985 Carl recorded his first Persian Risk album "Rise Up". At this point he received an offer from manager Smallwood Taylor to join Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) as lead singer in his solo project. The collaboration lasted from 1986 to 1988 and created demo songs, videos and various bootlegs. Carl left the Geezer Butler Band in 1988 to join the Welsh band Monroe.
In 1988 Carl decided to return to Cardiff and joined the band Tok-io Rose. In 1990 he decided to move to Florida to form the band Ghost with Welsh ex-UFO and Wasted guitarist Paul Chapman. Five years later Carl returned to the UK.
From 1996 to 1999 he sang in various musicals, such as Judas in Jesus Christ Super Star and the American in Chess. From 1999 to 2002 Carl became the lead singer of the Swiss Hard rock band Krokus, with whom he recorded the album "Round 13". In 2004 he then joined the Whole Lotta Metal Theatre Tour for two years.
2006 Carl joined up with Deep Purple's keyboardist Don Airey for his solo project "Don Airey and Friends" and has co-written with Don ever since. Albums include "A Light In The Sky", "All Out", "Keyed UpP", "One Of A Kind" and the Live album Don Airey and Friends “Live In Hamburg”.
In 2009 Carl recorded his first solo album “Mind Doctor”. That led him to try and reform the original Persian Risk but at the time the members were busy with other projects so Carl put a brand new Persian Risk together and came up with two great albums "Once A King" in 2012 and "Who Am I" in 2014.
2015 Carl became the new singer for the legendary rock band Nazareth after founding member Dan McCafferty had to retire due to illness. More recently Carl has recorded Nazareth's latest studio album "Tattooed On My Brain" (song credits include "Never Dance With The Devil", "Change", "State Of Emergency", "Silent Symphony" and "Don't Throw Your Love Away"). Carl is currently touring all over the world.

Wednesday
The mornings are always hectic with only two bathrooms in the house.
Claire is really glad to see that the girls are slowly getting better results in school and to see they can establish lasting friendships.
That evening Maddy even makes a special friend.
Maddy: Hey little one, you don't have anywhere else to go to, too, don't you? I see you around the house everyday. Come here little one, I'll take care of your fur, I'm sure you're actually a really pretty boy, aren't you? Come in with me, Miss Voyante loves animals too, she'll be fine with you.
So Daishi the stray joins the family! Dashi is an independent coward and will fit in just right with the girls.
Holly: Bad boy, you're not allowed to rob the bin! Maddy got you a bowl, didn't she? Hope: Maybe he's spoiled...
That night Paige volunteered to sleep on the couch. If she knew, that Daishi had a better place to sleep then her, she would probably be against the pet...

DJ Spoon’s Top 10 Albums of 2017
It’s been a difficult year for music...for some reason. A bundle of crackers but not as many to choose for this list from than previously. Why? Maybe because my Spotify playlists have become filled with Trolls, Sheeran and Now That’s What I Call Purile Pop more than ever. Anyway, let’s dive straight in...in no particular order except roughly starting with the best.
1. The National - Sleep Well Beast
Typically dark, bleak and deep (the voice if nothing else) with splashs of distorted guitar and strained lyrics about getting old and struggling with marriage, with a later R.E.M. twanging rock song in Turtleneck before you plummet back into subdued reflective dirge. LOVE IT!
2. Sam Airey - In Darkened Rooms
The Welsh singer songwriter so devoted to his craft that he moved to Leeds just to be near the river of his moniker ;o) Sam’s album is a pot pourri of songs written over years, some crafted from poems written as a teenager. Beautiful piano, minimal guitar, loud gutteral indie folk and Americana...my heaven.
3. Public Service Broadcasting - Every Valley
Another concept album by PSB, this time about the unlikely demise of the Welsh coal mining industry. Incredible moving and passionate beats interweaved with archive news footage and interviews. With a guest vocal from James Dean Bradfield this album drips Welsh optimism and bleakness.
4. The xx - I See You
Basically more of the same, and that’s just what I wanted. Despite the lead singer being a slightly wonky version of my sister another great album by The xx. More of the same it might be, the same fragility and sparseness but there is a more polished and fuller sound to this third outing. Well done Jamie!
