happy friday! for Vat'Asala/Neve: A hello/good-bye kiss that is given without thinking - where neither person thinks twice about it.
-inquisimer
Happy Friday! For @dadrunkwriting!
Content Warning: Wholesome Length: ~500 words
Things were forever busy at the Lighthouse, even when half the occupants were absent. Asala had something to give Bellara and then they had to ask Neve how that next case was going for her. They’d seen her worrying about it and she’d been stubborn about not asking for their help. Well, they could be just as stubborn if not more so. They were determined to show her that it was okay to trust them, to trust others. A long road ahead. Asala shook the thoughts from their head and walked into Bellara’s little archivist room.
“You know, casual affection is a good way to tell someone you like that.” Asala looked over at Bellara from their spot near her box of tinkering parts. They were always curious as to how it worked even if magic eluded them. They narrowed their eyes wondering where Bellara was going with this.
“Bellara.”
“I read it in a serial! The heroine says to her friend, the rival, that an easy way to tell someone you care about them is casual affection. They described it as a hand brushing against their back or something.” Bellara was speaking rapidly and Asala just her ramble. When it looped around to the serial again, Asala interjected.
“Bellara, are you implying that I should use casual affection with Neve?”
“What? No, I’d never. Well, I mean. You are kind of struggling with it aren’t you?” Asala’s lips flattened into an exasperated line. “I overstepped, I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s fine. I’m not struggling so much as going up against the brick wall that is Neve’s trust issues,” Asala grumbled and Bellara winced at their words. “They didn’t come from out of nowhere and I will earn her trust. Until then, I go at her pace. But I will take what you said into consideration Bellara.”
“It’s. I want to see you two happy. That’s all.” Asala gave a smile to Bellara.
“That counts for a lot. I’ll see you around Bellara,” they said standing and heading to the door. Asala was thinking on Bellara’s words and realized that they could give Neve small gestures of affection. It would make the most sense. So they went over to Neve’s office and strolled in after knocking.
“Ah, my favorite kind of trouble just walked in. I’ve got to head out back to Dock Town. Got a meeting with the Threads.” Neve leaned in and brushed a kiss across Asala’s lips. A soft, quick touch that had their mind reeling. Did Neve just kiss? Asala looked down at Neve who had a similarly shocked expression on her face.
Asala reached for Neve when she dashed away, claiming she couldn’t be late for her meeting. They groaned in frustration as it was going to be next to impossible to get her alone. Yet. Their fingers grazed their bottom lip, the memory of Neve’s fleeting kiss continuously playing a loop in their mind. It was going to be next to impossible to work without think about that damn kiss now.

Scarred (Neve x F!Rook)
Rook struggles to come to terms with the marks now adorning her body, but Neve is there to offer her reassurance in the way only she can.
18+! Minors DNI
The sun was low on the horizon, casting long shadows in the room Rook now shared with her companion Neve.
So much had happened over the past year, and more than a little chaos had ensued, but the one thing they could both agree on was that they would face it all again knowing it would bring them together.
Rook stood in front of the floor length mirror in her under garments, frowning slightly as she examined the various scars that now adorned her body. She knew that Neve still found her beautiful, but she could not help but frown as she eyed her chest, the jagged gift from a darkspawn blade sprawling across her chest.
She was not sure how to bring the subject up with Neve who bore her own set of marks from a different life. Rook had no reservations about Neve’s scars, finding her to be the most beautiful woman she had ever laid eyes on, scars or no. She had no doubt that Neve felt the same about her, but it was easy to overlook other people’s imperfections rather than your own.
Neve came around the corner, eyeing Rook curiously as she frowned at her own reflection.
“What are you doing?” She asked as she stepped behind Rook, her eyes softening with concern.
“Mm. Just trying to remember what I looked like before-” she trailed off, indicating the various scars on her arms.
Neve’s head nodded subtly in understanding, coming up to stand behind her, reaching around and gently running the back of her hand over her cheek.
