Yeah god, people are so abrasive about pronoun opinions it’s somewhat terrifying. I want to talk about my fav without having to worry about someone trying to spark an argument with me just because of the pronouns I used in the discussions. While gender is an important part of Gwyndolin’s character, there is a LOT more to discuss than just that and I wish people wouldn’t get so hung up about it.

Fun Fact, whenever I read fic about Gwyndolin or RP with a Gwyndolin blog, I usually just use the preferred pronouns of the author/the mun, because it was their headcanon and I have to respect their interpretation of this highly nuanced and interested character who shouldn’t be reduced to their gender identification alone.

Bloodborne is still amazing

Currently thinking about how @rootbeercabbage and I have completely different interpretations of the relationship between the Moon Presence and Gehrman, and since the game itself is so vague, both our theories are valid interpretations! It's especially cool how our theories are so different that which one you believe to be "canon" completely recontextualizes the Hunter's Dream, arguably the most important area in Bloodborne!

I'm certain that one of the reasons Bloodborne is still talked about today, 4 years after its release, is the way it can start conversations. One of the few games you can ACTUALLY talk about all day.

I would just like to see Fromsoftware handle cosmic horror some more. Like, don’t get me wrong the beasts are fantastic, but Bloodborne is literally the best execution in terms of visualizing Lovecraftian concepts that I have ever seen and I’m just sad I can’t get more of it.

Yeah I’d have loved to see the Insight mechanic being played in a more complete manner. Besides like minimal changes to the outside appearance and difficulty of some enemies it never did anything and you’re punished for having it like? what’s the point? It felt half done, specially when compared to Beasthood which gave you a significant damage boost in exchange for the vulnerability 

That could have been exploited to give more of that cosmic horror stuff to the story. The fact that you need Insight to see the Amygdala is a FANTASTIC show of what Insight could have done. Honestly cosmic horror is SUPER unexplored and difficult to write but Bloodborne had a delicious way of bringing it to life and I’d LOVE to see it pushed even further.

Hot take, but Miyazaki should’ve sought Junji Ito rather than GRRM to write his next game and they would’ve made the most FANTASTIC cosmic horror game in the world without even breaking into a sweat

Lothric and Lorian’s mid-boss cutscene, the ending of ds3, or gael’s boss fight. It’s really tough to say but imo DS3 runs away with the high moments.

UO: Gehrman’s fight is especially underwhelming as Bloodborne’s “final boss” as he doesn’t seem to “tie” everything together the same way it does in other soulsborne games. Also there is no emotional connection I have no idea what anyone is talking about when they say his fight is emotional

While I agree that the boss fight falters emotionally (which i think is a problem with the base game as a whole tbqh) and that it lacks the resolution that a fight with, say, willem might have, i adore the mechanics/music/scenery enough to look forward to it when i play it and it’s personally my favorite boss in the base game esp. moreso than the other “final” bosses. ur def right about it not being emotional though.

Fanfic Reader Asks -> Accepting C1 -> What trope are you tired of reading? Why? Hmmm... what kind of fics did I gloss over or not even click on lately...? After scrolling through the Dark Souls tag, I have to realize, that it isn’t really tropes that I am tired off, but characters instead. A lot of my reading experiments comes from: “Is that character I like in there?” That may also be the reason why stuff that focus only on OCs doesn’t get my attention too much. OCs are fine, but I want them to interact with canon characters. When I want to get attached to a whole new set of characters, I start a new book series.  So I would say, oc-centric stuff is a trope I am tired of reading, because that is not why I search out fanfiction.  I know that sounds hypocritical, because I know a lot of OCs, I love, but like... you have to make them interesting to me. Make me invested in them. And the easiest way to do this to me is to put your OCs near canon characters. Like I do in Storm.

His daughters wait for him and trust hunters SO MUCH they’re willing to risk their lives to find a safe place when you tell them about the Chapel or the Clinic-they’re these wee little things with ribbons in their hair who feel so brave after talking to a brave hunter that they’re determined to live through the night like their father did, even if it’s in vain? I wish I could have kept them safe, I wish I could’ve brought their parents back to them and I’m???? ;v; I just. Have a LOT of feelings abt the Gascoignes tbh, as many as I have feelings about Father Gascoigne himselfAAAA

How I feel about this characterAfter I got HYPED up so much about his bossfight with all the memes and fanarts and how much cage boy seems to be a fan favourite, when I finally made it, that stupid idiot RAN away from me and then oneshot me with A Call Beyond after catching him?Seriously?!Micolash, I hate you for this, but you are kind of a loveable mad scientist dork and I need you for my Laurence story, so you get a pass. 

All the people I ship romantically with this characterIn my verse the main ship is with Rom. I just like the idea of them having been in a cute romantic relationship and she was his tie back to Byrgenwerth, so he never fully became a full member of the Healing Church. I also ship him with Laurence kind of. The crackship becoming serious. 

My non-romantic OTP for this characterThat is very much Laurence. I live for their friendship. 

My unpopular opinion about this characterI don’t think I have one? I still talked about his boss fight and I think that is a popular opinion. 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.I am pretty satisfied with his canon actually. But it would have been nice to have some more item descriptions about him. I have the feeling he isn’t really mentioned anywhere. He very much comes out of nowhere, a bit meh for such an important character, don’t you think?