5. Allman Brown - 1000 Years
After waiting 4 years since the awesome Sons and Daughters single, the album by Allman Brown was worth waiting for. Rich acoustic folk ballads that edge towards being easily confused with Bon Iver at times, what a comparison!
6. Elbow - Little Fictions
Another uplifting, reliable album by Guy and the boys. Looped piano, full phat choirs and the Halle Orchestra pack this 7th outing with honey smooth songs to warm your cockles.
7. Blue Rose Code - The Water of Leith
An ‘old’ favourite of the Big Comfy Sessions, we need Ross back in 2018 hint hint, sees the celebration of the fella returning home to his native Scotland. Oozing with jazz, folk and poetry, it’s not hard to see why Ian Rankin was so happy to write the liner notes to accompany this accomplished album.
8. David C Clements - The Sounds of the Forest Choir (Live)
I didn’t think I’d be featuring an album that appeared in 2016′s Top 10 Albums but I had to make an exception for David C Clements’ live version of ‘The Longest Day in History’. Again it’s the powerful yet emotional cracking vocals and the anthemic songs that fill my heart with joy at another outing for these songs.
9. Luke Sital-Singh - Time is a Riddle
The 2nd album by another musician in my earworm collection that is often likened to Bon Iver, but on this outing maybe a little less. Not a bad thing as Luke has taken this opportunity for a follow up album that certainly nods to the predecessor but wanders off in tangents too. Playing around with instrumentation from intricate guitar work to swelling organ anthems it’s clear Luke is really finding his sound, roll on album #3!
10. LCD Soundsystem - American Dream
I finally discovered this outfit late in the year on the trusted source of surprising artists, Later with Jools Holland, and their performances were enough to stop me in my tracks. Clearly an intense album full of emotion I look forward to falling more in love with this album. Songs full of mumbling rants, building looping sounds and a middle aged man passionate about his music. My kind of discovery.
I really struggled to find my 10th album of the year tbh, there have been a few I should have loved, Duke Special, Benjamin Clementine, John Smith to name a few...and some of them I do like (JS), some need more attention (DS) and some are just too weird even for me (BC...a concept album about the relationship between two flies?!!?). Let’s see what 2018 brings....

11.2.3: Mastery Journal Reflection -
During my four weeks of Presentation of Design Solution I was tasked with making an online presentation of my thesis to showcase to a panel of industry professionals. I presented various projects completed in the program to explain how my research explorations and applications of principles, concepts, and frameworks contributed to the process used to implement research-driven design.
Three Main Takeaways:
Wasserman (2016), advises “go with your gut within the guidelines and techniques that you learn for your design work” (Rule of Thirds para. 4)
Malik, Sykes, & West (2012), believes “When the audience finds a story with polish and content, the response is noticeably stronger” (p.193).
Malik, Sykes, & West (2012), argue, “The great presenter considers the audience's needs first and adjusts the standard content to fit” (p.13).
The first takeaway is a concise and critical reminder that the guidelines given and techniques gained provide a framework for which to apply acquired competencies. However, as a media designer sometimes the client demands hot pink and lime green for their website, when research and an understanding of the client’s brand dictates otherwise. As a Media Designer, real-world design problems are solved with appropriate demographic research, a comprehensive understanding or color theory, etc Yet it takes guts to present working solutions that aren’t what the client initially had in mind, and it takes an intuitive understanding of design to know to go in a different direction.
The second takeaway is critical in that, as a Media Designer so often folks latch onto catchy trends that look highly stylized, and in some instances, polished. However, these trends lack depth, meaning, and critical intent to solve a design problem. As a Media Designer, knowing the difference in typeface associations for example, prevents me from cranking out generic looking websites that all use Raleway as the display headers. Understanding, the processes and research required to develop a brand allows for end results that are not only polished, but allows a brand to further effectively communicate to a demographic in a way that is meaningful to them, and that will gain responses.