Rook’s eyes closed at her touch, relieved that she did not judge her for her own insecurities.
“You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen,” Neve said gently. “Both inside," she ran her fingers along the length of one the more grisly marks. "And out."
Her lips grazed her neck softly, her breath hot on her skin, sending shivers down Rook’s spine. Neve’s hands wrapped around her waist, fingertips tracing delicate patterns over Rook’s smooth skin.
Rook’s eyes fluttered shut, losing herself to the sensation of her lover’s touch. The way Neve loved her never failed to excite her.
She was so focused on her lips that she failed to notice Neve’s fingers trailing downward until they softly grazed over her. She exhaled softly, her mind swimming as her body quivered in anticipation.
Neve’s lips continued to explore her neck as her fingers began moving in delicate circles over the sensitive nub of flesh. A low moan escaped Rook’s throat, and she could feel Neve’s lips curl into a satisfied smile.
It was easy to forget they had only done this a handful of times, Neve had proven to be a thorough lover and each time somehow managed to surpass the last. A few touches was all it took to drive Rook wild, and it was not long before she felt herself teetering on the edge.
Not wanting the experience to end soon, Rook managed to pull herself away. She turned in Neve’s arms, claiming her mouth with a passionate kiss filled with love, and more than a little desire.
Their tongues danced together as Rook began leading Neve backwards towards their bed. They fell backwards together, relieving themselves of the rest of their clothes.
Rook straddled Neve’s hips, staring in her dark eyes burning with desire. She gently moved her brown locks away from her neck, peppering delicate kisses to her skin, earning a satisfied sigh from the woman beneath her. Neve ran her fingers delicately down her spine, sending pleasant shivers coursing through her.
She continued kissing her way down Neve’s neck, gently nipping at her collarbone. Gooseflesh rose up along her skin, and Rook knew a few more well placed touches would have her writhing beneath her.
She flicked her tongue briefly over Neve’s erect nipple, just enough to tease her. Rook couldn’t help the playful smirk at Neve’s grunt of frustration.
“You’re so mean.”
“Sorry, should I st-”
Her words were cut short as Neve gently but firmly pulled her down to her, moaning softly as Rook’s mouth covered her.
Neve hissed as Rook’s tongue moved in wet circles over her taut peak.
“Just like that.”
Rook continued gently licking and sucking first one nipple then the other, enjoying the sight of her lover’s eyelids fluttering closed, biting her lip in a way that said she was thoroughly enjoying herself.
She ran her fingers slowly up Neve’s thighs, stroking her gently before easing inside her in the slow way she liked.
Neve’s back arched off the bed, her hands gripping the bed sheets so tightly her knuckles had gone white.
Rook continued skillfully working her lover, smiling triumphantly as Neve hissed her name, her nails digging into her back as her body shook beneath her, breathing heavily as she regained herself, gripping Rook’s hips and smirking playfully.
Neve flipped her on her back, wasting no time in planting kisses to the area Rook needed her most. Her fingers easily slid inside her, pumping in a steady rhythm as her mouth skillfully played her most sensitive area. The sight of Neve’s muscles in her well toned arms flexing as she worked was an appealing sight as Rook’s vision began to blur.
Neve’s dark eyes met hers, sending her cascading over the edge with one final thrust of her fingers. Rook shouted her name, her body quaking as waves of pleasure continued to crash into her. Neve gently brought her back down with tender kisses and caresses along her skin, inching her way up her body, resting her head on Rook’s chest. Neve’s hand found hers, and they stayed in contented silence for several moments, Rook’s free hand gently stroking Neve’s hair.
Rook's heart was racing, desperately sucking in air as she attempted to catch her breath. A combination of excitement, pleasure, happiness, and even a little fear swam in her chest. She had never felt this way before, and the sheer amount of love in her heart threatened to overwhelm her at times.
Neve shifted slightly, looking at Rook with adoration and love that neither of them knew could exist.
