Expectation _ realisation. Happy Hull mag, physical copy, with some preparatory sketches. Kellemes húsvéti ünnepeket! – Happy Easter! [Literally::: Pleasant Easter Holidays!]
Húsvét – Easter ..the word Húsvét refers to the "first day when we can eat meat after the Christian Lent" because meat is forbidden during Lent, so "a HÚS magunkhoz VÉTelének első napja".
On Holy Saturday or Sunday the girls decorate eggs and prepare food for Easter Monday. A typical Easter Monday breakfast menu is: ham, funnily decorated eggs with Piros Arany and some cakes. On Easter Monday both the girls and the boys dress up (at some places into folk costumes) and then the girls stay home the whole day, waiting for the boys. The boys, if they are little, go with their father, godfather and/or grandfather from house to house and sprinkle the girls. If the boys are older, they go with their friends and do the same. The girls must be sprinkled, because they are flowers, and as those, they need water to stay fresh, healthy and beautiful. :) So the boys arrive to the girl's house and the girl opens the door. The boy has to recite a sprinkle-poem (locsolóvers), in order to ask for permission from the girl that he can sprinkle her. If the girl likes the poem, she says 'you may sprinkle' (szabad locsolni) and then the boy sprinkles her with a glass of water, bucket of water, perfume or anything. :D ..then the girl may or may not kiss the boy on his face and gives the boy a decorated-egg (hímes tojás), chocolate or nowadays also money. Then the girl invites the boy into their house and offers him food, cakes and something to drink. The boy stays there for a while and then leaves to visit an other girl. :) As a boy, I loved this holiday, because I got chocolate, money, food and drink and could hang out with my friends or family the whole day. My sister did not like this day so much.. :D There is a new Easter tradition, that is not celebrated anywhere, and it is::: the girls can sprinkle the boys on Easter Tuesday, they can water them, give back the attacks :D ..but the girls do not get anything for it.

There is a lot of sprinkling poems, but this one is the traditional one, that everyone knows. :) locsolóvers [ˈlotʃoloːvɛrʃ] – sprinkling poem locsoló [ˈlotʃoloː] – sprinkler (boy) locsolni [ˈlotʃolni] – to sprinkle húsvéthétfő [ˈhuːʃveːt heːtføː] – Easter Monday hímes tojás [ˈhiːmeʃtojaːʃ] – decorated Hungarian Easter egg ° On Easter Monday the girls must be sprinkled, because they are flowers, and as those, they need water to stay fresh, healthy and beautiful. :) So the boys come to the girl’s house and the girl opens the door. NEW YORK–The legacy of eight generations of Tuscarora Indian Nation music will resound at the October 21st Center-Shift Conference of AF3IRM, an organization of transnational women, with the participation of Pura Fe, renowned singer, composer and lap key guitarist. Ms. Pura Fe’s music was once conferred by the Academie Charlos Gros of France with the “Best Global Album” award and she was named best female artist by the Native American Music Award. Her most recent composition was the song for the Idle No More Movement, the First Nations movement which has gone global in its scope and influence. Ms. Fe combines artistry with advocacy for rights of native Americans and indigenous peoples. In 2014, she was part of the Honor The Earth; Love Water Not Oil tour with Winona LaDuke to stop the Enbridge Expansion and tar sands and fracking pipelines. She will present an annotated performance at the AF3IRM’s Center-Shift II: Roots and Routes, contributing both her artistry and her wisdom toward a new direction for the women’s movement. Though raised in New York City, where she was involved with the American Indian Community Center, Ms. Fe will join the Conference from Saskatchewan, Canada, where she has been residing recently. Ms. Fe’s lifework dovetails into AF3IRM’s current concerns regarding the foundational ideas of US feminism. “The entire purpose of my life is the regeneration of traditional music, clothing, instruments and other ‘art forms’ in a contemporary tribal world. The traditional then becomes the contemporary and the cycle merely continues,” she explained in an interview. #rootsandroutes #rootsandroutes2017 #centershift #centershiftii #af3irmnyc #af3irmny — view on Instagram http://ift.tt/2fuhBhP