The third takeaway digs deeper into the second takeaway by outlining specifically what Media Designers should do, design and write with the audience in mind. A campaign for a non-profit for instance, by developing target personas for individuals aged 30-40, a clear understanding of who the target demographic is, what they do for a living, and what matters to them allows for more effective communications that speak directly to them. Content and copy go hand in hand. The greater presenter, and the effective Media Designer showcases final works that place the intended target demographic at the forefront of both content and copy.
Week 1: Thesis Abstracts:
In week one I was tasked with writing abstracts for each of the four DLO pages of my presentation.
Connecting, Synthesizing, Transforming:
In conducting research on the various communities in Missoula, Montana, the demographics of the citizens that reside there, as well as their perceptions of the communities and districts within; the Myrtle St. area presented the biggest unmet need. Through demographic research and conducted interviews the design problem the community faced began to divulge as deeper exploration uncovered the benefits of outdoor activity and the increasing rates of suicide in Montana. The design problem of “What’s here for me?” presented the challenge to promote the area’s access to the river trail, the opportunity for wellness through outdoor exercise and activity, as well as the scenic views of the area as something valuable to the demographic. A client-ready persuasive pitch was developed to inform them of the community’s problem and the area’s need for an identity campaign.
After convincing the client of the need for the campaign a consistent brand experience for the target audience was developed. Through conducted research on design thinking, articulating design solutions, and establishing voice and tone, media was transformed to persuade the client that the brand is the right solution for the Myrtle St. community. Further development of design elements ensued with considerations of how arrows convey movement, guide direction, and can be associated with cycling and the bike paths of the area. Airey (2015), states “Begin by focusing on a design that is recognizable—so recognizable, in fact, that just its shape or outline gives it away” (p.33).
After finalizing the brand voice and tone through the creation of a brand guide, and various roll-out assets, a questionnaire was developed to gain insights into the participant’s thoughts, and feelings based on the efficacy of the project thus far. While the majority of feedback was positive and demonstrates the overall success of the project, further refinements and adjustments can be made. Best (2006), believes “Measuring performance using criteria agreed in the early stages can influence how successful others think the project has been, as the `hard’ data will substantiate what has been achieved” (p. 170).
Solving Problems:
According to the CDC, suicide rates rose to a 38% increase from 1999 to 2016 in Montana. While poor infrastructure and the stagnant job market are bigger overarching problems for Missoula as a whole to tackle, the wellness and well-being of its citizens is a community challenge. In order to determine which community held the direst unmet need, the city of Missoula was explored via Google maps to achieve a bird’s eye view and to examine the various districts within the city limits. Through photo documentation, demographic research, and conducted interviews, it was determined that Malfunction Junction as a whole was too broad. The Hip Strip is already an established brand, and some neighborhoods were too general and too something for everyone. In Design Problem Statements – What They Are and How to Frame Them, Devos (n.d.), concurs “For designers and creative problem solving, a problem is an unmet need that, if met, can satisfy the user’s purpose” (What Is section para. 5).
After divulging the design problem of the Myrtle St. area, further demographic research was conducted using a SWOT Analysis and an Empathy Map. The brand’s voice and tone were developed according to Ericka Heald’s article, 5 Steps to Find Your Brand Voice. With the brand voice & tone established, the visual elements of the brand were developed. The pros and cons of various media in terms of cost, effectiveness, and environmental impact were weighed. After developing the roll-out assets and Myrtle St.’s style guide, the need to examine the demographic’s reaction to the brand and glean insights on their thoughts and opinions still remained. A questionnaire was created to gain insights into the demographic’s reaction to the brand thus far, and to provide the client with confirmation to the brand’s efficacy. It was determined that while the brand is predominately successful, further refinements and adjustments can be made to include older audiences and to create more dynamic media that would inform the demographic of the community and all that it offers.
Innovative Thinking:
It begins with a design problem, an unmet need for a given target market. In order to understand how a brand, product, or service does or does not currently fulfill those needs demographic research utilizing American Fact Finder and in-person interviews of the target demographic to explore their hobbies, interests, and more should be conducted. By placing the collected information into a SWOT analysis and Empathy Map, distinct target audience profiles can be developed to paint a clearer picture of who they are, what they need and what matters to them. Bateman (2018), believes “People don’t just buy what you do, they buy why you do it" (How to Create the Perfect Elevator Pitch).