“I love you, Trouble.” She said, her voice taking on the husky timbre that drove Rook wild.
Rook marveled at how her heart still fluttered every time she said those words. She looked into her eyes that held a tenderness reserved only for her, feeling the safest she had ever felt.
“I love you, too. Always.”
Twilight rolled into darkness, the two of them drifting into a peaceful sleep safe in each other’s arms. It didn’t matter what happened outside of this room, as long as they were together they knew they were home.

Summary: After time away in Ferelden, Eddi was looking forward to an evening in Docktown catching up with her beloved. She hadn't expected to find herself in Venatori clutches while Neve was clueless just yards away.

Hi! This is my first ever Veilguard fic, yippee! I hope you enjoy it!
For a little bit of context (since I hadn't originally intended on making this public), Eddi is the daughter of my HOF who in turn was very good friends with Anders who trained her and fulfilled the role of Uncle in her life. About a year before DA4 Anders went on his calling accompanied by Eddi who took on Justice upon his passing, just as he'd trained her do. Inside of Eddi, Justice warped into a different spirit called Respite with the main priority of not just enacting justice but striving for peace and contentment in others. I hope this helps explain some of the scenes involving it! :)

Look the Neve and Lucanis romance is fine, cute even at times. But the Neve and Rook romance is a category 5 event.
She is constantly on the verge of tears, clenching her fist, gripping the furniture, almost throwing up, because she cannot cope with how madly and deeply she has fallen for this fucking idiot.
Honestly its amazing everyone should experince being Trouble.

Hello, happy dadwc! For a prompt, for your Vat'Asala/Neve, may I submit:
8. Justice
Order, regularity, method, equilibrium, placid lunar influences
Good: Stability, conservatism, organization, normal functioning; law, discipline, logic, coordination, adapting to necessities, moderate opinions, practical sense, reason, administration, economy, obedience
Bad: Bourgeoisism, submission to users, lack of initiative, slaving over books, functionalism, papers; police station; legal dispute, law suit, quarrel, exploitation of the legal system
Neve and Asala are so sweet together. I love them. Happy DADWC!
Content Warning: wholesome, kisses and a bathing scene
“Did you know that before you came into my life, I had some semblance of order to it?” Neve asked while leaning against the side of the bathing pool in the Lighthouse. They’d come in from hunting down some Venatori cultists still loyal to Aelia, and Asala had asked her to join them in cleaning the blood off. Neve looked over at them as their head leaned back against the side of the pool. She chuckled when one violet colored eye, the same color as their horn, peeked open to give her a chastising look.
“Hmm, that might be true but I bet your life would be a lot less fun without me in it. As you’ve said before,” Asala told her. Their arm snaked out and wrapped around her waist, pulling until she was tucked up against them.
“I definitely don’t mind your kind of Trouble. Though it does lead to a loss of stability in almost all areas of my life,” Neve murmured as Asala shifted beside her. She almost laughed when they simply lifted her and set her between their legs. “Are you getting ideas?”
“Someone has a dirty mind and it is not me.” Asala grinned as they spoke jerking when Neve poked their side. They didn’t move when her hand slid up along their ribs and spread open on their chest. She traced the intricate tattoos that had been inked onto their skin over the years with the Lords of Fortune.
“I’ll remind you of that the next time you want to sneak away while we’re exploring Minrathous for a kiss.” Asala huffed at her words. Instead of answering, they leaned down and covered her lips with theirs for a brief, searing kiss. “Now see, that is what I mean.”
“Hmm, you don’t seem to complain when I do find a nice, quiet corner to kiss you in. But if it’s a problem on a mission, I can stop,” Asala said solemnly. They grinned when Neve leaned in.
“Don’t you dare.”

Regret (Neve x M! Rook)
Summary: Solas is defeated, and the Blight ended. But the choices made to get there were anything but easy, and Rook must carry the weight of those decisions long after the battle ended.
