i made some kaijo redesigns bc ive been thinking about the show more recently, character sheets and rambles under the cut :> (side note that these are just for fun lol)

(also their group name is a reference to no more miracles on ao3, please read it its so good 😭)

first off!! queen my beloved (<- absolutely no bias whatsoever)

i actually think her canon design is really cute, but honestly with her whole swordfighting thing i feel like it would be better if she had an outfit that communicated that well. i made the poncho (cape thing?? idk) be attachable to either sides of the blouse because i just forgot to stick to one side, thats my excuse for not redrawing queens design sheet lmao

next up!! good lird (im sorry joker ily but. honey 😭)

hes supposed to be a parallel to the joker card but he looks more like a magician??? unfortunately im attached to his canon design no matter how much i hate it so i wanted to keep the whole suit thing. i wanted to add some jester motifs without having to change his hat, so i swapped his cape for a tailcoat and added the classic duo colors you see in jester designs (also just want to rant about clover getting the jester hat for some reason???? that might be a protagonist-antagonist parallel in the story but its been a while since ive watched it so im not sure)

i really dont like how jumbled the palette in his canon design is because!! theres too much going on!!! i remember seeing an alternate version of his suit in one of the kj valentines magazine pages, and it had a really nice velvet color which honestly suits him better

lastly!! the reason why there isnt a sheet for spade is because honestly i think his design is really good as is?? i didnt really know what else to add because his design communicates his character really well and he has a pretty good color palette

i might try to redesign more characters when i have the time but ngl this is just an excuse for me to redesign joker 💀

I’m pretty sure there aren’t any parts with the decagram that have a blue background but it was nicer on the eyes for me since I kept working on this in the middle of the night for some reason

Also I still don’t know how to draw Shadow, despite him literally being an almost carbon copy of Joker like— EVEN I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY???

A tag team for Rose and Cyan/Shadow Joker from Kaitou Joker, requested by @sky-blue-memories!

Espeon - Espeon is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy. It is said that this Pokémon developed its precognitive powers to protect its trainer from harm.

Whimsicott - It rides on the wind and slips into people's homes. After it has turned a room into a cotton-filled mess, it giggles to itself and takes off.

Sinistea - It absorbs the life-force of those who drink it. It waits patiently, but opportunities are fleeting—it tastes so bad that it gets spat out immediately.

Umbreon - Umbreon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's waves. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack.

Paldean Tauros (Blaze Breed) - When heated by fire energy, its horns can get hotter than 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. Those gored by them will suffer both wounds and burns.

Murkrow - It searches for shiny things for its boss. Murkrow's presence is said to be unlucky, so many people detest it. It is believed that seeing this Pokémon at night will bring about ominous occurrences.

Details:

For twins, I obviously wanted to give them at least one set of matching Pokemon, so I went for Espeon and Umbreon, a pair of eeveelutions! Espeon was chosen for its Psychic-Type, while Umbreon was picked for its Dark-Type and ruthlessness. Furthermore, both are Pokemon that evolve through friendship, which I thought fit well with a sibling bond.

For Rose’s other two, I wanted cute Pokemon with a bit of an edge, so I picked the Grass/Fairy Whimsicott, who’s a mischief-maker. Considering the name of the character, a Grass-Type was a must. Sinistea is more outright menacing, stealing life force from people, but still coming in a cute and innocent appearance.

Tauros was a clear choice for such an aggressive guy. I went with the Blaze Breed to represent a fiery temper, and and as a bonus, Paldean Tauros has a black coloration, which I thought fit well. Murkrow was selected over Honchkrow due to Murkrow being a lackey. It’s the one that gets bossed around, but its still a spiteful little thing in its own right.

Late night thought

Rose technically can be called the Witch of Time & space, Since She can manipulate/float stuff

It also align more with the theming of Time and Space of Kaitou Joker ( Still mostly Time rather than space but the two still present)

Like phoenix is immortal (Time) and from space

I'm not complaining though, just want to share my thoughts

Kaitou Joker Encore chapter 2

This chapter was really exciting, wow... Phoenix managing to break through his body being controlled to yell for Joker to run, and then also pleading Hachi to stop what his body is being forced to do... Phoenix being possessed by some kind of evil alien being is REALLY fun. And then also there's Hachi who feels absolutely horrible that, despite vowing to become a phantom thief himself instead of just an apprentice, he couldn't protect Joker from being horribly hurt. I really want to see what happens in a situation where Hachi's gone off by himself to try to help Phoenix without Joker. It's super rare to see Hachi by himself during dangerous situations, and this will truly be Hachi's biggest (and most high stakes) test to see if he's anywhere near close enough to graduating. You can do it, Hachi!!

Things about Kaitou Joker no one normal thinks about (courtesy of me and @loud-whistling-yes):

None of the main characters probably have a legal identity that isn’t considered dead, missing or flat out just doesn’t exist/faked.

But hear me out!

- Spade is probably legally dead as King since D told his parents that King jumped off the boat (his author name doesn't count cuz it's a pen name and most likely a fake identity)

- Queen was stolen as a child who was given a new name and everything, plus her kingdom was burnt down so it was safe to assume everyone thought the baby died as well

- Joker straight up ran away as a child and I feel like, if by some miracle, he isn’t considered dead he would be a cold missing child case

- Hachi was born in a secret ninja village with very little to no outside contact so... it feels very self explanatory

- Silver Heart probably has one but might be hidden or protected cuz he was a spy, otherwise I think it'd be hard for him to own a house without having it be raided by police

- Don't get me started on Shadow and Rose

- Shadow and Rose were born in an unnamed village that kept their time witch deal a secret so it isn’t a stretch to say neither of them exist in the eyes of the government, plus the amount of time Rose and Shadow went missing probably made whatever was left of their ransacked village think they were dead (plus the explosion Rose caused probably didn’t help)