To determine the true design problem a brand, product, or service faces; the four W’s of: Who is affected? What is the problem? Where does it happen? Why does it matter? as outlined by Devos (n.d.) should be asked to develop a full understanding of the client’s design problem. From there, a new perspective regarding the branding and marketing direction of a client’s product or service paves the way to develop working solutions that meet both the client and target demographic’s needs.
The forefront of innovative design is content, and media created with the audience in mind. The implementation of out-of-the-box thinking synthesizes bold, and original departures from everyday standards and improves upon existing design solutions. The use of arrows in the Myrtle St. community identity takes advantage of the strong directional and graphic nature of the brand. In implementing the arrows not only as a critical design element, but also as a guide in community way-finding signage, the arrows allow the brand’s roll-out assets to transcend the static nature of those elements and to guide both new and current community members to the brand.
Acquiring Competencies:
Over the course of the last ten months I developed the research tools, skills, and methodologies necessary to stay on the cutting edge of the graphic design industry. I conducted a case study and implemented mind maps as a graphic organizer to O’Grady (2009), “correlate research with new ideas” (p. 82). This allowed me to build a foundation for ideation of logo development. I researched and explored the purpose of a logo, how to sustain a successful brand over time, and how to develop a brand toolbox. I developed target audience personas and learned to write with them in mind. I wrote headlines that inspire, and taglines that tantalize. I evaluated design options, investigated methods for text handling and layout, and translated the concepts into effective visual communications. I created dynamic media by first planning for motion through story boarding, and then communicated the voice and tone of my brand through motion. I created a range of imagery to promote my concepts and ideas through photo and video and gained critical skills through the exploration of various design options and strategies. I delved deeper into defining and articulating design solutions, further honed an understanding of brand voice & vision, and further conveyed my brand’s characteristics through dynamic media. I planned media assets that best communicate my brand to the target audience and developed various types of media for a variety of platforms to create a unified multi-media community identity campaign. I then examined metrics and marketing strategies as well as how they are implemented in the industry as I learned to refine my presentation skills.
Upon completion of this program I will be able to deliver professional quality deliverables and unified multi-media campaigns to my clients. Through critical thinking, problem-solving, research and application I strive to create innovative work that instills wonder and inspires others. Adams (2017), claims “That is where graphic design takes hold, smart ideas that communicate a clear message and do it with skill and craft” (What is Graphic Design?).
Week 2: Thumbnail Sketches:
In week two I was tasked with revising my thesis abstracts and exploring web page layouts. I received feedback from a peer that was positive and confident that each abstract was heading in the right direction for each of my arguments for mastery. The feedback received from Professor McClung proved to be enlightening and allowed me to realize that only my abstract for Acquiring Competencies was “on track”. For Innovative Thinking I had failed to make any claim to innovation what so ever. For Connecting, Synthesizing, and Transforming I had one heck of a long ways to go in delving into the finite details and small things. And for Solving Problems? I needed to start with the problem statement and define it and focus specifically on Myrtle St.
I’m not gonna lie, this is where the occasional emotional breakdown began as the full scope of what was needed and expected in a matter of weeks truly hit home with me. As I attempted to explore various layout grids and showcase images that I would apply to the pages of my presentation I realized that since I did not have a clear view of what my arguments were I could not just plaster images at random. The road block of not having written my arguments concrete prevented me from visualizing the end presentation, let alone selecting images.
2 Column Grid: Thumbnail Sketch:
After exploring Wasserman’s (2016), article A Comprehensive Introduction to Grids in Web Design, I began to sketch for consideration of 2, 3, 4, and combination grid layouts.