Warning: Contains some MAJOR spoilers
I trusted you.
Neve's voice resonated in Rook's thoughts, an unrelenting echo that refused to be silenced, no matter how hard he tried to shut it out.
I trusted you.
The words hit him hard, sending a wave of pain through his entire body. What used to be a comforting sound now felt like a burning brand, piercing through his thoughts and twisting his heart into a painful knot.
I trusted you, and it got me KILLED!
Rook jolted awake, stifling a scream as he sat up in bed, his skin slick with cold sweat and his body trembling. He shut his eyes tightly, inhaling deeply and clutching the sheets as he fought to steady himself.
Gradually, he opened his eyes to the dimly lit space of Neve’s apartment, a place he had come to know well during the nights following his confrontation with Solas.
Glancing over at Neve, who lay peacefully asleep in the shadows, he ensured she was undisturbed before quietly getting out of bed. He made his way across the room and stepped out onto the balcony that offered a view of Dock Town.
With his eyes closed, he let the gentle breeze brush against his face, tousling his unruly hair. He gazed out at the city, or what was left of it, as his thoughts drifted back to the unsettling dream he had just experienced.
It was the same dream that plagued him almost every night since his team had pulled him from Solas’s prison. The guilt from the events of Tearstone island has haunted him as bad as any spirit, plaguing his thoughts and stabbing his heart each time he remembered.
He looked up at the sky, half hoping to see Assan soaring through the clouds, Davrin shouting from the ground below. But reality was a cruel mistress and reminded him that they were gone, a result from a choice he had made.
They were gone, and no amount of wishing or self loathing would bring them back.
And then there was Neve, the woman he loved, the woman he had inadvertently allowed to be captured and plagued by the Blight by a decision he had made. A decision that was now tormenting him whenever he tried to have a moment’s peace.
He swept his hand down his face, attempting to dispel the haunting image of her being yanked into the abyss, even as her scream echoed in his mind. He had been forced to make heart-rending choices, and even now he still found himself contemplating what he could have done differently to alter the outcome.
He felt Neve inching closer from behind, her arms enveloping him as she pressed her body against his bare back, her chin resting softly on his shoulder.
“You’re brooding again,” she said quietly, her voice soothing and tinged with sleep.
He placed his hands over her arms that were wrapped around his waist and turned his head slightly to press a kiss to her temple.
“Sorry,” he murmured softly, “I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“You didn’t,” she replied, gently unwinding herself from him and stepping beside him. “You had that dream again.” Her words weren’t phrased as a question or a reproach; instead, her tone was tender as she leaned against the railing, locking him in with one of her penetrating gazes.
He nodded, fully aware that there was no use in lying to her. He had long since abandoned any attempt to conceal his feelings from her.
She hummed in understanding, gazing out at the city for a moment before turning to him. “I don’t know what dream me has told you,” she said softly. “But the real me will tell you the same thing she’s been telling you since that day: it was my choice to disable the wards. I knew the risks, and I would do it again without hesitation.” She stepped closer to him, reaching out and cupping his face in her hands. “Besides, you found me. You brought me back, you saved me. You found a way to bring me back to you, even when the odds were stacked against us. We’re both here, and that has to count for something.”
He nodded slightly, offering a tired smile as he met her eyes, his hands coming up to gently grip her wrists as she cradled his face. “You’re right,” he said softly. “We’re still here.”
“I’m always right,” she said, kissing him gently before pulling away. “Now come back to bed, Trouble. You’re brooding so loudly you’ll wake what remains of the city.”
He turned to follow her but paused when something caught his eye. There, tucked in a crevice of the balcony was a solitary gray feather, gently swaying in the wind. He reached out, carefully extracting it from the surface and holding it delicately in his palms.
He glanced up at the sky, a small smile forming on his lips as he watched the clouds.
“Good boy,” he said softly, turning to follow Neve back into the apartment, his heart feeling lighter as he began the journey into the future.