Week 3: First Drafts:
In week three I don’t remember the last time I consecutively slept less. I could not get work off since there’s a staffing shortage, and so I just had to shut up and get things done. My issues as an aside, I met the first draft deadline for all sections except for Connecting, Synthesizing, Transforming. Since I knew that section would be the most involved and detailed, I left it for last. Unfortunately, I did not receive any peer review or feedback this week and I believe it was my decision to place the following on the Connecting, etc page rather than explain and articulate that other sections had been worked on:
Since the Connecting section is the first section to examine, the possibility exists that my peers didn’t realize that I had worked on other sections since I failed to elaborate or articulate that I had. After all, if the first thing they click on isn’t done why would they waste their valuable time?
Week 4: Final Drafts & Portfolio Practice:
In week four, my caffeine addiction ramped up as the final draft deadline crept closer and closer. After refining, and revising each section, I realized that ultimately my Connecting section and Acquiring Competencies sections mirror each other in that for both sections I explored the finite details of the principles, concepts, and frameworks researched and applied. However, I tackled both sections differently. As appropriate, I dove into the research for the Connecting section and examined the hard and soft skills gained throughout the program in Acquiring Competencies.
For portfolio practice I was tasked with choosing a MDMFA project to breakdown and articulate on my portfolio site. Since the Myrtle St. community identity project is the most involved and the most complete, and research I chose to tackle that since I have been wanting to put it on my portfolio site for some time anyways.
I breakdown the project and the research applied from identifying a design problem to measuring design effectiveness.

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an #heavy #metal #vocalist, #songwriter, and television personality. Osbourne rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the #lead #vocalist of the pioneering English #band Black Sabbath, whose dark and heavy sound has often been cited as key to the development of the heavy metal genre. Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the US, though he has reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions, most recently in 2011 to record the album 13, which was released in 2013. Osbourne's longevity and success have earned him the informal title of "Godfather of Heavy Metal".[1]
In late 1967, Geezer Butler formed his first band, Rare Breed, with Osbourne. The band played two shows, then broke up. Osbourne and Butler reunited in Polka Tulk Blues, along with guitarist Tony Iommi and drummer Bill Ward, whose band Mythology had recently broken up. They renamed themselves Earth, but after being accidentally booked for a show instead of a different band with the same name, they decided to change their name again. They finally settled on the name Black Sabbath in August 1969, based on the film of the same name.[9] The band had noticed how people enjoyed being frightened; inspired, the band decided to play a heavy blues style of music laced with gloomy sounds and lyrics.[9] While recording their first album in a castle, Butler read an occult book and woke up to a dark figure at the end of his bed.[citation needed] Butler told Osbourne about it and together they wrote the lyrics to "Black Sabbath", their first song in a darker vein.[10]
After leaving Black Sabbath, Osbourne was signed to Don Arden's Jet Records. Arden dispatched his daughter Sharon to Los Angeles to "look after Ozzy's needs, whatever they were", as a means of protecting his investment.[33] Initially, Arden was hopeful that Osbourne would return to Black Sabbath, and he later attempted to convince the singer to name his new band "Son of Sabbath", which Osbourne hated.[6] Sharon attempted to convince Osbourne to form a new supergroup with guitarist Gary Moore.[6] In 1980, under the management of the Ardens, the Ozzy Osbourne Band formed again as The Blizzard of Ozz. The first line-up of the band featured drummer Lee Kerslake (of Uriah Heep), bassist / lyricist Bob Daisley (of Rainbow and later Uriah Heep), keyboardist Don Airey, and guitarist Randy Rhoads (of Quiet Riot). The record company would eventually title the recordBlizzard of Ozz credited simply under Osbourne's name. Co-written with Daisley and Rhoads, the album brought Osbourne considerable success on his first solo effort. The album sold very well with hard rock/heavy metal fans.[9] Though it is generally accepted that Osbourne and Rhoads started the band, bassist Daisley later claimed that he and Osbourne formed the band in England before Rhoads officially joined.[34] Osbourne has maintained that his original choice for bassist was Dana Strum, and that it was Strum who arranged Rhoads' audition. Blizzard of Ozz is one of the very few albums amongst the 100 best selling albums of the 1980s to have achieved multi-platinum status without the benefit of a Top 40 single. As of August 1997, it achieved Quadruple Platinum status according to RIAA.
